Reviews for Indian Head Resort
Review 1:I would prefer the coffee maker in the vanity area instead of on the Microwave - everything else was perfect
Review 2:all of it- the staff was nice and very professional the was meal was great the service was perfect ,the room was nice and clean, the view was pretty we got lucky and it snowed the whole time. Beautiful!
Review 3:We absolutely loved our visit. The room was very clean and the beds were so comfortable! The pool a d arcade were a bit hit with our children, especially the outdoor pool. Swimming in December is something they'll never forget!
Review 4:Had to ask to be in main bldg as they had us across the street facing a run down tennis court, it was done for an extra charge. Nothing was open while we were there, no restaurant no pub no fire tower. In room states pool open till 11 but closed at 9 each night. Carpets were old and dirty, mold in bathroom, furniture very outdated, dresser drawers did not open properly.
Review 5:Loved hot tub/pool outside
Review 6:If we had let the first employee we encountered effect our decision, we would have missed out on a great place to stay.
Review 7:All but one employee was helpful, friendly and attentive. The facility is like a time warp back into the late 60s and 70s, which we enjoyed, kind of kitschy. The heated floor tiles outside to the outdoor pool and hot tub that they keep open all year round was awesome!
Review 8:I guess it didn't really have much to do with thw resort, but booking messed up our reservations, but the staff was very accommodating. But the pools and hot hots could use a cleaning!!
Review 9:We loved the heated pools and the hot tubs, especially this time of year. Very relaxing!
Review 10:THe indoor hot tub was out of order...and I really likedthe cabins..they should be included on the online booking...
Review 11:ThThe pool and the outdoor hot tub were great...the location is great, easy access to everything we wanted to see..
Review 12:We are old and we were looking forward to dinner in their dining room or pub we went in at 6:45 and they told us that because of a tour bus they could not serve us even though there were many empty tables. I told them we were staying at the hotel and they said it did not matter. I would never tell anyone to stay there. I also said all we need is a bowl of soup and salad. Did not matter. Totally unacceptable.
Review 13:The view and location was perfect
Review 14:The bathroom fan was useless. If more than one person were to take a shower I think the room would become a sauna.
Review 15:Very central location. Beautiful view from the room. Loved the pond. Room was clean and quiet. You could go to the dining room for any meals. There was a microwave and coffee maker in the room. I liked that the shuttle bus to the Scottish Highland games on Loon Mtn, stopped at the motel.
Review 16:Air hockey did not work. Bed and pillows could have been more comfy.
Review 17:The grounds were beautiful. Kids had fun in pool and on paddle boats. Near/easy drive to major attractions.
Review 18:We stayed across from the main lodge in the brown building and our first room smelled awful of mildew, come to learn rug was soaked. Front desk quickly changed our room. No problems in new room.
Review 19:Enjoyed morning coffee on the balcony, beautiful view. Kids enjoyed paddle boats and games, pool was heated and clean. Having a restaurant onsite made it easy.
Review 20:I think they (maintenance) should at list shampoo the rugs two/three a year. I thought the rugs were dirty.
Review 21:Loved the activities for the children. Staff was very friendly and professional. They did an excellent job. I've been coming here for the last 8 years. I stopped eating at the restaurant a couple of years ago. I read the bulletin on the new chef and menu. Let me tell you, I ate every single day in the bar area. I loved the food. It was excellent. All the waitresses were good, but one stood out the most. It was Jessica, she really step out of her zone just to service my family. I really appreciate that. When I go out to eat anywhere, the one thing am looking for is how am treated at the table when I'm ordering. She was great.
Review 22:I would have liked an option for breakfast other than the meal plan, or a small free continental breakfast.
Review 23:Large, clean rooms. Good WIFI signal, great pool facilities.
Review 24:Could not find any room by the pool or jacuzzi. Everyone we would try to go, the same people were camped out taking up all the chairs and tables. Not that big of a deal, but it would have been nice to try it out.
Review 25:Everything was great!Really enjoyed the view from our balcony!
Review 26:Messed up the name on reservations on one couple did not have a room for two nights after getting confirmation. They finally found it but did not apologize for the mix up. They then shut off the key after 1 night and had to go to the desk for the 3rd time in 1 day. Also did not inform us about the meal plan. Will not be back there again.
Review 27:location
Review 28:Only that the game room wasn't really equipped with games for my little girls and the mattress was a little u comfortable
Review 29:Indoor & outdoor heated pools, lake side access and views, bar lounge & restaurant
Review 30:Nothing really.
Review 31:The room was spacious, with a nice view. It also has two sinks, one in the bathroom by the shower and another outside so two people could still get ready at different stages. The large TV had many stations and worked great!
Review 32:We were traveling with our family for a visit to Storyland. The Indian Head Resort with its' all inclusive accommodations really was very convenient. Nice to have all the amenities under one roof.
Review 33:I think it rained once
Review 34:Well it's better said What's not to like?? I came up to fly fish and with all of the options for entertainment I was very impressed!! Trout pond, Paddle boats, Tennis courts, Hot tubs (2) Swimming pools (2) Good Food and Very Friendly Staff and the location was smack in the middle of the best fly fishing in northern New England. We fished the trout pond with great success , then ventured out to the Kankamangus Hwy to fish the Pemmigewasset river and were excited of all the Brook Trout that we hooked into. We missed our chance to fish Profile Lake at the base of the famous Old Man, which is fly fishing only, we ran out of time but certainly not fun. I can't wait for another chance to stay at Indian Head to take advantage of all the fishing and at a Very reasonable price. Well Done To The Staff And Crew I'll Be Back Soon Many Many Thanks !!!!!
Review 35:The food and drinks were priced like you were in a 5 star tropical resort. We spent 20$ on two drinks that's the same cost on a cruise ship if not worse.
Review 36:We loved the pools and view.
Review 37:There was an incident where I left some values lugge outside my bad. Been driving for house. They stuck us in the old section which is unfamiliar to me long story short a camera thas cost $500 was missing. Long story short office claimed to not have it but after providing me the # to the police the camera and basket it was in turned up oursidr exactly wherebit had been left. If it had been outside it would have been soaked or at the very least cold. It appeared someone was attempting to see if anyone askes about the cera and when I did it turned. We left to go to the store came back abd were asked to leave. they couldn't have paid me to stay there another night after being treated the way we were by the staff and the fact that I almost injured my back to be honest with you I think they thought we were going to sue them which was absolutely ridiculous on top of that my husband already on crutches and they're making us move to another hotel in the middle of our vacation totally ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing and refreshing take your mind off of our problems good time. Thank You Indian Head for starting my vacation off on the wrong foot and it continued for the entire time we were there we weren't very happy after that had happened to us time to put a sour taste in her mouth we do have a lot on her mind then we having to leave the camera outside by accident I were a bad protocol according to the office was to bring it back into the office by anyone working on the property this was not the case you mean to tell me that thing was outside near the parking lot on the deck all night and it was not cold damp or wet at all ok Indian Head I think your days have passed the senior citizens that used to love going there are all probably up in heaven
Review 38:At one time this was a place I would commonly stay for skiing. This was the absolutely worst "relaxing" vaction of my entire life time expirience and I will be spreading the word to all my friends and family in new hampshire and so will my step daughter when she attends an NH university this fall on a full soccor scholarship
Review 39:Our room was not ready at check-in time. All of the TV channels did not work. Food choices were limited.
Review 40:The location was excellent. The outdoor hot tub and indoor pool were awesome. The views were stupendous.
Review 41:The only downside for me was the firmness of the bed, but everyone likes a different level of comfort. It certainly won't deter me from staying here again :-)
Review 42:I loved the location. The view of the mountains was amazing, and they have a beautiful man made pond they stock with trout, so you can fish during your stay. They have 2 heated pools, one inside and one outside which was nice in October when all the pools are usually closed. The food is excellet! I went for my friends wedding and the staff was great at accommodating the brides requests. Overall I loved staying at this resort and I'll definitely be coming back for a full vacation sometime :-)
Review 43:Thermostat in room was broken
Review 44:Location is perfect for outdoor activities. Spacious rooms and great views. Loved the outdoors pool and Jacuzzi, enjoyed swimming while admiring the foliage.
Review 45:Resort lounge was very outdated Chairs were ripped Charge a fee to go to the top of the tower, I think if you are a guest you should get to go for free.
Review 46:Awesome Location Great Value Clean Room Comfortable Beds
Review 47:It needs some cosmetic work, painting perhaps. Cement crumbling around the the pool area and indoor pools seemed less cleanly. rugs were soaked upon arrival with too much moisture in the sheets ,etc.linens weren't fresh
Review 48:It's a great place and location. Fun for the whole Family.
Review 49:The rooms are good but beds are to soft, showing there age a little. we had some falling ceiling paint in room also. I also didnt like that i booked through booking.com for a family of 5. but our room only had 2 full size beds. so had to pay for extra cot and lucky we had a air matress. it was tight but very managable.
Review 50:We love the location, everyting we want is right there. there is enough to do when your at hotel also. My kids are older but still want to go to the night ice cream social, bingo, and entertainment. They have a decent show of fireworks on thursday night also.. bar and lounge are great to hang in also. live music always great. Rooms have huge T.V. fridge and microwave which is helpful also.
Review 51:It was a great place for us to stay. We enjoyed the grounds (indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub) also there is a pond with pedal boats and a tower you can climb to enjoy the spectacular mountains.
Review 52:Front desk staff not friendly rooms need work

Review 57:Beautiful surroundings and only 40 min drive to the Cog Railway.
Review 58:Maintenance of the rooms very poor. Cleanliness lacking.
Review 59:The bed was comfortable and the front desk staff were very nice. The pool was warm.
Review 60:Old rooms. Need renovation.
Review 61:Location
Review 62:The hotel is just a run down tourist attraction.
Review 63:Nothing, I was there for no more than fifteen minutes.
Review 64:Very friendly helpful staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Review 65:clean room and breakfast
Review 66:most everything
Review 67:Lots of activities for the kids
Review 68:I was given a key to a room already occupied.
Review 69:The food was hit or miss, some good meals, some average or even a little below.
Review 70:The entertainment, a singing group, put on a good show in the evening.
Review 71:Large property away from noise but close to amenities, huge tv in rooms and central to areas of interest.....lots of room to walk and enjoy outdoors
Review 72:Staff was very accomodateing! Food was good and room was clean, what more could you want?
Review 73:Nothing

Review 76:Pool, hot tub and lounge.
Review 77:Felt dingy
Review 78:Front desk staff was friendly
Review 79:The kids loved the pools and hot tub. We also took them sledding and ice skating right at the hotel!
Review 80:Arranged for room through online service. It was not honored by the hotel.
Review 81:Rooms were dated, but clean.
Review 82:Nice location. Friendly staff.
Review 83:Only down side was slow wifi in the smaller far aaway building
Review 84:Everything was great during my stay. Couldn't have asked for more.
Review 85:outdoor spa
Review 86:Noise from other room
Review 87:IT took very long before we were served in the restaurant
Review 88:The outdoor pool the jacuzzi and the kitchen
Review 89:Gym was very hot so did not use.Had to walk across a highway to get to our room.Resturant was VERY pricy
Review 90:There was alot to do at a good value.
Review 91:Not much enjoyed most
Review 92:Pool area. Staff
Review 93:too many kids
Review 94:close to lots of things
Review 95:THERE WASN'T TO DO ON RAINY DAYS, WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Review 96:Unfortunately the rain...LOL And would you mind restoring the Old Man of The Mountain? LOL
Review 97:Everything! I have been staying with you starting in the late 1950's with my family. I maintained this tradition with my own family and now they stay with you too!
Review 98:I liked that the staff was very accommodating after they learned that my husband was a cardiac patient and they were able to move us closer to the elevator after we were originally going to be very far from it. The view was wonderful, the beds were probably the best we've ever used away from home.
Review 99:I think a bit pricey for the average hotel stay, but save up for it every year.
Review 100:Have been going there for years. Love the old feel ambiance, laid back, relaxing. Food wonderful, love the breakfast buffet. Pools are wonderful.
Review 101:The staff was friendly, courteous and very helpful. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi were great & the food was delicious. The room was clean & comfortable. Overall excellent.
Review 102:Our room was across the street from the main lodge which made it inconvenient to access the pool and dining room, especially when it's 3degrees out. Our room was as cold as outside even with the heat on because they're was a slight opening between the front door and the wall. And the waitress at breakfast ignored our table for the first 10-15 minutes.
Review 103:It is only 1 exit away from loon mountain.
Review 104:breakfast was HORRIBLE. also, got locked out on our balcony. guy came to let us back in our room and added this happens all the time. i think you could afford to upgrade from the simple slider-door-barricade design to avoid this problem.
Review 105:good location
Review 106:Food was good but a VERY long wait for my dinner BOTH night's.
Review 107:I really enjoyed night swimming in the outdoor heated pool. It was snowing and the sounds from the river behind you were relaxing. This is my third time here and look forward to going every time.
Review 108:Everything! Outside and inside pools and hot tubs were great, on premise restaurant food was very good, prices very reasonable. Rooms clean, beds comfortable, staff very friendly. No complaints at all, will return!
Review 109:Bar under staffed Breakfast buffet ran out quickly and had to hang around whilst replenished Faux Indian theme made it look tacky Hate to stay longer than one night
Review 110:Staying in block across the road meant we avoided any noise Reception and restaurant staff were lovely Food good Lovely location under the Indian Head rocks Ideal one night stop over
Review 111:On Friday night, September 19, we ate in the Indian Head restaurant. Wewere sitted at 7:55 pm and received our food at 8:35pm. The waitressnever came over and asked us if we wanted more water, or if there was aproblem. Families all around us were not getting there food either. Itwas also very cold in the restaurant. We had planned to eat breakfastthere on Saturday but would not eat there again.
Review 112:I liked that it was close to Franconia State Park, scenic by ways, waterfalls and Mt. Washington. Great coffee place in North Woodstock andTruants Taveran was great.
Review 113:Thin walls of room, portion sizes in restaurant were far too large which led to a lot of waste, our towels were changed daily despite the Eco policy of only changing them when asked, very noisy extractor fan in our bathroom
Review 114:Location, very comfortable beds, good sized room, views, very friendly & obliging staff, nightly entertainment, good food with plenty of choice
Review 115:The property is in need of renovation, it's pretty beat up. The light outside our unit was out and the room had two beds but they were somewhere but a twin and a queen but not suitable for a couple.
Review 116:The 50" plasma TVs were nice but I didn't travel up to the White Mountains to watch a nice TV.
Review 117:The rug in the room was very stained...The walls in the bathroom and along the vanities were actually gross with stuff on the walls...Afraid to touch anything after that.
Review 118:The staff was more than friendly and helpful and cheerful. Not a grouchy one in the bunch!
Review 119:Didn't get to see any moose :-( (Just a comment - not blaming the hotel)
Review 120:The location was great for exploring the White Mountain area. The surrounding scenery is beautiful and the view from the room made the most of it. The room was very comfortable - clean with lots of space. The hotel had friendly staff and great facilities - it's own lake, restaurant and especially loved the viewing tower.
Review 121:My husband took a fall off of the step leading to the dock and slidacross the dock on his knee and leg. I think they should paint that stepleading to the dock a bright yellow color to let people know they haveto step down to the dock.
Review 122:The two pools and the two Jacuzzis. The food was excellent, also. Iloved using the paddle boats. They also have a great gift shop. Thestaff was very friendly and kind.
Review 123:I didn`t like all babies and kids running around the bar &loungeafter 10pm, false advertisment it is nice that you cater for kids Ibrouht my kids there for seven years and friends when they were youngbut @10pm they need to be out, also from monday thru- thursday you getno service in the lounge.
Review 124:That we had to wait until quarter to five to get our room. We arrived about 2:30 and were told our room wasn't ready and check in was at 4:00. I came back at 4 & was told that the room wasn't cleaned yet and we'd have to wait at least another half hour . When I questioned the check in time I was told it was at four or later. I waited in the lobby and then asked again at 4:40 and they went to check and came back to check me in at 4:45.
Review 125:It was a nice setting with events for kids. We had our 5 yr old granddaughter with us.
