Reviews for Lundeen Inn of the Arts
Review 1:Room was individually decorated, but not very functional, too crowded. An outdated couch is not really something I'm looking for in a hotel room. A little too expensive, after all.
Review 2:Good breakfast
Review 3:hidden...but part of the charm is finding this oasis in the desert.
Review 4:Loved it all, the people the atmosphere the location... Just beautiful all around... Breakfast was good.
Review 5:Nothing negative to report.
Review 6:The house - actually an art gallery too - is comfortable and quiet. The hosts are personable, welcoming and serve a great homemade breakfast.
Review 7:I was made to feel very welcome by Linda and Jerry and their family. So much nicer than staying in an anonymous hotel chain! The room was very comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was also really good, and the double height living/dining space is impressive.
Review 8:The only thing we didn't like was leaving.
Review 9:We loved everything about Lundeen Inn of the Arts in Las Cruces. Linda & Gerry are fascinating people and we enjoyed every minute we spent with them. In the endless string of characterless motels across the United States, their inn is an oasis. We can't wait to stay here again and get to know them better.
Review 10:The property is old and could use some TLC. Also, our bathroom toilet, when flushed, ran (very loudly) for at least 5-minutes before filling & shutting off. The parking is limited and thankfully the property was not full, otherwise parking might be a real problem.
Review 11:The owners were very friendly and served a very good breakfast. Our room was very quiet.
Review 12:I mentioned to Gerald that it would be helpful to have the address number on the outside wall by the entrance; it would make it easier to locate the property.
Review 13:Room and bed was very comfortable, and we thoroughly enjoyed breakfast with the owners Gerald and Linda. We had a wonderful conversation as with long-time friends; we discovered that we have a lot in common with them. Our one night in Las Cruces on our way to Ruidoso was completely enjoyable. We would definitely stay at the Lundeen Inn again! God bless you and keep you!
Review 14:Very quiet, no street noise. Very charming, one of a kind - warm and inviting. The owners are wonderful, interesting people. We were there 2 nights and met some very interesting people at the breakfast table. The sign on the door is true, "Enter as strangers, leave as friends."
Review 15:This comment is not a negative, but if you're traveling and want to get an early start with coffee and breakfast, this might not be a good place. Not a problem with us as we were in no hurry, other than wanting a cup of coffee earlier than it was prepared.
Review 16:The host and hostess are lovely, interesting people. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The inn itself is very interesting with art work and antiques. I would recommend with no hesitation. Yes, it needs some maintenance, but one could/should overlook this when considering the whole experience.
Review 17:We were in a rush on this trip due to a long drive the next day. This was tricky because as sweet as our hosts were, we felt bad trying to get out of there quickly in the morning. Not a place to stay if you have time constraints.
Review 18:The owners are very friendly and made us feel right at home. This is a great place if you like interacting and visiting with other folks. It's nice to know you are supporting a small family business as opposed to a giant corporate hotel.
Review 19:Authentic place with wonderful, committed owners. We loved talking with them and hearing their stories of the house, among other things. Exceptionally friendly service. The rooms are simply magnificent. If you like beautiful places with a soul, this is your place.
Review 20:The Lundeens were wonderful-very hospitable, great conversationalists, excellent breakfast. Very comfortable and interesting boutique/bed and breakfast. Nice spacious grounds. Lovely room. Good central location.
Review 21:The place is very nice, with it's art work and antiques, and multiple places to sit and enjoy a conversation or a drink. The Lundeen's were a pleasure to chat with. They were also very accommodating with our small dogs giving us a room with direct access to the huge and beautiful back yard.
Review 22:Having to leave! What a great comfortable stay.
Review 23:Friendly staff, most comfortable bed I have slept in and the guests were very interesting to meet. YES I WILL STAY AGAIN. I have told others about my stay.
Review 24:That we only stayed one night!
Review 25:The warm reception by Linda and Jerry who made us feel like friends visiting in their home! The cosy yet elegant decoration of the house and room and the excellent waffles freshly made by their daughter, for breakfast.
Review 26:B & B is shabby and in need of a lot of upkeep. Room was dusty and there was black mold growing in the shower. Furniture in the room was old and had seen much better days.
Review 27:Very friendly owners and staff!
Review 28:Although lovely, the facility was a little run down and not as clean as expected.
Review 29:The location and the owners. Very friendly and informative about the area.
Review 30:No bad experiences whatsoever.
Review 31:Food, hospitality, art. In the building. It was most convenient and comfortable. Without hesitation we will try to book here the next time we are in the area.
Review 32:Remarkable experience. If I knew anything about art, I would make some pithy comment about preferring some other style. But I don't but I still found both the art and the building fascinating. The Lundeen family are gracious, interesting and knowledgeable hosts.
Review 33:The staff seemed a little scattered, but I guess that was part of the charm. I had to ask twice for a drinking glass, but they were very nice about bringing one up after the second time.
Review 34:It was an interesting restoration. The little sofa area was nice for reading though definitely no good if you wanted to watch TV. The bed was great.
Review 35:We loved the wonderful old building and the eclectic decor. We didn't know it was a bead and breakfast. Breakfast was delicious and bountiful, though be warned; if you need to leave early you will miss it. It is worth delaying your start.
Review 36:My pillow could have been softer.
Review 37:The hosts are warm and gracious; discussion around the breakfast table was spirited and pleasant. Linda, our hostess, suggested things to see and do during our short stay, and recommended an excellent spot for dinner in Old Mesilla. I want to return!
Review 38:Me, none. My hubby? Didn't feel comfortable having to share a table with so many noisy people chatting. Luckily, no one was a windbag or a right-winger (and oh, boy, you find that a lot in travel), or my hubby would've taken his breakfast to our room, ha ha. Oh, well. Bed and breakfast inns are not for the reserved, or introverted, or intolerant.
Review 39:Warm, personable inn-owner/keepers. Their genuine warmth and desire to make you comfortable overcame all trite imperfections (a bit hard to find, no one at front desk - but came out after I called them on the phone, some dusty shelves). The inn had personality and its furnishing and ambience were very southwest. Built part by part with the hands and creativity of the architect-owner (and his kids). It was quiet and we slept very soundly! Breakfast was lively. Being there was like staying in a quaint provincial family home, and being taken care of by a fussy aunt and quirky uncle who want nothing but the best they can offer in their own very personal way. We'd go back for sure and stay a bit longer.
Review 40:If you like historical buildings and are looking out of the ordinary experience, this is the place for you. A turn of the century building with wonderful art and antique furniture. You might give up a little comfort but it more than made up by the wonderful owners, Breakfast was great for the food and the company.
Review 41:It's a comfortable retreat away from home. We were in a large room that had plenty of space for all of us. Our delicious breakfast was served by our friendly, attentive hosts.
Review 42:Loved the owners of the Lundeen of the Arts!! Very hospitable and made us feel very welcome. We wish we had time to spend another night or spend more time with them. Great price for overall experience!! The food was very good. We would recommend to other travelers.
Review 43:I loved everything.
Review 44:Cozyness, friendly people, and art work.
Review 45:Amazing room definitely booking at this place again.
Review 46:none
Review 47:beautiful architecture, nice owner and great breakfest.
Review 48:Hosts were great, enjoyed the history.
Review 49:Loved the Adobe Home. The Kichen reminded me of My Grandma's. Beautiful Art and Architecture . Nice Folks
Review 50:We really enjoyed our hosts Linda and Jerry. The inn was everything we hoped for and more.
Review 51:Train was loud. Room smelled and was dusty with cobwebs.
Review 52:Location. People were friendly.
Review 53:Very difficult to find
Review 54:Pleasant people and surroundings
Review 55:Nothing to dislike.
Review 56:Th hot breakfast was very substantial and served at the family table.
Review 57:The facility is very well done(by host who is an architect). Wonderful conversation, food and artwork.
Review 58:Overall getting a little tired and needs a good spring cleaning and upgrade.
Review 59:Interesting B&B art gallery.
Review 60:We couldn't get the room as cool as we like it.
Review 61:The proprietor was fabulous and the artwork was breathtaking
Review 62:The owners knew the area and gave us great recommendations for dinner. They went out of their way to fix us an early breakfast.
Review 63:The owners were delightful, joining us for breakfast.
Review 64:enjoyed the room
Review 65:The owners were delightful, and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was a very pleasant chat amongst friends
Review 66:- Breakfast was 2 pancakes + coffee. Upon request they made me an omelette, but 2 pancakes by default for the rate I paid is insufficient. - Had to wait a solid 5 minutes for hot water to come into the shower
Review 67:- Nice setting - Bed-and-breakfast atmosphere - Nice hosts, good conversation
Review 68:Nothing it was perfection!
Review 69:Such a unique place, the owners were lovely. It was so nice having breakfast with the other guests all together. I would stay here again in a heartbeat
Review 70:The bidet in the bathroom was a little weird and difficult to keep my baby out of.
Review 71:Everyone was very friendly, the breakfast was tasty and the back courtyard was a very relaxing place to sit and listen to the birds and trains going by.
Review 72:The lack of a central cooling system wasn't a nice thing. But the fans and open window worked ok. They were working on the cooling system at the time I was staying there
Review 73:The decor was great, the owner very friendly and accomadating.
Review 74:Staying at the Lundeen in of the Arts was a wonderful experience! We felt very welcome and comfortable and loved the house and all the art work. I would recommend staying here to anyone who enjoys a more unique lodging experience.
Review 75:Difficult to find the place, no street level signs. Our small groundlevel room was very worn-out, like the rest of the Inn. Had to cancelour second night stay. More a museum that needs renovation then arecommendable B&B.P.S. for booking the room was advertised as "last one left" ... but we where the only guest at this time!
Review 76:Facilities getting a bit tired, but were very comfortable and welcoming.
Review 77:Family owned, friendly, unique design and decoration. Was most enjoyable stay...we are glad we got to meet the owners and experience their Inn.
Review 78:It is a little difficult to find the place - the street level signage could be improved a bit. The Inn is showing some signs of wear - it is a little shabby and lived in around the edges. It is still comfortable but if someone really enjoys places like the Hilton they probably won't like the Inn.
Review 79:Our hosts, Jerry and Linda, were great - they were very welcoming and friendly. The facility is cozy with lots of local art on the walls, overstuffed furniture and a lived in feeling. It is the kind of place where you feel like you can put your feet up and be as comfortable as you want to be. Breakfast was wonderful - we especially enjoyed the scrambled eggs a la Linda - eggs scrambled with garbanzo beans, corn and cheese. Yum!!
Review 80:Though no fault of the Inn, the road in front of the property is under some construction making it a little confusing to get onto the grounds. However, once you understood how to do it, navigating it was not a problem.
Review 81:Jerry and Linda Lundeen were the consummate hosts. We really enjoyed them. The facility has a wonderful history and was very charming, relaxed and comfortable and the breakfasts were great! We wouldn't hesitate to stay again or to recommend it to friends.
Review 82:Hard to find
Review 83:Quietness Breakfast
Review 84:The signing off the road was poor.
Review 85:Access to downtown was easy. Very interesting and friendly hosts.
Review 86:The hospitality and the owners were friendly and welcoming.
Review 87:We have stayed at Lundeen Inn many times in the past 10 years. It is our preferred lodging in Las Cruces due to owners, amenities and location.
Review 88:Jerry Lundeen compliments the relaxing artistic surroundings. Theenvironment is authentically New Mexican. We will be back.
Review 89:Hotel comfort, artwork, staff and amenities including first class breakfast.
Review 90:Excellent owners. Very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful facility and rooms. Also very pet friendly. I definitely would recommend this inn.
