Reviews for Red Jacket Mountain View Hotel
Review 1:Need better coffee!
Review 2:We loved the warm atmosphere. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Kids loved the Lagoon, games and Horse sleigh ride. Meals were easy and affordable upstairs and down.
Review 3:The food was not to our liking and my friend and I actually had some digestive problems after eating there. Perhaps this was due to a lack of food turnover because so few people were there. Also, the food was over cooked and dry.
Review 4:The staff was very friendly and quite helpful in every way.
Review 5:loud music from bar was not heard in room but near the door, room was near very loud door that slammed all night.
Review 6:Close to everything, good for the value, kids loved the water park, loved the patio with chairs.
Review 7:My daughter in law booked her room with a groupon which was to includethe waterpark and when she got there they told her no it cost $25.00 perperson. We had planned to do the park on Monday as she had two youngchildren who were excited to go. We had to check out on Monday but thewater park did not open until 3pm. Big disappointment! My room which Ibooked through Booking.com was cold unable to adjust temperature keptblowing cold air.
Review 8:The twin bed was a bit to firm for my sleeping.
Review 9:The hotel is located in North Conway New Hampshire and has a great view of the mountain region. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Staff is great and rooms very clean.
Review 10:It's unfortunate you have to pay additional for tickets to the water park, but it's convenient having it there.
Review 11:Lots of things to do with littles.
Review 12:We didn't have a bad experience, would be nice if the water park was included in the price of the stay. It cost an extra $20 per person for the park.
Review 13:Great views, close to shopping and food, lot's of family activities.
Review 14:Paid 196 a night off season and additional fees for water park $60 for each day. Parking is bad had to walk a mile just to get to room. Can't believe the snack shack at water park wanted to charge $10 for a plain Hamburg no fries no bun no drink $10 for hamburger on a plate
Review 15:Staff was very nice, views were great , rooms were comfortable
Review 16:Expensive! Did not realize that Water Park was not included in the hotel room price. Two nights for $512.00 should include the Water Park! My advice is, shop around!
Review 17:Kids friendly, Water Park, view,
Review 18:Everything is an extra charge on top of an already higher rate. The water park cost an extra $100 a day. They offer kids activities such as ceramics painting but it's $15 a piece- not disclosed until you are there.. No breakfast included either.
Review 19:Loved the set up of the loft room- kids enjoyed having their own space. The room was very spacious which was nice.
Review 20:Mattresses seemed old. Could hear children jumping in room above us at all hours of night and early AM. Not at all what we expected for a 4 star hotel and the price. Was looking forward to a luxury hotel, not that at all! Parking was way on the other side of resort. Hard for someone with breathing problems. Had to ask where dining was and only a few choices. Lights in room over bed didn't work.
Review 21:Room was clean. We had a good room location. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 22:Overall my experience was great. The only thought I would have is for the water park. If your children aren't tall enough to ride the big slides I feel u should pay a lesser price
Review 23:Wish dinner menu had bit more options as well as room service they did forget our juice with breakfast but this could be an oversight still would go back
Review 24:Everyone was friendly and accommodating facilities clean plenty of options so we didn't have to leave the resort
Review 25:no ice in the ice machine either time I went should include the water park for free for as much as the room costs. Rooms are overpriced and need to be updated
Review 26:the Kahuna Laguna is great but should be free to hotel guests. Good food at the restaurant
Review 27:I didn't think it was worth the amount we paid per night especially after finding out that the water park was not included in the price. We had to pay an extra $20 per person which the website did not make clear there was an added fee for the water park.
Review 28:The outside pool was amazing with a great view of the mountains. They had fun activities for the kids! The staff was very nice.
Review 29:The water park was an extra fee, full charge for a 3 year old that couldn't go on the slides, only one day of water park for the cost when we were guests of the hotel.
Review 30:Free wifi
Review 31:We came to this location to do some hiking. The lovely woman at the front desk was so happy and helpful and full of excitement that she made our arrival so great.
Review 32:Not a single complaint from me,my wife or daughter.
Review 33:All of the activities and things for everyone to do. The water park and outdoor pool were a perfect way to spend a hot summer day. I will definitely be visiting again.
Review 34:I didn't like the extra charges that aren't explained on line or by employees. The water park and a cot for the room. The cot fee showed up on my debit acct. the day after I left. With 20% in taxes
Review 35:Liked all the amenities
Review 36:The room had a bad odor and the ceiling in the bathroom was leaking onto the toilet. Not a pleasant experience to be dripped on while in the bathroom.
Review 37:I love the location. The food and service in the dining room was wonderful. All the staff members were very pleasant and helpful. My granddaughter loved the pool and water park.
Review 38:We brought our own dinner since we like to eat healthy and not eat out a lot while on vacation, and there was no microwave in the rooms to heat it so we had to go out to eat.
Review 39:The front desk people were really nice.
Review 40:The only issue I had was that they closed the pool for a private function one of the afternoon's after we got back from Story Land which forced me to pay to go to Kahuna Laguna when I hadn't anticipated having to do that every evening.
Review 41:The staff was super friendly, kind and helpful!!!
Review 42:Super Sonic Intermittently loud AC unit on our last night. Amazingly loud.
Review 43:We loved the outdoor pool and adjacent exercise room, its kept clean and available. The water park is great, especially if it rains out! Kids go nuts for the loft rooms. HELPFULL friendly staff !
Review 44:The room did not have a microwave. Also hotel should provide free water park use to hotel guests.
Review 45:The staff was friendly. Property maintained well and hotel is clean. Plenty for children to do at hotel.
Review 46:The restaurant on the second floor, my child was sick for most of our vacation, expensive also, horrible margaritas
Review 47:Friendly staff, close to everything, enough activities for the kids
Review 48:As a guest of the hotel, I would think the water park would be included in the price. The cost to stay at the Red Jacket are significant, I was surprised and disappointed the water park was not included.
Review 49:The loft in the room with kids was ideal!
Review 50:Beds in standard rooms are double - would have preferred queen size.
Review 51:We were with 5 children ages 5 mos to 16 and there was something for everyone. Did not eat breakfast or dinner on site, but lunch was tasty and available poolside, which was a real plus. Rooms big enough to add crib and/or cot without feeling crowded.
Review 52:The hot water in the shower went from cold to extremely HOT!!! No in between- I actually was burned by the water... And the room smelled musty and damp. Could have been cleaner and upgraded for this price point.
Review 53:The outdoor pool was great and the grounds of the hotel was a fun kid-friendly the atmosphere!!
Review 54:I did not like the mattress. Old lumpy and I could feel springs.
Review 55:Pool was clean. If you have a chance to go to the water park it was awesome. Water was not freezing. Room was clean.
Review 56:Moved kids beds together to find popcorn under the bed.. Wall paper peeling & outdated decor. Floor outlet without a cover so you could see the wires. Dangerous seeing how it was in the loft where kids were sleeping. No events on days we stayed such as outdoor movie, indoor movie, crafts. Had them at outlet previous stay so didn't mind the resort fee. And of they do charge the fee include the water park!
Review 57:Friendly staff, good location
Review 58:Hated the cleaning chemicals they used to clean rugs/hallways. Mademe nauseous every time I traveled through. The Bed was so darn hard.Lost lots of sleep. We ordered from food from the Palmer s Restaurant atabout 8pm. The 1st Burger they sent up for my husband was so raw we hadto send it back. I ordered the fried Haddock, it was sssoooo overcooked. I only picked at it. When my husband received his second burgerit was like a hockey puck. Oh I asked the waitress if they had anythingto munch on while we wait for food like popcorn, chis or pretzels? Shekindly replied " oh I can get you some rolls " We agreed. Theyhad to be the worst rolls I ever had. I don't complain much. I am aneasy going person but you asked. Thank you Denise LeBlanc
Review 59:Check in clerks were very nice and gave us an upgrade to our room forour 25th anniversary along with a surprise bottle of Champagne. We thankthem for that. Was a nice surprise
Review 60:Breakfast was great, but wasn't explained that it wasn't a free continental breakfast. We only found out when the waitress asked if we had a pre-bought ticket or if we needed the bill. My husband and I were confused and looked at each other and said we needed the bill because we didn't want to look stupid. Would of been prepaid a little better if breakfast was explained to us at check in, which it wasn't.
Review 61:Friendliness of staff, activities. Size of the room was great. Water park was great, my daughter LOVED it.
Review 62:we had a booked a simpler room, because they didn't have a room available for us the upgraded us for the for the presidential villas. It was the most amazing experience that I ever had in a resort before!
Review 63:No microwave in the room or lounge area. Makes it difficult if you have to heat baby food or milk.
Review 64:Facilities, indoor park, pool, lounge area, the view were all great.
Review 65:Expensive. Frustrating to pay full price everyday for water park. Especially when traveling with a young child who cannot use the upstairs portion.
Review 66:Staff is always very nice.
Review 67:check out was loud and rushed, housekeeping was loud a little too early, none of the resort features were discussed
Review 68:the room was clean, the restaurant was nice,
Review 69:The bottoms of the pools at Kahuna Laguna really should be looked into. Everyone in my family including family members of friends we were with, our feet and knees were very scraped up to the point where my son had a hard time walking the next day. No issues with the hotel, just Kahuna Laguna.
Review 70:water in wave pool is just horriable so salty and i'm now home with a terriable rash from it spent 45 minutes in the shower to wash off the salt feeling argh
Review 71:great breakfast
Review 72:The smell in the hallways was off putting, probably from the cleaners used.
Review 73:The staff at this hotel was both personable and inviting. They interacted with the guests as if we were family. I was impressed with the amount of activities planned around kids and families, hot cocoa and to roasted marshmallows, and wii games in the common area were a few things we partook in. The water park is also phenomenal.
Review 74:Beds are low quality , room price for what we got was very disappointing. Would have been nice to have a small couch for children to sit at while watching cartoons in the am. All the carpet smelled like stinky feet from all the water coming in and out the building. Had breakfast the first morning at the buffet and found the longest black hair in the plate of food, was pulling it out of the food when the waiter Chris showed up, he stated that no one had long hair like that within the staff, offered to take the plate so we could remake the food. I then became more aware of the guests using utensils ect and children sticking their fingers into the buffet style container to taste things, so we didn't go back. The kids enjoyed the water park however the price was pretty high to not even get a discount for another time as a paid guest made me feel taken advantage of as another guest told me the pkg price they got and with 4 tickets to the park wasn't even half the cost I paid for the dusty room. Seems that if an outside pool is part of the package in good weather they should offer something included during the cold weather for water enjoyment. Overall did not feel it was a good value for money spent! Sad
Review 75:Water park and not too bad with noise except other guests walking by room outside the door.
Review 76:I thought the tv was out dated no movie channels offered and being in a basement room that smelled of kerosene.
Review 77:I liked the water park and I thought the restaurant was good.
Review 78:Beds horrible. Most bartenders horrible. Front desk at check out horrible. Over billed still trying to fix o er $700 ERROR. behind doors toilet and nightstand super dusty and gross.
Review 79:Waitstaff was great. Bartenders worse i have ever seen. Ever. Didn't know basic tending skills except for Christopher. Water park is fine. Arcade fine.
Review 80:You are really paying for convenience. The decor of the room was slightly outdated and there was a slightly musty smell on the first floor. The restaurant was pricey so we ate elsewhere.
Review 81:The staff were very friendly and the water park is a great attraction. We would come back as a treat for the kids but not for a romantic get away.
Review 82:I love the loft rooms! The rooms makes it easier for my large family to stay together. We have visited for the past six years, yearly in December to shop and enjoy the holiday festivities. The wagon rides are so sweet. The waterpark has something for everyone. My kids love the morning buffet and look forward to this every year. It is a relaxing all-you-can-eat breakfast with a beautiful view of the mountains. We can't wait to go back!
Review 83:A$20 resort fee with N O benefits . No pool for kids etc where many other hotels in area have one. Indoor park good asset but did not open until noon and there was a$20 charge to use it. That is fine but do not charge a reset fee too!!!!
Review 84:Staff did not give out much information about the faculties, activities or about water park. I had ask few questions to get the information. This was my first visit. Please provide a welcome information kit.
Review 85:Room was good and comfortable. Water park was just the right size and easily accessible. We will definitely go back.
Review 86:They advertise this as a mountain view - your view is a parking lot! They state they include the water park w/stay; but we were billed separate. Room is outdated.
Review 87:Location, breafkast and the evening events.
Review 88:Would rather be on ground level'' T.V. out of date'''Everything else was GREAT!!!!!!!
Review 89:Loved the staff''food--no flat screen tv in our room???the weather was fantastic!!!!
Review 90:Very disappointed at the location! We were looking forward to a mountain retreat, but it is on the main road in town. Very noisy! All the sounds we hear from our condo in town.
Review 91:The server in the bar was very nice and did a great job.
Review 92:value of waterpark. We were under the impression it was included in hotel room. It cost us $80 for our 3 yr old, 4 yr old and two parents. Not worth the money. And no true pool to swim. And we were not allowed to use our kid's floaties or noodles. Not a good experience.
Review 93:snacks in lobby made my kids happy, room was clean, playground/outdoor space was nice
Review 94:Funny odor in hallways Staff overwhelmed in resturants Events not explained at check in ( water park closes mid morning for several hours, nightly movies not told about..)
Review 95:It has a great location . Water park a huge plus Rooms clean
Review 96:Champney's dinner menu is limited. Seafood Newburg: the seafood was fine but the "newburg" sauce wasn't a newburg and was in fact pretty dreadful. Not a dining destination.
Review 97:Terrific outdoor heated pool. Nice view of the Moat Range. Friendly staff. Easy, comfortable place to stay, especially with children. Good breakfast buffet (but not inexpensive).
Review 98:Having to pay additionally to utilize the water park. We paid a large amount to stay there one night , breakfast and dinner were pricey as well. Overall it doesn't make it conducive for families to stay there longer :( we would have loved to stay 2 or 3 nights vs just 1 but just couldn't manage it moneywise.
Review 99:This is the ideal place to visit with a young family given the many things available to do. I remember the night we stayed the woman at the front desk asked the man who does the smores to stay out a little later since we were finishing dinner and we were worried the kids might miss it (we were having a late dinner). They are do hospitable there !
Review 100:We had a garden room on the first floor and in the room directly above there were obviously children running and stomping and jumping until well after10 pm, which was not a very pleasant experience, I The bathroom could have been a little cleaner. The television remote was broken.
Review 101:The food and the water park, easy access, the staff this time we stayed at the front desk didn't seem as pleasant as our stay last year. The mountain view rooms seemed a little nicer than the garden view rooms
Review 102:There were pistachio shells underneath the bed from the previous guests and a used washed cloth as well. Not worth the price you pay for the hotel.
Review 103:We liked the friendliness of the staff. Water park was good as well.
Review 104:missing waterslide that is safe for kids 4-5 years old to go alone but lasts more than 3 seconds. This will be a non-issue once my kids are taller and can go on big slides alone. extra charge for the most interesting kids activities (e.g. ceramic painting) exaggerations such as advertised "bonfire" activity which was just a regular campfire.
Review 105:building is beautiful friednly and helpful staff breakfast buffet wagon rides for kids cleanliness great location - close to shopping outlets guest internet computer
Review 106:We have vacationed here a few times over the years and we are never disappointed. Stall friendly, food great, rooms comfy. Lots of activities. Love it at the Red Jacket!!!
Review 107:The breakfast options were limited to expensive buffets. Dinner was a disappointment, especially for the price.
Review 108:Our primary reason for going to North Conway was to visit Story Land. Red Jacket was close enough to it to be convenient, although the roads are hard pressed to accommodate the volume of summer traffic. The water park, heated pool, playground, and arcade are what makes the Red Jacket truly a good place for children.
Review 109:The room with the loft had a rod iron railing about 3 feet high was very loose. Ended up moving to a room with an alcove and bunk beds. Would never would have booked that room with small children. Staircase to the loft had 1 railing going up on the wall and no railing on the outside. Not a room for small children.(ages 2&3).
Review 110:Buffett was good, outdoor pool very nice and activities were good.
Review 111:For the price of the room, we wished that breakfast was included without charge. We also wished the indoor park was included in the price of the room as well, instead of an additional charge. I asked for a garden view and received a room with a view of the pool and front entrance instead.
Review 112:That there were many activities to keep our kids happy and occupied.
Review 113:I did not like the view from our room (garden view), the temperature of the shower was not easily adjustable, tv and furnitures were outdated, the loft was not safe for kids at all (handrail was too low).
Review 114:I liked the discount for the indoor pool.
Review 115:Air conditioning had a musty odor when turned on - Rm 343. Maybe the filter needs to be changed. Other than that, I will definitely be booking another vacation there.
Review 116:We did not have to leave the resort looking for things to do. Everything was right there from entertainment, food and activities for the children.
Review 117:My room was noise Because it's near the stairs And i think the ground (Parquet) need change.
Review 118:Location and view And people were friendly
Review 119:Indoor water park and breakfast should be included in the hotel rate.
Review 120:Everthing was perfect
Review 121:Beds are small.
Review 122:The waterpark, location and service is excellent.
Review 123:It was not snowing.
Review 124:Pool
Review 125:Should be like Coco keys. And don't have to pay to get in the water park.
Review 126:Great location nice views
Review 127:The food
Review 128:The cleanliness of the room
Review 129:House cleaning was not thorough at all
Review 130:Water park was fun for my daughter and myself
Review 131:bed was terrible-too small
Review 132:overall good
Review 133:Buffet is too expensive for what you get and can eat...
Review 134:Like the convenience to everything in the area...
Review 135:Decor needs updating
Review 136:Pool and indoor water park
Review 137:Awesome views, friendly and helpful staff, amazing location and delectable food.
Review 138:Enjoyed!
