Reviews for Inn on Broadway

Review 1:The folks at the desk were very helpful and offered assistance before we were finished asking for it about locating restaurants, ordering taxis and getting information about hours of operation for nearby businesses.

Review 2:The hotel needs some updating and our room needed some minor repairs.

Review 3:Staff and breakfast buffet was very nice. Hotel was comfortable and we had what we needed. We were close to Rupp Stadium. Good price.

Review 4:Elevator did not work during checkout. Had to lug bags down stairwell.

Review 5:Location to UK Volleyball Arena. Very clean facility. Front desk attendant very cooperative in finding 2 locations for us.

Review 6:The staff was not knowledgeable about the area and didn't willingly offer information. She also did not tell us our total before charging the credit card.

Review 7:The rooms were nicely decorated and well kept.

Review 8:Although this is an older hotel, we found it to be clean, hospitable, and situated in a great location. It was a non-issue for us that the TVs are not flat-screen TVs; they worked just fine in meeting our needs. The staff was helpful and nice. We will definitely stay there again if our travels take us to Lexington, Kentucky.

Review 9:Some of the younger people staying on the floor were a bit noisy, but they went out soon after I arrived. Definitely not the fault of the hotel, but their chaperons.

Review 10:The bed was comfortable and the desk clerk very hospitable. The room was very nice.

Review 11:Breakfast was mediocre at best. Some items were depleted, and the "scrambled" eggs were weird. There was a decent variety of pastries.

Review 12:The room was spacious, quiet, and clean. Mirror and counter outside of the bathroom was very helpful. Staff were very helpful.

Review 13:CARPETS IN THE HALLS WERE VERY DATED AND DIRTY. ALSO THE TILEWORK GROUT IN OUR BATHROOM WAS MOLDING AND CRACKING AND THE SHOWER LEVER ON THE BATH FIXTURE WAS STUCK.

Review 14:THE SPACIOUSNESS OF OUR ROOM AND THE BEDS WERE COMFORTABLE. THIS WAS A REALLY GOOD ROOM FOR THE PRICE.

Review 15:The staff make this place, you just feel welcome and that nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are big and comfortable, the local bus into the city is right outside and it's one of the nearest hotels to Keeneland.

Review 16:The wifi connection was very poor but that's my only complaint!

Review 17:The staff was very helpful, got us checked in quickly and even recommended a great cab service to where we were wanting to go and provided us with the number. Great location with a great price and I loved our room, spacious yet homey feeling. Beds were nice, I slept very well!

Review 18:Breakfast inadequate, out of coffee most of the time. Little choice jellies, butter, no fruit, juice bad quality. Breakfast bad. Bathroom not clean, hairs in bath.

Review 19:Staff friendly.

Review 20:damp musty smell, thermostat with two choices, AC or Heat: full on, or not at all.

Review 21:Staff very friendly, location reasonably convenient to university, downtown and track. adequate parking, easy exits despite busy street. large rooms.

Review 22:Ran out of coffee in AM on Saturday. Staff didn't seem to care. Beds arranged so that cold air blows directly on your head

Review 23:the price The staff during the week is a lot nicer and accommodating than the week end staff.

Review 24:Beds were uncomfortable. Some kind of thin foam that made sides higher o the edges and too soft in the center. Rolled to the center.....

Review 25:Convenience to Keeneland and resturaunts. Refrigerator in room was nice.

Review 26:The beds were doubles and too short. My husband is 6 foot tall and his feet hung over the bed. Also, even though the room was huge, it needed updates-ceiling peeling, carpet dingy and had a hump in it and the beds. My husband said we can't handle the bed situation.

Review 27:Loved the location! Perfect location for UK family weekend. The football stadium is about 1 1/2 miles from this hotel so we walked to and from the game.

Review 28:Ac is incredibly old. Room was incredibly cold when we got there. Weturned it off but it took the whole night to warm up a little.

Review 29:Beds were very comfy, shower was great. Very clean and good breakfast.

Review 30:See above

Review 31:First room had a bed that tipped over , freezing cold until thermostat adjusted, desk staff on checkin was MIA , furnishings were newly remodeled cheaply. Second room was adequate but decor was cheaply renovated . Customers were lower class (I.e man in front of lobby passed out with bottle of booze on table next to him..@ 1239 am .many smokers hovering entrance.)

Review 32:The smell of chlorine or cleaning products in my room and the hallway was overpowering and very unpleasant. I appreciate that you clean, but those products you used smell terrible.

Review 33:The staff was great!

Review 34:Bad TV's not that I watched them much but we had two and one had only the color red and the other was just a little better but way out dated. I also had trouble on my computer with the WiFi it was free but not any strong signals and kept losing my connection every 3 minutes. Husbands seem to keep connected all the time so may be my computer wasn't powered for their WiFi.

Review 35:Staff was great and the breakfast was just okay but what you get at all of the places now a days.

Review 36:Some minor refreshing was needed on some painted surfaces.

Review 37:The room was very nice. The staff was very nice and parking was easy and close to the entrances.

Review 38:Everything else is supper old including the whole building. bathroom have missed tiles at some spot. The room is clean but smells dusty and old damp.

Review 39:The mattress is really comfortable. The staff are super nice.

Review 40:Ceiling in bathroom was peeling. Curtains had dirt or mold. Carpet had lumps. Televisions were old SD sets. Breakfast was poor quality.

Review 41:Good location. Large suite. Good price.

Review 42:Our bed was very large which was great but sagged in the middle. Bedroom could do with a little updating.

Review 43:Amanda on reception was excellent. Facilities were very clean. Was good value for money.

Review 44:Large group of smokers always congregated by the door to the parking lot. Made entering and exiting building very awkward.

Review 45:Very large rooms and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 46:Carpets in hallways and room need replaced. My room had a few mold spots on ceiling above shower

Review 47:Friendly lady at front desk. Lobby and breakfast area looked nice.Beds were comfortable.

Review 48:Tub/tile bath was somewhat worn. Seemed to be approaching need forrenovation. Breakfast was not really. No fruit, waffle maker......itemsI typically see.

Review 49:Great room size, Layout and furnishings. High ceiling provided greatvolume. No pinch points in travel within room. The tv size was a littlesmall. Great to have the hvac unit in a location other than below thewindow. Great counter staff (at check and out). Overhearing my daughterhad forgotten her phone charger, the manager produced one from the left-behind-stock. Great.

Review 50:Nothing bad that I can think of.

Review 51:Love the large room. Absolutely loved the great value. Cannot believe I paid $90 and change for this huge room. Was only 2 of us, but could've been 5 or even more, since the couch was a sleeper. Bed was the most comfortable that I've ever experienced. Staff was very friendly. Was very close to Rupp Arena, only less than a 10 minute drive. Didn't get the breakfast since we got up so late after a late night of partying after the Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach, In This Moment concert. Definitely would recommend this hotel.

Review 52:My first floor room was pretty dark and kind of worn. There was no window in the living room, only the bedroom. The carpet had seen better days and the furniture was nice but old and a bit worn. That said, I didn't feel weird about walking around barefoot. Be warned that rooms near the middle of the first floor are right next to the lobby which was quite loud most of the time I was in my room. It did quiet down at night, though. In addition, I closed the door to my bedroom and that helped quite a bit.

Review 53:I stayed one night only while visiting the UK campus and local family. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Room 1507 (first floor) was large and set up as a suite with a separate bedroom and bath from the smallish living room. I travel for work and have stay in 15-18 hotels a year. The beds here were right up there with the most comfortable I've enjoyed. Plain and basic, but firm with a memory foam topper that was just right for me. The pillows were surprisingly nice as well. Bathroom was acceptably clean (I'm kind of a stickler) and the tub was jetted and deep. I didn't try it though. My room had a microwave and small refrigerator as well as a desk, which was useful.

Review 54:Our room was freezing cold and located on a corner with a lot of light and noise coming in window. We could not close drapes. Room temp very cold when we arrived.

Review 55:Location and friendliness of staff

Review 56:Not enough light in room.

Review 57:Desk clerk, (Sherman, I think) was extremely helpful and courteous. Room was clean and comfortable with the exception of the beds being too firm for my taste.

Review 58:No direct driveway into the property. Had to go thought the hotel property next door to Inn on Broadway.

Review 59:Staff did try to answer questions. We were trying to find out nearby places to eat.Person who checked us in was new and did not know the area very well.

Review 60:Staff was aware that internet access was below poor but did nothing, business center was pre 1985 awful they cared less. Very poor.

Review 61:Staff was very friendly

Review 62:While the space in the suite was wonderful, the dark, windowless "living room" was a bit depressing and claustrophobic. An outside patio or quiet common area would have alleviated that. Still. Great place to stay.

Review 63:The beds were amazingly comfortable. Best ever. And the entire staff was charming. The helpfulness and hospitality made for a lovely stay.

Review 64:Breakfast was poor. The scrambled eggs had been sitting in the cooker & bowl when we checked in at 1.30am! Bathroom was not fully cleaned - a long hair in the bathroom sink but at 1.30am wasn't going to call Reception about it!

Review 65:Room and bed extremely comfortable.

Review 66:The maintenance man was repairing a lock at the room next door at 9:20am . Sounded like he was using an impact gun . Had the "do notdisturb " sign on the door ! oh well

Review 67:The beds were kinda hard and the bathroom could use a "facelift", but overall we had a pleasant stay.

Review 68:The staff was very friendly and helpful and our room was very clean.

Review 69:It was good from start to finish. 2 minutes to check in. Good parking. Friendly staff. Great breakfast WITH eggs not just bagels like so many. All at a price about half of Hyatt or Hilton. what's not to like????!!!!

Review 70:The breakfast was good, but the same items everyday, it was the worse part of the stay. There also was one staff member, an Asian lady behind the desk usually daytime, she was on the heavier side, she never said anything, but she looked very unhappy to be there, kinda of a made me feel like she was unapproachable.

Review 71:Quiet atmoshere, awesome staff, nice memory foam mattress. I am handicapped and I enjoyed the easy access to our room.

Review 72:Could not identify anything negative about my stay.

Review 73:Really nice, good value, super nice staff. Older place, but very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again!

Review 74:Said free wifi, not the case! Be prepared to use your own data. Facility dated. From pictures thought the room was more like a condo. Just a hotel room.

Review 75:The availability of chairs and easy access to go between beach and pool.

Review 76:There could have been a better breakfast option, and our wifi in our room was extremely weak and almost nonexistent at times

Review 77:The staff was amazing and extremely nice and helpful. The bed and bedding were also extremely comfortable.

Review 78:The smell of the first room I had stayed in and the eggs in the morning.

Review 79:The people were very nice and very accomodating. The rooms were huge and supplied lots of towels. The breakfast was a nice touch.

Review 80:The desk clerk, Sherman, was very courteous and helpful. He gave us a map and hi-lighted the route we would need to take to see various attractions. He offered his honest opinion on things which we found refreshing.

Review 81:Didn't like the grainy, imitation eggs or whatever they were. One taste and had to throw them out. Biscuits and gravy are a good idea but biscuits were hard.

Review 82:It was so quiet when we stayed. UK, horse racing town on summer break. I slept well--not a lot of extra night lighting and noise in hallway.

Review 83:Location was excellent, everything we did was within a short drive. Loved the pillows, only needed to use one to be comfortable instead of two very thin one. Staff courteous and helpful. Hotel room nice and clean.

Review 84:My car broke down on way to Inn. Called and no answer. Called second time and no answer. Being wrapped up in finding a place to tow my car I then had to find a row company to tow it after I tried to replace $300 worth of parts! Didn't make it to check in so called next day and they charged me more then if I would have made it there!!! Poor poor customer service!

Review 85:The carpeting in King Suite was loose and I tripped over the carpet several times. Also, the mattress on the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable.

Review 86:Sherman, the young man at the front desk when we checked in, was very polite and seemed eager to make our stay a pleasant one.

Review 87:There was trash under the sofa seat cushions. Sofa was dirty. Door oncloset had loose hardware so that in order to close it, you had to useyour hand ending in finger pinch. Ow! No trash can in bedroom. Hard bed.Loud partiers outside my window until 4:00am. Dead flowers/dirt inplanters at front door weren't very inviting.

Review 88:Free breakfast; frontdesk staff were polite and helpful

Review 89:Breakfast was very average at best.

Review 90:Hotel easy to find. Room was more like a junior suite, however needs updated, but everything was working and the staff were friendly and helpful. good parking

Review 91:The wifi kept quitting. We had a room next to the "engine" room...where all the controls were, ice maker, etc. constant noises. Dark room.

Review 92:Friendly staff.

Review 93:Minor things. The towels were what you'd get at the gym. The wifi was slow and spotty. The mattresses were a bit stiff. Breakfast options were just okay. A large group of contract workers hovered around the side door smoking and drinking at all hours, giving the place a slightly shady feel.

Review 94:The room was huge and very clean. The staff was friendly. The location was relatively convenient to downtown and the University. Bed linens were good quality. Breakfast room was spacious and comfortable.

Review 95:The outside of the hotel looks run down. I was considering finding a new hotel when I pulled up and walking into the hotel. I got inside and instantly changed my mind.

Review 96:The inside was beautiful

Review 97:They don't have a pool, but we weren't prepared to stayovernight in the first place so it really didn't matter haha

Review 98:As soon as we arrived, we were greeted. The man at the front desk,Sherman, was extremely helpful in checking in and helping us find lastminute entertainment and food delivery! Sherman deserves a raise :) Thiswas, by far, the best experience I've had in a hotel!

Review 99:We only had one working lamp in the room, which was weird. Kind of stingy with the towels but always got clean ones. Cheap shampoo and soap, but they got the job done. All in all, a good value for the price.

Review 100:Location was really convenient, price was great, and hotel was clean and pretty quiet. Decent continental breakfast. Small gym, but enough machines to get a workout every morning.

Review 101:Was older hotel but was nice. Only thing and wasn't a problem at all

Review 102:The room was a great size to accomadate the whole family. Was a trip due to illiness and really helped bring able to stay in one room. Was close to hospitals.

Review 103:Housekeeping missed cleaning our room the first day. Also the dining chairs were very soiled as well as the carpeting. Most days the only choice of breakfast was cereal.

Review 104:The staff was friendly and helpful

Review 105:the breakfast bar had things like cold cereal, yogurt, bagels, mini muffins and one day they had gravy. They may have more on weekends, but this was during the week.

Review 106:the location was very good easy to get to where you need to be. It was very clean.

Review 107:Breakfast wasn't super impressive, all you need to do to make any breakfast good is a waffle maker… ha ha ha.

Review 108:the layout on the king bed rooms, i like how there's a separate room with couch, if we were staying for a few days, i would have utilized it.

Review 109:Water stains on walls of suite; musty smell; dead insects in desk drawer and shower; lots of Febreze in hallways, and I am allergic to fragrances

Review 110:Good window coverage for late-morning risers.

Review 111:It needs remodeled. Needs paint, needs wall paper, needs carpet. There are stains everywhere. Disgusting and unsanitary. I'd be ashamed if it were my hotel.

Review 112:The top of the fridge still had large crumbs on it from the previous person. The fridge needed to be defrosted. The microwave had crumbs in it.

Review 113:I liked the roominess of the King suite. I liked the soft king bed and I liked the free wifi. I also liked having hot water in the morning for showers.

Review 114:The early morning noise was unpleasant.

Review 115:The room was private. The location very good. A little lowed from the nearby stores unloading stock early in the a.m. however nice stay

Review 116:The TV remote did not work in the bedroom, so we were stuck on one channel there. The person at the front desk was polite and tried to help, but nothing was done. The shower diverter was not working and the drains needed rodding. The carpet is old and ugly.

Review 117:The location is close to the University of Kentucky campus. There are stores and restaurants nearby as well. We had a suite, which gave us more space to relax.

Review 118:Breakfast was like every other continental breakfast, nothing special.

Review 119:layout of the room was unique and comfortable, high ceilings, AWESOME water pressure, good location

Review 120:It is difficult to get to. It used to be part of the Campbell House, so you have to turn into that property to get there. This also made it difficult for our Uber driver to find it. Once you know, it's not really a problem though.

Review 121:This was a fabulous Hotel. The facility is older but the room was huge and it is close to UK.

Review 122:When I got there, I was tired and in a rush. I got up to my room with my luggage, and had to go back down to the desk because my room keys did not work. The towels were scratchy and the carpet was a little stained in the room, but nothing drastic.

Review 123:The Hotel was fine for my short stay. It was clean, served my purpose well, and was a good deal.

Review 124:There wasn't really anything I didn't like. I did think it was a little funny that this hotel was kind of like the carriage house to hotel next door, which might have been a little more luxury, but that didn't detract from our experience.

Review 125:The room was spacious, the staff was friendly, and the bed was very comfortable. The room could use some updating, but it was very clean and comfortable. The room had a microwave and a sink, kind of like a mini kitchen, and a living room, of sorts, separate from the bedroom, with another TV and an arm chair. The breakfast was pretty good. They had biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs, which made me happy. I was hoping for sausage or bacon, but what they had was sufficient.

Review 126:We only stayed here for 30 minutes as it was so bad. Stains on carpet, chairs, sheets and dried food (or possibly vomit) on the nightstand. We switched to the Campball House next door. A million times better.

Review 127:Location.

Review 128:I've stayed here 4 times in the past 6 months doing business in downtown Lex. Neglect is operative word here. Rooms have worn stained carpet, old furnishings & small bathrooms. There is a "musty" smell about the whole building. Had to move rooms due to housekeeping neglect, not fun after a long drive and late check in. I won't stay here again until property owner/mgmt addresses an update.

Review 129:Location and comfortable bed for $112.00 with tax. Front Desk accomodating and friendly.

Review 130:This is across the street from an apparent busy hospital. .traffic and ambulance sirens all night..it was hot in my room and when I called down to inquire how to adjust the heat I learned that the entire place is set on a boiler system so everyone's room is the same temperature.the bed was old and what seemed to be a memory foam mattress had been placed on top of it...I am 5'2 and the bed was super low to the ground even for me...I was not impressed with the cleanliness of my room either. It is an old building but the baseboards and walls and doors were obviously needing scrubbed..my two night stay turned into a one night stay..I just couldn't stay another night

Review 131:The guest service people were friendly

Review 132:They could update TV's. Pillows were plentiful but a little too hard for me. You may want to take your own if you use a soft pillow.

Review 133:Location is close to UK and also downtown. Rooms are large and clean. The free breakfast was nothing special, but items were fresh and a good variety to choose from in the morning.

Review 134:if you need the wifi for work this is not a good choice as it only worked occasionally.

Review 135:the rooms were clean, everything is close and it is small so you can get in and out quickly. The rooms were very spacious

Review 136:The beds were terrible. They are hard and you can feel the springs. Time for an update here. Wallpaper peeling off the walls. This place could be a real gem but it needs some updating!

Review 137:Staff was friendly and courteous and the place was clean for the most part

Review 138:a little dated but I knew what i was getting when I read the reviews and the room was better than expected actually!

Review 139:Staff was very freindly and when i couldn't get the wifi hooked up I went down to the front desk and Sherman was most gracious to set it up for me. Was fine in room the rest of the saty which was 2 nights.

Review 140:We found the person serving breakfast not especially friendly. Didn't greet us nor did she even look our way. Just made coffee and check supplies.

Review 141:We liked the size of the room. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were great. I usually bring my own pillow, but found I could use the pillows in this room successfully. Man who checked us in was very friendly.
