Reviews for The Mirage
Review 1:Problems with using wifi in our room. There were only 2 of us with 1 IPAD each that we wanted to use and only 1 worked the entire 2 day nights we stayed there. It was very frustrating especially since that is ALL that we use of ANY resort fee they throw at us. We are not pool or gym people etc.
Review 2:The view from our room onto the volcano/strip.
Review 3:Check in person was not friendly or informative about the hotel. Only one exit onto Las Vegas blvd Did not restock mini bar Charged incorrectly for items consumed from mini bar
Review 4:Dining facilities very nice with friendly staff Dealers at tables very friendly
Review 5:Smoking inside the Casino downstairs. Pool and Spa close too early and open too late. Basically can only be used if you stay more than for one night.
Review 6:Location was very convenient, also the free parking.
Review 7:Rude and unhelpful staff, extremely long hallways to walk down to get to your room, spotty internet, lack of outlets to plug in electronics, old furniture in rooms
Review 8:Good location right on the strip, comfortable beds, lots of action in the hotel
Review 9:It's a pretty sneaky to pay in advance for the room and then suddenly an additional resort fee that makes the whole stay more than 40% more pricy! But that might be a trick of the booking website and not the mirage
Review 10:Athmosphere in the casino and fascilities. Very good rooms. Nice staff!
Review 11:Pool closure at four pm, weight sensitive mini bar b.s. Afraid to bump the counter it rests on, unusable fridge, moldy tasting cheesecake at Carnegies, room wouldn't cool down, front desk check out gal was rude.
Review 12:View
Review 13:Having to walk through the smoky casino to get to the elevator bank. Researched before and understood that my son could be on the casino floor as long as he wasn't on the gaming carpet and we were asked to leave.
Review 14:Easy to get to, parking was a breeze, super friendly staff
Review 15:It was an unpleasant surprise that Nevada still allows smoking indoors (restricted to gambling areas). One has to go through a cloud of tobacco smoke while on the way from hotel entrance to the elevators.
Review 16:Rooms are well equipped and clean. Views are amazing.
Review 17:My only complaint is that we had a hard time with the internet (which is free) and the tv. Both weren't working like they should. Basically we couldn't watch any tv. We had called to let them know about it and offered to send someone up but we were only staying 2 days so decided not to bother. Not a huge deal since we weren't there to watch tv but would of been nice when we got back to the hotel after a long day to just zone out.
Review 18:The Mirage was great! Nice big room with a very comfortable king size bed. The hotel is in a very centralized location making it easy to get to the other hotels. We had an amazing view of The Strip & volcano! The staff were all super nice & very helpful and the resort was so much fun & beautiful to walk around! Also, they allow small dogs so we were able to bring our puppy with us!
Review 19:I didn't like the zoo the animals are in tiny enclosures and felt extremely cruel. It's $22 each so abit of a con. Vegas was tiring and I guess people don't go there to relax but there isn't really anywhere to relax in the hotel other than your room. Walking through the casino to get to your room started to get draining after the 3rd day. I loved Vegas but 4 nights is plenty believe me. I also didn't like the vanilla smell they pump into the casino but they all seem to do it. I would definitely stay at the Mirage again though it's a lot of fun.
Review 20:We had a great time at the Mirage. It's a huge hotel and very busy but doesn't seem as vast as say Caesars or Bellagio which is a good thing. Rooms are easy to get to. Our room was right by the elevator and overlooked the strip. Great view! Rooms are very spacious and the bed super comfy. I loved the volcano so funny! The casino is great - tip if you're jet lagged only gamble in the mornings you're sure to lose your money at night. We would also only win when we were the only ones at the table (roulette). The location is phenomenal there is so much at this end of the strip. Very clean hotel with huge choice of restaurants - The Pantry is great for breakfast.
Review 21:Room at back of hotel woke up during the night by freight trains going past every 2 hours, with loud horns on! Also seems to be in flight path for helicopter trips to the cannon, early morning and evening can be loud! Smell of the casino can be slightly over powering
Review 22:Great location on the strip!! California kitchen pizzas organ a try!
Review 23:Location is close walking distance to all my favorite properties in Vegas. Check-in was quick even though there was a long line. The buffet was much better than expected and an excellent value compared to buffets of similar price.
Review 24:The front desk staff seemed over worked by the volume of traffic hence "at times" fail to put a personal touch and/or empathize with a personal situation by treating and responding as if you are just another statistic.
Review 25:Great Central Location on the Strip....
Review 26:The hotel was amazing and had everything that you could possibly want or need. As for location, the Mirage is in the center of everything cool about the Las Vegas strip!
Review 27:this seemed to be one of the casinos with the most smoke. as a result, we didn't gamble there.
Review 28:The location and room were both great. Having a private elevator was nice. Lots of good restaurants.
Review 29:-ordered high floor with view-give us 5th floor to the freeway view. -check in lady was rude -never picks up the front desk calls -called 3 to 4 times and each waited 20+ mins but always on hold -room service knocks at 9am and opens the door even after u yelled there's someone in the room. Happened 3 times! -room service didn't really clean the place. Even on the first night, my bed and restroom was dirty. -far and confusing walk to the guest elevator since there's only one entrance and its far from lobby -they closed down the escalator to the parking during so we had to walk a bit in the cold in the street to the parking lot. Probably my worst experience for the money I paid.
Review 30:1. Visiting the tigers costs USD27 pax. 2. Sundry shop downstairs very pricey. Gotta get water and others at Walgreens opposite the hotel. 3. Cravings buffet sucks for the price.
Review 31:1. There is a nice family restaurant downstairs called Pantry next to the lifts. Prices are reasonable there. 2. There are enough sockets to charge our smartphones and iPads. 3. Free wifi. 4. We booked a double queen room. Enough for my 2 kids. 5. Free parking and easy access to it. 6. Located at centre of the strip.
Review 32:Room seemed to be a litte dated. Shower was very difficult to turn on.
Review 33:The hotel was a bit quieter than other hotels on the strip which I liked quite a bit.
Review 34:Casino smoke which is typical if you book at a hotel that has a casino.
Review 35:This hotel is on the strip across the Venetian. Easy to self park. There is a tram that goes to TI. There's a bus stop towards the left side if you are facing the street. There's a monorail across the street at Harrah's, taxis, a Walgreens across the street. Everything you need is nearby. My request for a room were i cannot smell smoke was granted. They put me on the top floor towards the far end of the floor. I appreciate that. I was able to open the windows to let fresh air in a couple of times. It was the 23rd floor was i thought it was safe to open the window from time to time.
Review 36:Had a wonderful stay at the Marige Hotel and Casino. The staff was very friendly and our room was clean with an excellent view of the strip. We will definitely be back.
Review 37:the restaurants in Mirage are not that great. They are pricey and there is no food court for cheaper options and variety. We did try couple of restaurants and did not like the food. We ended up walking to Venetian for lunch and dinner. And got our breakfast and morning coffee from McDonalds right across
Review 38:the room was big and comfy. the mattress was good and we got good night sleep. We also got a view of the strip from the window and was able to see the Mirage volcano eruption at 7pm and 8pm from our room. Watched Terry Fator show one night and was very convenient as the theater was very close to the guest elevators.
Review 39:Too many heavy smokers in the casino area. But the overall balance is still very good since it's very little what the hotel/casini can do about that.
Review 40:Awesome facilities. Very kind and effective staff. Excellent price for service.
Review 41:Hidden fees and unfriendly staff. They did not know about prepaid rate to booking and try three times to charge different or higher rate saying that booking number or confirmation was not in the system. Spent at least three hours explaning and showing printed confirmation
Review 42:Location
Review 43:No hot water in the room, wifi quality is not good, and I can't access wifi in the lobby, even I register the room number. The lobby to room elevator is too far, in the way to room need to pass through casinos
Review 44:No real customer service, disappointing front desk reception. Then strange walk through casino to rooms... Very outdated interior design in room for the price we paid this was so disappointing.
Review 45:Location is good.
Review 46:THE ROOM WAS BASICALLY OLD AND DATED.. I EXPECTED MUCH MORE FROM A RESORT NAMED THE MIRAGE.. I HAD A COUPLE OF HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS STAYS WHILE I WAS IN ARIZONA AND FELT THOSE ROOMS WERE JUST LIKE THE MIRAGE ROOMS.
Review 47:Absolutely no grab and go food which is especially odd at their Convention Center. Very limited kid friendly menu items.
Review 48:Location, Cleanliness and Comfortable Bedding
Review 49:Waitress in the Deli was extremely rude and had to be reported to a manager, Joe. I had one day when my room was not cleaned, which did not make me happy.
Review 50:Location and the bed was very comfortable.
Review 51:You must stay at the Mirage. The view of the strip is wonderful, along with the water show. It is brilliantly located close to all of the other major hotels within walking distance. The rooms are very clean and stylish, the beds and especially pillows were exceptionally comfortable. Everything was awesome! When I stay on the strip, the Mirage will be my first choice!
Review 52:Well we were in room 4118 from Thursday thru Saturday night. When we got to our room the cable TV didn't work. First service tech didn't want to trouble shoot the problem...it was just before 3:00pm and he wanted to go home. Next tech really didn't have a clue and called for a third tech....Got service 2+ hours layer. That night the thermostat was either very cold or very hot. Could have worked if we had an addition blanket in the room....no deal. Next day room didn't have any bath soap...small but really annoying. Saturday we were leaving around 10:30 am and the room attendant asked if he could clean our room next. We said yes. Got back around 3:00pm and the room had not been cleaned. Attendant arrived a bit later but we were tired and didn't feel like leaving the room. Asked him to just clean up bathroom. Overall on a case by case basis these are minor issue, looked at in total they really were a pain. Left a $20.00 tip.because I didn't think the attendant was the problem.
Review 53:The bed was way to soft for my liking . Shower head wasn't very good clogged with scale needed a good clean or replaced.
Review 54:The food was good location was good and staff was good. Gardens where nice.
Review 55:The facility seemed dated. There really wasn't a wow factor in their overall decor or theme.
Review 56:The location to other hotels I was interested in visitingwas pretty good, but couldn't quite afford to stay at was good. However, it seems like a lot of action has been focused more south where the Cosmo is located since I last visited.
Review 57:Super dated interior! Very fuddy duddy. Better for an older crowd. 20 min Line up for coffee in the Am, then another 30 min line u for breakfast.
Review 58:Was clean. Check in was good. Baggage guys were great
Review 59:why pay for a separate shower? why pay full resort fees when facilities halved e.g. pool drained? staff on reception were abrupt. table by lifts was thick with dust throughout weeks stay bath we didn't use had layer of dust and grime towels and toiletries had to be asked for
Review 60:location was good bed very comfortable
Review 61:I find the pet fee exorbitant for my small dog, who does not shed or make a mess and is well-behaved. It cost more for her alone, than it did for us individually (w/o resort fee). The long walk from the lobby to elevators through a smoky casino did not appeal to me. The casino is too dim compared to some of the other ones I saw.
Review 62:I liked the size and cleanliness of the room. The staff was extremely helpful!
Review 63:The rooms are very noisy and they don't have a refrigerator for your use. The casino smells like heavy smoke 100% of the time and the valet takes forever to drop/pick up
Review 64:The location is perfect on the strip
Review 65:The bathroom is too small to hold more than one people, and when you open the door, it kicks the toilet.... They pre-charge $200+ for their snacks bar in the room, and they charged me two times...
Review 66:No one mentioned mlife program and benefits when checking in. We called to notify about a missing drink in the mini-bar, and mentioned putting leftovers in the fridge. However, the staff didn't warn us about charges for moving anything from the packed mini-bar. We got hit with a $100 charge. After discussions, the front-desk said it would cost $30 re-stocking. Felt a little scammy, and we had to complain and get a supervisor involved before the fee was waived. Overall, the supervisor handled the situation well, but we left with a mixed experience. It would be nice to know about potential charges for moving drinks at check-in, instead of at checkout.
Review 67:Convenient location and tasty 24hr restaurant called the Pantry.
Review 68:We stayed in 4 differents places in Vegas with a budget of 100$ a night. We found a bargain the day before and we could book a room for this price, this hotel is amazing. It is the best you can find. It is located right on the strip, in front of the Venetian, you even have a " secret garden" where you will find Dolphins and tigers. This is magnificient. And on the top of that, we were lucky to get a suite instead of a room. This was one of the best time in my life. Everythink was perfect : large space, clean, nightclub and casino in the hotel, friendly staff. Believe me, after search for hours a hotel for the first night, it was the best so far. You will Not regret it
Review 69:My only complaint is I would like coffee or tea maker in the room. The lines in the morning for coffee downstairs are long.
Review 70:Friendly staff great amenities, super clean. Plenty of food choices.
Review 71:We choose a 'strip view' room. You could see the Strip from the room. However you needed to put your head against the window in order to see it. It was allright though.
Review 72:Perfect location in the middle of the strip. Nice clean place to stay.
Review 73:The room was cavernous and didn't feel welcoming. The minibar prices were outrageous. The guest elevators were far from the front door and reception area. After we checked in, not a single staff member said a word to us: How about "Good morning"?
Review 74:We initially were not attended to well at check in, not given info re wi fi etc. Noticed that the other reservations clerk had treated other hotel guests in a more favourable manner.
Review 75:We complained about the check in and we were moved to a room with a front view. Our concerns were listened to and we were very happy with the service and the hotel from that point.
Review 76:We stayed at the Mirage for 2 days in November 2015, and we had a good stay until we left. As we stored our luggage after our check-out for a couple of hours, we were ask to wait in "the line" by a porter named Bill. The "line" consistent of one person, whose luggage was being handled at that time. As we thought that this wasn't really a line, we waited on the side. As another couple approached, this couple was being handled first. We thought this was ok, and waited our turn. After this, yet another couple appeared, and porter Bill started helping this couple, and totally ignored us, we told him in a friendly way, that we were here first. "I TOLD YOU TO STAY IN THE LINE", he shouted at us, an did a step forward in a threatening way. We replied, "But there wasn't really a line", "THAT'S IT, I AM DONE HERE, I AM DONE, THERE'S THE LINE!", he shouted. Another porter came in the meantime to help with our luggage, who was very nice.I told the porter: "I give you the option to apologize, otherwise, I will file a complaint against you." "YOU GO AHEAD AND DO THAT, BE MY GUEST!!", he shouted. We went to the concierge, and spoke to a girl named Teina(?) and the Field Service Manager, Billy Glassus. They took our complaint very friendly, and told us that Bill was a Day 1-employee, that he should never have spoken to us, and they were going to have a word with him. They couldn't call him in, as it was not their policy to do this.In our opinion, the porter should have been fired on the spot for this extremely rude attitude. However, when we returned, the porter was still there doing his job, and didn't apologize or say anything, which has made us even angrier- he wasn't spoken to as was told by Teina and the Field Service Manager, Billy Glassus.
Review 77:The hotel itself was a nice place to stay, and the bed was very good.
Review 78:The pool was under repair and closed. We were not notified of this ahead of our stay.
Review 79:The location was perfect. While the hotel is large, it's a better scale than some of the "mega" hotels around it. We ate at Portofino and had a wonderful meal. Saw Beatles LOVE show and thought it was amazing.
Review 80:I thought the restaurants were pretty expensive cinsidering the type of food offered and that most of the hotel profit comes from games.
Review 81:Location and restaurants available
Review 82:Doesn't apply. Enjoyed everything!
Review 83:Centrally located to everything we wanted to see and do. The Heritage Restaurant was a dining experience. The steaks were amazing!
Review 84:The Pantry and Carnegie restaurants need to offer more healthy options, e.g., green salads with chicken. I hated not being able to use the refrig in my room to store my leftovers, or the pop I purchased at your vending machine, because the refrig would think I had consumed the items for sale because my actions would change the weight in the refrig.
Review 85:My hotel room was beautiful and clean. Every staff person I talked to was friendly.
Review 86:An expensive night's stay with a resort fee of $30+tax. I stayed alittle further out for the remainder of my trip due to this fee. As thecomplex is so big it is impersonal but some may like that.
Review 87:Located right on The Strip. No charge easy parking. Plenty to dowithin the hotel without even going outside onto The Strip. The roomwas quiet and peaceful, spacious and luxurious. I didn't realiseuntil I got there that my view was of ugly roofs rather than The Stripbut I only stayed one night so no real issue. Checked out from my roomwithout having to find my way back to the lobby. I did get lost acouple of times.
Review 88:Our first room was at a steep discount directly through the hotel website during the week. The bed, pillows & blanket were really horrible. The bed was so old and uncomfortable that we felt we were sleeping in 2 holes separated by a mountain in the middle. The blanket was disgusting. As soon as I mentioned this, our next room's bed (we had a split stay) was much improved and the staff went overboard to make it right. So I would stay again and just mention upon check-in that I want a room with a more recently purchased bed.
Review 89:Great location mid-strip so easy to walk to many places and easy access to the strip deuce bus. Beautiful hotel grounds and pool. Excellent and helpful staff. Easy parking and quick check out on the TV. Even though you walk through the casino to room elevators, the smell of smoke is hardly noticeable. I would stay again. Best prices I could find for this area of the strip.
Review 90:To start, our reservation was not in the system. So we had to go get another reservation with short notice, one day, the outcome was we had to pay over 500.00 for the room. To top it of, they notify us of a marathon running through Las Vegas strip the day we were already checked in. Which brought worries about getting out of there before streets, fwy entrances, and the main entry to the hotel being closed till next day. To avoid this we decided to leave and checked out at 6:45 AM. So it is why we were displeased with the stay at the Mirage on our anniversary. Sincerely, The Martinez
Review 91:you can find better hotel than Mirage in the Strip. Customer servis is really bad in this hotel. in my restroom, there was water flowed problem which was coming from ceiling. i stayed 4 days and called them 4 times but they didnt fix it.
Review 92:it is in center of Strip.
Review 93:Long walk to the lifts from room and lobby, resort fee extortionate and all bars very expensive, 9 dollars for a bottle of beer, restaurants expensive, go next door to the Treasure Island and eat and drink at half the price, poor view from the room
Review 94:Great location and great pool area
Review 95:The ROom hadnt been cleanered properblerly! Had to go the conciergen 3 times to get the Bathroom & hair from the previlusly guests removed. And Well then it still wasnt done! So dissipointing!
Review 96:Dust allergy issues the whole time like I was staying in a cheap motel--hypoallergenic sheets did not help much--had to ask for room air filter to be changed--vacuums did not have HEPA filter bags
Review 97:Location is great
Review 98:Bathroom commode was not working and had to use the facility in the lobby the first night. It was fixed the next morning. One small cake of soap for two guests in a 4 star hotel !!. You can do better than that?
Review 99:Central location. Room was fairly spacious and parking was very convenient.
Review 100:We had no wifi in our room for two days of our five day stay & had to be moved after a host of phone conversations with the IT department. As we only had a tablet to stay in touch this was a big upset for us. The second room was a bit shabby & considering we had paid top dollar for the rooms that was very disappointing
Review 101:We liked the staff & the centralness of the hotel itself on the strip very handy for sightseeing & also excellently placed to get the deuce downtown
Review 102:The buffet was severely overpriced for the choices as was the room. Just because there was a convention in town the nightly rate was triple the usual rate.
Review 103:The facility was nice
Review 104:Computer failure caused 4-hour wait to check in. Manager salvaged situation somewhat by upgrading our room, but we were still cramped for time to see a show, which was our only reason for staying one night on the Strip.
Review 105:Location and classy feeling.
Review 106:Intermittent WIFI in the room throughout our stay. Hotel removed resort fees since we did not have use of Internet. Also offered to switch rooms, but we felt it was too much hassle. Hate all the smoke you have to walk through to get to room, but that's Las Vegas!
Review 107:Amazing staff both in hotel and casino. Valet damaged our rental car, but hotel took responsibility without a hassle.
Review 108:I found the hotel to be older than some of the other hotels I had stayed at in recent trips on the main strip.
Review 109:The location was close to the convention center and the price was reasonable compared with the other hotels in close proximity to the convention center.
Review 110:The only thing I found annoying was I could never find my way out of this place its like a maze and you have to walk right through the casino to get to the room elevators.
Review 111:My friend and I stayed at the Mirage for 4 nights and we loved it. We arrived at midday well before check in and they gave us a room anyway so we could drop our bags and go and explore. We chose a deluxe double room which had 2 very comfortable double beds and the room was huge. We were on the 23rd floor so it was very quite and we had no trouble seeping. The rooms were cleaned everyday and towel were replaced too which was nice. The staff were always happy to give you tips on what to do and where to eat if you didn't want to eat in the casino. I really enjoyed my stay and will defiantly stay here again. Oh and you have to see the Mirages exploding volcano its amazing.
Review 112:Did not like having to walk through the casino area to access any other section of the hotel
Review 113:Great location for The Strip. Loved the Beatles Cirque du Soleil show
Review 114:The restroom in my room were very small, unlike the hotels that I stayed a week before that, restrooms are big and the rooms are very cozy. There was no enought store for shopping. There was no enought store for shopping. There was no enought slot machine to play plus they don't give, I need to go to another hotel to play.
Review 115:I like the buffet restaurant, there's variety of food and the staff were very nice and helpful.
Review 116:Casino/lobby was very smoky and stuffy compared to other hotels we went to which were a lot better ventilated. Also the free wi-fi didn't actually work in the room, only downstairs which was very inconvenient.
Review 117:The beds are potentially the most comfy beds I've ever slept on, view from room was amazing and the location is perfect.
Review 118:room has to be renovated - many things broken !!!!!! in the bathroom a lot of mold - shouldn't be in a four star hotel ! room nr. 12068 - u can check !!!! roommaid came only in the afternoon when we want to sleep - but on our last morning she was allready at 09 disturbing !
Review 119:It is a long walk through the casino to the elevators up to the rooms. While there are an ample number of eateries in the facility there is no food court if you just want something quick and simple.
Review 120:The location near the other large casino/hotels is great. The self parking is very convenient once you know how to get into the parking structure and know the footbridge to the casino/hotel is on the fourth level. Room rates can vary by nearly 100% depending on when you book.
Review 121:Internet connection / wifi was dismal. Wifi connected but did not have an internet connection both in the room and downstairs foyer / casino floor.
Review 122:Bedroom and mattress is very good Front desk staff were great
Review 123:Casino area requires renewal comparing to other Strip hotels. Ceiling looks really poor especially on pictures.
Review 124:Thanks to reception desk's stuff I got quite good room on the upper floor with a decent view on the LV Boulevar.
Review 125:All casinos (not just Mirage): There should be a smoke-free way to walk to your room.
Review 126:Modern, tasteful, comfortable; excellent service from hotel staffs and restaurant. Surprised me: I thought because of its age, The Mirage would be a little run down, but it was contemporary and fresh. Staff member told me rooms had been renovated only two years ago, which might be one of the reasons why. Very happy with my stay here; even happier with the price.
Review 127:The billing stuff up that left me waiting 5 days for a refund after being charged double for my room because of a glitch between booking.com and the mirage
Review 128:Everything
Review 129:Rooms were very comfortable with plenty of space. Large bathroom with separate shower and tub. Lots of places to eat ranging from simple to high end. Directions inside the hotel were well marked. Had little trouble finding places.
Review 130:Ok so the hotel is very nice and what I'm about to write will not stop me from staying at the mirage. But that's because I'm an easy going guy. I specifically booked a room with one bed. I wouldn't have even cared if it was queen or king. But I ended up in a room with two beds. It was only myself and my fiancé but it was wierd sort of killed the room mood.
Review 131:Clean rooms very nice hotel to stay in. Perfect spot on the strip in my opinion.
Review 132:A little bit confusion when it comes to finding the elevators and especially the right one to get to your room. The M
Review 133:Everything was great especially the location.
Review 134:Was very dissapointed that the Bare pool was closed for my entire stay, as it was the selling point for me to choose the mirage as my hotel destination.
Review 135:Staff was always extremely friendly, and extra helpful
