Review 1：It wasn't very clean in the bathroom but acceptable. Bed sheets and towels were clean. The hotel overall could need some refreshing.

Review 3：It's not in a bad location. But it's not central either. Van isn't known for it planning for foreign tourists. But, people are invariably helpful here, and will show you how to get there.

Review 4：This is a review of a hotel in Van, and should be read in that context. It's an average hotel, but has hot water and quite good wifi. Breakfast is just ok. This isn't Istanbul. What it really has going for it is the manager. He speaks good English, and will happily arrange excursions to local places of interest, and onward travel.

Review 7：Every single surface, except bed, in the room was dirty. The room wasn't cleaned during our stay (3 days). The first room that was given to us, was nightmare. The only window opened to the ventilation well or smth like that. It wasn't possible to air the room, moreover, as it was in the 4th floor, smells from all other rooms (especially smoke of cigarettes) came into our room all night. It was impossible to breath and sleep. In this hotel it is allowed to smoke in the room. The hotel must be renovated, the cleaning policy has to be changed! It is unacceptable!

Review 8：The manager changed our first room to another room the following day. The windows of other room opened to the street and it was possible to air the room. The breakfast was acceptable, thought one has to come early (~ 7 am). The location of the hotel is good.

Review 9：Arzan Safar If we compare this hotel with it's price, it is good hotel with reasonable price. Free breakfast service is an important item in this hotel, as well.

Review 10：I had booked our rooms 2 weeks before arrival time but unfortunately after arriving We were told that our reserved room was given to others! It seems that the concept of reservation is different for the hotel managers.

Review 12：The staffs seem to be regardless of guests convenience, The cleanness of the rooms are not good, I advise not to eat breakfast in the hotel. however the price of the hotel is rational in comparsion with other hotels in that district.

Review 13：room and shower were extremely dirty. nearly everything is broken. everything smells like cigarettes (even though we asked for a non-smoking room), even the towels. staff is very unfriendly to foreigners.

Review 15：There was a blackout in the city and it turned out that the hotel didn't have any generator to cover it up. So everything went off - lights, internet, even hot water. The only thing I could do was sit on my bed and stare into darkness.

Review 16：However, because we were two young women traveling without men, we felt like the walk back to the hotel in the evenings was not as well-lit as we would have been comfortable with (of course, not the hotel's fault, but worth noting if you are a woman traveling alone). Additionally, the bathroom was not very clean, evenings were very noisy (no soundproofing at all between walls), and we lost power in our hotel room every few hours. It always returned after about twenty minutes, but it was inconvenient at times.

Review 23：Booked a non-smoking room, but was given a room full of smoke smell. Lift is half floor above the reception floor. Have to carry luggage half floor to take the lift. Room is no sound proof - noise outside room can be heard clearly. Room does not have A/C, fan, and chair.

Review 24：Very competitive room rate. Hotel manager is helpful though he tried to sell tour packages which did not consider guest's preferences. 300 meters away from Cumhuriyet Caddesi where exchange shops, shopping centers, dolmus station, and other things can be found.

Review 25：I stayed over the Eid weekend and the owner, the only English speaking member of staff wasn't around much. Although my room was clean, the bathroom had not been cleaned before my arrival, which is a basic expectation. Also, the WiFi didn't work most of the time

Review 29：I needed to iron my shirt. But there was no iron in this hotel! I was disappointed. Bathroom sink and toilet is kind of old. Didnt even take shower. Tv wasnt working. Even though i was there for one day, i would have liked to turn on tv and rest for 5 min. These little things are important.

Review 37：The hotel itself was a high standard for the price - easily comparable to the grand hotel down the road (apparently)! The location was great in central Van. The hotel easily accommodated our early arrival. The breakfast was delicious & maintained Van's breakfast reputation. Most importantly, the presence of Harun was helpful in anything & helped make our stay fun.

Review 38：The manager, Harun, was a great tour guide. Took me out to all the sites around Van. Staff were extremely kind and helpful. And if anyone is worried about safety, there is a police station on the same block.

Located on the road that leads eventually to Van castle (although 5 km away), but also not far from Bes Yol and the main street. The manager offers convenient tours, although ask around as you may find better deals, depending on what you're looking for.

Review 70：This is a two star hotel so I have rated it accordingly. Side hotel is in a good location and our room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good and the English speaking manager was helpful.

Review 71：Seemed expensive overall for what it is. Got hassled a little bit by Mr Harun, the English speaking guy that seems to loiter around the hotel offering tours... He helped us initially, we went on his tour (expensive, beware) but then he insisted taking me out for "drinks", when I declined, he called late at night, repeatedly. My friend & I did not stay after that. Van isn't high on our list of rec'd places, although the Armenian church on Akdamar Island was pretty special!

Review 75：There are no fan and conditioner at the rooms, if it is necessary for you. Nobody cleaned the room during our staying, may be, it was necessary to leave the key, we didn't understand it.

Review 77：It is very comfortable, perfectly located and nicely designed. They serve fantastic breakfast, and tea is available all the day long in the lobby. Moreover, the hotel manager Haron Toprak is more than helpful with finding yourself in the city and organising countryside tours. He is generously sharing not only practical information but also knowledge about Van, Anatolia and it's history. I would recommend to everyone this experience!

Review 80：Hotel Side needs a basic course in Hotel Management. Upon arrival, arelative tried to sell me an overpriced trip around Van to tag alongwith a group of 6 others in his vehicle for over 10 times the cost thatI did with local transportation. That set the tone for the stay.As requested, they did not clean our room for the two days - even when I made a point with the manager to be sure to clean it on the 2nd day of neglect half-joking in a nice manner. As advertised, they do not have 24 hour reception service, and do not also have an English speaker to answer the phone. I called 4-times prior for airport pickup only to get connected the next day of calls. Unprofessional. The manager speaks English and will answer your questions to help, but clearly, is not sincerely interested in handling your personal needs. For the same price, there is an excellent choice across from the Travel Information agency - ASUR HOTEL. After visiting the hotel, speaking with hotel management & kindly greeted by the staff unlike the hotel cleaners & other assorted staff that are simply un-helpful -I would recommend giving Hotel Side the detour as you can find better accommodation upon arrival if necessary.
