Reviews for MGM Grand

Review 1:No bad experience we really enjoyed ourselves

Review 2:I thought the room was great it was on the 12 floor and I really like the view of Las Vegas the restaurants were very good but not all open but that was due to it being Christmas

Review 3:This hotel is highly overpriced. The rooms are average and very noisy. We booked our room for our family of four but the bathroom towels and bed pillows were not stocked for 4 people. The hallways are noisy and we had a very loud party next to our room until late at night and security did not come until we called.

Review 4:We liked the free parking. However, we recently heard that the MGM Grand is going to start charging for self parking. It's not the best location and we highly recommend that future guests look at other hotel options on the strip in Las Vegas.

Review 5:My room was in the west wing so far away it seemed from the main entrance of hotel. I got lost from a huge hotel several times. And Iam not a smoker . Being in the casino for 5 minutes I smelled like an ashtray everyday. And when I played the slots the waitress asked me for a drink so I ordered a jack and Coke. She never should up with my drink :/

Review 6:Room with all amenities, delicious and quick room service, friendly and attentative staff, and spacious fitness room.

Review 7:We were sad to see Rouge replaced with chicken wire and corrugated tin. I know you have to have something for everybody, but Rouge has been our "muster point" forEVER. We're not interested in Home Depot / Dukes of Hazzard finishes in a place charging the same price as Zumi. Plastic wine glasses?! Seriously?! Maybe this place is the transition place so MGM can continue to make revenue off the spot while they try to come up with a new concept.

Review 8:We loved Joel Rubuchon's and L'Atelier. SUPERB!!

Review 9:Staff are disinterested (jaded?), there are huge distances to walk from the car park to reception, with very poor signage, and then to get to your room you face a long trek. We were overcharged when we used the express checkout.

Review 10:This is a big casino/hotel of course, so the rooms are comfortable, there are a multitude of entertainment, eating and gambling opportunities on site.

Review 11:Where should I start?! Had the worst stay here recently. Upon check in they failed to find my reservation. The front desk had to make a new one under their resort name, charged my card for it and disregarded that I had already pre-paid. When I asked about the charges they told me it was just what they had to do in order to track records because again they couldn't find my prior reservation. They said charges would be taken off after a few day, upon check out I had to pay a "remaining balance" because I had only put a deposit in and there was nothing in their notes stating I had a reservation already. I'm sorry but that doesn't make any sense when I had already prepaid?! Was charged daily resorts fees for my wifi and TV to either not work or lag, mind you this was an automatic charge for staying here. Hmm forced to pay for something that doesn't work, what kind of BS is that? Many pending charges were held on my credit card at check-in. Small room, very dim in room lighting. A joke of a "strip view". Taking a shower here was far from relaxing. The water pressure was terrible and had to let the water run for at least 20mins before it even got luke warm! Definitely not ideal after a night out. There were a bunch of stains in the shower. Hotel itself looks outdated and smelled like an old ashtray. Mini fridges are only available by request for $25 a night plus more daily fees. This place will nickel and dime you for everything. Customer service was less than mediocre. I've never had such troubles anywhere before, I will not be staying here again.

Review 12:Many restaurant options. Fast checkout options.

Review 13:Very expensive. We were four friends staying in a room together and they only had two glasses in the room, when we rang and asked for two more they tried to charge us over $10!

Review 14:Cool Hotel, great location, good facilities, didn't seem to have an indoor pool, not that we knew of anyway! i would stay here again though!

Review 15:Rooms are getting a little old. Internet Access not always working in room. I had hardly any daylight in the room, because of the tiny window.

Review 16:Room service was quick and the room has always been done by 2pm.

Review 17:Customer service was atrocious. Basic amenities like a kettle tea bags water was not provided like ALL THE OTHER HOTELS I'VE STAYED IN!!!!!

Review 18:The location

Review 19:In the suite the fridge is remotely managed but the worning "DON'T TOUCH" are too small and it can be easy to be tricked by the curiosity, if you touch something inside it will be charged. I had to ask to the desk to delete some line from my bill. we didn't like the standard room, was clean but in need of deeper cleaning and refresh, details not well cared. It was noisy (quite loud sound of elettrical fan) the window was in the back of the bed. The hallway to the standard room is quite dirty and old, need mainteinance The AVIS RENT A CAR was low quality service. Price was very up for the NYE when we booked but they decreased from the 30/12 we didn't have full refound, the booking site want a very detailed prove even if the best price is in the booking site as well.

Review 20:We upgraded to the King suite and it was fine, very nice and window, room was and clean and well cared. we liked the view, the position, the shows and the gym as well. Employees in the lobby are kind, fast, professional. EXCELLENT was the LOST AND FOUND SERVICE: we forgot a bottle of champagne in the room, we called and they did't found anything but some days after they notified they found it! (we couldn't get it back because we were already home but I really appreciate the effort and the will to find it).

Review 21:They lied to us!

Review 22:We booked and planned a spa day being the end 2 days of our road trip vacation, it was not till we showed up and unpacked that we found out the spa was closed due to low volume of guests, jerks then they said they would call us and compensate us but never called. The manager never planned to as we found out she had the next day off! So the manager lied point blank to us, not very nice. Hope they stay slow, they are mean people!

Review 23:My room was in the West tower. I am a senior woman travelling alone. The room was cramped and I had to walk for miles to get to my room. Did not feel safe. I booked in person so they knew my approximate age and that I was a solo traveller. Felt like I had been sent to the boondocks.

Review 24:Fair gambling, good food

Review 25:Cant say I had anything we didn't like.

Review 26:One stop shop and location was brilliant! This was my second stay there and will definitely use it again!!!

Review 27:I would like tea & coffee facilities in room. Doesn't appear to be standard in USA!

Review 28:Location on the strip easy to walk to & from the majority of the hotels which are mid strip! Large bedroom, bathroom. Given a nice view of other hotels on the strip. Quiet & comfortable room! Loved the brunch (in addition to room costs) including a glass or two of mimosa at MGM Grand!

Review 29:Hate that there was no coffee maker in the room (most hotels on the strip exclude coffee makers in the room)

Review 30:The room was clean and the staff was friendly.

Review 31:The beds were hard as a rock. Wasn't expecting that for such a expensive hotel. The hot water to the shower took about 15-20 minutes to come on. VERY annoying. We had to let the water run literally for 15-20 minutes before it was even warm. The girl at the check out/check in counter messed up our bill. She did fix it, but with an attitude. Your paying for the location. On the strip. We stayed at another hotel a few days later, the best western plus, and it was AMAZING. also much cheaper. Was very disappointed for what was suppose to be an amazing hotel.

Review 32:Check in took almost an hour. we booked a Deluxe King room & were given a twin room. When i checked with the reception they said they cannot guarantee the room even though i had a confirmation of a Deluxe king room. the next day they changed our room. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. you would think a hotel of this standard would have one. $300 deposit charged for incidentals.

Review 33:Location was good.

Review 34:They don't respond to housekeeping requests. I came back to my room in the evening to find it had not been cleaned. I called them to have someone come in to at least replace the towels and went out for dinner. I returned to the exact same situation. Very disappointing.

Review 35:The staff were super nice.

Review 36:The air in the rooms is too dry, if you have sinuses issues not going to be a good one, it prevented me from having a good sleep.

Review 37:Location is really good, cleanliness and the amenities in the hotel

Review 38:Run-down old hotel and so was the room. I hesitated to touch things and walk bare feet on the filthy carpet. There was food left on the corridor from a room for several hours that made the whole corridor stink. I felt really bad there.

Review 39:Compared to other four star hotels on the strip MGM is quite to the south and if you want to walk to other places it's pretty far. Good for cardio though. Be ware the grand buffet is expensive. 40dollars for each and the buffet at the Luxor is 15 dollars or something and it's almost on the same level. Generally I would recommend this hotel but if I have more budget I would definitely go for Aria, Bellagio, Caesars or the Venetian. By the way, there is a free tram system(from Mandalay bay all the way to Bellagio)run by hotels, don't buy monorail(run by the city) tickets unless you really need it.

Review 40:It's a really big hotel with all the amenities and some pretty awesome restaurants. My king room is quiet and clean. Room service people are eager to clean the room everyday. They will call your if the room is not cleaned for a day and ask you if everything is ok. 24/7 Starbucks. You can't ask for more. Grab your coffe and get lost in the casino maze. Fun experience. And, don't forget to go to Grand Canyon by helicopter! It was awesome. I recommend Maverick helicopters, the pick you up at the MGM west wing and drive you back after the trip. Cool pilots and fancy Eco star helicopters.

Review 41:Having to wait over 7 hours for our room. We were advised by another staff member after waiting an hour at first that there was a room available, but we would be better off waiting for the room we had been allocated as it had a better view. We were promised a 'strip view', ending up with a partial view. We had an appointment to keep, so upon our return some 4 hours later, our room was still not available after being told earlier that there was a 'rush' put on our room. Housekeeping staff were often coming to our room, knocking whilst talking to other staff so were unable to hear us answer their knock until they saw us in the room. Cleanliness of the room not up to standard. Went to the buffet for breakfast, told the staff we were there for breakfast, paid our $66 for breakfast not knowing that breakfast session was nearly over. Buffet staff didn't say anything to us about it, we only found out about it when we realised there was NO breakfast available and the lunch time buffet was out. I think the buffet staff could do with some more training especially in customer service. Most unhelpful.

Review 42:We had a lovely young lady helping us with our check in. We had problems with our credit card and she went out of her way to get us in touch with our bank in Australia.

Review 43:Issue with the booking initially. Had to upgrade the two rooms (paid another $250/-) and the upgraded suites were pathetic.... long list but here are a few nuggets.... broken knobs, broken drinking glass, rooms not cleaned properly, weird smell, bathrooms with stains and to top it off a used condom in the room with the kids. Upon informing their so called management the condom was still there after 4 hours i.e. 2am.... Amazing. even the mininbar was locked in my so called "Spa Suite".... for an organization as humungous as MGM Grand (How many casinos now gentlemen??), THIS was absolutely pathetic. Nice con with the rooms - you know a family arriving with kids can't/won't change plans at 2100 hours. But I'll save you some embarrassment and not attach the photo of the condom - though it's available upon request.

Review 44:Nothing.

Review 45:The staff were all very friendly and helpful! The location was amazing - although it's a bit further down the strip there is so much to see and it's easy to navigate around! Highly recommended & we'd stay there again!

Review 46:Hakkasan night Club is very poorly organized at major events, and you lose a lot of time that would go to the club. And the club after buying the ticket, they can not guarantee that you Will you come to the club. Las Vegas is the city that never sleeps, it is not true, because after a night of partying, really want to eat, but after 10 pm everything is closed and you stay hungry until morning.

Review 47:I like everything)

Review 48:The air quality seems to be worse than I remember. In comparison to other hotels, the cigarette/cigar smoke is winning in this hotel.

Review 49:Location to non-adult activities is a plus.

Review 50:Despite the hotel and everything else was fabulous the price was very high. This was unfair but I promised my girlfriend to take her so I paid for it. But I will never ever do that again.

Review 51:The hotel was fantastic

Review 52:I love the excitement of the hotel. I love the monorail and how friendly the staff was in guiding us in the right direction. Overall it was a great experience.

Review 53:Hard sale to upgrade to premium room, requested two queen, in the end get one king and one folded bed with higher pay.

Review 54:Great location, nice view, luxury room.

Review 55:Long que to check in. Also was put in a room with very poor vue and 2 queen beds rather than 1 King. Was moved to a better view room but still 2 beds and told to check back if anything was available in the morning but didn't want to go through the hassle of packing and unpacking again.

Review 56:Very grand and always something going on like the ufc. A lot to do such as cirque ka' which is a great show. Most staff were very friendly and very catering.

Review 57:long line for check in prices to high still waiting for credit off beverages I did not drink long walk to room too much smokers

Review 58:location was great, staff nice, lots to do

Review 59:The hassle regarding mismatch of initial MGM Grand room rate versus confirmed room rate from Booking.com; ultimately resolved by intervention from Booking.com customer service telephone center. Also view from our rooms was poor overlooking cement ceilings of MGM Grand.

Review 60:Comfort of the room

Review 61:If you move something inside the minibar you are charged even if you do not drink. Poor bathroom amenities (e.g. there was not a shower cap).

Review 62:Big and comfortable room and bathroom. The view from the room was very nice (10th floor).

Review 63:A standard sheet was used in place of a fitted sheet and was very noticeable when the covers were pulled back. Also the shower was dirty with black hair in the corners.

Review 64:Living on past Glories. 4th Floor second last room in a mile long corridor looking out onto air conditioning units and neon signs, could not have been a worse outlook, which for an overnight would have been fine but not for a 9 night stay. Bathroom beyond description including a completely useless mirror mounted TV which unless you stand in front of the wash hand basin to watch serves no purpose. The shower was amazing unfortunately the drain could not cope with the flow of water, any more than 4 or 5 minutes in the shower 10minutes for water levels to subside alternatively flood the bathroom, overal the bathroom area was not in keeping with the rest of the room, which was more than adequate and very comfortable, other than the view out the window (or lack of) Avoid the West side entrance to the hotel off the strip, this area had open access to the strip with No security on the entrance and at most points of the day had homeless people and vagrants sitting and sleeping on the couches charging their mobile phones and generally hanging around out of the cold, also within many of the public areas close to the doors there was also a presence of vagrants begging for money and food within the hotel, something we did not see in other hotels we moved through on the strip. There was keycard security systems for entry to corridors and rooms none of which was operational, overall we did not feel as safe as we should have in our hotel.

Review 65:Valet parking, everything else was below average for what we paid.

Review 66:Didn't spend much time there to check out buffet, amenities

Review 67:I just spent the night so didn't interact with staff much but location , cleanliness and view were great

Review 68:Being punished for not spending 50 to upgrade the room, right next to a vending machine and super noisy. They did not provide the service but charged the resort fee. Thinking about report it to BBB

Review 69:Nothing

Review 70:It took 2 hours to check in due to low staffing levels and employees not being empowered to make decisions independently of their supervisor. Customer complaints on wait time and request for upgrade or later check out required staff member to leave their station and speak to the supervisor in a back room. There should be contingency plans in place for dealing with long line ups, at the minimum, supervisor should have been on the floor, defer staff breaks until line up is cleared and staff given clear guidelines on what upgrades or decisions they can make on their own.

Review 71:The room was beautiful but more importantly, well appointed and clean.

Review 72:Smell of cigarette smoke bothered my wife a little bit because she is asthmatic, but it wasn't bad enough to really aggravate her asthma.

Review 73:Very clean hotel and very friendly staff. We checked in on Christmas day which resulted in a pretty long waiting line, but we were upgraded to a larger room which was really nice.

Review 74:The cost of the booking was not well explained as it is not explicitly the price as stated by booking.com. There were other costs which may not have been explained and thus it costs more than it should.

Review 75:The room was excellent.

Review 76:Hated the smell of the smoke even in a non smoking floor. People even left cigarette butts in bin next to lift. Will never stay there again. Tried to charge me more that what I was shown on my booking.

Review 77:Location

Review 78:We waited for 2 hours in the check in line. Our shower didn't work properly even after we called the front desk to fix it.

Review 79:The rooms were luxurious and spacious.

Review 80:Wife's bday. And anniversary. Wasn't the greatest experience. Several issues. It's kinda hard to make that up when it's ur anniversary. The view sucked from the room. Wudve paid extra specifically asked for a nice view. Room 502 on west wing. Not to good. Bought tickets to motley crue. Alice Cooper didn't show up. Went to the Japanese place for anniversary spent 300.Food was awesome. Cook was very good. Sat with empty tea glass half the meal but I tipped the waiter 75 he was overloaded understandable I guess. The panels were in the floor from below the tv when we got in the room. Look like someone had been in the room before we got there. The morning we were to check out the lights in the bathroom went out. So u tell me how did u feel.

Review 81:The front desk people was the worst, they gave me room in the 1st level ( ground level) it was smell the worst (sewer), when I asked them to change it for me, they said no other room available

Review 82:i like only the location of the hotel

Review 83:The room was terrible! Toilet wasn't secure, it would move when you sat down. Light didn't work and there were holes in the wall in the bathroom. The bed was like sleeping on. Futon bed.... When I brought it to the clerks attention at the counter it was like he didn't care.

Review 84:Layout

Review 85:Long queues to all eating facilities. No tea/coffee facility in room $100 a day on card for incidentals Poor air quality due to smokers Check in/out staff disinterested

Review 86:Location The room was comfortable

Review 87:Room facilities - No Tea Coffee facilities in the room. Not enough toiletries and every time u ask them for one they slap 4.5 dollars service charge!!

Review 88:Front Desk staff was rude. They are probably working long hours and constantly busy. Front desk initially confirmed that they could put in a extra bed, but later refused. We had to book a new room for one person for 3 days and then stand in line again for 1 hour to get the keys. They should have a better alternative for this situation

Review 89:Room was smaller than I though. I think the resort fees should be added in the room total. $30 per night of resort fees. I ended up paying $100 for a night with 12% tax and resort fees and resort fee tax. Initially in my booking my room was only $50 per night.

Review 90:Location and property was really nice

Review 91:In the middle of my stay I was charged 900 dollars without explanation. It turned out later that the hotel decided to split my bill over a few different payments-days, without informing me.

Review 92:The Location.

Review 93:Mini bar was never restocked in 4 days, though I asked repeatedly. Hence value for money dropped, as buying the same items from room service or in the hotel's shop was very expensive.

Review 94:Comfortable bed. Room service was always delivered quickly. Staff were very friendly. Location is good, and some of the best clubs are in the hotel itself.

Review 95:Read the small letters concerning taxes and surplusses, there are quite some extra charges... just like everywhere in Las Vegas.

Review 96:A good quality Las Vegas hotel. Huge hotel, huge casino. Just Las Vegas...

Review 97:Having to walk through the casino to get out of the hotel is a nightmare. All the other casinos we visited had clear exit paths but it taking an extra 15 minutes to get to our room was a massive pain.

Review 98:The air quality in the whole building is chronically noxious...to the pont that both my wife and I became ill with severe respiratory disorders after only a few nights there. For the first few nights we were unable to sleep due to poor quality air conditioning in our room. Walking around the building was like being in a chemical factory full of smoke and airborne cleaning agents. The MGM Grand should be rated as a health hazard.

Review 99:We were very unhappy with the location of our room. It was at the end of a very small, dingy hallway separate from the main facility. The room was too small, no coffee machine although clean.

Review 100:The staff was pleasant.

Review 101:We had a standard room in the west wing. The room was clean, but had a nasty smell that was almost intolerable. Interestingly enough, the bathroom was not separated from the rest of the room with a proper regular bathroom door. It was kind of in the room, with glass doors for the toilet and the shower. The pictures for the standard room here are misleading.

Review 102:The hotel is located in a prime location in Las Vegas Strip. They provide excellent service in their facilities (e.g. valet, bell desk).

Review 103:Only thing was that smoking is still allowed on the casino floor which is a bit off putting

Review 104:Everything was amazing, staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The Tower Spa Suite is huge and made even more amazing with a great deal through booking.com

Review 105:The wait to get checked in took 2 hours. Also, the room next door was audible.

Review 106:The room was furnished to my expectations. Also, the staff was very friendly

Review 107:I have booked the hotel from booking .com . When I was checking in to the hotel I have issue about the room rate .what price I have booked from booking.com they don't wa t to accept in the begning. One Filipino In charge was no rude.he dos not know how to smile to the Coustmor . There was no water Kattel was in the room. When we was ask for the Kattel they said they will charge ..

Review 108:I love the casino

Review 109:There was a lot of problems booking in. There were not enough people on the counter to limit the wait time to check in. They would not allow us to use a pre paid currency card which was not mentioned on their site nor was it mentioned on booking.com. After a lot of talking with the check in host her supervisor and a manager it was decided to accept the card and bill the full amount straight away and also have us pay a $400 cash deposit for a bond. The room was worth the money we paid but the base of the shower had a poor attempt to repair / renovate it.

Review 110:it was on the strip

Review 111:Staff were great. I just wasn't happy about us being told that the original room that we had booked was not available. Not the first thing you want to hear after a long trip. This however got resolved by one of the Hotel Managers after we kicked up a fuss. Staff were friendly and professional.

Review 112:The room was very comfortable and relaxing and the view was spectacular. We had a great view of the strip. My wife and I were very happy with the room

Review 113:The strip view was really more like a side street view but we were only in room to sleep so we lived with it.

Review 114:The hotel is well kept. The suite was awesome !! Front desk let us check in way early. Very polite. Bell service and valet so worth the tips.Use them their awesome !

Review 115:The drain in our shower didn't drain very well. Also, the lighting wasn't very good in the room.

Review 116:Staff was friendly and helpful. Great food and room service. Easy valet and taxi service.

Review 117:I would have liked a larger room or more updated room for the price. The room was very nice. I was just expecting more for the "deluxe"

Review 118:I liked the easy check In and ability to check out over the phone. The staff was very friendly. The hotel was large and had many different restaurants and entertainment options.

Review 119:The rooms don't have a fridge available for use (other than the one pre-filled with alcohol) and if you move any of the items in that fridge you are charged a $50 restock fee. Also, the bathtub water didn't get very warm.

Review 120:Location was great. The rooms were clean and tastefully decorated.

Review 121:Aircon not working moved us to another room, TV not working in new room, no free hot drink facilities in the room, come on 5 star hotel not cool,no bath robe no slippers oh dear and this was in a Tower Suite.

Review 122:The bathroom the location the gym

Review 123:The room wasn't exactly what was shown in the picture, it didn't have a separate sitting/couch section to sit & watch TV which was fine. The bathroom needed some updates, the shower didn't always drain, the wallpaper was peeling off and some of the tiles were falling off. Overall we weren't in there very much. Also our view was of an alley way and the back of the theater, we could only see concrete with the curtains open so they stayed shut. For the price we should have at least been able to see out the window.

Review 124:The hotel, staff and casino were very nice and restaurants were very good.

Review 125:The smell of smoke, however, it's like that at most places in Vegas due to the Casinos.

Review 126:The MGM is massive. There is so much going on and plenty to do.

Review 127:I was in the west wing, and it took at least 10 to 15 minutes to walk from my car to get to my room. Directions were very unclear how to get to the west wing. It was an incredible labyrinth. I finally found a guard, who tried to help but was vague in directions. Get 10 random people from the street, put them at the entrance to the underground, and tell them to find the west wing. They will probably be very frustrated. I hated the lighting in my room! I was in 522 on the 12th floor. I could never get enough light, because the walls were very dark, and the lamps were not bright. Kayak told me the room was one price, but when I got there, I was told that it was $33 more.

Review 128:The staff and the shopkeepers were incredibly nice. They remembered me, and I was there only 1 day.

Review 129:would have liked small café to be open for after 10:00 pm eaters,

Review 130:Liked the blackout screens, bathroom was spacious and clean, housekeeping was very courteous,

Review 131:The staff were not helpful, we were actually charged twice on two different cards for our room, there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room and the pool area was closed. This is a very very big hotel, it was too big for is

Review 132:The location was good

Review 133:didn't seem that cleaning the place but with that many people going through it it it it be real hard to keep it spotless.

Review 134:The concierge service was excellent, they are very helpful and they save me some money big bonus.

Review 135:Too much noise transmitting from corridors from late returning and partying guests, which was disturbing in the night. I thought that was a bit surprising. In Vegas obviously this is expected, but room walls should be more sound proof.

Review 136:Smooth checkin and out. Everything fine with hotel.

Review 137:Smoking in the hotel and casino. We appreciate it's not law in the US so not a direct criticism of this hotel as it is the same every where else.

Review 138:We just thought the facilities were fantastic. The entertainment was out of this world. We were there for UFC194 and had an amazing experience.

Review 139:Two drunk men used their room key to open my room and forced me out of my bed at 3am. After security arrived, MGM did nothing to address this incident. The did not offer me any thing in compensation. After I requested to talk to management, they offered to compensate me for one nights stay. This was the most unprofessional, awful, and concerning experience I have experienced. I am still awaiting conclusion of this experience.
