Reviews for Le Pavillon Hotel

Review 1:The shower only has a half glass door and it was hard to not get the whole bathroom wet when showering.

Review 2:The rooms were beautiful, all staff I interacted with were super nice and helpful, and I liked all the amenities. The location was perfect.

Review 3:We stayed just days before Christmas and the hotel was decorated beautifully. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large and very comfortable.

Review 4:Can't beat the hotel for the cost. Old world charm with its bells and whistles intact. Perfect and convenient place to stay to experience New Orleans.

Review 5:Bar staff were not very good. For the price of their drinks I would expect a stellar bartender.

Review 6:Wonderful hotel. Convenient to The Quarter. Beautiful rooms.

Review 7:We were there for a special event, so we knew the price would be high, but hotel looks a bit worn and the staff was cordial but harried.

Review 8:Location was close to the super dome.

Review 9:Be careful we were upgraded to a suite, which was nice, but we were next to the lifts which means you get all the noise that comes with that.

Review 10:Location for the French quarter and the National WW II centre was excellent as were the staff and facilities.

Review 11:It seems like that barth towel has been used for a long time although it is fresh everyday. And I thought the appearance of the hotel is much better than the room itself.

Review 12:The location is great. 15 minutes walking away from the French Quarter. It's much faster than taking streetcar.

Review 13:This really is a great hotel with great staff. I'm super picky about cleanliness and look and this hotel is great. It DOES feel old (very old hallways, carpets, old shag curtains), but it still feels really clean. If the former bothers you then this isn't the hotel for you!

Review 14:At first glance, our rooms were clean, but that was not the case. Light fixtures were full of dust as were any corner in the room. When I went to plug in my charger cords, there was tons of dirt behind the night stand and beds! No one told us that the gym was under renovations as well as the pool and hottub....

Review 15:The location was great! The staff could not have been nicer!

Review 16:The room was musty and in ill-repair. The staff weren't what I'd expect of a AAA diamond rated hotel, though a few were friendly.

Review 17:The historic elements are beautiful.

Review 18:It was a bummer that the workout room was closed for renovations, but I look forward to coming back and seeing the updates!

Review 19:The Peanut Butter and Jelly bar was the cherry on top of a hotel Sunday! Le Pavillon was charming and full of character; the staff really takes pride in this NOLA gem.

Review 20:The pool and gym were closed although they did allow you to use the facilities in the hotel across the street.

Review 21:Staff was friendly and helpful. They kindly gave us a late checkout since our flight was late in the day and also stored our luggage. Helped us print our boarding passes when the printer in the business center was not working. The peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are always a favorite.

Review 22:All of your staff were very friendly and helpful!!! My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay there!!! This was our first stay at your hotel and I promise it won't be our last!!! We will recommend this hotel to all of our friends and family who visit the wonderful city of New Orleans!!!

Review 23:We were there for most of a week. Disappointed the roof top was closed for most of the week and we did not know that until we arrived (not told ahead of time). One evening they closed the lounge and restaurant for a private event without advising guests in advance so when we came back for a night cap, we couldn't access the lounge. One night they closed the PB&J buffet before the posted time. Boo! While these things were annoyances, they would not prevent us from returning. My one big complaint - I emailed, and phoned, about having a bottle of bubbly in our room on arrival yet no one followed up with me. A disappointment. I never asked again or on arrival as it was too late for the intended surprise.

Review 24:We loved the character and ambience of the hotel. The history and the charm were great. The staff in top hats and tails was a nice touch. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was good, off the beaten track but convenient to many and most things. Never felt unsafe. The bed was comfortable, and the room was a nice size. Loved the PB&J buffet! Awesome value for the cost. We definitely will be back!

Review 25:Valet parking only. Hard to get in an out in that section Poydras if you are arriving in a car.

Review 26:Great hotel for the money. Super courteous staff. Out of the craziness of the French quarter, but still walking distance to most things we wanted to do.

Review 27:The managers are amazing! Did so much to make our daughter's birthday great. Very attentive to details. Corrected mistakes in a timely manner and even upgraded our room to a suite without us knowing. We will be back!

Review 28:A/C was broken and we had to move to another room. Parking cost a little high. The bed was very dusty underneath need to be vacuumed oaccationaly, just happened to be looking for something

Review 29:Comfortable bedroom, bathroom. Good location for walking everything is near by.

Review 30:No refrigerator in room. No working ice-machine on our floor.

Review 31:Comfortable. Doorman was great. Loved the rooftop deck. Close & far enough from Bourbon street.

Review 32:If you have a room by the elevator it can be really noisy at night as people step off the elevator. I recommend requesting a room farther from the elevator.

Review 33:Gorgeous lobby. Convenient location for people who don't mind walking a short way to French Quarter. Great staff and service. Would recommend and would stay again next time we go to Nola.

Review 34:This was my third stay at the hotel, so they gave me a very spacious room that was delightful. Also, the room service staff were exceptional and accommodating, always ready to go the extra mile to ensure the guest was delighted with the service.

Review 35:The only complaint is the stale smell when exiting the elevator and entering your floor.

Review 36:The staff was very friendly. The bed was comfy and the location allowed easy access to bourbon st.

Review 37:Really no downsides for us. Older property so smaller (bur by no means tight) bathrooms might be "un-wow" for some but not an actually problem or dislike.

Review 38:Great staff, very comfortable beds, hot showers, heated bathrooms, excellent amenities for this price point. All the bells and whistles of an older place. Tons of personality. Great location in CBD, just off quarter so no noise but right up next to it so immediate access. Great for many very nearby office buildings like Shell Tower next door. Did not eat in beautiful dining room but saw number of local business people having lunch there (given all great places nearby, took this as a good omen). My favorite so far in NOLA.

Review 39:Breakfast not as good as could have been; housekeeping more on perfunctory side; not the easiest access to French Quarter.

Review 40:Historic boutique hotel with very beautiful and inspirational exterior and common areas.

Review 41:The Hotel is just beautiful. Staff was great. Parking was expensive, but convenient. Only issue was with having additional towels and toiletries delivered to the room. We called, and 5 hours later had still not received the items

Review 42:The room was small and the hotel could use a renovation.

Review 43:Service was great and the hotel was very close to the training I was attending, and to sites of interest and restaurants in our free time. The peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and hot chocolate at 10PM were a nice touch.

Review 44:However the pillow cases didn't fit in room 903 and when I woke up the first morning I realised my face was touching a blood stain - someone else's blood. This is SO unacceptable. The bathroom was not very clean either with big black hairs on the floor which is pretty gruesome but not as bad as the blood - housekeeping obviously lets this hotel down badly. When I reported the blood stain Miss Paula on reception told me she was compensating us by deducting our first night and moving us to 519 but when we came to pay at the end of the stay it was not deducted. I contacted the hotel only to be told they had deducted one nights parking at $18 which is poor. When I questioned this Jennifer R Chevis chose to ignore my email. I have been to New Orleans 33 times from the UK on business and had always wanted to return with my husband and stay at La Pavillon - shame on the housekeeping staff and the management - no one wants to experience someone else's blood on a pillow.

Review 45:Great valets and doormen, super entrance with spectacular chandeliers so offers a great welcome and the staff are on the whole really nice

Review 46:Bathroom fittings quite dated, stuck on freeze peeling off. Not keen on the music choice (modern pop nothing classy) on ground floor. Nothing of a wow factor or extra in the room, only basic toiletries. Standard worn towels, would have been nice for soft fluffy bathsheet, nothing serious, just lacks some thought.WiFi was poor.

Review 47:Lovely building with some great fixtures. Very impressive at ground level. Nice pool deck on roof. Hot chocolate in the evening.

Review 48:bathroom lights and top of shower haven't been dusted in weeks. 40$ parking is crazy - I know parking is a commodity in downtown NOLA, but it's an open air lot - the Holiday Inn a minute or two a way has a garage for 25$.

Review 49:staff was fantastic, great location

Review 50:When we arrived they gave us a card congratulating us on a wedding and a free drink and an upgrade which was lovely. The pool and hot tub are on the roof and really clean and enjoyable. Food was also lovely

Review 51:We purchased two bottles of water at the bar to take to our room and they were $8.50 each. We travel a ton and realize things are more expensive in a hotel, but that was way out of the realm of normal resort pricing.

Review 52:Super convenient for our needs.

Review 53:The television satellite sucks. Even though , you don't stay in a hotel room to entirely watch TV , it would have been nice to watch the news and other short programs uninterrupted . The satellite was constantly in and out, mostly out

Review 54:The location to the Superdome

Review 55:Bathroom needed more counter space for 2 females.

Review 56:The most professional, friendly and welcoming staff I've ever encountered! Loved the old south decor and lore! Comfortable beds and linens.

Review 57:This is an elegant sumptuous hotel. It has the feel of Versailles down to the crystal chandeliers. The beds were so comfortable, the rooms were spacious and all the staff were responsive and helpful.

Review 58:The pool, although located on the rooftop with a wonderful view, the pool itself looked very worn and dated.

Review 59:We really loved the location and the NEW ORLEANS experience. The staff was wonderful and the PBJ bar was a cute touch.

Review 60:The toilet flush was weak and needed to be pumped a few times Wifi never reached our room (room 216)

Review 61:Loved the grandeur of the place, big chandellers, painted alcoves and rooftop pool

Review 62:This is the Grand Dame of hotels. The new owners have removed much of its specialness and I'm afraid it will lose its grandeur. White bedspreads on bed, really! Bring back the matching comforters. This fine lady has got dust on her petticoats, dust her off before New Orleans loses a landmark.

Review 63:This was an unplanned visit, but I always wanted my husband to experience this motel. Good area, close to Superdome, and easy access to other areas of city.

Review 64:We informed the hotel that we would be arriving early. When we arrived at 10 am they said they would call when the room was ready, no later than 3, but probably earlier. When we went back to the hotel after walking around all day, at 2:30, they said the room wasn't ready yet and "hopefully" the room would be ready by 3, but they couldn't be sure. We had been up since 5:30 that morning and they kept us waiting for 5 hours for our room. Very disappointing, it made the hotel and staff look disorganized. I would expect that from a cheaper hotel, but this is supposed to be a nice hotel... In addition, they forgot to bring the bags up to our room and we had to call to get them brought up and it still took at least 20 minutes. In addition, for paying close to $300 a night I would expect a much nicer bathroom. The bathroom looked like something in a cheap Holiday Inn.

Review 65:The water temperature in the room was a little hard to control, but once you played around with it everything was fine.

Review 66:The free pb&j was awesome. Loved the pool and view from it.

Review 67:I would liked more info on possible transportation options. Shuttles buses versus taxis.

Review 68:friendly helpful staff, loved the décor especially the chandeliers The pbj and hot chocolate was an unique experience I really enjoyed. Hope to stay longer next time.

Review 69:We appreciated the fantastic staff, especially Paula on Reception,Gustave on Guest Relations and Sheila the Housekeeper and Turndown lady. These 3 people gave us exceptional service. Friendly, helpful and werated our 5 week holiday in America staying at numerous hotels as thebest hotel. Please thank these workers for us personally for theirprofessionalism. Thank you. Kaye and Tom

Review 70:My room reeked of cigarette smoke, although listed as non smoking. Old mascara on the mirrow, shower walls not really clean, some green junk on them. Hotel could use a remodel, it seems to be decaying.

Review 71:Great location, lovely old building.

Review 72:Never have I stayed at a hotel where EVERY member of the hotel staff was professional and so friendly! Le Pavilion is the BEST hotel I've stayed at in my entire life thus far! I was totally blown away as was the other adult member of my traveling party. The service was so other worldly exceptional it was almost scary haha (but a good scary ;) ) I expect no less the next time I visit. Let's put it this way, every time I visit new Orleans Le Pavilion is where ill be booked to spend my nights~ I refuse to stay anywhere else in New Orleans. The restaurant, the gorgeous roof top pool, every amenity offered was just incredible. By the way the night time offered peanut butter and jellies are such a cute idea. Le Pavilion really topped off my vacation nicely~~ I miss it and can't wait to go back!!

Review 73:would have been nice to have tea and coffee facilities in room

Review 74:Concierge was extremely friendly and went out of his way to help us. Beautiful decor Very comfy beds Great added bonus of midnight complimentary snack

Review 75:bath rooms are small.

Review 76:Staff was very friendly, eager to assist. The hotel tries to make you feel like you are staying in a large bed and breakfast rather than just a large hotel. Nice place.

Review 77:The first night, our air conductor leaked and we had to move at 1AM. Not pleasant, but it happens when the last renovation was in 1969. A detail look around will reveal many more places that need to be look worn. The maintenance staff must really be kept busy.

Review 78:The hotel is a stand dame with many elegant features with a very loyal staff, many who have been there for years and are first rate.

Review 79:no opportunity to prepare a coffee or tea in the room. Frigde was warm.

Review 80:A very nice Hotel, well furnished. Looks very noble. Good location to start visiting downtown by foot. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Parking lot nearby - valet parking only.

Review 81:We loved the southern charm of this hotel and its staff. Hotel was beautiful. Room was charming and comfortable. Great location! We got a great deal on room and it was a true value.

Review 82:Relatively high cost for parking which is not quoted with room rate; A $130 room quote ended up >$200

Review 83:Highly proficient, congenial staff - always willing to help with a smile; unique amenities including free PB&J sandwiches with hot chocolate or cold milk catered in lobby every night for all guests

Review 84:Room wasn't the cleanest, dirt etched in crevices in the bathroom and main room. Halls smelled old.

Review 85:Rooftop pool was awesome, crowd was rowdy at times but hey, it's NOLA!

Review 86:Parking is $40 per night, and breakfast was not included in price for room.

Review 87:Roof top pool was very nice and clean. When I asked for someone to come to the room to check out ax unit they came immediately and fixed the problem.

Review 88:Not complimentary breakfast or discount at restaurant.I also feel like no guest should have to make their own pbj.

Review 89:Liked having the pool on the roof, where they provided the towels.

Review 90:Upon arrival in the room, I was putting a drink in the fridge & there was a leaking container of food from a previous guest in there. Makes me wonder did they actually clean the room?

Review 91:The bed was amazingly comfortable! I loved the decor-very different from the norm. Everyone was very friendly & helpful. Loved the huge mirror in the room too! Excellent for getting ready! Free WI-FI is always a plus!

Review 92:we were told by the bartender at 11:45 P.M. that she was getting off at midnight and could/would not help us with a food order - we were told to go to our room and order room service - tried to do that based on information in guest service book in the room that had a room service menu served from 10 P.M. - 6 A.M. - we were told as we tried to order that the person responsible for room service did not show up for work and we could come downstairs and get a menu from an outside company that would deliver. The next morning someone from room service called and said that was not the case - that they only served that late on Monday - Friday. Really, no late night service on the weekend? The menu did not exclude any days of the week. Also took 45 minutes to get our car from valet the next day (talked to 3 employees during that time who repeated that it was on its way) - after which waiting that long we walked across the street where we had paid $39 to park and got it ourselves - simply by walking across one street to the parking lot. Really disappointed in overall service.

Review 93:beautiful facilities and excellent location

Review 94:The receptionist gave us the wrong room number and when we got our actual room it was right by the emergency exit/stairs which carried noise from the wedding downstairs. When we asked what they could do (we were paying to stay there too!) they only said they would move us tomorrow. Didn't move us and then we had to put up with cleaning staff shouting abuse at each other outside our door!

Review 95:The PB&J and decor

Review 96:Breakfast though nice, was rather expensive, and then oj charged extra on top.

Review 97:The staff were excellent, special mention must go to concierge Robert and porter Albert, their charm and hospitality really added something extra to our stay. Rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. Gorgeous rooftop pool, and location was convenient, though taxis required after dark. Bath menu is a real treat.

Review 98:The refrigerator stacked with drinks & snacks that were overcharged & no room for my personal snacks. The air conditioner did not flow very well, the price it cost to park in the parking lot everyday.

Review 99:Convenience to the interstate, friendly staff, & beautiful pictures.

Review 100:Room did not have a clean smell. Curtains torn. Had the vehicles parked to close to each other and had door dings.

Review 101:Lobby was very elegant. Like the view from outside pool area.

Review 102:No complaints.

Review 103:These folks are all top hotel professionals, who care about their guests. I travel extensively and this is a world class establishment.

Review 104:Pool area was dirty. No coffee in the rooms.

Review 105:Beautiful room and public areas. Quiet and comfortable room just a short walk from the Quarter or St. Charles Streetcar. Excellent brunch buffet.

Review 106:Great breakfast buffet but the food at night was not up to par with a hotel of that calibre. They advised they would be getting a new chef very soon.

Review 107:Robert the Concierge was very charming and always helpful. When he was busy, the other staff was just as helpful in directing us to just the right restaurant/music/shopping/tours/other. The wait staff in the restaurant were welcoming & took great care of us. Miriam & Ruth & my apologies for forgetting the name of lady at the omelette station-she started our days with a warm greeting & a smile. Also want to mention Cedric & the other men on the door & around the hotel were gracious and welcoming also.

Review 108:No bad complaints

Review 109:I liked everything about our stay and the did accommodated me on the floor that requested than yall for toast I will stay there again I plan on staying there when we go back

Review 110:There was a pair of swim trunks in our room behind the curtain... Cleaniness NO. and EW. The Hallways and room smelled moldy. It is a beautiful hotel but I was disappointed for all that Money..

Review 111:The Peanut Butter Sandwiches were delicious and the Hot Chocolate - get some whipped cream-PHENOMENAL!!

Review 112:This wasn't a bad experience, but the only breakfast option was the hotel restaurant and it was expensive.

Review 113:I liked that it was close to the French Quarter but not in it, so it was quiet. I loved the decor. It was beautiful. It really had the look of decadent New Orleans. Our room was completely comfortable, I loved the bed and the shower.

Review 114:The staff were so pleasant and helpful, the room was spacious and very comfortable , the decor was delightful , and the free hot chocolate was to die for .

Review 115:There's nothing I didn't like, we loved everything!

Review 116:The king room was beautiful & the bed was comfortable! The hotel looked like a castle & I definitely didn't feel like I was in New Orleans. Let's just say while I was there I didn't have to lift a finger, thanks to the amazing staff!!

Review 117:I was looking forward to having a pbr sandwich made by the lady in the hotel pictures. We were a bit disappointed that we had to make it ourselves...didn't taste quite as good.

Review 118:The hotel was beautiful and the staff so helpful and courteous. The location was walking distance to all the great places on our "to do" list.

Review 119:Wifi a bit slow and carpet and walls not that clean. Hairdryer was broken and filthy.Room smelt damp or like it had once been a smoking room. No coffee making facilities

Review 120:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful old French style hotel adding to the New Orleans experience. Peanut butter and Jelly 10pm-11pm sandwich tradition charming. Awesome pool and jacuzzi area on the roof.

Review 121:The price of breakfast was quite expensive but was good. We would've had dinner there but was gun shy thereafter.

Review 122:I loved the location and friendly staff. The after hours PB&J in the lobby was a fantastic touch! The pool and hot tub was nice.

Review 123:The only things I didn't like was the bathrooms are a bit small for being "luxury" hotel bathrooms. Also that there was no complimentary breakfast and if you want coffee each morning, you have to ask for the coffee pot to be delivered to your room or you have to go pay for coffee in the Crystal Room.

Review 124:The hotel was beautiful, the view from the pool was amazing, the rooms were pretty and the beds were very comfortable. All the staff was very friendly and the PB&Js served from 10pm-11pm were really the icing on the cake to end out amazing days in New Orleans. The hotel is in the perfect location to walk to all the best places in New Orleans. Also, parking anywhere near there is like $35 so the $39 valet service is definitely worth it in my opinion.

Review 125:The hotel offers free coffee in the morning but one person in our party was a tea drinker and would have been nice to give her equal consideration.

Review 126:The pool and hot tub were terrific to use after a long crazy day at Jazz Fest.

Review 127:Can't think of a thing

Review 128:Staff very friendly and professional. The decor is elegant and beautiful. Rooftop pool has a fantastic view. Peanut butter/jelly sandwiches at 10 PM a nice plus!

Review 129:Some of the staff were not as friendly as I had experienced in the past (except the front desk they were exeptionally friendly), but that would not deter me from staying there again. I was kind of surprised that the bath tub tile was refurbished with an artificial coating rather than replaced. That seemed to not fit the theme.

Review 130:I love the history, the elegance, the fact that it is quintessential New Orleans and that it is in a great location, easy to get in and out driving. Don't expect the rooms to be modern or spacious like a chain hotel. Expect to stay at a place that preserves its history. I was very pleased with the wifi! I have stayed here many times and I actually tried out the bar and it was very nice, they have a happy hour now.

Review 131:Nothing , just leaving the comfort of my suite .

Review 132:Very honest staffs. I left my IPAD and they secured and kept it safe for me. Great beds . Value for money .

Review 133:the breakfast was confusing, we had problems finding out what was included in the menu price...Our bill was much higher than we expected.

Review 134:wonderful old building!

Review 135:I Liked everything from the doorman who helped us make all our tour connections. The reception staff and concierge were always there to help or answer questions. Every member of the hotel staff we passed greeted us and always offered help. The breakfast buffet and dinners were filled with great food. Would choose this hotel to return to on my next visit to New Orleans.
