Reviews for Carnegie Hotel

Review 1:We just loved the whole atmosphere of the hotel. A class act by the staff and the room was great as was the bath. We also enjoyed the Wellington Restaurant.

Review 2:Room service foods delivery should have a "table" for guests to utilize. Other than that, all was perfect. Thank you Room 621 12/21-12/26-2015

Review 3:The only thing we missed was that there wasn't a microwave in our king deluxe room.

Review 4:We liked that there is a spa and restaurant on the property and that it was close to everything.

Review 5:Service for breakfast was very slow. We have been ignored for 10 min until we got the table.

Review 6:Fantastic hotel. We loved the bed, super comfortable. Great value and location for visiting the moutains.

Review 7:I really liked it. No bad comments.

Review 8:Very classy traditional hotel. Friendly pleasant staff. Hugh room with 12-foot ceilings in classy traditional decor.

Review 9:What breakfast? If we had access to breakfast other than full charge, we were never told. Pillows way too soft. No blanket. No information of services provided in room - first time I have ever experienced that.

Review 10:That this was a gift and they tried to charge them again, this was a wedding gift for wedding night very embarrassing since I told them and confirmed Friday in person it was paid and in the couples married name

Review 11:Pillows she said were fantastic

Review 12:I had no complaints about our stay there.

Review 13:The accommodations and the staff are excellent. You are greeted leaving the elevator with a smile from the person behind the front desk every time. I love the location being directly across from ETSU, and within proximity of a railway. There is something about being lulled to sleep by the faint sounds of a train in the distance…it's a Tennessee thing.

Review 14:The beauty of the lobby, the size of the rooms, the comfort of the beds, the large, nice bathroom, the convenient location to the medical school and ETSU-- rather luxurious hotel surrounded by the beautiful mountains of East TN

Review 15:I would like that since I go here regularly, that they would understand my preferences and try to do what they can to accommodate that.

Review 16:Great food and service. Everyone was friendly.

Review 17:Check-in was slow due to clerk being on the phone with another customer. There was additional personnel in the back, but they weren't aware that anyone was waiting to check in. A system of alerting staff that someone is waiting would be great!

Review 18:No complaints.

Review 19:Beautiful hotel with fantastic staff. Also for those who sneed a microwave ask front desk there is one located downstairs(on way to the pool) for guest use - we required one for our baby.

Review 20:A lovely Old World hotel in a charming little town. In addition to the rugby tournament, there was a weekend festival, making for a lively time. The on-site spa is fabulous -- one of the best facials I've had in ages! Hubby enjoyed his massage as well. The room was large, clean and comfortable.

Review 21:Beautiful rooms.. antiques everywhere. Bathrooms are so big they appear to be from another century. Bar and restaurant are great. Amazing Steinway Grand Piano in lobby... from the gilded age. All of this for a VERY reasonable price... less than a doubletree etc.

Review 22:My only complaint was that the rod in the closet was too close to theshelf and I could not hang my hangup bag.

Review 23:The hotel is charming and has a delightful bar/lounge and goodrestaurant. After a long day of travel it was wonderful to have such aclassy, quiet and comfortable accommodations. I have traveled quite abit and I will have to say that our bed was the most comfortable that Ihave ever encountered in a hotel. The room was very large and thebathroom had a double vanity and separate shower and tub. The front deskstaff as well as the bartender were delightful.

Review 24:A relatively new hotel (built 2000) but has the feel and charm on one 100 years older. The staff was friendly and most helpful and the attached restaurant was supurb.

Review 25:No negatives.

Review 26:Great location, friendly staff and comfortable room/bed. As we arrived late we ordered room service and were not disappointed with either the food or the price.

Review 27:Desk staff was very helpful on area information. Bathroom was spacious and loved having a separate shower and bath. Bedding and towels high quality. A beautiful interior and Wellingtons decor very rich and classic.

Review 28:The bed is SOOOOOOO comfortable. Everything in this hotel is amazing and beautiful. I loved everything about it. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful.

Review 29:Nothing bad. Loved it all! Will stay again!

Review 30:Great room layout, awesome, comfortable bed, huge, clean bathroom, and nice carpets. Great to come back to, after a rough day!

Review 31:Some areas are a little worn but very clean and appeared there had been some updating.

Review 32:Really enjoyed this hotel. Reminded me of some hotels in Europe and the amenities are nice. Woud have liked to try the spa.

Review 33:Upon check in the person behind the counter was not very nice. She walked in the hotel in front of me and let the door go in my face and yes she knew I was behind her. She also was rude when I checked in. The only bad spot to a otherwise very nice stay.

Review 34:Clean room - huge clean bathroom - free wifi - on check out the person behind the counter was very nice

Review 35:The blanket was for the summer while the outside temperature was 6-7 in the early morning and night but there is no spare blanket in the room.

Review 36:large and clean room

Review 37:The hotel owners had taken the trouble to rebuild the hotel from plans of a much older hotel. In addition, they had filled it with antiques and interesting furniture that gave the impression of a much older and more classic style than one is used to in hotels of this price range

Review 38:My husband and I went for Valentine's Day night to get away, our room location was extremely loud. In the morning we had checkout at 12 but by 9 doors were slamming due to cleaning crews. We could not take a shower as the water was freezing. Have stayed there several times and used spa services love it but this experience not so much. Just hate that we paid that rate for the experience

Review 39:The only issue is the parking. If the main lot is full, you have to park in a parking garage behind the hotel...which can be slightly inconvenient. No charge for parking however.

Review 40:The room was an excellent size and the king bed was awesome. Very well kept and no issues to complain about.

Review 41:Nothing!

Review 42:My husband and I stayed here for a New Year's Eve get away. It was INCREDIBLE! The service, the room, the restaurant/food, the bar/drinks; there is nothing that I could complain about or that I would have changed. We will definitely be back, and hopefully next time we'll take the time to enjoy the Spa.

Review 43:Nithing

Review 44:Had a fantastic experience at the Carnegie Hotel. Great value. Wonderful, spacious room. I got lost in the bathroom. Staff was friendly and competent. I totally recommend this hotel. I can't wait to go back.

Review 45:Amazing value! Such a beautiful hotel; it was the perfect date night/ escape we needed. Better than we expected! Friendly staff, extremely clean rooms, very comfy bed, luxurious vibe and accommodations!!!! Can't wait to go back.

Review 46:the pillows, it took three to make one. the first pillow when you laid your head on it your head was laying on the mattress with what felt like a sheet between your head and mattress

Review 47:everything was great except for the pillows

Review 48:- No microwave in rooms - Room for improvement in amenities inside room and furniture

Review 49:- Excellent location - Friendly staff - Elegant upper class hotel

Review 50:The mattress could have been a bit firmer and the pillows were too small for a king sized bed.

Review 51:We loved the traditional look and elegance of this grand old lady. And yet all of the amenities were provided and the property was in immaculate condition.

Review 52:All of the poorly modded Honda Civics driving around being all loud and obnoxious. The car scene there is just 90s Hondas.

Review 53:I checked in around 10pm and was greeted by a desk person with a curled handlebar mustache and a goatee. It definitely added some awesome authenticity to the historical environment. Location was great, lots of food options in the area, awesome hikes with awesome views, just an overall awesome place. Will be returning in the future.

Review 54:The room was very comfortable and clean. Also had a very good meal in the nice restaurant connected to the hotel. Enjoyed the experience of southern elegance in both the hotel and the restaurant.

Review 55:Both of us found it difficult to get comfortable with the small pillows provided on the beds resulting in back discomfort upon awaken

Review 56:Check in process very quick Staff went above and beyond to help us Rooms/Bathroom exceptionally clean :) Location of hotel Ease of parking

Review 57:The room furniture was tired and scratched; the sofa in the elevator area on the fourth floor was sagging; there was no microwave

Review 58:The bed was comfortable, the Starbucks coffee for the in-room coffee maker was a bonus, the wifi signal rocked, the bathroom was gigantic and lovely.

Review 59:The hotel is beautiful - antique-style furniture, amazing wood paneling and molding all around the hotel The room was comfortable; the bathroom was huge with both a stall shower and a tub. It was convenient - I could cross the walkway outside the hotel to run on the ETSU campus. Parking was right outside the hotel.

Review 60:The room was beautiful and the shower and tub were separated and the bathroom was huge, which made it easy for two of us to get ready at one time. We slept great and everyone was very friendly...........

Review 61:Bar/restaurant not open on Sunday during off season.
