Reviews for Cordova Inn - Saint Petersburg
Review 1:Bathroom in the room was so tiny you could hardly step into it and no hot water in the morning for a shower. Not acceptable for the high price charged for the room, go elsewhere!
Review 2:Location in downtown St. Pete is great.
Review 3:Attitude of the general manager .attitude of the front desc in themorning .I assume all ... From the head .... no parking for my car andneed to wake up at 5:45am to add time on my car otherwise will betowed.so I parked away from the hotel over night for $7. In the bathroomthere was no toilet paper on the hanger and left over paper on the rack. No cord attached to the telephone . So couldnt call the front desc tocome to fix the sink.Water was stuck ... Thanks god paid only $109 .Breakfast poor!!!
Review 4:Location to the pier and restaurants
Review 5:Breakfast
Review 6:Front desk staff is awesome as well as the location. Shower bath was horrible you can barely use the hot cold mixed water, breakfast was really poor
Review 7:Security was questionable. I attempted to contact management with this issue by email but hotel does not accept emails
Review 8:Close proximity to downtown and coastal area. Quirkiness of the hotel and originality.
Review 9:I wish they had a mini fridge in the unit, continental breakfast was just toast, muffins and cereal.
Review 10:The staff were amazing!! They were so helpful and friendly. I couldn't be more happy about the location. It was perfect!
Review 11:Noisy A/C in bedroom. Bathroom was not well presented (outdated). Also no toilet paper.
Review 12:Location! Staff very friendly and helpful with local knowledge.
Review 13:The staff was very helpful and kind. They even suggested the restaurant that is affiliated with the hotel and it was wonderful! We will definitely stay again!
Review 14:exposed wiring and no smoke detector in room 104. the outside is so filthy with overflowing ashtrays and garbage between the hotel and the parking area. really disgusting to pass through.
Review 15:The in room air conditioner dripped all night and that's all you could hear all night, I told the staff and they didn't even acknowledge I was saying anything.
Review 16:This place was clean and great location for anything downtown.
Review 17:Friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. Surprise complimentary wine in the evening. Clean. New management is renovating and it should be a perfect boutique hotel when completed.
Review 18:The room we booked was on the 3rd floor & no elevators, but the desk person found us a room on the 1st floor however, it was quite small, but we were glad not to have to carry everything up the stairs. Give & take situation.
Review 19:These are all minor things that one might expect in a vintage inn. None of them diminished our stay. Towels. Scratchy and a little dingy. Windows need a washing! AC unit a tad noisy. Fridge door wouldn't open, dragged on carpet. Breakfast pastries were poor quality with so many neat vendors nearby, the inn should partner with bakers and promote their specialty items (at a discount price?). I've not available on floor, had to ask for a bag from front desk. It was a solid block of ice that couldn't be used for drinks. Suggest filling an ice bucket for guests as they check in?
Review 20:It's an old building. That aside, the owners are doing absolutely everything to increase the value of your stay. Rooms are a nice size for the era, but baths are a bit tight. Tvs have been replaced to large flat screens. Bed and bedding comfy. Like that bikes were available but at $15/hour per bike, not interested. We would have taken them for a spin for $5/bike per hour.
Review 21:The room was muggy the entire length of our stay. The staff was not very friendly. Not rude, just not friendly. The watercress ute in the bathroom sink did not exist, unless you count dripping. Upon checkout they sprung a surprise fee on me for parking.
Review 22:The location was nice, only a block away from the sundial in St. Pete
Review 23:Parking costs extra but it is an attended lot. Rooms are small, as reported; more like a European hotel. Build a pool in the parking lot and you've got the perfect accommodation for your money's worth!.
Review 24:Staff was most friendly and helpful! Renovations are complete so no more worries about construction noise or smells, old furniture, and beds as reported in previous posts. Location is ideal for dining and nightlife, with the Sundial shopping and entertainment complex, bay front cafes and museums, and the soon to be renovated St. Pete Pier. Morning coffee (or evening cocktails) on the porch sets the tone for a relaxing day!
Review 25:The location, and the uniqueness of the hotel. Not a lot of bells and whistles, probably because the building is over 100 hers old. It was staying at someone's house as a guest.
Review 26:The room was very bright at night due a window over the door and a bright light on all night. No way to cover it up. Bathroom was small with mold staining on blind in shower window. Could not adjust AC and it was hot and humid, so it was a little on the warm side in the room at night.
Review 27:The hotel was located within walking distance of anything you could want downtown. The staff was super nice.
Review 28:There is a window over the door with no blind. Hall lights lit the room all night. Broken blinds in the bathroom where the window is adjacent to another building.
Review 29:Quiet, peaceful, Historic feel.
Review 30:Nothing bad but if I were going to change anything it would be better light in the table lamp. The bathroom is VERY small but that comes with a boutique hotel.
Review 31:The staff is excellent. In fact, the whole experience was terrific. It's great to sit on the porch and have wine and cheese and we even after breakfast out there. I want to do it all over again!
Review 32:Loud in-window air conditioning. Bring flip-flops.
Review 33:If you want the Vinoy's distance to the pier and downtown without the price, this could be the place for you. If you like rather authentic 20's furnishings and amenities (or lack thereof), this may be your place, too. The crew tries to keep it clean within the limits of what this architecture will permit (80-year door-frames and open cast-iron heaters in the rooms).
Review 34:Not a fan of showering the claw-foot tub. Glass transom over the door filled the room with light all night long.
Review 35:Quiet, small hotel, convenient to downtown and the waterfront. Lots of character.
Review 36:We loved the location of the Cordova Inn, everything was in walking distance. The Inn itself is very quaint, claw foot tub and decor was great. There are no elevators, which was fine for us, but others should note if that makes a difference. Breakfast was very good, loved eating on the front porch. Overall loved St. Pete and enjoyed our stay at the Cordova!
Review 37:the lock on my door did not work, t was not reported to maintenance. i moved rooms a day later. breakfast was sub par. the first days there were no eggs, one day no milk or orange juice (this is florida!). staff made apologies, but no effort to run over to the publix to get oj. wifi is weak on the top floor. bathrooms are worn.
Review 38:the location. the lobby looks great. the porch is nice.
Review 39:The bathroom was very small with no towel rails.
Review 40:Location; wonderful veranda; very nice breakfast; and, the best coffee machine in the world, available 24/7!
Review 41:The dining room is truly lovely, but unfortunately, FOX TV blares constantly in the corner. This really undermined the classy ambiance of the place. Many of us don't enjoy conservative political screed with our breakfast...
Review 42:Centrally located with easy access to freeways, downtown, & a terrific natural food market. Quaint old hotel with period furnishings that are very well-maintained. Cheap, secure parking. Excellent value for the price! Wonderful porch & all-day coffee.
Review 43:You will not find a cordova in know St Petersburg. It took us 45 minutes driving up and down and asking everybody in the city to find out that it is called the pier hotel. It has pier hotel on the outside etx - they just changed the name a month ago they said. Honestly ago email or anything to let us know would have been nice. So do not search for cordova in. The a/C made terrible noise even though unplugged. There was a very loud click ever 2 seconds - we did not get any sleep. The wifi upstairs does not work at all. The light on our bed was broken - literally there was a broken wire and you could see the cables. Due to the fact that the lamp was made of metal it is likely that the whole lamp can be electrified . So be careful her - we git a huge discount but I would hardly recommend it für the original price .
Review 44:Very nice atmosphere in this carribean styled hotel. It is located very well in St Petersburg downtown.
Review 45:Hotel was under renovation, so my room was missing curtains and the corridors smelled of paint.
Review 46:Southern style porch with rocking chair and hardwood floors. Free internet and great coffee-machine making all sorts of coffee / chocolate drinks. Friendly & helpful staff. Central location
Review 47:Our room lacked curtains, (rods were there, just no curtains) VERY Small bathroom, breakfast was horrible.
Review 48:Beautiful lobby, but downhill from there. Deanna was great
Review 49:shower was horrible....went from expecting a claw tub to a small shower that had an issue with faucet... either all hot or all cold but middle of faucet did not work at all
Review 50:location was perfect
Review 51:St. Pete is a lot of fun. Hotel is in a great locale. I wish I could remember the guy's name who checked us in; he was on duty Saturday afternoon the 7th of Feb. Great guy, big help.
Review 52:This hotel is currently under major reconstruction. It's in a total mess, smell, noise, construction workers, etc. They do not warn guests about it. Also, there is no wifi, furniture is old, room was not very clean, warm-like water in showers. Staff was not friendly. I won't be coming back for sure.
Review 53:Location
Review 54:The hotel room didn't have a nice view.
Review 55:This hotel is a historic building in a great location. Our room was clean and included necessary amenities. Friendly staff and nice free breakfast. Definitely good value for the price.
Review 56:under renovation (paint smell) view from room window
Review 57:hotel style and environment friendly staff distance to attractions clawfoot tub free specialty coffee machine in lobby
Review 58:Bathroom was small, which is kind of my expectation of a classic Hotel, but the water ran great. Do expect to pay for parking. The lot is right next door to the Hotel and $6.00 per day is a good price.
Review 59:Location was great. Staff very friendly. Room was adequate.
Review 60:The bedding could use an upgrade. Even if just the sheets and bedspread. Mattress wasn't omgee comfortable but comfy enough to get a good night sleep on.
Review 61:Location is great to explore the area. Staff was really nice. Retro style
Review 62:Soiled bedspread. Dirty refrigerator (including someone else's frozen meal in the freezer! Open shampoo container in shower. Disgruntled staff gossiping about how the hotel has gone downhill...in front of customers. No breakfast Thursday- staff did not show up. This hotel needs a manager/owner who focuses on the details. As another guest said "it's a little rough around the edges."
Review 63:Lots of original furniture and architectural touches. Pretty good breakfast. Central location.
Review 64:Did not receive the correct room on first night. No hot water on last night, otherwise a pleasant stay.
Review 65:Good location for my means Good breakfast. Comfortable bedding.
Review 66:The claw foot tub is an accident waiting to happen and the ac unit needs replacement
Review 67:The location right in the middle of everything and the wonderful porch. The breakfast was very good and coffee delicious.
Review 68:The AC unit in the window ran pretty loud.
Review 69:I loved the old school feel of the hotel. I generally prefer to stay in places that are unique to the area, and this one hit the nail right on the head. Easy booking and checkout, staff was very friendly, and the room was clean. I would definitely recommend staying here, and will do so again. Such a quaint hotel for being right in the city!
Review 70:I had read the reviews so I knew it was an older hotel, so no surprises there. We went for a rays game and were pleasantly surprised there was a free shuttle 2 blocks away. There were also several bars and restaurants within those 2 blocks as well. Excellent value for what we needed.
Review 71:I didn't like the cleanliness ( feeling) shower or the comfort of the bed. I think it was clean but because it's an old building it didn't feel as clean as I was hoping.
Review 72:I would recommend the hotel if you want a good location and if you want charming.

Review 82:It's a quaint, boutique style hotel.
Review 83:just a little small for my liking
Review 84:The staff was awesome.
Review 85:The smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling and the bath tub leaked all over the floor.
Review 86:Charm of the lobby and friendly staff
Review 87:The staff was so accommodating! Hotel was quaint and charming with all of the luxuries of home!
Review 88:Right across the street from where all the homeless sleep
