Reviews for Sangiro Lodge
Review 1:That my elderly father's unit & ours were at opposite ends No.1 & No.10 That the air conditioning hadn't been turned on in such a heatwave! It took 7 hours before our unit cooled down - 2 am ! The unit wasn't completely clean - rubbish still in the bins.
Review 2:We enjoyed the animals & birds wandering around.
Review 3:I do suggest to include cutlery and crockery in each chalet, especially seeing that the lodge offers a braai area per chalet. We loved braaing every evening, but were caught unawares, with no utensils, cutlery and crockery available
Review 4:Friendly staff and easily accessible
Review 5:Tired. Furnishings and rooms in general need to be refreshed and upgraded
Review 6:Small game reserve on location. Unique lodges. Jon Pierre went out of his way to help us and make us feel at home which helped you to overlook some things. The breakfast staff were the nicest people you could ever meet
Review 7:Jp, the rooster. All the staff knew that jp is a problem, all the questwho were sleeping in the chalets near his tree complain about him wakingus up from 04h00 in the morning till 06hoo, but still all the staff justlaugh if you complain, confirm that they know he is a problem, but noone does anything about the rooster. We are paying money to stay there.Do we, as the paid travelers, complaints not matter? Do those who onlywants to make profit not care about the travellers.I Went for businessreasons, to be waken up at 04h00 , have workshops the whole day, studyafterwards and only go to sleep at 24h00, . I had 4-5 hours sleep in 4days. Is that fair?.
Review 8:However, this time we had a cramped space, no view and the cottage was grubby. No towels, they hadn't come from the laundry so we got a pile of hand towels. First time we stayed there the cottage was shabby but charming, this time it was shabby and grubby. There are several new cottages being built on the site and that might improve things.
Review 9:Sangiro is very close to the N1, it is small and personal. When we stayed there about five weeks earlier we were very pleased, liked the spacious accommodation and the surprising view of various animals around the lodge,
Review 10:For overnighting, easy access, different to the norm, bit of the outdoors, not everones cup of tea, but hey, you pay for what you get. I'll use it again !
Review 11:The Chalets for a Game Reserve are dreadful. None of the windows looked onto the Game Reserve and there was no window in the lounge.
Review 12:The location near the N1. Space and being in a Game Reserve
Review 13:The cockerel crowing at 4 in the morning - a beautiful bird but noisy!
Review 14:The amazement when I realised the animals in the field over the drive weren't cows but oryx, or blesbok. Then I saw the springbok, the zebra and lots more (none dangerous, thank goodness). There are not only African wildlife though, also peacocks and llamas, all making their home under our deck.
Review 15:i think they should provide some cutlery of some sort for convienence.
Review 16:I liked the atmosphere, it was nice, peaceful and quite, tranqility at its best..the best place to relax
Review 17:No linen or towels in the room (sorry, the laundry was not delivered...). The aircon didn't work so no sleep in the heat. Sparse and tired furnishing. Electric plugs fallen off the wall hanging by the wiring. No security. I could go on...
Review 18:Close to N2
Review 19:The resident Rooster: He started crowing outside our window at 03h20. He crows for 5 minutes, then takes a break for 5. This goes on until about 05h30, until the sun comes up. This will definitely compromise the experience of any guest. The Lodge would do itself a favour to get rid of him.
Review 20:Expensive on the weekend we came to use the facility. Way above whats its worth. Its. 2 to 3 star at best. Not comfortable, the showers not clean and the rooms not pristine. I was highly disappointed, the service was fair though not exceptional. I would recommend other places in Bloem.
Review 21:Easy access to freeway, tranquil, picturesque setting.
Review 22:Peacocks kept us awake at night. Directions of the website were inadequate - suggest adding exit number and name which would have saved us quite a lot of time and aggravation.
Review 23:Setup and general layout was excellent.
Review 24:The reservation staff, did not refund me for money I had paid even though they had promised to look through their documentation.
Review 25:Self-catering apartment with barbeque facilities but no cutlery or crockery. No on-site restaurant.
