Reviews for Treasure Bay Resort and Marina

Review 1:Every staff member we encountered made us feel so welcome and appreciated....well trained & friendly...hotel was located close to many restaurants, easy beach access, & shopping . I liked the feel of an original beach hotel but one that had been totally remodeled into a modern clean facility. We had a wonderful time .

Review 2:Very disappointed that all of the workout equipment in the exercise room was out of order. Housekeeping could have been better. We were there for a month and we had to ask for clean sheets and to have the room vacumned.

Review 3:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was a very nice hotel and in a beautiful location with views of the sunset.

Review 4:Says on the description that they don't allow pets, so we were surprised to find dogs on site. They do allow pets for a charge, so beware !

Review 5:Very clean, in a great location for the public beach .

Review 6:The owners need to invest a bit more money to make this an exceptional property. And maybe a staff person dedicated to making improvements. Example, our tub was chipped, the towel rods were falling off, and the doors didn't fit as good as they should.

Review 7:Right across the street from the beach, very helpful front desk staff!

Review 8:Dad's house is just too small for our huge family to invade over the holidays. Kids, phones, iPads, iPods, laptops, friends, clothes, gifts. We needed a Christmas annex! We found it at Treasure Bay this year. Clean, roomy, great location, plenty of snacks to walk to, tons of parking, beach across the street and a balcony with a waterview just behind us. The staff bent over backwards for us as kids kept traveling in and we kept adding rooms. Dawn, our favorite front desk manager was so friendly and helpful - a terrific rep for this groovy little affordable property.

Review 9:Door had very bad insulation. I could see wide space under the door. One night woke up 3am from noise across the hallway's room. Maid service was poor. I wanted cleaning services only couple times in a week long stay, but room wasn't vacuumed, no shampoo or coffee refills provided. Treasure island beach didn't have as soft sand as other beaches, so we ended going to different locations, which added cost for parking ($12 to $24 a day)

Review 10:Close to beach. Area has nice leisure feel. Close to John's pass village with places to eat and do water activities. Comfortable beds. Hotel is old, but nice inside and has swimming pool and hot tub. It's not fancy place, but much better than many and many dumpster looking motels in the area.

Review 11:There was maintanance work going on in the lounge area on the second floor. The hammering and drilling began around 8 am. We were on the 3rd floor and my husband did not enjoy being woken up by that noise. I went down to tell the guy to wait until after 9 to start this kind of activity. His answer back was so insensitive. I wanted to remind him that we are paying for staying at that hotel. But I kept my mouth shout. He did get the message though and did stop the noise for a couple of hours.

Review 12:I had written about the problem I had with the facility the last time I had stayed there. Troy checked us in, so my note on the reservation and made sure we did not have that problem again.

Review 13:Nothing

Review 14:From parking through check in, everything was professional and friendly. Then our canal side room was such a pleasant surprise, spacious and clean.

Review 15:Choose "Bay view" if you have the option. With a "Gulf view" room you have a direct view - on the main road.

Review 16:Very friendly and helpful staff Great value for money!

Review 17:Nothing.

Review 18:Staff were very friendly and always helpful. Location was very central and the view from the room was breathtakingly great. Room was spacious.

Review 19:We only spent the night after a wedding reception, but if we were looking for a place to stay on a vacation we would come here. The beach is right across the street, boat rental next door, a nice deck where you can have your morning coffee. We really enjoyed our stay.

Review 20:Would have been lovely if there was a bar to watch the sunsets but I believe this is in hand.

Review 21:The staff were excellent friendly and very helpful. The location was excellent and the tea/coffee facilities in the second floor and TV room a great idea especially for families.

Review 22:I was completely happy with everything............

Review 23:The staff was very friendly...I loved the decor and the colors used....(greens)..very calming Location was excellent..easy to get in and out The free coffee/hot chocolate was a hit with me

Review 24:Housekeeping did not seem to really clean well. Good thing we are clean.

Review 25:The location was excellent and the view was very nice. Convenient to excellent dining and shopping within walking distance. beach access across the street.

Review 26:Front lobby and check in area seemed out dated. It was clean but it looked old. Clean staff was sitting around and talking back by the elevators.

Review 27:Location, staff was friendly and helpful

Review 28:one occasion the room was cleaned and there were no clean towels left in the bathroom, had to go to front desk to ask for some.......would have liked breakfast in hotel

Review 29:liked location, room was big, quiet at night

Review 30:No bad experience but they were working on the roof top bar and was not open yet.

Review 31:Location, location, location. Everything was walking distance and the bus stop was right out front to get around further. Beach is awesome and not crowded at all.

Review 32:have neck problems and wished the pillows were fuller instead of flat. the elevator had a strong smell of oil.

Review 33:friendly and clean the chamber maids were awesome and friendly. the pool and hot tub were real nice at the end of the day. excellent location to the beach.

Review 34:The level of facilities, location and staff friendliness made this great value for money - complimentary breakfast drinks, pool and beach towels, superb views of gulf and harbour

Review 35:Small bathroom, toilet got stucked, few towels available and small in size, superficial cleaning

Review 36:The location. Wonderful view on the Boca Ciega Bay, beach access just across the street, short distance from Jonh's Pass stores and restorants.

Review 37:Bed was not comfortable

Review 38:awesome staff, Clean, safe, a great location, shopping near by, all around just pleasure to be guest here. Come back for second stay total visit was 9 days. and we all agree it was an Awesome time. Hope will be able to come back soon.

Review 39:I was able to check in an hour earlier which was great since it was raining and our beach visit was cut short. The room was nice and clean as well as the outside area. Will stay at this hotel again.

Review 40:Stayed there for three days with my family and overall I left with avery bitter feeling. It is always about value for money and when wedecided to visit Treasure Island I wanted to have a great time and spoilmy family. We had reserved a couple of weeks in advance two rooms forthree days and had a total bill off +/- 1100.00 dollars. Locationwas great but all the rest disappointed. Check-in was cold and notpleasant at all, the rooms were out of date and if they want to chargethose prices then they need to urgently reinvest in their product.Fixtures missing / broken, the ac exhaust gives directly onto heside of the bed and can’t be changed so my wife left with a cold, dirtycarpet, hairs in sink (and it was not ours), old chewing gum stickingagainst side of the bed, no breakfast included or provided, tea andcoffee facilities in the room but no tea, no milk, coffee bags are notthe right size for the machine and so you drink dark water with a lighttaste of coffee. After the first night we asked for extra towels as wewere four people per room and only two provided. The hotel staff tookthis as we do not need service and so when we came back from dinner Imade up the beds of both rooms. After talking to reception someone fromhousekeeping came and explained that we only needed towels and refusedservice (a blunt lie as I was there when my sister in law asked for thetowels). Did the check-out and again very poor and there is probably agood reason why they never asked if I was happy with my stay. I came tocheck-out twice as I had to leave one room at 11am and could keep theother one till 1pm and they never asked how my stay was so they areprobably aware of their issues! In other words: if you just need a bedto sleep and have “Motel one” prices (50 dollars per night then I wouldhave left happy but if you pay 4 star hotel rates then do not go there!!

Review 41:Location

Review 42:I wanted to check out early Sunday, because of weather a having damageto my home in St. Pete. Was hoping to get a small refund of sort but wastold no. So a little disappointed about that.

Review 43:Bedside lamp was so hard to turn on. Maintainance came and showed me the secret but it was impossible for the 87 yr old to master.

Review 44:Walk to Waffle House for Breakfast, and across the street to the beach. Short walk to the Middle Grounds Grill for dinner and then sat on the second floor balcony and looked across to the beach. Marina patio view was relaxing.

Review 45:Only slight negative was the provision of one, quite flat, pillow per person.

Review 46:Ideally located for beach, restaurants and shops. Very clean and well kept. Good views over the marina.

Review 47:They didn't have breakfast, but was adding it in the near future.

Review 48:The motel always smelled clean when we walked in. The staff was very friendly. They always had fresh orange water available for the patrons.

Review 49:Would like to have a safe in the room. Complimentary breakfast would also be a big plus. "Kitchen" did not have plates, flat ware, etc. fridge and coffee maker and sink were nice

Review 50:Location, cleanliness of the room.

Review 51:The service given was simply awesome, the room and location were perfect for us as well. Working at a 4 star hotel back in illinois i always prefer these motels simply because of cost and how laid back they are even though i could get a hotel discount such as 39 dollars a night like we did up in redington beach for 7 days for 230 bucks. And plus your not around all the yuppies.

Review 52:House keeping was very rude. Needed more towels and they gave attitude about it. We were sitting on the patio when one of the ladies came into clean. She told us to move our things so they could clean but the tone of voice and her attitude was not needed.

Review 53:We liked the hotel in general. Close to the beach which is where we were getting married so we got ready there and walked across the street for the wedding.

Review 54:The cleaning crew was slow, taking most of each day to clear out of the halls. They spent a lot of time standing around talking with each other about where they wanted to work.

Review 55:The front desk workers were extraordinarily helpful. The pool, which was refreshingly clean, had fun 1960's music playing softly in the backgound.

Review 56:No plates etc. in kitchenette, consistently received not enough towels, furniture was dusty upon arrival. Did not enquire on checking out if we had enjoyed our stay

Review 57:Bed covering was not changed out daily.maids remade beds with same day covering as the day before.wasn't told about any amenities during stay.beds uncomfortable pillows to flat and refrigerator had broken rails.crack sink in bathroom

Review 58:Hotel was clean and fresh smelling.front desk was courteous

Review 59:Would like to see a continental breakfast offering.

Review 60:We liked the patio area and coffee setup where we watched a great sunset. We stayed on the 1st floor and loved the patio overlooking the marina. Got a beautiful sunrise from our private patio!

Review 61:Thought the hotel sat on the beach, kinda deceiving. Creepy guy that works there always made sounds when we walked by in our bathing suites.

Review 62:Hotel was nice and clean. We would stay again. Had one of the cleanest pools and hot tubs I have ever see.

Review 63:ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

Review 64:GREAT ROOM...GREAT STAFF...GREAT VIEW OF THE OCEAN. .It was a great room, comfy beds, friendly staff, very clean room. My husband and i were very pleased. Don't know why people say anything bad about the hotel. If we are ever in the area again I know exactly were we will be staying. THANKS TREASURE BAY AND MARINA FOR MAKING OUR FLORIDA VACATION EVERYTHING WE THOUGHT IT WOULD BE AND MORE.

Review 65:Across the street from the beach, all rooms with terrace, waffle house next door (check with reception for breakfast voucher), large sun roof with tables and chairs, small but clean pool with separate hot tub, tables, chairs and beds.

Review 66:Beds not very comfortable, sheets thin and pillows could be better.

Review 67:Across from the beach but still had good views our boys liked the pool and hot tub.

Review 68:Enjoyed the deck on the second floor. Right across the street from the beach and lovely walkway along the hotels for night walking. Walking distance to large grocery ,several restaurants, ice cream.

Review 69:Only stayed one night as we were passing through but very friendly and helpful staff who gave us a great recommendation for a bar/restaurant (Ricky T's) nearby. Hotel room was very clean and cool and we were very comfortable for our short stay. No problems staying on site the following day even though we weren't actually staying there overnight.

Review 70:Being rushed out of the room in the mornings by a rude male from housekeeping, during a 5 day stay. Had to put Do Not Disturb sign out for following days.

Review 71:The affordability, proximity to the beach, the clean rooms

Review 72:YOU advertised it was a Gulf view!!! Yeah if the motel across the street was not there and you had binoculars !!! VERY deceiving! ad on your part very disappointed

Review 73:not far from johns pass

Review 74:I added a room for Tuesday night, and the cost for that room was much greater than for our first three nights. Plus, on Wednesday workmen tore up the carpet in the hall; for the whole day, dust from old carpet and dirt hung in the air. Workers did not have masks for protection and neither did the guests. That evening, furniture in our room was covered in dust. Major concern, what toxins had we breathed?

Review 75:Excellent location! Beaches and trolley were both very convenient. Cost per night for our first nights was reasonable; and the young man, Andrew(?), who checked us in, was helpful and very pleasant.

Review 76:Although our particular room had been recently refurbished the reminder of the premises had a tired and shabby look. although the maids were generally quite pleasant we again found a drop from previous standards of housekeeping. For the price charged, it would not have been unreasonable to expect something more than a coffee-making machine in the so-called breakfast area.

Review 77:Hotel was well-placed for beach and surrounding facilities and attractions.

Review 78:They do allow dogs - we had a barker the 1st 2 nights. The staff made every effort to address the issue

Review 79:Andy C was very helpful every time we had a question. Our room was recently renovated and very nice.

Review 80:I have nothing at all to say bad about the hotel and its staff. We've been here 3 out of 5 years, and the other 2 years we stayed in St. Pete beach

Review 81:Loved the view of the ocean without the cost of being beachfront property. The staff is always so kind and go out of their way to fix any issues that might arise. We lived the fact that a waffle house was literally with 25 steps and and ice cream shop equally as close. We felt very safe getting around and crossing the main road to access the public beach. Locals are very obeying of the pedestrian crossings

Review 82:No view except the front parking lot. Disappointed that "Gulfside" meant you could actually see the Gulf, This was misleading in description. When we arrived desk clerk was alone with no other help available - clerk was on phone for approx. 8 minutes trying to book s room for phone customer. He was pleasant, but didn't ackknowdge us until phone booking was secured. We waited patiently, for at least 8-10 minutes before we were acknowledged and registered and given our room keys. He was polite and apologized for the phone....he was alone with no backup desk clerk.

Review 83:Was very impressed w Andrew / he was professional, courteous and helpful.

Review 84:I could get a Gulf view or a marina view when I booked the room. You can't get a gulf view across the street with tall hotels in the way with only3 floors.

Review 85:Rooms were nice & big. Balcony was nice. Nice location.

Review 86:Front desk was unmanned on multiple occasions.

Review 87:Hotel location and separate room balcony with chairs Public elevated deck with tables and umbrellas Easy walk to beach and restaurants On site laundry

Review 88:only two pillows per bed, had to ask for a real blanket. The AC was not great

Review 89:Staff was very nice. The location is great. The pool area and deck are nice

Review 90:Front desk staff at check-in and check-out was not welcoming/rather unfriendly.

Review 91:Recommend to book a room with a view to the bay area (quiet). Hotel is a few steps away (across the main street) from the beautiful beaches. Very clean room and hotel facilities.

Review 92:The staff was minimal and sometimes hard to find.

Review 93:I liked being able to see the beach from my room. They had fresh lemon ice water in the lobby. Walking distance to beach and lots of activities.

Review 94:WiFi needs to be upgraded as we basically had no reception in our room for the entire two weeks. Pillows could have been more comfortable.

Review 95:Very nice older hotel undergoing remodeling. Good location, great staff, nice pool, lots of parking. The hotel is within walking distance of several good places to eat. Seemed very secure.

Review 96:Maid service was daily but a little lacking on actual "cleaning". Bathroom was not actually cleaned over the entire week; just new towels, etc.

Review 97:Older facility but has been updated and is well maintained. Front desk staff extremely pleasant and helpful.

Review 98:we had a LOT of problems with other guests. We went for a family holiday weekend with our daughter and family but the behaviour and noise of the many young hooligans on Spring Break ruined it for us. The staff did move us to other rooms but they turned out to be worse and my husband ended up sleeping in the car! A very expensive holiday ruined.

Review 99:The location is great and if it had been better weather we would have enjoyed the surroundings. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was good.

Review 100:Very bad smell in elevator and stairway. Dirty floor in elevator. The furniture in the room was very outdated and worn out. Needed more pillows and with the cold last week - blankets. The hallway colors were horrible! Empty water bottle stayed on our balcony.

Review 101:The staff was very friendly. We changed our reservation to another hotel. Booking.com was great and arranged all. No cancellation fees were charged.

Review 102:Everything was better than expected!!

Review 103:It was a great location, close to everything . We arrived after dark and the evening attendant was most helpful with his suggestions of places to eat. and places to see during our stay. The beach was right across the street and there were several excellent restaurants close by

Review 104:coffee was complimentary, but wouldn't recommend it...watered down! But there is a Waffle House next door and McDonalds down the street if you want a quick cup!

Review 105:pool, hot tub, location, price

Review 106:My only problem is that I believed the advertising about the gulf views and the proximity to the beach.I simply don't believe I received what my booking confirmation described.

Review 107:The convenience of restaurants and all shopping and attractions

Review 108:The pillows were flat and not squishy at all. Requested a blanket which was some synthetics staticky thing.

Review 109:Loved the tranquility of the marina and the festive and friendly feel of the beach right across the street.

Review 110:The views water in the front and back of hotel. Hot tub and pool. Large rooms with granite countertop kitchenette. Computer and printer in lobby. Laundry room. Large sitting area and patio on second floor. Comfy beds. Balconies in all rooms. Tropical decor. Employees are all very helpful and friendly. Walking distance to several bars and restaurants. We have stayed here 5 times in the past 3 years. Always look forward to going back.

Review 111:No breakfast , more food options in the Hotel ie. Bar, restaurant. With terrance and pool they have that really should be a must and would have made it a 10 out of 10 .

Review 112:Staff were great, good value for money, pool, location everything was s short drive away.

Review 113:there was nothing to dislike

Review 114:the best, cleanest, wonderful staff fresh coffee ,hot chocolate and tea all day work out room with tv we took our pillows never used them will definatly tell everyone and will return there next year we give this place a 10 for sure higher if we could keep up the good work

Review 115:Laundry facilities were a hastle (not the hotels fault) other guests would start loads then leave them unattended, very frustrating. And we kept getting a little lizard in our room (our girls loved it). It kept coming in from around the air unit.

Review 116:Location,Location,Location! Right across the street from a public beach access with playground equipment. Had sand toys and chairs we could borrow so we didn't have to bring our own. View from the Bay side was beautiful. Rooms were tastefully updated.

Review 117:Beds were fine but pillows were quite uncomfortable. Beds lacked a blanket as well and it was kind of chilly. The odor coming from the gym room was awful. Location was a long walk between the restaurants, shopping, water attractions at John's Pass Village in Madeira Beach and the tons of fun beach bars in St. Pete's Beach so we used the car alot.

Review 118:Beach was across the street. Our quiet, 3rd floor room had a private balcony overlooking the boats and sunrises over the marina. Hotel was well kept, furnishings were attractive. Pool and hot tub looked nice but we didn't use them. Computer/printer to print our own boarding passes. On site parking was plentiful. Lots to like about Treasure Bay Hotel.

Review 119:Would have been nice to have restaurant and /or bar & grille on site.

Review 120:Staff was great, grounds perfect. Enjoyed our stay, felt safe at the resort.

Review 121:You will have to drive a ways to find good restaurants, but some bar and grills nearby.

Review 122:Rooms were very clean and service excellent. Hotel was very quiet and we got a good nights sleep.

Review 123:Bed could be better

Review 124:Great beach 5 minute walk Easy parking Close to restaurants -bars Staff probably the best ever encountered Big room with balcony

Review 125:there was not much we did not like ,there was some cosmetic work that needs to be done

Review 126:staff was nice & friendly ,the location was great, beds were comfortable , they toke care of what ever problem we had

Review 127:The hot tub was a little chilly.

Review 128:We were in town visiting family and decided to stay for a night at the hotel. It was a wonderful choice. The staff was very helpful and welcoming and the facilities were very clean. The deck to view the sunrise and sunset is perfect!

Review 129:The pillows were a little uncomfortable.

Review 130:It was a beautiful place to stay, we had a ground floor bay view room, it was so peaceful and quiet, just what the doctor ordered, staff were friendly and polite, facilities were great, will definitely stay there again and recommend to all my friends and family.

Review 131:Couldn't find anything we didn't like.

Review 132:This is a great hotel. Have paid much more for less. Hotel has been updated nicely. Very clean, very friendly staff. Nice facilities that didn't close as long as you were quite. Our room faced the marina which we loved. Such a wonderful experience we added an extra day.

Review 133:Cleaning people knocking on for and before I could get there to open it, they used key to come on in. It was 9:30, check out time 11:00, so why are they trying to come in and clean when people are still in the rooms not checked out? Good thing I wasn't naked. Make sure to hang the do no disturb sign out when you first get to your room.

Review 134:This is an awesome place for the money. Kitchenette, large room, balcony, free coffee 24 hours a day, nice front desk people. Make sure to hang the do no disturb sign out when you first get to your room. See other didn't like comment.

Review 135:We could have used extra pillows/ towels/facecloths for a family of 4, the TV quality was poor, the elevator smelled of damp cloths.

Review 136:We liked the friendly professional greeting, size of room, comfortable beds.

Review 137:Only two (very firm) pillows per bed.

Review 138:The club room was wonderful and the location (right across from the public beach) couldn't have been any better. The patio looked over the marina so we had a really nice view.
