Reviews for Fort Conde Inn - Mobile

Review 1:The location is fabulous. Within walking distance to great places to eat and sights to visit. Easy on and off the highways for business travel. In addition, the room was lovely and also business friendly.

Review 2:breakfast is excellent, and the cookies prepared for later were great. all the staff were great and very knowledgeable about the area and how to get around. Robbie was wonderful preparing breakfast and baking cookies.

Review 3:I needed a softer pillow and an alternative to the heavy bedspread quilt and a sheet. Would have liked a TV IN DOWNSTAIRS

Review 4:Clean. Cookies. Fantastic breakfast by Chef Robey. Close to stuff. Towels soaps and lotions. Parking. Staff. Liked the house and layout.

Review 5:Even after having read the excellent reviews, Fort Conde Inn exceeded our expectations. The property is convenient to downtown, yet the area is quiet, safe and has ample parking. The staff was courteous, personable and attentive to all needs. There are not enough characters available in this message box to describe the wonderful breakfast and Chef Robbie's extraordinary efforts to please. The rooms were spacious, clean and elegantly furnished. We would happily return to Fort Conde Inn and highly recommend it to any travelers.

Review 6:The beds were not as used and we did not sleep very well.

Review 7:Nice old house; totally renovated; very charming. Breakfast was excellent. To stay at a Bed & Breakfast is special and was a well decision.

Review 8:Fort Conde inn is hidden gem of mobile!!! I lived in mobile for 5 years and on coming back for a Quick visit. We chose here to Stay. Let me tell you, I will never stay anywhere else again. Review 9:just a quick overnight but the decor and facility were perfect! Breakfast made to order - outstanding. Just a quick walk to dinner around the corner.

Review 10:We loved everything about Forte Conde Inn. We stayed in the main house which was just beautiful and traditional. Even though we were directly next the main roads, traffic was not an issue at all. Felt like royalty and breakfast was out of this world. Very personal and the chef was very nice, and friendly. Excellent value for money and within walking distance to some of the museums, highly recommend visiting the Forte and Mobile Museum. Also close to the USS Alabama but you will need a car for this attraction, not sure if there are buses available.

Review 11:Wifi was hard to connect.

Review 12:This house is absolutely gorgeous and historical, and the amenities are fantastic. I have never stayed in a better place. Outstanding location, and you feel like you've gone back in time.

Review 13:Beautiful, Charming and Comfortable. This is Hotel or B&B is what true Southern Hospitality is all about. Professional and courteous staff. I can't wait to come back. This was the first time for me and my Girlfriend in Mobile and it definitely won't be our last. They also have an amazing Chef.

Review 14:The General Manager Taylor Giles sure knows how to take care of the folks staying here. From the moment we arrived he was busy making sure our stay was perfect. Thanks again Taylor! Beautiful and very clean B & B with an amazing staff Awesome made to order breakfast each morning.

Review 15:NOTHING!

Review 16:Staff was great. The chef that prepared our breakfast was the nicest man ever! Also the food he cooked was great, cant wait to get back there and we will stay there.

Review 17:Nothing!!

Review 18:Fort Conde Inn is definitely a 5 star bed and breakfast, from the made to order breakfast to the historic inn renovated with today's luxury's. There are many museums nearby telling of Mobile's History.

Review 19:The staff was very friendly and personable, the breakfast was fantastic and the over-all experience was really a delight. Located in a very convenient location to stroll around the Historic District.

Review 20:The inn is absolutely beautiful, the workers are extremely friendly & professional, breakfast was delicious & the bed was so comfortable. Such a classy place. Also loved the keurigs

Review 21:I have difficulty walking up stairs. The elevator door was locked most of the time and our key would not work. When we asked to be moved to a lower room we were told they were all taken although we did not see another guest in the whole facility until the fourth day. The street was poorly lit at night and everything seemed deserted. It was a little scary.

Review 22:The setting was very interesting. The food great and the room very comfortable.

Review 23:Loved all of it.

Review 24:We loved this B&B. What a gem of a place this was. The rooms were very comfortable. The made to order breakfast was excellent as well as the location of the Inn. The staff was very helpful with providing us with suggestions of restaurants and points of interest.

Review 25:A king would have been nicer than a queen.

Review 26:General apearance of the room, court yard, and breakfast were excellent. Location was perfect for exploring Mobile.

Review 27:High thread count sheets, heavenly comfortable mattresses, delicious breakfasts prepared by our own chef each day, porches for contemplation of lovely autumn days, being treated as a person each day ... the best bed & breakfast we have ever stayed in!

Review 28:Room a bit small but adequate and consistent with room rate.

Review 29:Gourmet breakfast Convenient location Friendly helpful management Immaculate housekeeping Had all of the important amenities

Review 30:beautifully restored and great historical location with easy parking. Lovely cooked to order breakfast. We had eggs benedict with a seafood sauce and delicious home made muffins.

Review 31:The traffic noise surrounding on three sides of the property. Breakfast did not meet the Internet hype.

Review 32:A beautiful, well restored property. Close to Dolphine Street and historic district.

Review 33:Very thin walls, you hear everything from all sides.

Review 34:The breakfast was the highlight of our stay. The rooms were recently renovated and are very clean.

Review 35:Originally booked one of the small rooms in the back of the property. VERY small with only a full bed. Staff agreed to upgrade for a price, but refused to cancel my reservations. Make sure you are aware of which room you are getting when you book. There are no dining options in the area. And I mean NONE. Forced to drive for dining.

Review 36:The queen room upstairs was beautiful and very comfortable. The staff is very friendly. The location is great. Very close to downtown, and I-10 access. Property is secure and very well maintained.

Review 37:A beautifully restored 1839 home. Highly recommend the "Meredith" room, which has exquisite furnishings. The staff is efficient and the Chef will prepare breakfast of your choice. Try the Eggs Benedict or Belgian Waffles with vanilla ice cream. Clientele is mostly professional couples and international travelers.

Review 73:Everything was perfect, clean and breakfast was delicious.

Review 74:visit there and you tell me what not to like

Review 75:Wonderful service, beautiful place, attention to details and guests.

Review 76:I was there for only one night but I felt like I was at home. The personnel are friendly, open and helpful. The buildings and their interiors are beautiful, charming and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious.

Review 77:The king size bed was incredibly comfortable! This B&B is one of the best I have ever stayed in on vacation! Highly recommend the king suite!

Review 78:There wasn't much to not like; but we asked the lady that checked us in for a local seafood restaurant recommendation, she recommended Wintzell's (an area chain, which was good), but the next day we discovered Ed's Seafood Shed, which was soooooo delicious.

Review 79:The rooms were beautiful, the staff helpful, the breakfast delicious. My husband is over 6 feet tall and loved that the shower was actually above his head (a rare occurance). The bed was soft and plush, and the balcony just outside our room in the main building had a lovely view of the rest of the historic buildings on the road and the general city skyline.

Review 80:Close to I-65 with traffic 24 hours, but sleep machine on bedside table magically blocked out the noise! Loved the sleep machine so much (made in the USA) we actually bought one when we returned home!!

Review 81:The decor is very nice & period appropriate. The bed was extremely comfortable with high quality linens - the spa bath was heaven with high end amenities (no corners cut here). Wonderful breakfast cooked to order with a wide range to select from, plus a great staff!! Stayed in the guest suite - very spacious but cozy ! Woke up after spending only one night and wish we could spend one more night at this special Inn!

Review 82:There were several trains at night that were blowing their whistle and you can hear freeway traffic.

Review 83:The house is beautiful and the breakfast was good. The staff was friendly.

Review 84:I didn't like that I couldn't stay longer! I will be back and will recommend Fort Conde Inn to friends!

Review 85:The breakfast was amazing, the L'Occitane toiletries are wonderful, staff is so nice, the inn is beautiful!

Review 86:everything was perfect

Review 87:This hotel is actually a cluster of restored old two story homes downtown a block from fort Conde. The restoration was thoughtful and the rooms exquisite - custom gourmet breakfast in the main house, friendly staff, kruig coffee makers in each room, hardwood floors, rice beds - to much to mention. Perfect location for walking the historic city and less expensive than the 'box' hotels downtown. They really go the extra mile here and we will be back for sure!

Review 88:A little close to transportation.

Review 89:This is the best place we could imagine. We were upgraded to a three bedroom house and the furnishings and finishes were perfect. The staff was professional and helpful and the breakfast was excellent.

Review 90:Not one thing.. Loved every bit.

Review 91:Everything.. Every ounce of it. From Alan & Matthew doing everything imaginable to making our trip more than perfect. They should give classes on hospitality. Robbie the chef had me believing I was in heaven every morning for breakfast and the hotel itself is classic "sweet home Alabama". I felt like I was in my own home . My own beautiful well designed manicured southern home. It was everything great I imagined the South to be It was my first trip to Mobile and because of this hotel, Mobile has become one of my favorite cities.. Thank you guys. i'll be coming back soon. . I miss you already

Review 92:No clothes hangers provided in our room.

Review 93:Unique location; the owners own or operate all the beautiful buildings in their street. Also, it is very quiet yet just a short walk from central Mobile. Rooms are delightfully finished with almost everything you could need. Breakfasts are a delight, each individually cooked to order.

Review 94:There were a few small flaws that I felt needed attention. There was amissing plug/outlet cover and the faucet in the kitchenette wereloose/not secured, which made them difficult to turn on/off. Thebedside lamp was plugged into the outlet without a cover and the cordwas extended across the wall, I felt that it should have been pluggedinto an outlet that was hidden behind the bed or table.

Review 95:It was wonderful for our plans for Mardi Gras. Location was great. Therooms very tastfully done. The staff "Southern Friendly" whichis always a plus.

Review 96:The carriage house rooms are very small so if you are staying for more than a night or are going to spend alot of time in the room then I would recommend an upgrade to a different room .

Review 97:The location is great and the breakfast is awesome!

Review 98:Gorgeous. Kind and professional staff, perfectly restored neighborhood, fantastic southern style rooms. Just perfect.

Review 99:Location horrible. In between two highways. Main house and my room smelled like musty old curtains.

Review 100:Food was excellent. Friendly staff.

Review 101:Very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The rooms were clean and the homestyle charm made the trip even more relaxing.

Review 102:the host is very nice, had a really good time and met nice people there.

Review 103:not a thing. Everything was perfect.
