Reviews for Makapa Lodge

Review 1:Not a great breakfast for those on a LCHF diet.

Review 2:The friendliness of Ian Margaret, and the marvellous grounds. Plenty of bird life, about which Ian is fascinatingly passionate and knowledgable. A beautiful place to stay.

Review 3:Makapa lodge is a wonderful place to stay. Pieceful and quiet location on the mountainside with stunning views over Sun Valley and Noordhoek beach. Iain and Margaret really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Highly recommended!

Review 4:Wooden cottages require air conditioning during summer

Review 5:Adjacent to mountain. Stunning views. Small outdoor swimming pool but heated. Good value for money

Review 6:Lovely facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff including the owners Ian and a Margaret who were very attentive to our needs. Super breakfasts. Close to our areas of interest. Excellent visit

Review 7:The Cottage was certainly not anything like the 4 star B&B's I have frequented in the past. The Fan was not functional due to a serious imbalance during operation and the place got incredibly hot inside in the afternoon. The grouting in the bathroom was dark stained in places due to aged mold and gave me the feeling of a 2 star place with poor attention to maintenance. I would try staying in the main B&B but would give the cottage a miss. Also at the price I did not find it good value for money for Fish hoek.

Review 8:The view of the hills and ocean in the far distance were pleasant. The hosts were very friendly indeed. The location next to the indigenous fynbos was staggeringly beautiful.

Review 9:This B&B is a gem. Ian and Margaret are doing a wonderful job of making you feel welcome, with personal service catering for your every need. The location is stunning, sitting at the very top of Capri village with a view over Noordhoek beach. I have stayed in two different rooms and they were both very comfortable and well equipped. Also, Margaret cooks a delicious breakfast. The pool area is very nice, and there is also a beautiful garden.

Review 10:Very nice place ideally located between the city of Cape town and Cape Point. The owners are very nice and gave us very good tips of what to see in the surrounding area. Would be nice to stay with them again.

Review 11:The Nest was not as luxurious as the en suite rooms, but I actually preferred the exclusivity and magnificent views.

Review 12:The Nest was a self catering log cabin slightly removed from main house and en suite rooms. Perfect for solo travellers and couples looking for peace, quiet and privacy. Lovely gardens, swimming pool, fantastic views and good amenities for all that you would require for a self catering holiday Ian and Maggie were excellent hosts and eager to assist with any requests and advice about tours, transport and info regarding the general surroundings. I would not hesitate in recommending Makapa Lodge to anyone visiting the area and will most certainly consider another stay myself.
