Reviews for Napa Farmhouse Inn
Review 1:Perfectly located among some of the best wineries. Homey and comfortable, with lovely rooms and garden. Mimi is great. Her homemade baked goods for breakfast were delicious. We plan on returning.
Review 2:cheap bedding, products, and toilet paper. we stayed in the carriage house and only received a continental breakfast . Most of the pastries did not seem to fresh and the some of the fruit seemed past it prime. could go on
Review 3:MiMi was an excellent host and the property was absolutely pristine. Our room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the garden area. We recommend the Napa Farmhouse Inn without reservation and look forward to staying again (for much longer next time!).
Review 4:A bit overelaborate, and would have benefitted ffrom coffee making facility in the room
Review 5:Lovely room and very good experience in this style of accomodation
Review 6:Not only did we feel like the price was exorbitant, but the owner came off as extremely judgmental of us while chatting us up and hovered over us constantly (leave us be, we don't need to be "entertained"). She bragged incessantly about having an organic farm (which I'm all for, but enough already) and berated us for checking in early (despite having arranged it in advance) and coming down for coffee and not breakfast at the same time the next morning (she was very annoyed she had to re-heat some pastry). It was like staying with an estranged relative.
Review 7:The property is very nice and conveniently located to the wedding venue we were attending. The frittata we had for breakfast was delicious. It was clean.
Review 8:The location for our purposes was terrific.... Very comfortable room...simple country ambience...the grounds around inn are a work in progress /farmlike and we loved it... Breakfast every day was great!
Review 9:The balcony could use some updating/fresh paint and the closets as well. Bathrooms are a bit dated, but clean and it wouldn't deter us from staying there again. Overall the house and grounds were lovely.
Review 10:Our bed was extremely comfortable with great views. The first floor of the house was decorated and designed very well. Breakfast was wonderful with home baked scones and fresh ingredients from the garden used in the eggs.
Review 11:The separate bathroom, though private and extremely clean, we recommend an outside lock keyed to match the room.
Review 12:The proactive follow up by stac leading up to our stay was awesome! Mimi was the consumate host. We felt like family. The grounds are charming and he house was so warm and functionally appointed. The room was cozy and warm and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and the spot of wine in the room delightful. Location was ideal and the recommend for dinner was perfect. We will definitely be back!!
Review 13:Great location, very responsive host. Very good breakfast. Only recommendation is to bring earplugs, which we always travel with, can hear traffic on Rt 29 from the room facing the highway.
Review 14:Three bedrooms upstairs, only one with a bathroom in room. Two other bathrooms were located in hallway near two bedrooms. Windows needed better window coverings to replace plastic shades in our room sparse furniture and lighting. Quaint, and too much light for sleeping beyond dawn.
Review 15:The location was perfect. The public areas were very pleasant. A nice garden in the back growing lovely vegetables. A beautiful vegetable omelet for breakfast, with freshly picked vegetables.
Review 16:Noise from highway. Bedroom didn't have mirror or wastebasket. Only mirror was outside bathroom door in hallway. Bathroom needed place to hang hand towel. Also hooks in bathroom would be nice to hang clothes on while showering.
Review 17:Good location. Very nice farmfresh breakfast.
Review 18:The bathroom was in the hall and down a few steps which was inconvenient. We would have had to pay $50 more to have one in the room. Also no place to hang towels in bathroom.
Review 19:The farmhouse and property are beautiful and very well located. Breakfast was delicious.
Review 20:Host complained about other guests immediately upon us entering. Clearly tired if running B&B. Facility is tired, worn carpets, faded linens, poor bathrooms, plastic plants, pull down blinds with no drapes. Simply no charm left despite potentially good house and location.
Review 21:Didn´t know about wi-fi, although mentioned in Booking.com
Review 22:Location, walking distance from V. Sattui Winery. Beautiful and comfortable residence Delicious breakfast, organic meal
Review 23:Bathroom not in bedroom, door creaked each time we opened it, possibly waking others. Told inn keeper and nothing done. Peeling paint, overgrown landscape, patio deck looked like it was going to fall down. Price seems high compared to others of better quality in the same area.
Review 24:location, location,location
Review 25:We liked it all.
Review 26:Napa farmhouse inn is the first Bed and Breakfast we have ever stayed in. At the time we arrived there, we were greeted by the hostess Mimi and her pet, Chihuahua. Mimi is really into French cooking and interior design. When she isn’t being a hostess, you can find her at her French bakery in San Jose. The house has great natural light from sun up to sun down. One of my favorite things to do was to sit on the designer sofa and take selfies. From the sofa you have a good view of her collection of gardening, cooking and interior design books while sitting in the spacious living room where you have your breakfast in the morning. The house is surrounded by a garden where she grows your gourmet breakfast fruits and vegetables, so every meal is fresh. Every season she has something to harvest. During our stay we liked to wander in her garden both in the morning and afternoon. Our room was warm and cozy, you can tell she dedicated a lot of time in this house, which made you feel like you were at home. Mimi is a great hostess, friendly and helpful, and the best part was we got to try her baked goods with the fresh vegies. They were so delicious! We enjoyed her hospitality, and the stay at her house will bring a life time of memories. Ingrid & Kevin.
Review 27:The quiet setting, 3 acres of garden, fruit trees, birds singing, farmhouse setting with touches of both glamour and whimsy. Hosts Ed and Mimi interesting and attentive. Incredible breakfast straight from the garden and their own bakery.
Review 28:not an updated bathroom; same breakfast everyday; could be cleaner
Review 29:breakfast was good, just not everyday the same meal; bed and bedding were comfy; cute decorating downstairs
Review 30:The private bathroom has to be reached via the corridor which is not very convenient; this is however unavoidable in an old house I guess...
Review 31:Very nice, historical, and friendly place, excellent contact with the owner, very good dinner (from garden to table!) and breakfast. Very nice vegetable garden, large and quiet room with private balcony. Excellent bed.
Review 32:There were cheap roller shades in the bedroom, did not like that, haven't seen those since I was really young. Also there was no full mirror in the bed room or bath room. Just a small vanity mirror.
Review 33:The breakfast was great, but it was pretty much the same every morning. The location was great for shopping. The inn keepers were wonderful as well.
Review 34:Not much we didn't like. The place still needs some fixing up.A little paint here and there. The price point is a little high. But that area is very pricey. We would definitely plan a return trip.
Review 35:We liked Mimi the Inn keeper. She was informative and made you feel very welcome. The bed was very comfortable. The place was quaint with the farmhouse feel, which we Loved.Breakfast was served each morning, we ate at a Big bay window.Quite lovely. The decor is French country Farmhouse with a little restoration hardware .Very nice.
Review 36:Not child friendly is an understatement. We have cancelled the second night because the Inn Keeper had requested at least 20 times to monitor our 3 year old at all times. We got it after the second time she said it - no need to go on about it. She also asked our Nanny to call her because she is looking for someone to clean the Inn! That is no joke! Our nanny is a wonderful, loving Mexican lady, with a full time day job. Racism at it's best. We could not possibly stay there another minute...
Review 37:vegetable garden and decor
Review 38:I'm not a B+B guy. So if the place was filled I probably wouldn't have liked it.
Review 39:I was the only guest so I had the massive place to myself. Mimi provided a great little continental at my room door every day. I had the option of a big cooked breakfast but didn't need that.
Review 40:the owner never greeted any of us or introduced herself, never told of any amenities( of which tere were none. B&B's usually have cheese and wine hour, none. Poor quality shampoos etc, no lotions. Couldn't plug in phone as electrical outlets so old , the cords fell out of the wall No newspapers to read at breakfast. No formal checkout "just leave the key"
Review 41:Well located if difficult to find. Beautiful house and gardens Decent breakfast
Review 42:Nothing. All four travelers had no complaints.
Review 43:The property was gorgeous and such a perfect location to stop by multiple wineries! Mimi the owner was so sweet and hospitable. We were drinking wine in the garden and she came by with fresh picked figs and fresh mint for our water. The breakfast pastries and melons from the garden were delicious. We were departing early in the AM and Mimi gave us "to go" coffee and a bag of pastries for our drive. We cannot wait to stay again in the future.
Review 44:We loved everything. The warm greeting as we entered, the hospitality, the fun engagement with the other guests, the food, the house was absolutely beautiful. We had a very comfortable room. I will return and tell my friends. The organic garden was amazing. Ed's breakfast was beyond delicious. We inquired about a romantic lily placed in our room, both Ed and Mimi returned our message and shared information about the lily beyond our expectations! We just loved our stay!!!
Review 45:Mimi and the pretty dog welcomed us. She prepared nice breakfast by using variety of fresh vegetable from their own garden. There are several nice restaurants with tasty beef and red wine around the inn.
Review 46:Our experience at Napa Farmhouse Inn was wonderful. We stayed in late July 2014. Ed and Mimi were wonderful hosts. Breakfasts were great and fresh from the gardens - which were a lovely view and walk through, each day. There were no extra charges - and the home is beautifully renovated and very comfortable. Location is right in the heart of wine country and near many top notch restaurants. We will be back!!!
Review 47:The location was perfect, just off the main connecting street, Amongst all the best vineyards and restaurants. Very beautiful garden full of blossoming flowers and fruits and vegetables ready to eat. With Big elegant bedrooms, and comfy beds. The owners extremly helpful and informative, plus truly passionate about there surroundings and vineyards.Would reccomend anyone to stay here for a totally relaxing luxorious break from there hectic lives.
Review 48:The water volume to shower was so low that it dribbled and we were unable to take showers. We mentioned this and owner said there might be more water pressure later when fewer people using showers but that was not the case. For the price we paid this was unacceptable.
Review 49:Breakfast was very good. Bed was comfortable.
Review 50:It's a classic B&B, so while our bathroom was private (for our use only) it was not ensuite.
Review 51:Owner was super friendly and made us feel right at home. The room and bed were comfy and the breakfast was great. They even use vegetables they've grown themselves! The location just can't be beat - right on the main road just outside of St. Helena. A fantastic place for the price, highly recommended.
Review 52:Wi-fi signal is not strong throughout the house.
Review 53:Mimi is very focused on your comfort and helpful in providing local sightseeing and restaurant tips. The fruits and vegetables from the organic garden are excellent and make this place unique. The glass of wine waiting upon arrival was a nice touch.
Review 54:The restroom was outside the room
Review 55:I liked the breakfast and the receptionist
Review 56:A more predominant sign would have been helpful.

Review 77:Wonderful breakfast! Better than the expensive dinner we had the night prior and all home grown. Cute gardens in the back of the house to explore.
Review 78:Very convenient place to stay in wine country. Live the property and common areas. Charming.
Review 79:Chef Edward was a gracious host. Preparing wonderful breakfast meals for us each morning.
Review 80:Hot breakfast was very tasty, and had a nice conversation with the innkeeper, Mimi. Can't wait to return next year!
Review 81:the stale bread.
Review 82:the interior design and decor.
Review 83:The wonderful breakfast in the morning. And the comfort of the bed. The staff was over the top friendly.
Review 84:Front of house bedroom very noisy due to highway 20 ft from the B&B.
Review 85:breakfast was fresh and delicious.
Review 86:Everything
Review 87:nothing
Review 88:everything
Review 89:Very accommodating! Loved the fact that breakfast came mostly from the garden. Mimi was a great host!
Review 90:I liked the breakfast, very healthy and good. Cute little Chihuahua there too.
Review 91:Charming. Wonderful innkeeper. Enjoyable surroundings
Review 92:Beautiful location, lovely house, great breakfast.
Review 93:The dead spider in the bathtub; the anemic, ineffective air conditioner; the lack of smoke detector in our room
Review 94:The location; the food; the innkeeper
Review 95:Almost everything. Truly poor facility for the price 333.00 US. Dirty kitchen counter, sink. Weedy yard. Tired hosts although cordial. Food was horrible! Stale quick breads, no deca F coffee. Do NOT recommend. Thanks for asking.
Review 96:View from bedroom
Review 97:Hard to see the sign out front when returning after dark.
Review 98:Cozy clean place right in the heart of the wine country. Easy access to highway. Extensive gardens are always a work in progress. Great views.
Review 99:Needs better entrance signage as it is very easy to pass the B and B , could use front yard landscaping to be more inviting and tailored to the house theme , and could have TVs in the rooms in future.
Review 100:Location,parking , quiet atmosphere, genial host,, breakfast food, home decor and comfortable beds.overall very nice stay!
Review 101:No Wi-Fi in bedroom upstairs. Private bath but was outside room in hallway.
Review 102:Mimi was wonderful. Breakfast was delicious. Décor was lovely. Location was excellent. Bed sooo comfortable.
Review 103:That we had such a short stay.
Review 104:We chose the Farmhouse for its location and were not disappointed, but the best was yet to come: we really enjoyed Mimi's fresh selections from her garden in our fantastic omelettes in the morning along with her tasty home-baked pastries for breakfast...but the warmth of the place was first felt by her sincere welcome including a cheese plate and glass of wine. jim/pam Wisconsin
