Reviews for Guest House Inn
Review 1:They charged more than the room rate on the reservation, but the manager did change it after I brought it to the attention of booking.com. The facilities were run down and the breakfast was poor.
Review 2:The location was excellent. The beds and A/C were both good.
Review 3:Without accusing your staff of anything, I did find it suspicious that on the very day my room charges posted to my credit cart a fraudulent purchase was attempted using that card at walmart.com for over $432. Fortunately, it was caught by Walmart and I suffered no loss or damages. Those room charges were the only time I used that particular credit card that weekend.
Review 4:One caveat. I rated value for the money and facilities low because it was a football weekend in Lubbock and although it is not unreasonable to jack up room rates for special events, the fact that the hotel was not in the least full negates that logic IMHO.
Review 5:Even though we were out of our room all day long, it was never cleaned. We had to go to desk to ask for more toilet paper and for clean towels. The room was not very clean, carpet looks like it had not been vacuumed. I stayed at this same place last year and it was better then. This year it was not good, will not stay there again.
Review 6:The beds were very comfortable.
Review 7:Breakfast was a very minimal and the wi-fi connection was a bit weak where I was in the hotel, making the connection slow.
Review 8:All the staff was really nice.
Review 9:Linens on all sitting areas in lobby. Conversation heard that young resident of lubbock wanted to rent a room for possible numerous different women. I felt unsafe for myself and my vechile
Review 10:Well the bed was comfortable
Review 11:Breakfast area was dirty, no one was maintaining it. Almost nothing left even with no guests in dining area and still two hours left until breakfast was over. Staff folding towels on lobby furniture and leaving them there for several hours.
Review 12:Staff was friendly, room was dated but very clean. Good location.
Review 13:It seems to be an older hotel but it is nice.
Review 14:The pictures on the website were true to the hotel. All the hotels in lubbock double or triple the price during graduation and this place kept their prices low.
Review 15:Breakfast is not fancy but we usually just grab a bowl of cereal and head out so an abundance of options is not a problem for us. Rooms are clean and spacious for a family of 4.
Review 16:Wifi was not reliable on 3rd floor and the entire place is pretty worn out but if you don't need something fancy this is the perfect spot
Review 17:Easy in and out, no parking hassles, great price and the beds are extremely comfortable
Review 18:1st visit to Lubbock so finding the building wasn't easy as it was a little off main streets. Didn't get a chance to use WiFi as it required a username and password and we didn't bother asking
Review 19:Staff friendly on phone and in person. Promptly and smoothly checked in and out.
Review 20:From the hotel- None. Very satisfied. Unfortunately, we were in Lubbock during some really cold icy, snow weather. But, we made the most of it. Hunkered down in a very nice hotel.
Review 21:Staff willingness to assist with our needs
Review 22:Staff needs to be more informative of amenities when guest check in. Guest should not have to ask if covered parking is available to guests, breakfast serving time. Breakfast needs to be restocked daily--not overripe bananas, stale bread, no tea bags or chocolate mix.
Review 23:Very convenient to my doctor and hospital.
Review 24:Housekeeping didnt know the meaning of "please make up room" on the door! Out of 6 nights we stayed, housekeeping only did ONCE. We had to call Front Desk to do so a second time which the lady had to do herself to change the sheets, bath towels and empty the trash!
Review 25:Thought price was a little high, but it was a football weekend, so maybe it is lower on other weekends. The shower was great, but tub drained very slowly.
Review 26:Friendly and helpful staff. Beds very comfortable, spacious room. Convenient location to Tech campus.
Review 27:It was a football weekend and I paid twice the normal rate. The regular rate is about what I would expect for a hotel like this, but $150+ is way too much.
Review 28:The bed was really comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly and very helpful
Review 29:Convenient to Texas Tech, not walking distance. Not a hotel to impress, but beds were comfortable and had a hot shower. Sleep in and have breakfast elsewhere.
Review 30:I need of some updates. We only had one towel in our room when we got there. The phone in our room beeped like it was off the hook even when it was on and didn't work when we tried to call the front office.
Review 31:The bedding we comfortable, though we didn't sleep with the quilt because it was stained, and hotel stains make me nervous (too much tv/movies).
Review 32:The continental breakfast was always gone by the time you got down stairs. Even though it was 8 am.
Review 33:The staff were very professional and courteous. The rooms were nice and clean. The beds were comfortable.
Review 34:If my wife had been with me she'd have walked away. 1. Tried to up charge $75 becase of TT football game 2. Very "not clean" 3. Very run down 4. Worst breakfast . . . I wouldnt eat even free 5. Elevator drops a little at every stop 6. Just slimey staff and clientele
Review 35:Nothing
Review 36:No soap was in the room. I have stayed at this hotel off and on for many years. The management is not maintain the property. Dust covered the hallways.
Review 37:Location was great.
Review 38:Old Kinda outdated No king or queen beds. All rooms have two full beds
Review 39:Cold AC Comfortable beds Quiet Pet Friendly Friendly Staff Hot Showers Ceiling Fans! Good location. Close to TTU
Review 40:breakfast was bad, old building that needs updating, perfumey cleaning supplies that I was allergic to
Review 41:bed was very comfortable, close to hospital, friendly staff
Review 42:Extremely poor housekeeping; front desk help complacent - waited over in before anyone even showed up at bye front desk. If weather permitted, would have left!
Review 43:It is a little on the older side but it is well maintained.
Review 44:We were able to take our two little dogs. The room was clean and very well kept. It did not have any pet odor.
Review 45:I had no problems with my stay.
Review 46:Low relative cost but clearly low end lodging. Close to hospital, sort of surrounded by a neighborhood. Also close to TTU. There is plenty of parking space.
Review 47:It was expensive. If the Overton had had rooms available when I booked, I could have stayed there for almost the same price. The staff is underwhelming. One of the reasons I love coming to Lubbock is the friendly people but the staff at this hotel need a lesson from the general Lubbock population. The folded towels and sheets in the main lobby in the afternoon. A friendly smile and demeanor would have gone a long way in making the price I paid easier to swallow but instead, the folks with no personality behind the counter did little to temper this and other negatives. The continental breakfast was the worst I've ever had at any hotel. No coffee and no attempts by lady to make any more. Warm milk for cereal which was about the only choice other than a few slices of stale toast. No fruit at all. Orange juice machine but OJ came out as slightly discolored water. Towels were very rough and flimsy. Small and very cheap bath soap and shampoo.
Review 48:I liked the location as we were there for Tech move-in weekend for my son. Convenient to campus as well as centrally located to restaurants and stores we frequented over the weekend. The hotel was clean, booking was easy to do online, beds were comfortable with nice quilts and throw pillows on the beds rather than nasty cheap synthetic bedspreads. A//C worked well. The hotel was quiet due to being a few blocks from the main thoroughfares. Flat screen tv was good and I liked how it was mouted high on wall rather than sitting low on dresser-easier to see from bed. Shower worked well. Besides the beds, nothing else was overly nice but comfortable.
Review 49:The room needed some maintenance. broken door on cabinet, light fixtures with no light bulb remote had the numbers and writing rubbed off from ware and could not read the remote for tv.
