Reviews for Islander Bayside Townhomes

Review 1:We arrived close to midnight and were room #125. I take great pride in being able to sleep anywhere, but not here. The rear bedroom was incredibly loud, due to both the traffic and the ac unit that is behind the office. Since we arrived so late, I didn’t realize that the unit was filthy. had we arrived earlier in the day or had actually turned on the lights on the first floor, I wouldn’t have accepted the room. The finish on the furniture in the back bedroom was also damaged, but the chips in the paint were strategically covered by the tv channel guide. All in all, not what you would expect for a room in this price range. The following day we were moved to room 118 which was much better. Even though we liked the location, I doubt that we would stay there again. Very few units have water views.

Review 2:Our townhouse was great for two couples. There was plenty of room for anyone to get away for some quiet alone time, but it was so nice to be in the same place. The beds were great, the full kitchen was just what we wanted and we loved the washer/dryer. The place was clean. Also, the location allowed us to walk to excellent restaurants. Absolutely no complaints.

Review 3:Might consider having the pool open longer hours. 9 AM on weekends is a little late to open the pool area which is the most pleasant location on the property.

Review 4:Although our stay was brief, we were thrilled with the location and condition of the facilities. Everything was perfect!

Review 5:The living room furniture could have been a little more comfortable but we didn't spend much time indoors as there's so many fun things to do.

Review 6:The Islander Bauside is perfectly located to great restaurants and shopping. Our townhouse was very clean and beds were extremely comfortable. We sat by the pool and enjoyed the bayside hammocks after renting kayaks and launching right from our location which was very convenient.

Review 7:I would prefer a better view than parking lot from the terrace/balcony. The pillows are enormous, so if you're used to smaller pillows, a stiff back is guaranteed.

Review 8:The townhouses are spacious and clean (except for the carpet on the 1st floor). Good rates are possible to find. Close to everything.

Review 9:It was quiet. Good for relaxing without kids or with kids. The location was fairly secluded but walking distance to other bar and restaurant locations. The pool is right on the water which was beautiful! The townhouses were clean and beautiful. We would love to come back.

Review 10:Pool area is relatively small and the tranquillity can be spoiled by a rowdy child!

Review 11:Townhouses are clean and well appointed, centrally located to much of Islamorada, we walked to dinner most nights. Views from the outer townhouses are spectacular.

Review 12:There wasn't anything we didn't like about our stay at the Islander Bayside. But, we would have enjoyed a mirror in the bedrooms to make getting ready easier for four adults and a late night dip in the pool.

Review 13:Everything was terrific! This was our 2nd stay at Bayside and we recommend it highly. The staff was very accommodating, our unit was clean and nicely appointed. The bedding was very nice and the kitchen was well-stocked with necessities. We loved having access to the Islander Oceanside, too.

Review 14:Sofas a bit uncomfortable being rattan. At 160 GBP per night it isn't cheap, but still wish we'd stayed an extra night or 2

Review 15:The pool area overlooks the bay. Spent memorable evenings enjoying a beer/wine lay swinging in the hammocks watching sunset whilst our daughter swam in the pool. Just the mosquitos were a pain. the clapper board town houses were well kitted out. Beds were oh so comfy. Air conditioning set to an ideal level. Reception provides extra pool towel and other toiletries on a self service basis 9am-9pm. Lots of natural tiles.

Review 16:Cons- get more comfortable living room furniture. The cushions kept sliding off and they were just uncomfortable, even for a couple with two young kids (ages 4 and 2). The TV reception was terrible for those nights we stayed in. Some of the townhome needed very minor upkeept (some mold on the shout grout, clean next to the washer dryer and not enough lighting in the bedrooms. A ceiling fan with a light would be great. Minor, minor things. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others!

Review 17:Pros- the staff was great, extremely friendly and helpful. The overall condition of the property was clean and cheerful. Inside the townhomes, kitchen was well-stocked, clean and overall a perfect size. We really liked the size of the bathroom and bedrooms.

Review 18:Had a small issue with the bed set up which we had requested, could of been avoided.Changed rooms the next day which was a pain but none the less the place was lovely and didn't spoil our stay

Review 19:What a fantastic place to stay, nice small complex. Very clean and modern. It was quiet when we stayed, pool was quiet and ideal setting to watch the sunset on an evening whilst kids played in the pool.

Review 20:The villa was spacious with nice bedroom arrangements. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, including a washer and dryer. Perfect location for our charter fishing outing. Also close to restaurants. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Will definitely go back!

Review 21:We didn't like having to leave and come home. We were having a great time eating the fish we caught and the key lime pie we bought.

Review 22:Our town home overlooked the marina where we kept our rented boat. It was very convenient. The town home was very comfortable and well maintained.

Review 23:Wish there were more pans in the units. No cookie sheets. Only 4 dishes, 4 forks etc...

Review 24:The units were very clean and pretty! Nice small pool and hammocks.

Review 25:There was a large party that occupied 5 or 6 townhomes during our stay. They were loud at night!

Review 26:The Islander Bayside was clean with comfortable beds and plenty of space to spread out. The pool was nice and great location for watching the sun set!

Review 27:Kitchen utensils are poore-sponge should be available without special request. Also, self-service laundry would be a must on site. (a guest laundry in the main building would be fine)

Review 28:Geeat location, nicely furnished, big apartman. For this visit the wifi worked properly-at this time we were closer to the main building so we could choose from wifi options. The pool is great.

Review 29:Very nice and clean facility, with shared pool and outdoor grill. A real find; and great price for the accommodations. Only one minor drawback -- Booking.com description made it sound like this was a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo when it was actually one full bath upstairs between the 2 bedrooms and 1 downstairs half bath. We were staying with another adult couple so it would have been nice to have 2 full baths, but since we are good friends it was okay for two nights. The bath situation should be clarified as there are some condos with 2 full baths for more money.

Review 30:The privacy and lovely setting. The townhouse was spacious, sound-proofed, and in a quiet, peaceful location. Near enough to walk to fine dining but secluded enough to feel like we were on an island

Review 31:The kitchen was poorly stocked if you want to actually cook any fish you catch.

Review 32:Location was outstanding. The car rarely left the parking space and we watched the sun set every night. The unit was comfortable and clean.

Review 33:Did a lot of driving to Marathon for snorkeling and it is quite a drive to Key West so location for us was not perfect. Wish we had the info on Chica Rocks and Alligator Reef sooner as we did not get a chance to check it out and it is right near the property. Was told that Robbie's has excursions to both on their 'Happy Cat' boat.

Review 34:Facilities were well kept and clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. If anyone is a snorkeler, would recommend going to Robbie's and renting a Kayak to go to Indian Key about a half mile out. Robbie's gave us the info on were to snorkel and it was awesome as promised.

Review 35:Was a bit unclear on its relation to its big brother Islander resort. This is my in the resort itself but you can use all the facilities the resort itself offers.

Review 36:had the pool all for myself for almost an entire day! Very quiet spot after a busy 4 days in Key West.

Review 37:No house keeping except when you request for it and you have to pay extra for it. Place looked very worn. Master bed room was small. Couldn't open my suitcase all the way open.

Review 38:Location was convienant to everything.

Review 39:No bedside lamps in bedrooms; switch of the ceiling fan is hard to reach; only one zone of the air conditioner (for 2 bedrooms and the living room)

Review 40:Beach garden view

Review 41:Upgrade lounges at pool and perhaps on balconies. Seating in living room was uncomfortable for 4 adults.

Review 42:Beautiful location and quiet property. Within walking distance of restaurants, stores, resorts. Nice kayaking.

Review 43:Ran into parking problems at our location once or twice and the kitchen was very poorly stocked (plates, utensils, etc.).

Review 44:Plenty to do on the area and access to the second resort was a big plus.

Review 45:When we checked into our room at the Islander Bayside, I immediately noticed that the bathroom did not have double sinks as was pictured on the booking.com website. When I went to the front desk to inquire about this, the front desk clerk told me that the room which is pictured on the website is the handicap accessible room, and there is only one of those on property. She seemed surprised by this, and even thought it was "hilarious". I replied that I did not find it hilarious, but felt like I was paying a premium dollar for a room that was smaller than advertised. Beware. Additionally, there was a very large cockroach in our room that we had to dispose of and the rooms overall needed a bit of a sprucing up.

Review 46:It was nice that we had access to the facilities at the Islander resort, which is about a half-mile away and on the ocean side. That resort has a nice beach and pool.

Review 47:We were told upon check-in there was an issue with the wifi. A lot of birds hang out in the pool, which might have detered me from swimiming it if it was warmer. Not sure how you can prevent that.

Review 48:This is the second time we have stayed here. The townhomes closest to the water have the best view, and are quieter than being by the road. The townhomes are clean and nicely decorated. The staff is extremely sweet and helpful. The view is serene and relaxing. You can easily walk to restaurants, bars, and stores. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Review 49:Spotty internet service that couldn't be used on the second floor, old pool chairs, cold pool, no DVD player. Grocery store was a long way away.

Review 50:Very spacious, clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Loved the hammocks by the pool and having access to the ocean side resort. Great to have a blender in the kitchen. Nice restaurants within walking distance.

Review 51:The negatives are the townhouses are located very close to the highway - heard fairly heavy traffic at all hours. The garbage truck came at 5:30 AM every other morning and it seemed like the garbage truck was inside the room. The Wi-Fi was terrible - very rarely had access to a stable connection. The cable TV had poor reception and very few channels.

Review 52:The townhouses are fairly new - @ 4 years old. The interiors are stylish and appear to be well maintained. I liked that it was a small property with parking right outside the townhouse. Enjoyed the beach and pool area at the Islander resort.

Review 53:The loung chairs at the pool need to be replaced. You actually sit on the metal.

Review 54:Location makes it easy to walk to a lot of things. Also liked being able to use the "other" facilities.

Review 55:priced for 2 couples but only 1.5 baths, pool is not heated, no hot tub, ceiling fans are too much in cooler weather no low speed, all rooms have water view but not many with sunset view.

Review 56:clean & comfortable

Review 57:The place had a strange odor and smelled of charcoal and the previous guest had left shrimp shells in the garbage disposal which left a terrible smell. Surprised staff did not offer some compensation. Otherwise would recommend this place and enjoyed the facilities.

Review 58:Liked the Guy Harvey theme and the ability to use the amenities at the location on the oceanside.

Review 59:Could maybe do with CD and DVD player for nights in. Lounge seating could be a bit more comfortable for long stays to be more like home from home.

Review 60:It is a lovely setting. Peaceful and everything you could need for a trip to the Keys. Great location with couple of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Knowing what we know now when we visit the Keys again we will base ourselves here and visit other locations during that time.

Review 61:Lighting in bedroom can only be described as poor. Self catering apartments with no pans?? Do all Americans travel with a full set of cookware?? Extra price for servicing!!

Review 62:Very clean comfortable apartment type accommodation. Staff very helpful. Views across the bay with the sunsets and birdlife. Good layout inside with very good beds and bathrooms. Wifi Excellent

Review 63:I dont know why I missed the fact from online booking, that the Townhouses were not at the main property which is oceanside with man made beach, heated pools, hot tub, bar, restaurant etc. It was inconvenient to drive back to the main property to enjoy these facilities. I'm reasoning that because we were a party of 3 adults, our forks, spoons, glasses, mugs were reduced to 3. Knives , plates, bowls counted 4 each. Thought this was very miserly!! Especially when the unit is described as accommodating 4 persons. The unit is showing some age and use. All white trim is tired and needs repainting. the dark intense colours of Guy Harvey requires some touch ups as cleaning products have stripped away the colour. The rug outside the washing machine closet has been marked with bleach product. Perhaps this area needs to be tiled instead of broadloom.also bleach areas at bottom of stairs near front door. These are all minor points but it represents to the renter that the landlord is willing to accept these faults and subsequently perhaps the renter doesnt need to be so vigilant in their care of the unit..... Wifi was spotty at best. Altho connected it would read access denied.

Review 64:Bed, linens, pillows, towels were excellent quality. Air conditioning worked well.

Review 65:The cable TV was circa 1980. Based on how nice the unit was and the HD televisions throughout the unit, I was expecting a high def input. However, all channels were analog ( not even digital).

Review 66:Loved the hammocks by the pool. Perfect for relaxing after a day of scuba diving.

Review 67:Unreliable wireless access; not very comfortable living room furniture; poor tv picture quality and limited channels

Review 68:Close proximity to restaurants, stores, and beaches; well-equipped kitchen; spaciousness and design of the villa as a whole; very helpful and accommodating front desk staff; picturesque beach area

Review 69:the pool is unheated...a minus because it is in such a beautiful location that we would prefer to stay here... plus: they do offer complimentary use of 2 other heated pools at second location a few minutes drive away....

Review 70:we really liked the townhouse.. well equipped. good location. even the washing detergent provided. well setup...

Review 71:The only thing I didn't care for was the bump in the parking lot...it was very noisy and right next to our unit.

Review 72:The grounds were beautiful, the pool and beach were adequate. I really liked the location as it was close to many shops and restaurants.

Review 73:The facility is wonderful no problems

Review 74:The facility was clean and very welcoming. I asked the 2 people I met in the office several questtions, directions, places to eat, and if we could have a little later check out and found both of them to be excellent. They deserve to be thanked

Review 75:Only one car allowed to park in lot and cleaning charges.

Review 76:Excellent bay view from terraces of front units. Really well-maintained interiors: clean, modern kitchen and bathrooms, fresh carpets, cheerful paint colors and tropical art on the walls.

Review 77:Living room was poor at best. Furniture was uncomfortable and TV was hard to view from seats and love sofa.

Review 78:Beds and Kitchen were great, bathroom good

Review 79:Islander Bayside will be a repeat affair--you cannot beat the location, the available boat slips, and the general ambiance--very peaceful (and the townhomes are beautifully appointed). Without question, I will be back!! Thank you!

Review 80:The stair rail had 3or 4 post that where loose and hanging over. I fixed them back and forgot about it. We were there for a wedding and didn't think about it again. I got a call that they are going to charge me $150 to repair them. I know u should have reported them broke when we first got there and notice them hanging loose, but we were so focused on the wedding that I didn't think of it again. I don't think it will cost $150 to fix them.

Review 81:I liked everything about it!

Review 82:The only thing I didn't like was the furnishings in the living room. The modern chairs and loveseat lacked comfort and the lighting was poor throughout the space. While there was adequate light, it was not inviting and cozy. Difficult to really get comfortable and relaxed.

Review 83:Beautiful waterfront area Quaint Clean rooms Updated furnishings Convenient to restaurants

Review 84:Nothing

Review 85:Full kitchen, 2 bedrooms with comfortable king beds and TVs on upper level. Boat slips and pool. Optional use of other property with beach/big pool one mile away. Great price for 2 couples to split $$.

Review 86:Our trip was ruined by the weather. It was too rainy, windy, and cloudy for us to use the pool or other outdoor activities. But we did wander the property and it was very nice and well maintained. The only complaint about the property is about the lighting in the bathrooms; very poor, and the dark paint didn't help any.

Review 87:The walls were dirty, nails sticking out where a picture used to be, the paint was chipping on the walls and there was a roach in the bathroom.

Review 88:Good location.

Review 89:Small pool & beach at Islander Bayside but no problem given the access to the pools/beaches of Islander Resort at less than 1 mile

Review 90:Access to the beach and pools of Islander Resort Quality of the houses

Review 91:The upstairs shower was very grimy. My friend wore shower shoes. I showered downstairs, that bathroom was lovely.

Review 92:The view is great, good location. Room is beautiful. Front desk personnel great.

Review 93:I wish a one bedroom suite had been available. If we wee staying with another couple we would have preferred to have two full baths.

Review 94:I loved that the upper balcony allowed us a water view and had 2 chairs and a table at which to enjoy an evening drink. The kitchen was well supplied with paper towels, dishwasher detergent, dish towels and cloths. The sound proofing was great and even though we were close to the highway we didn't hear anything over night.

Review 95:The chairs at the pool were very uncomfortable and should be replaced with better chairs, like the ones at the small beach; The pool should be heated, like at the Resort.

Review 96:This was our first visit to Islamorada and won't be our last. The Islander Bayside was exactly what we were looking for on our vacation: comfortable bed with all the amenities of a home away from home. It was so quiet, too. We also liked the perk of visitng the sister resort and using their pool and beach during our stay. We loved our stay here and will definitely be back again!

Review 97:Two bedroom and a big living room, TV in each room, very nice kitchen with necessary equipment, nice view from the pool and beach area , quiet place, nice balcony

Review 98:Although the property states it is pet friendly, they make you sign a pet policy agreement which states that you cannot leave your pet unattended in the room. After discussion with the desk clerk I was told it was OK to leave the pet unattended unless the dog barked or disturbed other visitors.

Review 99:Facilities in the individual units were excellent. Very comfortable beds. Excellent wifi connection - even at the pool.

Review 100:For the price coffee and at least a continental breakfast available inthe office each morning. Also the kayaks should have been available forthe price as well. A large group came in on Thursday evening and partiedlate into the morning hours Friday Saturday & Sunday. Veryinconsiderate of others. Also monopolized the pool those nights withloud music!

Review 101:Nice facilities, units well furnished, great pool, bbq area and beach!

Review 102:Parking was a challenge the last night. too many cars and no where to park. Need a system to manage the limited parking spaces and/or find an option for overflow parking.

Review 103:Excellent accomodations - clean, exquisite view, courteous staff, great amenitites, great location!

Review 104:- no drinks or snacks facilities - pool was taken by two families partying so unable to use

Review 105:- the cottage was very good - beautiful spot on the island

Review 106:Colorful buildings greet you as you turn in to the ample parking in this uniquely shaped parking lot. Each unit has great space with laundry facilities included, which are truly appreciated at the beach! It also has a private marina and swimming pool for your enjoyment. Wi-fi was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again!!!

Review 107:Downstairs furniture consisted of 2 dining chairs and a broken sofa for watching tv in the living area. Website did not accurately depict the property. It was very noisy, from highway traffic to their own landscaping crews. There are many more resorts that offer much more than this one and at comparable prices. Would not stay again

Review 108:Nothing actually

Review 109:Most of the entertainment activities were at the "Sister Property," a mile or so down the road. I would stay there next time.

Review 110:Secluded yet close to activities, good restaurants, felt safe, quiet.

Review 111:Receptionist threatened to tow away car for a minor parking infringement on the morning we were due to leave after 3 days instead of politely pointing out our error on the first day, No safe crossing point across busy interstate one making crossing the road a risk to life

Review 112:Beautiful tropical setting Large well lit, airy rooms and cottages Quality of restaurants near by Swimming pool and marina Wifi

Review 113:We cooked, and were glad we brought a few choice knives and pots with us. Cooking stuff was pretty sparse. A salad bowl would have been good to have.

Review 114:We all really enjoyed the location and the newer facilities of this place. The unit was modern and spacious with comfort. View from the pool is panoramic with fantastic sunsets and a nice gas grill for cooking out. Really liked having 1.5 bathrooms for 4 people rather than just one. Units were quiet, never heard the neighbors.

Review 115:There are not a lot of amenties at the Bayside, for that you had to go to the main Islander Resort. Staff at the Islander were not friendly. The bartender at the Islander was horrific and would make me think twice about going back. She was insulting, rude and very unprofessional. The other staff we encountered were not much better but she was the worst.

Review 116:The front desk staff at Bayside was excellent! She was so very accommodating and did everything in her power to make our stay perfect! I really wich I remembered her name. The townhomes were spacious and had everything we needed. Overall it was a great stay!

Review 117:Trying to get out onto A!A, but that is not the fault of the Islander Bayside.

Review 118:This was perfect for us and two friends. We had a townhouse that everything in it, comfortable beds, kitchen, 2 baths, flat screen TV's. Close to everything, restaurants, bars, beaches. This his the BEST spot in Islamorada. Price was really great also.

Review 119:The staff is super friendly, the place is beautiful and nicely decorated. We used both resorts- the Islander bayside and the bay view. We had a wonderful time!! Will come back often, very happy.

Review 120:Nothing!

Review 121:Lovely place with all home comforts in such a wonderful location. Sunset on the hammocks - what beautiful views and so tranquil. However for more activity the sister hotel offers kid friendly activities, water sports etc just up the road. Best of all worlds!

Review 122:Except when the fire alarms went off at 8 a.m and took some time to get them turned off, though the alarm went off because someone in another unit was cooking , then I was cooking breakfast and it went off again. Maybe the property needs a stringer vent over the stove. It kind of deterred me from using the kitchen to cook.

Review 123:What a great place to stay, the views from our balcony was more than we expected. Went on a kayak ride to the mangroves, David brought the kayak over from the Islander, great customer service on his part. Went on a day trip to Key West, enjoyed a couple restaurants that were walking distance. Great vacation. We recommend this property. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Review 124:Breakfast not provided on site - although had a very good breakfast at sister property

Review 125:Large fully equipped villa with kitchen and laundry facilities. Lovely swimming pool and amazing views of the Gulf from villa terrace and pool. Excellent evening meal by the beach at sister property one mile away.

Review 126:The lady that checked us in was in such a hurry to leave for the evening that she was very short with us.

Review 127:The town homes were clean and well furnished. There were plenty of beach towels available. We had a scorpion in our bathroom and the staff came right away to take care of it.

Review 128:We had a smokey smell on the first floor of the unit. The staff offered to move us, but we had already unpacked. The used an ionizer to get rid of it. The maintenance crew forgot about it and we were locked out of our unit for about 30 minutes until they came back.

Review 129:Great location and plenty of space for a family.

Review 130:We booked a deluxe villa and the pictures of this type of property shown on booking.com seem to be of the superior type villa. During our stay we had quite a few big ants inside our villa.

Review 131:We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights at the start of our holiday. It is a wonderful place and the houses look really cute. If we return again I would pay the extra for the superior properties so we have an even nicer view. It defintely stands out in comparison to the Islander Resort. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We went for breakfast every morning to Bob's Bunz, a great place just a quarter of a mile down from the hotel.

Review 132:Whilst the kitchen was well fitted with appliances, it was very basic on cutlery, crockery and actual cooking facilities. Not a major problem, just eat out. Shame other guest have to play music on porch, or bring it down to pool area. Go party on public beeches.

Review 133:Everything the development had to offer

Review 134:Didn't like getting kicked off the hammocks at 10:30 on a Friday night because the pool area closed at 10:00. Thought the hours should be a little later on the weekend especially when you can sit and hear music coming from the restaurant down the road. It was so relaxing to just sit by the water that it was a little annoying to be abruptly asked.

Review 135:All and all had a great experience. It's the second year we've stayed there. Will definitely go back.

Review 136:WiFi was iffy at best when inside the townhouse.

Review 137:Location and amenities were amazing! All staff were helpful and it was quiet. Beautiful sunsets right off the pool deck!

Review 138:Parking was limited

Review 139:We took a 7 day family vacation with our 3 young kids and everything about Islander Bayside was excellent! We stayed in Townhouse #13 with the best view ever. The townhouse was very clean and spacious. Most importantly the townhouse had a full kitchen, washer and dryer...how awesome ;-) The kids enjoyed the pool during the day. My husband and I enjoyed the ambience of the pool at sunset. The hotel staff would light torches around the pool that made it so romantic. I highly recommend Islander Bayside!
