Reviews for Cape Codder Resort & Spa

Review 1:how the room decor was so dated and that the hotel layout was a bit confusing.

Review 2:i liked that it had a indoor water park and excellent staff. as well as 2 restuarants game room and catered to families with activities available.

Review 3:Of course no one likes construction but we will all benefit from the new water park in 2016.

Review 4:We enjoyed all the activities offered and the heated outside pool was a big hit.

Review 5:N/A

Review 6:Easy access to everything., Fun for all ages. Hearth and Kettle, reasonable prices, great service, good food. Clean. Just an overall good time.

Review 7:We were put out back in the construction zone. Very loud banging started at 9 am. I was in desperate need of sleep after working very late. The front desk said, " I don't know what to tell you you're in the construction area." There was lots of vacancy in this hotel so there was no need to put us in the back right next to the construction.

Review 8:I've always loved the warmth and well-appointed rooms of the Cape Codder. With restaurants and bar on premises, the convenience is great. The outside pool is fabulous at night.

Review 9:Joe went the extra mile (about 3,000 actually!) to mail me a phone charger like the one I thought I had inadvertently left behind in our room. Halloween decorations were entertaining! Loved your water activities.

Review 10:Didn't have a bad experience but thought the on site restaurant, Hearth and Kettle, could be improved on. Expected better ambiance at a resort restaurant.

Review 11:Loved the room. The Cru wine bar was nice and enjoyed the live music on the patio.

Review 12:Weather not great so couldn't use pool. Patio door didn't lock so was repaired but then we couldn't open it and sun was out the following day! Ate in the Cru restaurant both nights of our stay. Service first night exceptional - 2nd night busier as live music. Had to go to the bar and ask for food service. When main finished requested dessert menu only to be told kitchen was closed. Really bad service as server should have asked if we wanted anything else as kitchen was closing. Unfortunately due to this I gave a very poor tip. Believe in giving maximum tips but not when service is so poor. Suggest staff training is needed.

Review 13:Loved the atmosphere. Ate in the Cru restaurant and food tremendous. The resort is lovely. Amazing big rooms.

Review 14:The pools, although it would be nice to be allowed to swim on the day of departure as well. You could allow people to use the pool after checkout until 2:00 or so. People could swim, eat lunch and then go home

Review 15:It is old, small and geared toward young children. It is also further from the ocean than I thouht. I was also surprised that a family oriented resort does not have washer and dryer on site.

Review 16:Both bath and pool towels are too small. New menu options at Hearth and Kwttle

Review 17:We love all the kids activities. Hope they stay through and after the construction! lee in the gift shop is great!

Review 18:Hearth & kettle needs to up its game all around. We missed our own beds

Review 19:All of the things to do. We stayed there several times when the children were young and the property has only gotten better

Review 20:We had really hoped for a late check out. We ran in the Falmouth Road Race, which caused us to leave the hotel at 6:30 AM. We were told that a manager needed to be contacted to okay late check out. No manager was available until 7AM.

Review 21:The onsite restaurant, Hearth & Kettle, was very very disappointing. Service was horrible, the waiter spilled water all over me. Food was mediocre at best. Kinda put a damper on the trip.

Review 22:Facility was beautiful, spa was a wonderful experience as well as both of the pools. Would definetly visit again.

Review 23:Nothing to do with the resort, but cookes was somewhat of a disappointment.

Review 24:Hearth and kettle was a highlight of our trip. We looked forward to dining there for almost all of our meals.

Review 25:It was highly overpriced and for $300.00 a night the least I could ask for was a fridge that didn't leak and a microwave. Not to mention the spa and resturant were highly overpriced.

Review 26:The indoor pool.

Review 27:I would have expected more in the actual room I stayed in considering the high taste in common areas. Not a luxury hotel.

Review 28:The convenience factor since my sister was getting married there was key for me. Having restaurant choices within the actual hotel was nice as well.

Review 29:We didn't have any complaints.

Review 30:It was nice and clean and many activities planned at the hotel unfortunately we didn't participate in the extra things. Went out for dinner at a near by restaurant and watched a movie in the room also ate breakfast out some where else.

Review 31:Was told free breakfast with room. It was discount off lunch at Hearth and Kettle. We were not at facility during day. No screen on sliding door to deck.

Review 32:3 restaurants. Deck restaurant with music. Fire pit and roasting Marshmallows. Room was clean.

Review 33:Was expecting the location to be a bit off the main road to give it more of a "spa resort" vibe.

Review 34:Rooms were spacious and clean. The outdoor areas (multiple pools, sitting area, bar) were great - loved the vibe & atmosphere.

Review 35:could not get wifi working

Review 36:wave pool/outdoor pool comfortable beds hotel layout hotel and restaurant service children s' activities evening band evening firepit

Review 37:The smell of the room, the darkness of the room, the dampness of the room, the teeny tiny bathroom, the toilet seat that didn't fit the toilet.

Review 38:The waterpark

Review 39:We are used to traveling with breakfast included, so that would have been nice to have, but we understand that not all places offer this, so it wasn't a big deal really. We did get a one-time voucher for $10 off in the attached restaurant, so that was nice.

Review 40:The atmosphere of a contained resort with activities for kids, both younger and older, was great.

Review 41:The toilet flush did not work. The room carpets where ugly and torndown. The swimming pool was dark and dinge. The place looked like a total rundown.

Review 42:Nothing much to like!

Review 43:I wasn't happy to find out or felt that when you book through a 3rd party such as booking.com, that you are not given the same attention as when you book directly. .. I truly feel that was the deciding factor as to the room location facing the parking lot and main drag ... also the fire alarm went off at 2 am and again 4 am ... at 2 am the entire building of guests had to remain outside for more than 30 minutes ....

Review 44:There was a mixup in the changes in the booking , we were upgraded, the new room had a small issue with damp smell and the general manager personally came to the room to inquire. This was impressive!

Review 45:The menu at Hearth and Kettle-it got less interesting. Didn't even use $40 food vouchers. The rooms need a lil more beach theme.

Review 46:All the kids activities! Love the Reptile show and the crafts. The pools are great! Love Lee in the gift shop-always helpful!

Review 47:No elevators! Lack of information! For those of us with arthritis or need to avoid stairs, it would be helpful to explain on the website that there are no elevators. I recently had back and knee surgery with a room on the second floor - thinking there was an elevator somewhere. It was terribly hard for me to go up and down the stairs. Wifi was disappointing with weak signal. So many uses that caused it to crawl to open emails. A secure password given to guest only may help in outside of property users being lowered and WiFi performance improving. Also, seeing a few spiders and black bug crawling across the carpet was disturbing to see in a well kept resort.

Review 48:Both pools were great; heart n kettle was wonderland ecspecially with young children- great wait staff; check- in was very good and very informative. Grounds were well kept, colorful and nice accents.

Review 49:Restaurant service was very slow for the one diner and breakfast we had at the hotel. However, the wait staff were very polite.

Review 50:Close to shopping, restaurants and to attractions.

Review 51:stayed in room 137...bathroom had a very noisy fan that was continuously running. It did not have an on/off switch.Noisy to sleep with!

Review 52:restaurant on site location cleanliness

Review 53:During our stay, which was during the week, there was a lot of maintenance being conducted. This took away from the hotel's ambiance. Had to walk over wires and tools in the hallway to get to the pool. Also no elevator in the section we were staying in and we had a lot of heavy luggage. We did get assistance from the bell hop, but did not know there wasn't an elevator.

Review 54:Wave pool and water slides were fun, even for a bunch of women in their 50's. Beds were extremely comfortable. Rooms were clean. Staff was very nice.

Review 55:On our 2nd night there I had to call the front desk for security because of the sceaming coming from 2 doors down. A couple were fighting with a child screaming i'm scared at 10:30 pm.outside parking area's were dirty"alot of trash" . Outside pool was closed on second day there so we had to use the indoor jacuzzi . To our disappointment the jets were not working well. There were 4 sets of adults with us and I think we were all unsatisfied.

Review 56:GOOD LOCATION

Review 57:The booking system needs some care. We booked a loft suite which got cancelled and although we did eventually get the room we wanted it was then right next to a generator and the tap on the bedroom Jacuzzi dripped all night. The plumbing needs serious attention as the water and Jacuzzi noise from the next room in the middle of the night was unbearable.

Review 58:Close to Hyannis port and the islands. The Hearth & Kettle restaurant is great.

Review 59:45 minutes of trying to get the key to work upon arrival. Clerk had to make three different cards before they worked. Required us to walk back and forth from the room each time the key failed to work. Arrived one week prior to season opening. Gym closed for maintenance, indoor pool closed for maintenance. $4:00 am wake up call on Friday. False Fire Alarm. Could at least gave us a free coffee at breakfast

Review 60:Cleanliness, outdoor whirlpool, bar staff, restaurant staff, the yard, small patio off room, wood fire at night, courtyard with sunning areas plenty of greenery,

Review 61:Very thin walls / teenagers running throughout halls all hours : manager compensated me but I feel that security should be halls more. Would not stay for a business trip only for fun w kids.

Review 62:great place to stay w kids as they have a nice wave pool / slides to keep kids happy.

Review 63:there were too many kids out of control. Didn't seem to be any parental supervision amongst many of the kids. Pool area was overrun& dirty.

Review 64:Location

Review 65:I would have loved to know that i need to bring my own Marshmallows for the Bonfire.

Review 66:We liked that the resort was clean and family friendly. the resort had kid friendly daily activities, so much to do with very little time. my kids loved the the indoor wave pool their highlight. Robert clarke the Magician was great. They wanted to stay another night. We will return for more nights. thanks

Review 67:Head board in our room banged against wall that was sure to bother the neighbor. It is an old place, is dark and walls and floors are thin and noisy. It is fairly large and spread out. Pool is small but patio large.

Review 68:Good for family with kids and Hearth & Kettle is right there and game room. Our kids at grown but would have loved it. At our age we are accustomed to finer hotels and Rarely stay in motel.

Review 69:"Fireplace" in room had to be lit with fuel cells. Like sterno. Not what I expected when I paid extra for a room with a fireplace.

Review 70:Comfortable room, free wifi, restaurant on site.

Review 71:There was no hot water for a day the gym never had towels the water cooler in the gym was loaded with green slime in the overflow cup because no one ever cleaned up in the gym the same trash was there for two days and never monitored with kids running in and out and I also had kids running up and down the halls knocking on doors without hotel security keeping any control. The Spa mixed up my apt and the spa charges were completely different from a week earlier and when I asked about a cost sheet they didn't have one they claimed it was different for each client. All in all a very bad experience.

Review 72:The indoor water park could have been slightly warmer especially the water.

Review 73:The kids loved the indoor water park and the outdoor heated pool. We all enjoyed the outdoor hot tub in the middle of winter.

Review 74:The wave pool was pretty cold for a heated pool. The room was in need of an update. Pealing wall paper, curtains had very heavy out dated draped valances.

Review 75:Loved the activities they have for the kids very kid friendly. Pool, movies, dance party, marshmallows. Beds were comfortable and room was clean.

Review 76:I wish the room temperature where the wave pool is was a bit warmer. Also they should give you a list of all the activities available when you check in. We didn't find out about the movie room and the arcade room near the front desk until the morning we were supposed to check out.

Review 77:This is one of the only places I stay in the Cape. Love the wave pool, water slides and the outdoor pool. They have 2 arcade rooms and a movie room. The staff are very nice.

Review 78:The only thing that could use a little improvement is the bed, too soft for my taste, but everything else made up for that.

Review 79:For the amount of money that I paid I didn't expect much, although the website showed a beautiful venue I still had my doubts. However when I arrived, it was everything that they showed and more. Loved it, next time I'll bring my son he would love the wave pool. Nothing but good things, and I'm not easy to please, I'm always ready to criticize.

Review 80:The deal through booking.com did not include meals which made the entire stay quite expensive

Review 81:The comfortable room The beds Very clean The gardens around are beautiful! The staff is super friendly The food & the service at the restaurant were excellent

Review 82:The first day requested a blanket and received it the next day instead of the day requested. Had to wait an extra 15 minutes for someone to come unlock door for the hot tub and out door pool. The wave pool not open during the time it said. No screen on sliding door. Everything else was great.

Review 83:The room, cleanliness, quiet, loved hot tub and outside pool, the Hearth Resturant. Was happy to see a tub mat so not to slip in shower. A beautiful place place to stay.

Review 84:The place needs serios up date, dirty .the walls and doors are so dirty. The wall paper pilling of the walls, mold in the rooms, dirty carpets. The gym....its a joke none of the equipment is working ,dusty and broken, outside pool had slippery steps, unsafe!

Review 85:The location

Review 86:The live music outside our room two nights in a row that made our room vibrate, and having to call the front desk to have the pool opened for swimming. Also the restaurant (Hearth & Kettle) was expensive and the food was average and unimpressive - the service in the restaurant was really good though.

Review 87:Helpful, accommodating staff, the pool was a blast, the grounds were beautiful.

Review 88:Pool was dirty... full of sand & floating bugs. Lifeguard made no effort to clean. No elevator so I had to carry my luggage up the stairs. Not too much of a problem for me but could be for others especially families with lots of luggage. With check-in at 3 & check-out at 11 it would be nice if they allowed you to use the pool before check-in & after check-out.

Review 89:Lobby was beautiful. Staff was friendly. Easy access to restaurants & retail shopping. Easy checkout.

Review 90:The pillows could use updating and some of the hallways.

Review 91:Always love the salt water pool and the spa was very nice ! The entry was chandelier is beautiful.

Review 92:Step to pool were green. Pool was cloudy. Expensive The fire pit wasn't kept going. We had to ask the lifeguard to call for more wood.

Review 93:Grandchildren enjoyed the water park. Access to food.

Review 94:I did not like the condition of the room it was old and needed updating. Also the air conditioning unit was very very loud which produced poor sleep for us.

Review 95:My favorite part was the pool areas.

Review 96:I didn't like having to leave and my 4 yr old was strongly opposed as well.

Review 97:What an amazing trip...perfect spot for a family with young ones. Activities, education, and close to everything. We will definitely be back...

Review 98:The staff was friendly, knowledgable and polite. Management was helpful. We didn't have hot water for a short period of time one afternoon and management discounted one night's stay by 50%. The restaurant and bar staffs were friendly and professional. We had a great stay at the Cape Codder Resort.

Review 99:Pillows not great, hearth and kettle needs to be cleaned a little better no bar by pool no waitress by the pool

Review 100:Pool was great, room was comfortable, staff very accommodating and friendly bartender Emily was great

Review 101:Overall, it was a great experience, however, we felt for the room we stayed in, the rates were a bit pricey. Also, an $8.00 charge for room service breakfast, plus the cost of the meals...The most expensive breakfast I have ever had, hands down. For the money we spent on just a ho-hum room, we felt that was pretty steep...$80.00 for a breakfast for 2?

Review 102:We loved that there was enough to do inside the resort so, once we parked our vehicle, we didn't have to leave. The staff was great and very friendly. We enjoyed the musical entertainment in the Grand Cru bar -The bartender, Kelly, was fantastic! We used a gift certificate for a couples massage and the two masseuses were very professional, and talented! We will definitely be returning!

Review 103:Ran out of hot water, cold shower. No screen door on slider door. Room service left off an item. Booking.com showed extra room avail but front desk said no vacancy! Had to check out.

Review 104:Wave pool,activities , Resturant , location

Review 105:Rooms needed updating and more attn to cleaning details. Caulking in bathroom, carpet stains, and could hear conversations from other rooms in the bathroom loud and clear

Review 106:Can't really say there was anything in particular that we didn't like

Review 107:Loved all the activities for kids Bed was very comfortable rooms very clean and comfortable staff was very friendly and helpful housekeeping was very good and the kids loved the way the housekeepers paid extra attention to their stuffed animals.

Review 108:There were fruit flies in the room! Called for housekeeping who came the next morning when we were checking out. Bathroom too small-rust apparent around toilet-inadequate lighting-peeling wallpaper-old & tired room....

Review 109:location on courtyard

Review 110:Outdoor pool area felt crowded Concrete patio area outside wave pool could do with some improved paving, landscaping, more chairs and tables. Didn't feel like a resort.

Review 111:All the kid friendly activities

Review 112:The pool was too small to accommodate all of the hotel guests and there was a lack of chairs to sit in unless you went as soon as the pool opened for the day, the rooms shown on the website do not come close to the old, dark and dingy room I stayed in, the rooms need major updating, the shower faucet leaked, there is a lack of outlets to plug in cell phones /electronics, the room faced the ugly parking lot, housekeeping had to be called to clean the room in the late afternoon and there were ants in my room! I've stayed at many resorts in my lifetime which were 4-5 star hotels. The Cape Codder lacks so much that it should be called a "Motel".

Review 113:The lobby and the courtyard were appealing as shown on their website. It was all downhill from that point.

Review 114:The staff especially the front desk help and the life guards. The hallways had a mold smell and room was not cleaned very well each day. Crumbs left on floor, bathroom was not cleaned!

Review 115:The pools.

Review 116:Overpriced for room, nothing special. Bathroom was small, need curved rod on shower for room. Could use some outdoor speakers with music by pool.

Review 117:Nice location.

Review 118:Clean rooms, friendly staff, close to many restaurants, kid friendly.

Review 119:Staff was very friendly!

Review 120:Rooms outdated look old hallways outdated and smell.

Review 121:Wave Pool Magician Show the best!

Review 122:nothing

Review 123:comfy and pretty

Review 124:Too spread out. No services available for late arrival traveler. Bar,RESTURANT, gift shop all closed.

Review 125:I thought the food quality of Hearth and Kettle was a bit poor.

Review 126:The pool areas were great for the kids.

Review 127:Food at restaurant was just ok at best. How do you ruin oatmeal??!!

Review 128:noise in corridors at night- kids running & screaming in halls all times

Review 129:room very clean- comfortable pool area nice- lifeguards pleasant

Review 130:The-bedding-and-the-pools!

Review 131:Nothing

Review 132:Location and comfort!

Review 133:Expensive t peak season

Review 134:Wave pool

Review 135:The wifi was horrible. Never could get service !

Review 136:Loved the atmosphere of the resort. Very friendly and peaceful !
