Reviews for Wydown Hotel
Review 1:this hotel has one of the chicest interiors I've ever seen in a hotel! the staff were so lovely and help us make reservations at lots of wineries and there is water, tea and coffee available all day which is just what is needed after a hard day wine tasting. It is perfectly located in St Helena too.
Review 2:The spa facilities were in the other side of town.
Review 3:The location was perfect. Short walk to everything. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and accommodating. Very comfy bed.
Review 4:The cleaning lady was a jewel. You should hang on to her no matter what. She was so kind, friendly and super helpful. The rest of the staff was also friendly and helpful.
Review 5:The only thing I didn't like about the hotel was that it didn't have any sort of food or beverage available. Not even a small snack shop.
Review 6:The Wydown was in a great location in St Helena! Close to shops and restaurants
Review 7:No breakfast is offered at the facilities.
Review 8:Spacious rooms with all the comforts we could hope for. Nice touches, such as bathrobes, soft drinks and a nespresso machine provided at no charge.
Review 9:No pool but they offer passes to the near by Napa spa which had a lovely pool and was close by.
Review 10:Hotel was modern and clean. Location was excellent. Staff was exceptional. They also offered complimentary beverages in mini fridge.
Review 11:St. Helena is a great location. Staff was helpful to recommend wineries to visit & made reservations for us. Spacious, tastefully furnished room w/ a comfortable bed. Promptly notified me & shipped items I left behid.
Review 12:Our family of 8 adults, 1 toddler stayed here and loved it. Great location and reasonable price for luxury accomodations. Just wish that 2 queen beds was an option for at least 1-2 rooms so that room sharing would have been possible.
Review 13:Rather expensive and no loyalty program for locals
Review 14:Fantastic downtown location, large room size and great amenities (espresso machine, robes, speaker system), quietness despite being on the street side, lovely lobby, health club/spa access
Review 15:Didn't love the view from our room... we looked directly into a gas station which was a little bit noisy at night.
Review 16:Loved how close this was to downtown and also the St. Helena wineries.
Review 17:It was a little pricier than we are used to, and would've loved to have breakfast included!
Review 18:The hotel exceeded our expectations with location, decor, and comfort! The staff was very friendly and extremely knowledgable about the area.
Review 19:Beds really need to be replaced. I would call the mattress tired.
Review 20:We walked to Terra, Archetype restaurants.. Staff was SUPER helpful and polite. Room was VERY quiet. Option to use nearby spa was icing on the cake.
Review 21:There was no breakfast room but at the time of our stay the Hotel was in the process constructing a breakfast area. If the design and standard of the finish is the same as the rest of the hotel it will be stunning.
Review 22:We found Josh the Duty Manager very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed. The Hotel was ideally located on the main street but the room was quiet and comfy.
Review 23:I love the feel of this boutique hotel, love the location in the center of St. Helena. They are creating a space for a continental breakfast, to be completed soon.
Review 24:Friendly staff, great location to walk St. Helena & close to both Cindy's Backstreet & La Condesa Napa. Convenient parking--easy to get in & out quickly, too.
Review 25:The only thing the room was missing was a bath tub. Ours had a shower only, which was a nice shower, but wish it had a tub. Hard to complain really.
Review 26:Small and quaint hotel. Staff was very friendly and provided coupons for free coffee at the local coffee shops and also discounted wine tastings. In the rooms you have a Nespresso machine and espresso pods provided too! Really a great value.
Review 27:I found the bed a bit uncomfortable. The hotel is on the pensive side and I would have liked a kettle in the room to boil water for tea. It was a pain having to get dressed and go downstairs for hot water
Review 28:The staff are great. The room was perfect. It was very quiet and very clean. Lovely thick towels and a Nespresso unit for coffee
Review 29:My husband and I loved the Wydown Hotel. Our room was lovely and comfortable, the staff were always cheerful and helpful and the location was perfect for wine-tasting and sight-seeing in the region. I'd stay here any time I was in the area.
Review 30:Room with no windows and no light, The skylight was on top of the bed so it was impossible to sleep late.
Review 31:Nice and clean place. Beutiful decoration. Big rooms.
Review 32:The location of the hotel was excellent but the hotel itself was extremely nice. Very well done and the rooms were awesome. The staff was very helpful as well. I will definitely stay at this hotel every time I visit the NAPA area. Thank you
Review 33:Free coffee coupon was ok but first thing in the morning we would've given anything for access to a real cup of coffee (not Keurig) in the hotel itself
Review 34:Quiet and convenient
Review 35:Noisy hallway (a carpet runner would help) and shower could have used another head.
Review 36:We loved the location, comfortable room, helpful staff, and easy parking.
Review 37:Landscaping at 730am. Why do hotels allow workers to fire up gas powered noise machines so earlier outside guest windows. Happened to us in Palm Springs as well. IT'S A HOTEL. PEOPLE COME HERE TO SLEEP. I had to call down to the front desk after a half hour of hedge trimming and request they stop it.
Review 38:Room was nice and huge. Great location. Beautiful lobby and free parking. Better than we expected given some online reviews. Best balance of luxe boutique stay/cost in Napa. Would stay there again. We had Room #1 which is a large corner luxury room.
Review 39:Loved the room, very spacious, clean, and very nice amenities. I was there with 2 other friends and it is usually very difficult to find a really nice hotel that can accomodate three persons in a room, but this fit the bill perfectly! Very nice staff that set up our dinner reservation and had lots of great suggestions as well. Will definitely stay here again.
Review 40:The siren for the volunteer fire department which is next door (we stayed during some heavy rains and flooding) went off two times early in the evening. I lived in Half Moon Bay CA for several years so a volunteer fire department is an essential part a small town, but the siren is loud.
Review 41:Very nice to stay within walking distance of great restaurants downtown.
Review 42:We loved the location and the fun style of the hotel. Super cool vibe and extremely welcoming rooms. It felt like we were staying in someone's quest bedroom, not a sterile hotel room. Loved it!!
Review 43:I liked everything about the hotel. I didn't like that the wine tasting ended at 6:00pm at most places on a Saturday night. It would have been nice if they had gone on until 8:00 or so since we did not get through all the traffic until about 3:00pm.
Review 44:It was right in the heart of the St Helena downtown area within walking distance of everything in St Helena. The front desk staff booked our dinner reservations and made suggestions for places to go. It was a bit pricey but that is probably because we booked very last minute and for a very busy weekend.
Review 45:The placement of the TV. On top of the dresser beside the bed. Very odd. Not like you're going to watch a lot of TV while in Napa, but odd placement. I think I tweaked my back watching in an odd position.
Review 46:Great location. I liked the clean and contemporary feel of the rooms. Small boutique hotel - felt very intimate. I asked for a room change after reading all the previous reviews, and Josh was very helpful in getting us relocated.
Review 47:We were in a room at the front of the hotel so traffic noise was a problem early morning
Review 48:Chic decor Perfect location Well equipped rooms Helpful staff Free use of fantastic Spa
Review 49:Wine tasting room was by appointment and didn't open until 11:30, closed Monday and Tuesday
Review 50:The interior design was stunning, comfy bed, and right on Main Street to walk to shops and restaurants. Highlight of our trip. We got a free upgrade too.
Review 51:Mix up on cleaning the room. They didn't check back with us when we left for the day and our room didn't get cleaned.
Review 52:Spacious room and amenities.
Review 53:We were traveling with our 11 year old and 9 year old. All of us stayed in one room that had a nice King bed and a very nice sofa sleeper for the kids. The room was big, plenty room for everyone's bags. Nicely furnished - modern. Comfortable. Clean. Great staff. Great location. Loved it!
Review 54:The price was high, but its the wine country and most all of the nice inns and B&B's were between $350-400 per night. I splurged.
Review 55:The location, the room
Review 56:Pillows were not fresh. Slightly overpriced and no coffee or breakfast offered.
Review 57:Loved the location and the L'Occitane bath products. Felt like an spa-like room and upscale property. Swanky.
Review 58:Considering that the hotel is not exactly cheap, It would have been nice to have someone helping us with our luggage upon our arrival. In a luxury hotel (400 per night) I was not expecting to pay 6 dollars for a tiny box of toffee caramels. View from our room was not very nice.
Review 59:The room was big and clean. Toiletteries product are from occitane (my favourite). Staff friendly. Perfect location.
Review 60:We were awakened twice by other hotel patrons talking as they returned to their rooms. It wasn't muffled at all. You could clearly hear every word spoken as they walked down the hall and into their rooms. We couldn't hear them when in their rooms, but footsteps and talking in the hallway was quite loud. Also, we were warned that the very nearby town fire alarm may go off at night but not to worry because it was rare. Promptly at 2am it went off but just for one siren call (not a series of calls like for an actual fire). Between the loud hotel guests in the hallway and the siren, we definitely did not get a restful sleep.
Review 61:The location was very good and enabled strolling through town to stores and restaurants.
Review 62:St Helena is a little quiet. Very quaint, and nice people, and worth stopping for a night, but there is little to keep you occupied much longer than a night.
Review 63:Staff on reception were excellent. Very attentive, helpful and friendly. Our room was large and well put together with lovely furnishings. Free parking.
Review 64:Location, amenities, helpful staff.
Review 65:comfortable, great staff

Review 78:Great location downtown St. Helena. Walking distance to wonderful restaurants.
Review 79:The rooms were great, and the parking was easy. Close to restaurants and shops.
Review 80:A bit noisy facing the Main Street. Windows don't have screens.
Review 81:Nicely appointed modern hotel
Review 82:Just needs a bar. No view.

Review 90:Great location
Review 91:Faced main street so alot of road noise in the morning
Review 92:Location, comfortable bed
Review 93:Cleanliness, staff, licatio
Review 94:would be nice to have a better cot for older child
Review 95:Location, fantastic service, great spacious rooms.
Review 96:A bit noisy in location Water /coffee selection limited. Free coffee at the gas station is a really weird thing to offer
Review 97:Room size
Review 98:Wish you had a gym!
Review 99:Perfect accommodations. Excellent staff, clean, modern yet cozy. Loved it!!
Review 100:Price
Review 101:Decoration Location Comfort The bathroom and the bed!
Review 102:They were outstandingly helpful and went further than could ever have hoped for to arrange a transport problem I had. A wonderful place to stay!
Review 103:There was nothing
Review 104:Staff was full of ideas about dining and filling our days with exciting things to do and see in the area!
Review 105:Air conditioner was pretty loud
Review 106:Friendly staff, comfortable beds, high qualify bath products, upgraded to a huge well appointed room.
Review 107:hardwood floors in hallways were noisy, no breakfast
Review 108:room, staff, location, spa and pool access
Review 109:Great location right in the heart of St Helena. The staff were great - we were on our honeymoon and they put a lovely bottle of wine in our room. Room was spacious, immaculately clean and had everything we needed.
Review 110:The air conditioning would shut off in the middle pf the night.
Review 111:The hotel was right in the heart of town. Making it easy to wander aorund St Helena without having to hop into the car.
Review 112:Until they upgrade the in room blow dryers, bring your own. They are really terrible! Also the pillows are hard. Investing in some down pillows so guests have an option would be good.
Review 113:Location is fantastic. You're in the heart of St. Helena. You can walk in the evening to restaurants, shops. They have access to a great gym. Great breakfast places to walk to in the morning. Lovely lobby.
Review 114:This is a wonderful, boutique hotel right in downtown St. Helena. It was close to all of the wineries we were going to and right in the shopping area of St. Helena. It was lovely, quiet, recently updated with comfortable beds, nicely appointed rooms and bathrooms. And, great staff! So glad we stayed here!
Review 115:Wonderful hotel in heart of St Helena!! Reception gave us great recommendations for restaurants and winery's. Also, coupons for wine tasting, coffee. Would definitely return!
Review 116:For $300 a night I'd like breakfast, or a voucher/discount for a local cafe. The free cup of coffee that is offered doesn't help much.
Review 117:Well appointed room, very modern, very clean, exceptionally quiet. Good location, easy parking.
Review 118:We wanted something down town where we could walk to dinner, have coffee and shop. Hotel was in the middle of town and our room was very nice! We enjoyed a fun day of wine tasting and it was nice to way to end out day!
