Reviews for Hotel on the Falls

Review 1:Breakfast not anything to write home about

Review 2:I love this place: easy to find; wonderful location and good value. I travel thru here at least twice a year and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Review 3:We were working in Idaho Falls and stayed here Monday November 23rd 2015. We were on the 5th floor, but I cannot remember exactly what room. I was bitten several times by bed bugs. I cannot explain my level of disgust.

Review 4:Staff was terrible. The young kid at the front desk wasn't friendly at all and some other worker? Maybe? Came to use the phone at the front desk to call his "mom" but it was really strange. They interrupted out check in and had a whole conversation while we were waiting to check in. The first thing I noticed while walking in the first set of doors was a room on the left with a bunch of junk in it. Not a good first impression at all. Our room was actually very nice and clean and we were pleasantly surprised. Must be hard to get good help

Review 5:There was a dirty towel hanging on the bathroom door hook and hair all over in the bathtub. The bathtub was slow to drain. The TV was too small and darker than normal. The view of the falls was on the other side of the hotel.

Review 6:The beds were comfortable

Review 7:It had a beautiful view of the river, falls, and temple. I like the balcony and it was a good place to stop on our way up to Rexburg. The rooms are so spacious, and there was a big couch to sit on to watch TV

Review 8:The water heater broke the room we started out in was diirty the air conditioer didnt work and the smoke alarm beeped because it need new batteries They moved us to a tower room the next day. It was a nice room but we found a water bottle half full on the countier and hair in the tub. We almost left but yhey fixed the room and discounted our stay . I will not stay there again

Review 9:Location

Review 10:Heater/AC unit's fan didn't work properly.

Review 11:Make sure you know which building you are staying in. There is a beautiful high rise and an ancient concrete two story.

Review 12:No laundry facilities. We wanted to stay by the pool, but the rooms were sub-par. The staff was not professional, dressed way to casual. Facilities were dirty. We only had our room cleaned once after we complained.

Review 13:They upgraded us when we tried to cancel after seeing the room we booked.

Review 14:the exterior of the hotel is in need of cleaning and repairing.

Review 15:the location was easy to find and right beside the falls. The interior was in reasonable shape.

Review 16:I booked specifically a room with 2 beds. After giving us our room we found that it was already occupied. When we finally got another room it only had 1 bed and a pullout. Not very happy about that as we were charged the same price.

Review 17:The location of this hotel is superb. Right on the falls. Just needs some renovations and updating.

Review 18:- Unfriendly staff from front desk - Dilapidated room (Pool Side) - Very limited choice of Breakfast and limited space at the area of Breakfast

Review 19:Nothing

Review 20:Hot room, air conditioner ran on high all night still didn't cool room. Continental breakfast was fine except for the fact that we got kicked out shortly after grabbing a muffin & coffee. Had to eat in the lobby. Staff was not friendly.

Review 21:Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Location was near the river.

Review 22:My room was not clean! Found 3 thing's underneath my bed! The bathroom had mold in the bath tub: ( and the ice bucket. .. someone took a poo in IT and it had been sitting on the Counter for who knows how long: (

Review 23:Love the pool side rooms! The staff was so nice! !

Review 24:The exterior of the building was in disrepair. Metal stairs were rusted. Paint was very severely chipped. The metal weather stripping on my door had been bent away from the frame and was blocking the entrance when I arrived. There were cobwebs filled with small flies embedded everywhere on the exterior. There were cobwebs in my room. The floor had not been vacuumed. There were fittings for art on the walls, but no art. My bifold closet door fell off its hinges when I tried to open it. The fitted sheet was too small for my king bed, and when it popped off the corner, I couldn't get it back on. The fitted sheet was put on inside-out. The layers of sheets and blankets beneath the comforter were not centered on the bed, and they had not been tucked in. There was no book with a television channel listing, hotel information, or a restaurant guide. There was some sort of brown smear on the couch for which I had to turn over the cushion. There was no trash can in my room. There was no lamp or overhead light fixture in the sitting area. The only lights outside of the bathroom area were lamps beside the bed.

Review 25:The bathroom had been recently remodeled. The lobby, too, had been remodeled. They were both relatively impressive.

Review 26:booking.com dropped the ball our room faced the city street instead of the falls which I booked. Staff could not / would not change room. Had one working elevator.

Review 27:Close to the falls, many places to eat

Review 28:The location was great; just walk out the door and there were the falls and a lovely park. Take a short walk across the bridge and you are in the historic downtown district. Lots of good restaurants nearby.

Review 29:Front desk personnel had terrible customer service skills. Appeared like they hated their jobs and customers. Ions very dirty and smelled really bad.

Review 30:The location was nice. The cleaning lady was nice.

Review 31:Overall cleanliness was poor.. carpets are nasty from entrance to hallway. Hallway smells like molds..poorly set up beds and equupments not working. Breakfast area was not enough to accomodate guest. Coffee pot too dmall.for the guests and it took them an hour to refill the pot.

Review 32:The bathroom was dirty - there were dirt footprints all over the floor, and the coffee pot was filthy. The pool was filled with bugs, as if thefilter was not working and dirty towels were strewn everywhere when wearrived. Although, they were picked up, and clean towels were deliveredwhen, we called. The staff seemed to be trying hard but they were allvery young and inexperienced in the hotel business, and their reactionsand comments were generally unprofessional. Also there was gardeningequipment and a wheelbarrow stored inside the foyer of the lobby duringour entire stay, and all of the vending machines seemed to be broken.

Review 33:The location was excellent - the view of the falls from our room waswonderful!

Review 34:Night staff wasnt friendly at all. Gave us no info on the facility at all. Gave me the key. Didn't mention that they didn't have vending machines or where the ice machine was. Heard one woman complain they gave her room to two men and they walked in on her. The elevator got stuck. Both elevators sounded horrible and so slow. Walked down 8 floors to leave.

Review 35:The room was very nice! Spacious!

Review 36:We were put in a building adjacent to their main hotel. Outside of our room was a best western sign and it seemed like we were staying there instead.

Review 37:The location is great with the falls right across the street, as well as a large park and a beautiful lds temple. I also like that check out is at 12.

Review 38:The facility, even renovated, is old, worn, and tired. The rooms need new, updated furniture and sufficient lighting. The "river view room" had an 85% view of the parking lot, 15% view of the river.

Review 39:The location was ideal. Parking was easy.

Review 40:We only had 4 minutes of hot water in the shower. Cold water to rinse shampoo out. BRRRR.

Review 41:The location across from the falls was really nice. Rooms were large and comfortable.

Review 42:Outdated, dirty, rooms smelled like pets, carpets were pet stained, no cleaning service after request, no view like advertised, food was poor....over priced...Staff young and unable to fix

Review 43:Nothing!

Review 44:The seating area for breakfast was very limited. Selection of food was ok but lacked eggs and sausage.

Review 45:The location was outstanding and the trails and view of the falls couldn't be beat.

Review 46:Not enough food, got to breakfast about 1 hr before it ended and just about everything was gone. Lady there seemed to be annoyed so we didn't ask her about it.

Review 47:The room was awesome, spacious, comfortable, and clean.

Review 48:People at the desk were not very intelligent. I reserved a handicap room for my sister and her husband. We checked in early but they would not give us the keys at that time. We had to return later that night for keys and she went in her room and it was not cleaned; the beds were not made and there were two bags of trash by the inside of the door. Don't know what happened. The staff quickly gave her a different room but it was on the second floor instead of main floor. Difficult for her husband.

Review 49:The location and balcony view.

Review 50:The room layout was quite nice. But the overall cleanliness of the hotel was awful. The steps leading into re hotel had dust and mud chunks on them. The hotel lobby hadn't been swept or vacuumed. The elevator doors were smeared and the floor was dusty. Don't look in the corners. Just don't. Because they don't clean corners. The breakfast was fair, but again the cleanliness aspect of how things were served, the floor... Etc. just not satisfactory.

Review 51:The furniture and overall layout was beautiful. So much potential. What a good vacuum and wiping down of the property would do.

Review 52:The pillows are pathetic,(quite hard), not comfortable for a soft pillow sleeper.

Review 53:The size of the room, and the location and view. Unique facility for sure

Review 54:Too bad that the cleaning was not up to standerd. We stayed for 3 nights and not once did they vacuum the room. The beds were only made up once. And we had a running toilet which we complained about the frist night, which probably still needs fixing.

Review 55:Room was spacious with more than enough room for our little girl to play.

Review 56:The facility is in need of repairs. The breakfast was not great. It was more continental than a breakfast

Review 57:The view of the falls was very nice and is close to restaurants

Review 58:Fridge broken. Solution: they got one from another room. Breakfast room was a mess: overflowing trash can, waffle batter all over.

Review 59:Great view of the falls from the balcony, friendly front desk personnel.

Review 60:I say there tonight's not consecutive the first night was OK one of the elevators didn't work it was very busy since it was the Fourth of July it I enjoyed myself there on the second stay I was on the fifth floor

Review 61:clear that haven't invested in this property for years - everything is old, balcony looked like it could crack. Guy who checked us in extremely unfriendly.

Review 62:The fact we could leave

Review 63:Reserved online specifically because we have stayed before and enjoyed the pool. Pool was shut down. No mention of pool being closed when reservation was made. We had planned on swimming as part of our son's birthday since we were traveling on that day. We would not have stayed there of we would have known that. Hotel was dirty with cobwebs on the stairwells and outside. Gone down hill quite a bit since our last stay.

Review 64:Lots of space in room. Access to the falls and food.

Review 65:We have stayed at this hotel for many years on our way to Montana. It was great as a Red Lion but since then had started to slip. This visit was awful----dirty lobby and carpets, marked up walls, desk person not out in front, and to top it all off, one of the two elevators for eight floors of guests, was out of order. Even worse, when leaving, the remaining elevator would come up to our floor, the light indicator and bell would sound, but the elevator door would not open at our floor, the 7th. So we had to walk down with our things.

Review 66:The whole facility is showing it's age. One elevator was out oforder and the other one was very slow. Fortunately, my room was on the2nd floor--which meant no view of the falls, only a view of the parkinglot--but I could take the stairs. Front desk staff was not the best--notvery welcoming at check in. The coffee maker in my room was broken and Iasked them to fix or replace when I left for the day at 7:30 am. When Ireturned at 7:00 pm, nothing had been done.

Review 67:My room was great. Comfortable, clean and spacious.

Review 68:The hotel is going through some renovation. There were large piles of debris from the remodeling that were in the parking area. There was trash around the entrance. Breakfast was disappointing. I did not expect a hot breakfast but all of the cereal was high-sugar type along with pastries. Coffee was not ready by 7 and breakfast started at 6:30.

Review 69:Our room was a great value for the price. It was large, modern and clean. We had a small balcony with wonderful view of the falls.

Review 70:Only complaint I could possibly have had would be with internet access... I couldn't make it work, but I truly didn't care.

Review 71:We were looking for an escape for the weekend that wasn't to far from home but far enough away to relax, and we found it.

Review 72:There wasn't any hotel info or city info in our room, not even a phone book. Slightly over priced. Only one of two elevators in operation.

Review 73:Friendly staff, average breakfast, large, clean room

Review 74:very small breakfast room: have to wait half an hour to find a place to sit; 1 elevator was broken: had to wait up to 5-6 mins to get up to the room

Review 75:breakfast good view from upper rooms cool location: close to everything;

Review 76:It was under construction so there was no bar or restaurant like they said there was, the hallways had a very odd smell and people had clothing hanging from more than one balcony and it gave the perception that people lived on property.

Review 77:The room was large and had a balcony with a nice view

Review 78:breakfast could have been more thorough.

Review 79:Our room was huge and super comfortable with two queed beds and a sectional sofa with a lot of room to spare. It is literally right next to the Idaho Falls and if your room is facing the falls, you have it made! Balcony access is great. The hotel was easy to navigate. going to and from the room to the car was simple. Perfect place to stay with small children.

Review 80:The breakfast was supposed to be from 6 am to 10 am. There was little food at 9 am the first day and the second day they ran out of the waffle mix on. Had to ask for utensils and napkins.

Review 81:We had a large room with a balcony that over looked the Idaho Falls, river, and temple. It was a fabulous view.

Review 82:Pool was inoperable, breakfast high carb, lack of choices. Spa door broken, no steam.

Review 83:The sound of the water outside...slept like a baby. The view of Idaho Falls and mountain ranges in the distance. Staff friendly.

Review 84:We booked a superior king room, got a 2 double/queen bed room; we were tired and it was close to midnight when we arrived; when I went back downstairs, one of the reception staff was whining and sounded almost in tears because she couldn't find the remote for the lobby television. I went back upstairs and just mentioned on checkout that the room was not what we reserved. The hotel is very dated, and was rather noisy, especially as the room doors tended to slam as the self-closing arms are most likely in need of replacing. The vanity is not inside the bathroom. The hotel is right next to the falls, and the walking path across the street is great. It's close to a Smitty's restaurant.

Review 85:The location was great, the bed was comfortable, the pillows were not.

Review 86:The continental breakfast was ok. No waffle batter, coffee pots were empty and no toast for cereal. No one checking in to keep things stocked.

Review 87:Nice room, very comfortable bed

Review 88:No wifi in room....phone didn't work....not clean...no water pressure in the sink but shower worked?? Property really need a Reno almost like there just letting is go to bad because the location is good.

Review 89:Front desk staff was nice. Good location.

Review 90:Not the hotels fault but we had people slamming doors at 5am.

Review 91:We had a balcony, spacious and clean room. The staff was friendly and the location is great. Literally just across the street from the falls.

Review 92:Wi-Fi didn't let us log on. Not all hotels fault, but they need a better wi fi carrier! I shouldn't have to call tech support on my visit to get working Wi Fi!! Room AC didn't work well. Slept with window open on second night.

Review 93:I liked the location of the hotel. We had a great view of Snake River and Idaho Falls! We had very good choices in restaurants in walking distance.

Review 94:Was very happy with the stay.

Review 95:Enjoyed the falls and garden areas near the hotel. Our room was on the top floor of the round building, so we could see an interesting expanse of the area.

Review 96:Your hotel is old and needs some serious updating, I know this cost a lot of money but if you plan to stay in business you better figure a way to do it. Your two guys on the front desk are not what is needed. they weren't very polite, clean or professional.

Review 97:Place was dirty and there was no help available. Sheets were dirty, floors were dirty, bathrooms were dirty. We got their late enough I couldn't get a refund to leave. So we stayed.

Review 98:The view was amazing. The iron and ironing board worked.

Review 99:Staff was inexperienced, senior staff had walked out, which remaining staff discussed in front of customers. It took three tries before we finally could stay in a room. No air condition working in first try, second try room was not cleaned and toilet was overflowed, third room was clean and in order, but door key had to be redone x3 by clerk (he finally came to the room to fix in person). I believe lack of upper management was reason for poor service. Such a beautiful location, hopefully it will be better soon.

Review 100:Location just beautiful

Review 101:Facilities, fixtures, plumbing, etc. is getting quite old and could use updating, although it's kind of nostalgic.

Review 102:The view of the Snake River and the falls is fantastic. Easy location off I-15 and close to downtown. Plenty of free parking. Free breakfast is adequate in a spacious dining room. Rooms are quite large.

Review 103:Check in and check out took over 30 minutes each time. The front desk help were all grossly undertrained. The walls of the hotel were filthy. The foyer was not very pleasant. Rips in the couches, cobwebs everywhere. The hotel was noisy all night long. Lots of banging. Maid service is non existant unless you ask for it. It wasnt the worst place we've ever stayed, but certainly wasnt worth the price.

Review 104:We loved the view, the pool was decent, and the beds were comfortable, the setting in the room was nice. As was the Kitchen staff

Review 105:The employees were very non committed to their jobs. The whole property was a little run down. No hair dryer in the room and it was difficult to try to get one with no success. The pool view room would have been ok if I could see over a 12' wall.

Review 106:Great Location and nothing else

Review 107:staff was incredibly rude. "Andrew" does not like his job there. A/C was out in hallways, doors propped open, breakfast was non-existent until we complained, then they opened a box of processed danishes from Costco and that was it . Booked a room with a view of the falls, but got one with a view of the parking lot and chili's restaurant. Asked for more towels and were told they were the last 2 in the building and had POOL written on them in marker.

Review 108:Room was what I expected since I booked a supreme queen room.

Review 109:Dirty hotel (bathroom not cleaned), staff not attentive to the customer's needs, laundry out of order without any alert, breakfast too poor.

Review 110:Fitness area with a small sauna

Review 111:Smelly stale rooms, dirty linens and carpets. Conference center played loud music till 2:00 a.m. Weight room a block away from guest room. Too many guests and not enough breakfast. It was small and only leftovers from previous days.

Review 112:Good location near the pool. Beautiful view of the Falls and LDS Temple.

Review 113:Lobby a/c was not working well when we were there.

Review 114:The hotel was clean but a little dated. Their were several restaurants within easy walking distance. We chose Copper Rill which was delightful. Great view of the falls. We enjoyed walking along the river and seeing the falls

Review 115:Booking.com did not mention that the room would be on a seperate property which is a 1 star at the most. I walked away and stayed somewhere else.

Review 116:Our room was not cleaned one night but the manager was quick to remedy this by immediately placing us in a new clean room. Mattress was not the best quality, sagged towards the "middle" so back was stressed in the morning

Review 117:Location was wonderful with the falls near enough to enjoy a walk. Nice restaurants located nearby and close to shopping

Review 118:There was no furniture for the balcony. We would have enjoyed sitting out there. The room was large but there was only one chair. Breakfast starting at 8:00 is too late. We were on the road before that.

Review 119:Great location; balcony; spacious room

Review 120:The room was not clean, stained toilet, no towels, smelled like mildew. Went for a nightcap at the lounge only to find 3 security guards asking us if we have weapons and scanned our ID...we are over 45. Sat down for 10 minutes never got served, only 6 other people in lounge.

Review 121:The breakfast was good

Review 122:The room was clean, nothing to be faulted at all, but the outside aisles and common areas looked like they had not been vacuumed in weeks. I commented to the staff, so perhaps they are vacuuming these areas now. The brick and stone landscaping outside and the shrubs are run down and in need of being redone.

Review 123:The King room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Very comfortable and the view of the river from the balcony was great. Price was the best value on the whole vacation to Yellowstone. The beds, linens, pillows and bath were really good. The staff at the front desk were pleasant and personable.

Review 124:The room overall. Needs to upgrade for the place it is. No breakfast. Can't afford modern tvs and dvd players?

Review 125:The views, upgrade ability. Close to everything on the 4th of July.

Review 126:swimming pool was ice cold and falling apart. Phones did not work in room. hot tub was super hot and was down for repair part of the time. The breakfast was a joke. either offer a real one or not.

Review 127:beds were confortable, room size was good.

Review 128:The breakfast that was included was extremely poor. There was orange juice, pre-packaged mini doughnuts, and pre-packaged sticky buns. Nothing even remotely healthy to eat. So disappointed. We had to go get a decent breakfast elsewhere.

Review 129:Location was great. Our room was very spacious. We had a single king.

Review 130:The bathroom in the room still had a little turd on the bottom of the bowl when I got there.

Review 131:The bed and view were amazing.

Review 132:The rooms were like suites and very comfortable. I found it much more appealing than the higher rate hotels.

Review 133:They so readily accept our dog. This is the second time we've stayed here. Huge rooms.

Review 134:a little outdated decor

Review 135:very spacious

Review 136:Parking lot not policed for broken bottles Lower quality selection for continental breakfast

Review 137:location

Review 138:Old

Review 139:Mostly carbs for beakfast..not heslthy.
