Reviews for Koko Inn - Lubbock

Review 1:Filthy, Run-down, no mention of the OPEN TILL 2 A.M. AND Open to the Public BAR on site in the ads. First action was to check for bedbugs! The place needs to be bulldozed!

Review 2:The staff seemed friendly.

Review 3:The sale clerk was taking forever and there was another person who could help out with attending us so we waited over 30 minutes. Did have enough big towels to dry up. Check out time was 12pm and the staff was hurrying us up at 10:56am.

Review 4:This place was disgustingly filthy. The carpet had dirty boot prints. There was hair everywhere. It smelled like a chain smoker had just left the non smoking room. There was trash in the floor. We even found a weed pipe on the shelf of the closet area. DO NOT STAY HERE! Even with a discounted rate it cost too much. I would NOT stay here even for free.

Review 5:This facility should be torn down. There is not one redeemable quality about is place - not one. If there is a choice between here and driving another 100 miles? Drive the hundred miles.

Review 6:Not one thing

Review 7:We didn't have enough time to enjoy what appeared to be a reallyfriendly, cozy, and clean in-house bar/pub, which we will do nexttime. And that goes for the Koko grill too!

Review 8:If you want a truly five star experience, go to the more famed hotelsand blow your $200. This is a very decent place that seemed to have alot "workers" staying there, I.E., oil field, wildcatters, etc. So, if your scared of the working man, waste your money elsewhere.

Review 9:When we checked in the front desk rep acted like she didnt like her job so she got us checked in.it was my mom dad brother niece and me and my two kids we had reserved two rooms. When she gave us the keys and told us where are rooms were I was shocked they had me and my two kids on one side of the hotel and my parents on the other side in the back that really made me feel uncomfortable.. I walkes into my room and felt like I was in a horror movie. The sheets on the bed where just thrown on there no fitted sheet at all the comforter looked really worn dwn then u walk in the bathroom and black mold all along the caulking of the tub....I will never stay at this.place again....

Review 10:Dirty bed!!!!!!!!!!!! Staff took care of it.. But I was still nothappy.i am a hampton housekeeper, I have hi standerds.. Altho frobt deskchanged our room,we should have never had to in first place. Coffee potin room would be great.

Review 11:This was our 2nd stay in your inn. Staff awesome,we wanted to swim ,eventho heating was out, we did. Quiet nght.quiet morning. We needed xtratwls, got em. Thnk u .we will stay again in your inn in the future

Review 12:Bedding and toilet had visible fecal matter skids on them. Room was filthy. Vagrants and stray cats were wandering around outside. Non-smoking rooms are smoke filled! This was the absolute WORST place that I have EVER stayed. Filthy, stinky and unlivable. Truly needs to be CONDEMNED! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Review 13:It was the ONLY place that I could find a room over the busy TTU Parent's weekend. We paid for 2 nights, but only stayed one. It was THAT bad! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Review 14:Music from the club being heard until 2 am. The non smoking room had an odor of smoke that had been covered up. The comfy chair and ottoman needed cleaning really bad did not want to sit on it.

Review 15:The refrigerator was already turned on. The bathroom was nice and clean. Might have been old but clean. The staff was very nice. The little cafe was pleasant

Review 16:This place is horrible!Do not waste your time or money. And their shuttle is a JOKE!They dropped us off at an event then never picked us up,we had to flag a taxi after waiting over an hour in the cold! The staff wouldn`t make it right with us either.Rooms are in BAD shape!Don`t stay here!

Review 17:The only good thing about this place is the cafe and bar, which isn`t affiliated with the motel, ran by independents. The cafe food was GREAT! Good, home cooking and owner is super sweet. The bar is fun.Great bartenders and atmosphere.

Review 18:The beds were made up, but the room was not clean. I had to clean it myself before settling in. The microwave & fridge were not clean. It looked like the carpet needed to be shampooed.

Review 19:Checked in the room was dirty, looked someone slept in the bed n just throw it back together n the smell give my daughter A asthma attack asked for my money back

Review 20:There was nothing to like about this place

Review 21:The size of the bathroom was really small.

Review 22:The bed was comfortable. The front desk staff was friendly. The pool was the perfect temperature. And we had a blast at the KoKo Lounge, the male bartendar was great!

Review 23:It smelled so bad we had to leave the door open for a while. There was cigarette burns on the sheets in our non smoking room. The remote didn't work or the vent in the bathroom. The pool was so cloudy I didn't want to take my kids swimming.

Review 24:There was no one else around us, our 1 and 2 could play without disturbing anyone

Review 25:Insufficient lighting available in the deluxe room. No in room coffee. Pool area was closed. Electrical outlets need replacing.

Review 26:Full service with food & lounge on the premises. Easy access to other venues and the airport. A decent value. Parking area is well lit.

Review 27:I travel a lot. Koko is a local establishment I have visited a couple times when I just needed to get away. The customer service is awesome. The cafe in the lobby has awesome food. The bar has friendly staff & good pricing. Overal thumbs up. :)

Review 28:Housekeeping starts knocking on the door 3 hours before checkout time. We stayed for 3 days, the 1st day they knocked at 10 and walked in. The second day even with the do not despurb sign they knocked at 9 left and came back at 10 trying to open the door without knocking. It was very annoying to be woken up multiple times each morning. The sheets were dirty and stained when we arrived, there was food on the sheets and horrible stains. The rooms aren't super nice or clean. There is potential if they would clean up and leave quests alone in the morning.

Review 29:Really nice indoor plants in the atrium, nice deck with tables to sit at, decent sized indoor pool, comfortable king sized bed, bar/lounge and restaurant in the hotel.

Review 30:i had my car burglarized so they Really need better sucurity.also they should tell customers when there is a problem, like this last stay for us where there was No Internet that was a bummer. i most definitely would have gone some where else had i know that.other than those gliches i would stay there again

Review 31:have stayed there several times, kids really love the indoor pool. staff is great .

Review 32:EVERTHING. People yelling at o dark thirty.I do not smoke.I was giving a room that smelled like bar smoke. You get what you pay for.Next time i will spend the extra 10 dollars. And stay down the street on the interstate.

Review 33:I stepped on a cover of a razor bcuz the room was not cleaned, one ofour room the beds were leaning on wall, one of my beds was broken youhad staff leaving next door with a person wearing a ankle tag frompolice peeking in our room, all sorts of people coming in and outbecause they leave all doors pryed open to the facility, nocomplinentary breakfast, complained and was told it was going to betaken care of and still had broken bed! Want my $ back, there were norooms anywhere else so had to endure the gross place for 2 days!

Review 34:Nothing!

Review 35:Room was not that clean. There was trash under the bed and hair in the bathtub.

Review 36:Staff was friendly.

Review 37:Indoor area was not air-conditioned and very hot.

Review 38:The staff was rude. Told them I had 5 kids with me and they wouldn't allow them all to swim unless I rented 2 rooms.

Review 39:Everything

Review 40:None

Review 41:Facility was old, in disrepair, very dirty. Safety issues with wiring.

Review 42:we could hear conversations via all the rooms around us. which is not acceptable. we will never stay @ koko inn again.

Review 43:the price was acceptable.

Review 44:I didn't like the bed or the TV or the lighting or the parking situation.

Review 45:I liked the price okay.

Review 46:Had attitude and gave a dirty room first

Review 47:Their website promised a fridge in the room, but when we came there we had to pay 10 dollars extra to get it

Review 48:IT has restaurant, bar andindoor pool.

Review 49:Filthy Room

Review 50:Nothing

Review 51:The cafe was excellent and the staff was very friendly.

Review 52:A couple of roaches in the bathroom - strong glue smell from laying down new carpet

Review 53:Being right off the Main Street

Review 54:Pool area was out of order

Review 55:Lounge & cafe on premises

Review 56:the entire hotel and room..

Review 57:nothing....

Review 58:Everything looked dirty and found a cockroach.

Review 59:Kind of abandoned, at least for cleanness....

Review 60:Nice place

Review 61:Needs to be updated. Carpet was worn out and tub was cracked.

Review 62:Easy to get too.

Review 63:One of the worse hotels I have ever stayed at.

Review 64:Not one thing was good about this hotel.

Review 65:Everything Didn't even stay there!! Didn't feel safe!!

Review 66:Not clean and smells funny. Won't stay hear again!

Review 67:Staff was nice and understanding

Review 68:First floor has paper thin walls, allowing anyone outside or in adjacent rooms to project noise into your room. Bed was dirty, bathroom was small. Staff was VERY rude during check in. Location was far from Texas Tech (about 36 blocks or so), but then again Lubbock is relatively small, so it isn't a big deal.

Review 69:Pool was nice.

Review 70:Housekeeping came early. I was in room #101. I do not think the receptacle by the sink was GFCI protected. I was able to make good use of the room.

Review 71:I thought the hotel served its purpose. I was able to sleep well.

Review 72:Strange red substance all over the walls and ceiling with dirt and grime everywhere. Vents hadn't been changed in what looked like years. After waking up this morning I have never felt so gross. Will be calling the health department rest assured, if only for the strange substance that was everywhere.

Review 73:I enjoyed having a roof over my head.

Review 74:Dirty and smelt bad. The wire to the lamp was broken and tied to a different cord and held together by duct tape leaving some of the wires exposed... Front desk was rude. Garbage was shoved under and behind furniture. Bath towels were rough and itchy and the size of hand towels. Overall not a good experience.

Review 75:I went and when to finally got all my stuff off, my kids and I walked in to our room. The room was a mess.. The bed sheets were pulled back cause some used it earlier and there was still stuff in the fridge.. I told my kids to not touch anything and we left to another hotel.

Review 76:The receptionist was nice I give me my money back from horrible room!!

Review 77:everything. it was a horrible, dirty, and stinky place. my dog wouldn't even walk into the room, i had to pick him up. i quickly left and will never go back.

Review 78:Our room smelled like smoke even though it was non-smoking.. And there was no elevator, and no downstairs room available for my elderly mother.

Review 79:We loved the diner! The ladies running it were so nice, the food was amazing!! Best burgers we've had in awhile!!

Review 80:The staff was VERY rude, our room had no light bulbs, the room was dirty and very runned down.

Review 81:I like what the motel looked like online. It was totally different in person.

Review 82:The smell if smoke in the "non-smoking room." The mold in the bathroom. The filthy floors. The dogs barking in rooms where people live permanently. The incredible amount of dog poop all over outside. The rickety stairs. The broken railings. The bedding with cigarette burns all over. The lack of a smoke alarm. The broken shower and tub. I could go on and on.

Review 83:We liked leaving.

Review 84:However, we will not stay here again. During the second evening of our three day stay a dispute occurred between my husband and the next door neighbor who had three barking dogs. My husband asked him to keep his dogs quiet. The man got very angry and threatened to go get his gun. We packed and left immediately. The motel gave us a refund for one night, but did not seem at all concerned for the safety of their guests when I explained the situation to them. The motel manager, Andy Ledesma, did not even ask to speak to us.

Review 85:We come to Lubbock from NM for the live music and always stay here. It is centrally located, and we love Sue's cafe on the premises. Great Texas food at very low prices. Also enjoy the Koko Club, which is on premises, for the live music. The rooms are adequate, a good value for the price. The indoor atrium is beautiful and enjoyable.

Review 86:The toilet seat was laying beside the toilet, so I bought a replacement from walmart. The comforters had multiple stains on them. The tub squished when you stepped in it, as though water was trapped between a liner and the original tub. There were worn spots in the carpet (like worn to the concrete). The phone had multiple missing buttons (not that I used it, just thought it odd to keep the dinosaur in the room). When I bought the replacement toilet, I also bought cleaner to wash everything else down. When I wiped down the desk, the paper towel looked as though it had wiped up the floor. The washcloths were dingy. I found a room at another hotel for the rest of my stay.

Review 87:The guy at the front desk was nice and a pleasure to deal with.

Review 88:Room had terrible odor, like mold, old cigarettes and bo. Carpet wasfilthy, did not go barefoot even getting out of bed. Tub and shower hadmold in the grout. Two 25 Watt bulbs were all the illumination availablein the room, bathroom fan did not work. Bedspread was nasty, holes in itand food residue stuck on it. This was the only room I could find, nexttime I would stay home.

Review 89:All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the room wassecure. The rate was good, only $55/night. Plenty of parking. I didnot see any bugs.

Review 90:Outside room was unclean. Tv didnt work. Requested different room and had to pay additional money to be moved to inside room. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone nor will Istay here again.

Review 91:The band at the bar was great.

Review 92:My only complaint would have to be the bedding. Age has definitely takena toll on not only the bedding but the mattress and box springs as well.

Review 93:Everything almost. Extremely friendly and down to earth staff, excellentbar with a knowledgable bar keep, and a pretty nice heated pool.

Review 94:If you're going to stay open to guests while renovating, you must concentrate on CLEANLINESS. Do not bring your children here. I found an old used tampon clinging onto my table lamp.

Review 95:Old building has character but obviously needs alot of renovation.

Review 96:Rooms were dirty, not comfortable. It was a last minute option and I will not be back! Lesson learned. I did not feel safe there. It has a club and when the club let's out, the people are rowdy and inconsiderate! It was most definitely not a comfortable stay and definitely not worth the money!

Review 97:stayed in non smoking but yet room reaked of smoke, allergies flared up because of this, but other than that it was ok, did not get to really visit or use the kitchen to try the food or have a drink, this time...rooms could be a little cleaner and fresher smelling.....

Review 98:price and location were good... people were very nice, felt welcomed, they changed a room for us since there were 3 families and two were inside and one outside, they gave the other family a room inside also.

Review 99:Fridge and freezer were broken. The replacement was broken as well. In a non smoking room we found a pack of cigarettes under the bed and ash throughout the room. Almost all the electrical outlets did not work.

Review 100:The bed Pool

Review 101:The room itself was one of the worst I've ever had the misfortune of experiencing in my life. Half the lights didn't work (which was probably a good thing), busted lampshades (but they didn't work anyway), mold and mildew in the shower, exposed wiring, no fridge or microwave, it smelled bad, and was generally unclean. I could go on, but you get the idea. Horribly overpriced during college football season as well.

Review 102:Generally friendly staff, security on premises, interesting indoor atrium jungle and pool, and the lounge provided a place to get drunk, alloying you to forget how horrible your room is.

Review 103:We were pretty disappointed in the lack of cleanliness and deteriorationof the room. It was saturated with cigaret smoke smell even thoughmarked as non-smoking. The bar-scene made my 16 yr old and Iuncomfortable to go to the car after dark. It was necessary to walk byseveral very drunk men in the parking lot to get to the car. I had readthe negative reviews of The Koko when I made the reservation. I washoping that due to such reviews they might have cleaned up there act.Not at all the case!! I would not recommend it.

Review 104:The beds were fairly comfortable. And the room was a nice size.

Review 105:The smokey smell, the burned holes in the comforter, the pubic hair all over the bathroom floor and toilet. Filthy

Review 106:There was nothing I liked about this place.

Review 107:It is old. I had stayed there in 1964 when it was new. The sheetswere dirty. There is a lounge that blared country and western musicuntil 2 am. We had a bed and that's about it. I would notrecommend this place.

Review 108:Not much. There were no rooms left at the newer hotels in town due toTexas Tech home football game.

Review 109:The location is terrible, felt unsafe traveling with friends. The locals were shocked that we chose to stay there even after we told them it was the last available room. The bathroom was disgusting and looked like it hadn't been clean and the room reeked.

Review 110:The only thing was the front desk staff was friendly.

Review 111:The room had electrical cords in the ceiling, lamp shades askew, pubesin the tub, cigarette holes in the bedding, very little parking due tothe club on the site, and the sink was mounted very low. If the town hadnot been sold out for a football game, I would never have stayed here inthe first place.

Review 112:Everything. How could this place have been $85 dollars a night onspecial through booking. Shame on you if you continue to listthis place.

Review 113:Nothing the a e is horrible. Beyond horrible. No fitted sheets on thebed room was disgustingly dirty. Matresses were on 2x4 frames stainednot matching. One lightbulb in the room although there were 3 lamps weliterally found a baggy of drugs very scary place.

Review 114:this hotel is the dirtiest nasty nasty nast!!! who ever choose this hotel deserves to stay one night in room 128, this room has never been clean. Wires were hanging from the ceiling, the air vents were hanging, the tolet was leaning on the wall, carpet was dirty, slept with my socks on the baseboards had 1in of dirt. Mold in the shower. Nasty! Nasty! Nasty!!!!

Review 115:nothing!!!!!

Review 116:This facility is a dump.

Review 117:The staff at this facility was very professional and courteous. They were very accommodating. However, There was nothing about this facility I liked. I will not recommend it to friends or family c

Review 118:Everything. Kept up all night with crack heads drinking and fightingoutside our room. The phone didnt work to call management about the loudpeople outside. Fighting drunk couple above us fought and destroyedtheir room all night long and again, no phone to contact managementabout the problem. Morning came and we went to talk to management aboutproblem and they didnt want to hear about it and offered no solution toremedy the situation, said sorry I cant leave desk and night watchman isoff premises driving the shuttle for another couple of hours.

Review 119:Roaches, run down, roaches, filthy, roaches!!! It was too late to find another room, so we had to sleep in our vehicle and went inside to use the restroom with caution. As soon as we opened the door it was the largest roach on the wall. The place should be condemned!

Review 120:The building The room Both checking in and out staff This hotel is disgusting

Review 121:Very very poor Receptionist was more interested on answering her text than booking me in The outside of the building very dirty the room was noisey dirty and uncomfortable Booked a early morning call When I went down to tell them they didn't call they said they did but must be something wrong with the line although it was cheap pay the little extra and stay somewhere else

Review 122:Non-smoking room smelled overpoweringly of cigarette smoke. Ad showedthat the king room included a twin bed and a king and it did not. Bottomsheet was too small for the bed and kept untucking. Phone was flashingwith messages from April - this was August. Photos in the booking.comwebsite did not match the condition of the interior or exterior of thishotel. Definitely a budget hotel badly in need up updating. StationaryKleenex and soap containers were empty. Tv channel changer did not fitinto the holder designed for it. Easy chairs were dirty. Toilet seatneeded replacing. Bathtub had pits in it and needed to be re-enameled.No fan in the bathroom, major grime around the 2 open lights. Drawer inbathroom cabinet obviously broken. Overbooked hotel with one customerput into an empty room with no furniture. We requested another room andcould not get one. Put into exterior older room with extremely pooramenities. Extremely disappointed. Will not return.

Review 123:Staff responded to my complaint that the non-smoking room smelled ofcigarette smoke and put in an ionizer. Because there was no frig in ourroom (although they said interior king rooms had one) they put items intheir frig and freezer for us.

Review 124:the location and the surroundings are scary. people hung out outside, at the stairs were loud till midnight.

Review 125:microwave and mini-refrig inside the room came quite handy. Hotel staffs are friendly.

Review 126:Very worn on outside. Smoke smell in room in spite of it being labelled non smoking. Solution to the smell was almost as bad. Amenities listed on web-site, missing from room.

Review 127:Very friendly staff.

Review 128:The room was not clean at all and the room (non smoking) stunk like smoke which I couldn't stand! & the carpets really need GOOD vacuums

Review 129:Employers are friendly

Review 130:Mold on ceiling of shower; carpet dirty and filmy; refrigerator stunk from being turned off; no coffee cariff had to go get one and cups; towels were really rough; beds were absolutely too hard; we just felt dirty when we woke up. Hmidity around indoor pool took your breath away.
