Reviews for Dusit Thani Pattaya
Review 1:credit card deposit required; room was 4 star (not 5); small TV; poor insulation from other rooms - could hear conversations as if adjourning room had no walls! small bed (by Thai standards)
Review 2:garden and public areas of hotel; sea views
Review 3:- The hotel definitely needs some renovation. Our room was old, covered with smelly carpet, and the bathtub had an ugly shower curtain. - The beach was dirty, and swimming in the sea (which is also dirty) was not an option for us
Review 4:- Location was very good - Friendly staff - Nice view from the room and the pool area.
Review 5:thats not a good idea to use the same meal for cooking by all kind of restaurants ie Italian, China, Thai etc.
Review 6:Location is perfect and walking distance to crazy world of Pattaya and rest places to go. Own territory and thats good compare with other hotel in this area.Really great time spent there
Review 7:The Dusit did not comply with my pre arrival requests for room and location of room nor did they plan for my 11am arrival. The check in staff was obviously not trained or poorly trained. I had to wait 2 hrs for my room. I requested a high floor with unobstructed view of the ocean, they gave me a room on level 2 with the view of a tree and a glass canopy covered in bird droppings. The room had a strong chemical smell, like insecticide. Other reviews here say they had bedbugs, my room did not have bed bugs but the chemical smell was overwhelming and obvious. I saw the check out sheet for that morning, over 50 rooms had checked out, they surely had time to properly plan for my arrival, a simple task for a well run, well managed 5 star hotel. I planned to stay 5 nights, but after the extremely poor service from the moment I arrived, I decided to stay only one night. The hotel adamantly refused to refund my money because I booked through Booking.com and said it is non refundable. I am a well seasoned traveller and know how to navigate. I told the hotel, we can do this with your Customer Service or I will be at my bank in the morning and cancel the entire Debit Card transaction or the hotel can handle this professionally, it is not my fault they can not meet my requests and the room had a strong chemical smell. I then called Booking.com and they had this handled and my money refunded in less than a minute. Outstanding service by Booking.com
Review 8:Nothing really from the Dusit itself, Customer Service is non existent, but the Customer Service at Booking.com is outstanding
Review 9:Carpets were very dirty - could do with a good steam-cleaning. Also, private beach area could easily be cleaned up, to make this one of the best hotels in Central Pattaya
Review 10:Old-world hospitality and charm ! Beautiful colonial-design building with huge rooms and corridors. Plenty of space in pool area. Very large property
Review 11:No bad experience
Review 12:I stayed with my friend at Pattaya Dusit Thani. Below are my observations: Friendly and helpful staffs. Safe and secure place Perfect and prime location to travel all over pattaya ( just paid 10 baht per person from Dusit to Beach areas,Restaurants & to walking street.) All arrangements of beach activities and tours can be done from reception desk which of hotel which is priced same as other travel agencies. Awesome place with nearby all types of restaurants..Italian. Thai.Indian. Nice pool and fitness facilities. Superb view from all room balconies facing the sea and in-house garden.
Review 13:No residents bar in hotel, pool bar closed at 6:30. Luckily we had club level for a drink before going out. Many standard rooms, like the one we were offered, are in serious need of refurbishment, we declined there first 2 rooms before being offered an upgrade to club level.
Review 14:Pool area and staff there were good, we upgraded to club level and the benefits of that were well worth it.
Review 15:The attitude of the check in staff. Not very good when mentioned that I have made the reservation through Booking .com They could not fine the reservation from Booking.com
Review 16:All is bad.
Review 17:Reception treat me as we are not from Booking and we are not ever stay with them. They still let me wait for more than 1 hour to have a room aswhile the other guess come after me but they can get the available room. Very bad for me ....
Review 18:To The Dusit Thani Management, The entire pool and sunbathing area was closed off for guests over the weekend 20-22/11/2015 without any prior notice to the hotel residents. This was because of a corporate event that was being hosted for KPMG. I feel this should have been communicated to us at the point of booking, or certainly by check-in so that we could plan for alternative activities on those days. All we got was a letter informing us of the closure on the Friday morning. We were leaving on that Friday afternoon so it did not impact on our activities very much, but we pitied those new guests arriving during that weekend. This needs to improve substantially for this hotel to be considered a premier hotel in Pattaya. There were also refurbishment teams painting and decorating the corridor and floor lobbies, and also around the pool area, which occured virtually everyday when we were there. No communication was offered for this. Somehow I expected a lot more professionalism from the Dusit Thani Hotel Management Team. I hope the team will pay attention and improve it's communication with it's guests in the future.
Review 19:The staff from the Concierge, Security staff, Cashier and Reception staff, Restaurant staff, Pool staff, Cleaners etc were all excellent and very warm, friendly and helful. They are all a credit to your hotel.
Review 20:Bathroom is too old .. better if they renovate it.
Review 21:Me and my bfr like swimming pool next to the beach . We can enjoy laying down on slope in swimming pool and watch sunset. It's so good.
Review 22:Nothing really to hate Abt... Just that the lounge at the 8 floor for hotel guests had very limited snacks and would not really call it a lounge cause was very very small....and for late checkout charges really high...!!!
Review 23:The location of the hotel was pretty good with easy access to the general stores , bike rental , spa and some restaurants....the hotel staff was very welcoming and polite aswell as the room service was amazingly fast at all of times of the day!!and not to forget to try the breakfast of the hotel... Good variety with everything very fresh and tasty !!
Review 24:Courteous staff. Fab buffet breakfast. Really handy for 'Tuk- tuk ' service in to and back from town for 20 baht. Garden oasis away from the madness
Review 25:Rooms in lobby floor looked quite old. Sharply in contrast with the excellent ambience of the lobby area, outdoors and the awesome sea view.
Review 26:Location, ambience outdoors, wonderful lobby area, swimming pools
Review 27:The only down side was that the hotel had several group tours including a seminar of some government authority.
Review 28:Best hotel experience in Thailand for a long time! The hotel staff took the time to show us several rooms to choose from, because we requested a quiet room and they knew that with the group tours, not all areas of the hotel will be so quiet.
Review 29:the beach so dirty, it is not good for swimming. also the swimming pool is very salty.
Review 30:we were upgraded to the Priceess Suite and it was so good for a family!
Review 31:We ordered a bottle of wine for our room (which in Thailand + hotel = expensive). The menu stated it was a 2010 vintage but they sent a 2014 bottle which wasn't pleasant. When I complained they said that's the only vintage they had so it was disappointing they never told me this when I ordered and also charged the same price. However, they did agree to take it back and removed the charge from the room.
Review 32:Location was great as it's just on the corner of the main beach road which means it's close to get to restaurants and other places but not so busy. Got an upgrade to a club room so can't complain. Nice pool (we used the one on the 2nd floor). Wouldn't recommend the Dim Sum restaurant as it was so-so
Review 33:- Limited dining options. - A little away from the main city but one can easily get local taxi that charges flat THB 10 per person to go anywhere in pattaya.
Review 34:We stayed in Club Grand Double room and it is quite grand for sure. Two bed (queen sized) and hence we fit in quite well. Me my wife and 2 kids ( 7 yr and 5 yr old). We had beach view with balcony which was also good as it had private sun bed and separate shower (in balcony). The club access provides good refreshments.Pool was good with provision of separate kids pool.
Review 35:No comments
Review 36:We are happy with the staff servicing and their smiley faces,my remarks were taken positively at the time of my booking, rooms wereclean and all the amenities available as of 5 star facility , defintely we will go again in future
Review 37:Renovations to swimming pool area was a big let down. Location of hotel is a fair way from nightlife
Review 38:Breakfast was amazing can not fault at all. Great views from balcony of ocean and surroundings.
Review 39:Looked a little old and needed to be renovated. the bathroom was really small. The beach was under construction; the main purpose of my booking there was the idea of swimming in a private beach (as the pictures show), so picking this hotel was a waste of money in that sense. I believe it is a little cunning for the hotel to not state that specific point on the website. Also, the gym equipment were quite old and a little odd to use.
Review 40:The staff were unbelievably friendly, very caring and very learned about the area. I really did find them to be very helpful. The "Chaba" pool is a very interesting saltwater pool that I did, very much, enjoy swimming in (it doesn't burn your eyes!).
Review 41:Check in was very slow. Lovely staff member but too many people checking in and only one person on duty
Review 42:Relaxing, lovely facilities in room, easy access to Pattaya
Review 43:Being disturbed at late night for mistake of check in staff and asked toget it corrected. They could have waited for morning of next day. Oursleep was disturbed badly as phone rang for long . Also the hotel seemedto be popular with lots and lots of Chinese guest and breakfast varietyserving a large variety of Chinese food was not any advantage to us asnot a single indian or vegetarian food. I travel a lot in ThailandMalaysia and Singapore for a month and all places had atleast someIndian dish as breakfast. The breakfast at 735 Thai bath was not worth. The rooms are bit old and may need refurbish for a five star hotel.
Review 44:Beach, pool, staff, garden and lot of nice service
Review 45:The pillow is too soft. Remember your wing. Don't get loss in the hotel. :)
Review 46:Staffs are friendly and nice. They have a few swimming pool but I have no time for it since I went there for a business trip.
Review 47:The hotel in overall is worth the money u pay especially booked with booking.com, very impressive service. The price is very cheap!! Of course book via booking.com!! Anyway, the hotel is good location to access everywhere in Pattaya, very clean, very comfortable and good equality amenities. Recommended to stay here.
Review 48:After so many trips to Pattya experienced of many international five-star hotels and many of the local high-end hotels, It was my first time at Dusit Thani - and my view was more than negative. It has predicted that this hotel services is international due to the great reputation of the group, but I found that the hotel Is old hotel The bathroom very tight The balcony was always dirty It occupies the lowest position compared to the five-star hotels around the town Exaggeration in price-for the level of service
Review 49:The Staff
Review 50:Breakfast not included, at that price!?!? don't get the suites, they are more like a long corridor. living room has no window.
Review 51:Location, on the Beach away from all the motor boats
Review 52:Front staffs were kinda slow.. You have to push them a bit
Review 53:The location and the facilities were good, the breakfast buffet was okay, costs THB 760+ per person... Not worth the value of money, but it's supposed to be among the best so... Depends if u r a good buffet eater or not..
Review 54:Bad Beach like everywhere in Pattaya. can not be used
Review 55:The Hotel is on the North Side of town and more quiet. The Hotel has a beautiful entrance area with a lot of open space. We had a room on the 8 Floor, Club Floor, with view towards the ocean and city and had its own check in. During the day there were soft drinks and small bits available and at night Happy Hour from 6 to 7 30 also with different appetizers.
Review 56:Breakfast a bit of a conveyor belt but the quality of the food was good (vegetarian). Bedrooms a bit dark - tinted windows and dark furniture.
Review 57:The entrance and lobby area are fabulous. The restaurants are good. Club facilities nice bonus. Nice quiet room. Pool area very spacious and well kept. We were given beakers of cool water one day which was a lovely touch. Monday cocktails in the lobby were the best in Thailand. Good background music and singing. Serving staff here were top class.
Review 58:Doors are not sound-insulated. Could hear person taking a shower and blowing their nose in next door room as well as conversation and TV. There is a side door between rooms (yes it was closed). Also could hear noise in corridor a lot from people passing. If housekeeping rang the bell next door you thought it was your room. About 10-15 minutes later they would then ring your room bell. First room we got was musky and we learnt it was on smoking floor. We were not asked if we wanted smoking or non-smoking. Eventually moved and got a better room (in same class). Hotel is old and some areas look dirty such as a hole in the roof at the end of one of the corridors. Some of the carpets, aircon ducts, windows need cleaning. Pool chairs had bird poo over (not just one but many as we moved a couple of times). Bathroom had hairs from past guests. Wasn't particularly clean. Wouldn't mind for a 2-3 start hotel but for 5 star.. well i guess the staff had a lot of work to do. Welcome .. People watched when I parked the car at the foyer to unload. No one came to move the cone and only when I had exited my vehicle (as the driver of 3 passengers) and went to pick up the trolley and started moving it in preparation to unload did hotel people try to help. In fact they then held on to the trolley as i was already moving it. It was strange. Wifi is slow.
Review 59:Second room we got was much better decoration than the first. Staff service was generally very good. Entrance area + Atrium is nice looking.
Review 60:Garden View is actually a "Roof View"
Review 61:Perfect location, caring staff, available Wi-Fi, nice garden, the only "own" beach in the city
Review 62:Very dated, old hotel needs major refurb! Some areas of hotel staff very rude and unfriendly
Review 63:Convent location, must bookin club rooms to get club benefits!
Review 64:Booked room from here booking.com like always...first checking in, staff could not find our booking and i have to send email for them for them can check what room i booked. I Booked one bedroom suite on pool / sea view side on a high floor...after 1 hour waiting in a lobby i got the room but it was on garden side and on a first floor, i called on reception and explained that i can not accept this room becouse we payed from high floor and sea view side...about 2 hours waiting we get the room from pool side but not with the view, becouse they tolding us that hotel is fully booked. Originally i want to stay on high floor and sea side, that why i go for this hotel...And breakfast was really high priced, 685 bath per one person, we dont join it, that is too much...if room costs more than 5000 bath, it should include a breakfast, even after all this what happened there, them can not give us free breakfast...i was very disappointed this hotel...maybe it was 5 star hotel 20 years ago, but not anymore...rooms and hotel really need an update...paintings and furniture are bad already...Went to Gym too, and gym was ok but too old machines, more than 20 years old as well...I think this hotel is not on this days more than 3 or 4 star hotel. If they making new furnitures and update for rooms, i think 4 star is than ok. Not 5 star anyway...Stayed there 2 nights and probably never going back...
Review 65:Bed was really good...Hotel situation is end of Beach Road, close to Naklua, really far from city, but easy to get a bath taxi just out from parking place a hotel...Easy to walk on beach and many restaurants as well. The room is ok, but not really a 5 star hotel. Really over prices for this contition what is it now...I think everything is more than 20 years old, and that is a lot for a called 5 star hotel...
Review 66:The fact that I had to come home......!!!
Review 67:Location of the hotel was excellent,we had an upgraded room on the 8th floor which was well worth it as you get food & snacks included all day & also a happy hour each evening for beverages The staff & in particular the manger was really friendly & helpfull & is a credit to this hotel. we really enjoyed our stay & would recommend this hotel
Review 68:Bar staff pool side not very attentive occasionally walked by with a tray of water but generally didn't move from the bar area. Resort very commercial and I feel staff seem slightly jaded to clients needs. Small hotel beach nearby was dirty I didn't walk on the main Pattaya beach.my Dusit Club Executive room was fantastic but some of the hotel needs looking at. The abandoned Thai airline area was an eyesore and the area by the large floor on floor 2 was messy.WiFi was patchy at times.I was told it was because too many people were using it.
Review 69:Hotel was well positioned. View of the bay amazing .wide choice for breakfast.Plenty of free snacks available in the Dusit Club lounge ,free fruit in room daily and free laundry. The staff there were great in Dusit Club area.Club Executive room with balcony shower was really good.
Review 70:Staff attitude was very variable. Not particularly friendly. 2 days running our room had not been made up. Finally came to do the room at 5.30, when we were showering and getting ready to go out. Quality of bedrooms was very variable. My brother and his family had adjoining rooms which were poor.
Review 71:Good location. Nice room. Enjoyed the executive club benefits of free coffee and tea throughout the day. Free drinks between 5.30 -7.30 with small eats.
Review 72:Just a bit dated
Review 73:Staff where really helpful well worth going a bit dated maybe needs a upgrade would use again location good. Breakfast good but do not try and go back for seconds after 10:30 clear up very quickly
Review 74:We booked a club room with bay view and were woken every morning at 8 AM by the speed boats taking tourists on trips from the beach just outside the hotel wall. This went on all day. Trying to get a coffee in the club lounge was more like a hunt for staff but the snack etc were good.
Review 75:Room inside was very nice, clear and well laid out. Food when we ate there was excellent in choice, layout and service. The hotel is well laid out but if you want to relax go for a garden room as much quieter on that side of the hotel.
Review 76:The canopies served at the club room was of poor quality and showed little imagination
Review 77:The staff serving in the club room was really friendly and helpful and made sure you glass was never empty
Review 78:Shower area showed signs of mould. Soft drinks in the room had to be paid for; same soft drinks in lounge on 8th floor were free of charge!
Review 79:Once asked for assistance with organising flowers for the birthday in the afternoon there was a birth cake and special arranged towels on the bed organised by staff without asking!
Review 80:let me just get something straight... dusit Thani is in Thailand and in pattaya yet you treat minorities different... I didn't like the way some of the bell boys and pool bar staff etc treated me and my friends... 2 of my friends were a gay couple and they got the cold shoulder and sneaky whispering from staff. we are I'm Thailand and pattaya ... city of sin and transgender and everything else.. please train your staff to be more sensitive and friendlier with staff and not for them to whisper behind guests backs... oh and my friends still tiped them...
Review 81:love the dusit Thani group...
Review 82:close to the sea but we don't have a chanc to see part of it due to constracution. the price was high with old toilet and no breakfast incuded
Review 83:close to the sea.
Review 84:The landscaping is not attractive enough as a 5 stars hotel The decor of the room needs to be upgraded Nothing much at the beachside front of the hotel
Review 85:Clean and friendly staff
Review 86:Internet extrem slow with great difference during the whole day! Too busy on weekends due to parties from outside companies or convention people. Hard to get a breakfast table.
Review 87:Views from lagoon pool and club room
Review 88:Bad staff attitude especially in the club lounge upon check in and out. The housekeeping failed to clean the balcony of the room during my 3 nights stay and there were pigeon droppings and the floor was really dirty.
Review 89:Our club floor rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Although it is a very old hotel, I like the lobby with the indoor garden. That's all!
Review 90:The room had a slightly damp feel about it - probably due to the fairly strong damp air that howled through the room if the balcony doors were open even the slightest bit. Room a little bit tired and probably in need of a bit of a renovation.
Review 91:Good location for being in Pattaya whilst not being in the hustle and bustle of the busy or noisy areas. Everything was within walking distance unless you wanted to go to walking street which was at the opposite end of the beach promenade.
Review 92:The room 457 was stuffy and my family kept sneezing, difficult to breath in the room (carpet? or aircon?). Hotel staff however put a Ionizer in the room, it helped a bit. Hotel is 20+ years old they told us.
Review 93:Staff is friendly. 6 swimming pools. Playground for little kids. close to the beach and walking distance to eatery. close to songkaews (taxi-trucks).
Review 94:The breakfast buffet price of THB750 per person was much too high for the selection offered.
Review 95:The location The ocean view The comfortable bed The food quality The garden next to the lobby The pools The room rates
Review 96:All the staff working have smiling face good greeting and well assistant. Faculty very good. Restaurent clean with variety of food I have to thank the administration and reception for the good cooperation
Review 97:It is always good service for Dusit, bed is comfy but pillow choices are confusing. Staffs are attentive, location is great. Recommended for club room with great ocean view.
Review 98:Nothing
Review 99:We stayed in a Grand Club Room and it was well worth the money ☺
Review 100:Breakfas choices
Review 101:Every thing
Review 102:Staffs attitude was not friendly and the check-in process was so lengthy.

Review 124:no bathtub
Review 125:Great Hotel in the very best location in Pattaya. 3 swimmingpools should give everyone the most satisfy.
Review 126:Internet is not that good
Review 127:The friendly staff and facilities
