Reviews for Hyannis Travel Inn
Review 1:The friendliest front desk worker! Truly cared about my needs (I was alone traveling with my son and they gave us the room closest to the lobby for extra security) and remembered we were there for a hockey tournament the next day: wished my son good luck! So personable, really made us feel at home. Wonderful pool, hot tub and breakfast...
Review 2:the beds was too hard can't sleep on it. it might be just me, my husband slept fine but he can sleep on almost anything. the gentlemen offer try out another room but I was too lazy. he said the next time we come back I can try out different beds until we fine a comfortable one. also I will bring a air matters just in case I can't fine a comfortable bed. we will come back for sure the price was too good to pass up!!!!
Review 3:the people is very nice and helpful rooms very clean! price was very good!! great location!
Review 4:continental breakfast served within splashing distance of the pool is a disaster waiting to happen
Review 5:about the best location in Hyannis, a little quieter than main st but right there
Review 6:The heat in our room didn't see to work. Although we didn't ask anyone to check it so that's on us.
Review 7:Fantastic staff went out of the way to be helpful and friendly.
Review 8:The construction workers right above us were very noisy and not considerate of people trying to sleep at 4:30 - 5:00 a.m., but that's not the fault of the hotel. The rooms need updating, but overall, I won't give a bad review because we were there to see the cape and not spend a lot of time in a hotel room. Patrick is friendly and very helpful too. The hotel served us well.
Review 9:Wish I could have stayed longer to explore neat town
Review 10:Very friendly informative staff..great free breakfast..we walked to harbor in 5 mins for Martha Vinyard boat trip.Great location.
Review 11:Not a fan of chlorine, so breakfast in the pool area was a bit of a turn off. Sound insulation between floors could be better; we had a noisy family upstairs and it sounded like the ceiling was coming down when they acted up. To be fair to reception they offered to move us when informed.
Review 12:Excellent location, approachable & efficient staff. Rooms well equipped, excellent aircon and patio doors. Free continental breakfast available for three hours.
Review 13:NONE
Review 14:Our room had easy access and was comfortable & clean. Continental breakfast was well done with great variety of items offered. The staff was outstanding in service and very friendly. It's been years since any one has offered to help with our bags!!! I told the desk manager we were glad our regular "off season" motel was 100% booked, we will be back!
Review 15:I didn't like Hyannis MA. I was looking forward to an old New England town and that is not what I found so I cut my trip short.
Review 16:The staff was nice and helpful
Review 17:Rooms were not sound proof. We could hear other residents talking and the floorboards above our room squeaked every time someone walked across their floor.
Review 18:Reception staff were friendly and very helpful. Location was central with easy parking.
Review 19:I don't normally provide written reviews, but given my experience at the Hyannis I felt I should. The customer service was the best I've ever had. All of the staff were so kind and helpful. I couldn't believe how great they were. Whilst the property and rooms are slightly dated, none of this matters in the slightest when you are treated so well by staff. Breakfast was pretty good too.
Review 20:The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub and the indoor pool. The gentleman at the desk helped us carry our luggage to our room.
Review 21:We have stayed at many fine hotels across Europe and the U.S. and can honestly say that we received a higher quality of personal service at this establishment than we have experienced anywhere. The friendly staff made this a memorable visit to the Cape.
Review 22:Excellent accommodations. Really good breakfast bar. Close to ferry. Manager offered to pick us up at the restaurant we dined at if it rained! Just a great all round experience.
Review 23:Breakfast choice limited, no 'healthy' options, eg fresh fruit, plain (non-sweetened) yogurt/oats. No safety deposit box available. No restrooms in pool area.
Review 24:Good location, near restaurants and bars. Close to harbour for island ferries. Excellent reception staff, always very helpful.
Review 25:The directions that we printed from Bookings.com were very confusing as we were getting closer to the Cape while traveling down 495; didn't seem very direct going through small towns and roads towards to bridge. We didn't follow that part of the directions. Our beds were very hard and the pillows were very flat. We asked for extra pillows. The air conditioning unit became very noisy half way through the night. The room was stuffy when we came in and we couldn't keep the sliders open due to some rowdy men down the hall, therefore we turned on the air conditioner. The sofa (bed) sunk down when you sat on it making it very comfortable. The bath tub drain sometimes backed-up with 'stuff" floating out. It needed a good cleaning.
Review 26:The staff was very nice. The continental breakfast was convenient for a traveler on the move. The small refrigerator was very useful. When we were leaving, the men at the desk were very open to my comments about the room's deficiencies and made note of them saying that they did have some rooms with softer beds. They were sorry that I didn't mention all this sooner. They also discounted our stay.
Review 27:Booked a ferry ride at a time the ferry was out of service. Resulted in missing island trip which was the main reason to stay at this location.
Review 28:The staffed were very friendly.
Review 29:No elevator.
Review 30:Really friendly staff on front desk. Comfortable clean room and beds. Room with balcony. Reasonable breakfast especially delicious muffins. Free parking space. Location close to restaurants. Good price -value.
Review 31:N/a
Review 32:The staff and management could not have been more helpful or friendly. The room was a good size and beds very comfy. The breakfast included in the tariff was also very good.
Review 33:Staff was extremely kind, very nice people! Everything was clean and comfortable. I haven't tried the pool or jacuzzi, but it also looked nice. Fast WiFi.
Review 34:There wasn't anything we didn't like
Review 35:Staff were very friendly and helpful motel was very clean and in a lovely area close to the harbour and loads of shops and eateries
Review 36:We where in the first floor and we heard all the noise from the upper floor
Review 37:The stuff is great. We had a problem with the heating and we got refund for that night. The breakfast is good
Review 38:Could walk to Island ferry terminal. Guys on desk sorted our whale watch and ferry tickets and were so friendly. Breakfast at pool was just superb no hot food but that suited us fine Everything kept well stocked. Being able to have a swim when coming back after a busy day out was great. Thank you Travel Inn. Would return if visiting again.
Review 39:The staff are very helpful and welcoming. They offered plenty of recommendations and even provided us with discount vouchers for trips to Martha's Vineyard and whale watching.
Review 40:The breakfast was extremely limited and served in a crowded space - no fresh fruit, lines for coffee and just a ton of styrofoam utensils that were flimsy and terrible for the environment.
Review 41:Location was great and staff couldn't have been friendlier! We were so pleased with how easy check-in was, the indoor AND outdoor pools AND a hot tub, and the super friendly staff.
Review 42:I hate pink sheets, and they did not feel fresh.
Review 43:The staff were so helpful and pleasant, particularly knowledgable about area and trips......nice having an outside pool, and free use of towels a bonus, especially when traveling light. The position of the hotel is excellent, close to everything .
Review 44:Both the tub and bathroom drains were very slow. The vanity drain had not been cleaned in some time. Lots of black slime on the drain plunger. No hand towels in the room on second day.
Review 45:Nice older hotel in location good for me.
Review 46:I liked everything about this inn. The room is clean and the staff can't do enough for you. I have to mention Cliff, the manager. So nice and helpful. Very pleasant stay I will return
Review 47:Facility in need of renovation & updates in terms of furniture carpeting & bathroom shower areas & decorations
Review 48:Staff was very friendly & helpful
Review 49:We did not like the room - the carpet was torn and there was hair in the toilet and the bathtub - before we used either one! It seemed like the bathroom was barely cleaned which is pretty disgusting. That being said, the beds were fairly comfortable.
Review 50:The best part of the hotel was the location - the proximity to the ferry to Nantucket.
Review 51:IT was our first time staying here we will stay here from now on. There are no words to say except everything about our stay was wonderful. Every one took such good care of us we are going back in a few weeks. Thank Maureen Constantine
Review 52:I don't want to call this a bad experience, but the only less than stellar comment I have is the comfort of the double beds.
Review 53:The office staff went out of their way to make sure we knew where to go and how to get there. A smile and a greeting from the start of the day through to the end of the day. They even followed up on advice they'd given to make sure we were satisfied.
Review 54:Front desk was welcoming and knowledgeable, free breakfast was great with lots of choices, free wifi, free parking, room was comfy and clean. Great value overall.
Review 55:There was no mosquito network on the balcony door. No elevator (but the staff suggested to help with luggage)
Review 56:The staff is very kind and helpful. The location is great. The room and the bathroom was clean.
Review 57:Cliff, the General manager, was so nice with all questions we had. Made us feel right at home. After searching the web for a place to stay, we settled on Hyannis Travel Inn. After staying there, and seeing the locations of other hotels, we were glad we did.
Review 58:Wi-fi connection kept disconnecting and did not work properly all the time.
Review 59:Good breakfast, good location, very helpful staff, good parking area for the customers.
Review 60:It hasn't been updated fora while. Everything works and is clean though but if you have to have a trendy duvet cover this place isn't for you.
Review 61:Continental breakfast was AMAZING. Staff were incredibly helpful. We actually got the coach from New York and then could walk from there to the hotel. We did that thefollowing day to go further up cape cod. Inddir and outdoor pool.
Review 62:My only complaint is that there is no full length mirror.
Review 63:The staff was very very helpful and made the stay very enjoyable they provided information on local area activities.
Review 64:The staff was genuinely friendly ,helpful with recommendations .location walking distance to much. Rooms a bit dated but very clean. Refrigerator very helpful as I had 2 kids with me,saved a ton on beverages. Breakfast was a nice start as the food was a bit pricey.
Review 65:n/a
Review 66:The cleanliness and courtesy was amazing. From the time we arrived to the time we left everyone was so pleasant and helpful. I've stayed at many places and this hotel and the people were superb! The rooms couldn't have been any cleaner, the helpfulness of the front desk clerk was great and location was perfect. I would go back to this hotel definitely!
Review 67:Some fresh fruit for breakfast would have been nice.
Review 68:The room was clean and the staff checked often for my needs. The gentleman, Cliff, who checked me in, was very pleasant and helpful.
Review 69:The air in the room is a little bit wet. One of the bed is very close to air conditioner and it was blowing directly on us.
Review 70:Staff was extremely helpful, friendly, patient and flexible. Breakfast is very diverse including few kinds of cereal, juice, coffe, bread, bagels, muffins, many variations of pastries, jellyes, cream cheese, bread, yogurt (regular and light), etc. Housekeeping is excellent.
Review 71:Breakfast - mundane as used frozen waffles vs fresh- set-up in pool area was comfortable but it did not open until 7:30am !! Not good timing if you had fishing/boating plans that usually started at 8AM or sooner- so u lost your "free" breakfast!
Review 72:Staff- extremely friendly Location - 1 block behind "main" street so town easily accessible by walking - although needed car to go to pier & multitude of very fine restaurants
Review 73:It would have been à good thing to have an elevator to carry the luggage. Also cheese and ham would have been welcome at breakfast with the bread and bagels.
Review 74:The location is excellent, near the main street and docks. Staff is helpful and friendly. The swimming pools and jacuzzi are pleasant.
Review 75:The carpets in halls and room were stained as was the footstool in room. The bath tub stopper was broken as well as the lock on bathroom door. The breakfast offered no protein or fruit.
Review 76:The entire staff was extremely kind and helpful. The location was very close to Main St.
Review 77:Internet service was terrible.
Review 78:Location right around the corner from Main Street! The pool was lovely and private. Complimentary breakfast was very nice.
Review 79:This is a simple facility, not a luxury hotel, but the staff were amazing! The attention to detail and cleanliness were impressive. They make the most of what they have and they do it very well.
Review 80:All of the staff went out of their way to meet our needs. Cliff was extremely helpful. Location was great and the room was very clean and nice taking into account that this is an old hotel. Also the price was very good.
Review 81:for breakfast-----too much waste...... and the use of styro-foam for breakfast...is very bad for the environment. Breakfast was too sugary and not good quality
Review 82:the owner was nice and hospitable, and the staff was nice too.
Review 83:The inn had a mildew & mold feel/smell to the room.
Review 84:The location was great for what we wanted to do in Hyannis. We were able to drive and walk to places easily and felt right at home in town.
Review 85:Just that the wifi was not working dry well.. It was on and off and I signaled it to a staff member .. Not a big deal really but for other customers it might be a problem!
Review 86:I liked the location and the staff was very helpful. I will come back there.
Review 87:The facility doesn't have an elevator. And even though the staff brought our bags up to our third floor room helped a lot, not having an elevator is a detractor.
Review 88:This is a great gem in Hyannis. The staff and facility were outstanding !!! Will definitely consider this location for our next visit
Review 89:Had steps down, then a steep narrow staircase to the room. No elevator, made pulling suitcases in or out difficult.
Review 90:Friendly, clean, well situated in town. Loved the balcony.
Review 91:First night I had some issue's with my room, so I moved rooms for my second night. They were very helpful with the move though.
Review 92:The staff were truly nice and helpful people, and I would stay there again next time i travel for sure.
Review 93:Great place, lovely pools, very friendly staff. Breakfast had a lot of fresh cakes, our kids liked that. But we missed some fruit and more healthy food.
Review 94:Beds and bed linen needed updating.
Review 95:Front desk helpful and provided excellent recommendations for local travel options. Good selection available for continental breakfast
Review 96:Very accommodating staff: we needed to cut our stay short by one day but then added it back to the other end of our trip and they were nice enough to give us the same rate and room. Loved the Keurig machine too.
Review 97:Friendly, clean, a cheaper option than others in the area and right behind Main Street. Good pools and decent breakfast. Comfortable and suitable for all ages.
Review 98:Very good value for money but all furnishings and buildings were a bit tired looking. Eating breakfast in the covered indoor pool area was not ideal.
Review 99:Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location for Main Street area of Hyannis
Review 100:The internet connection was a bit slow and depended on where we stood in the room but it worked okay once we got a connection
Review 101:Clean comfortable and friendly hotel. Reasonable rates and great location for us as it was our first visit to cape cod. Within walking distance to shops and restaurants and port.
Review 102:Bed was worn out. Shower faucet couldn't be adjusted to a comfortable temperature. Wifi was poor.
Review 103:Located one block from main street and two blocks from the harbor area. Front desk and breakfast staff were outstanding.
Review 104:The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was a bit dated but was very clean. The pool and hot tub were awesome! Breakfast was convenient and the breakfast area was very clean.
Review 105:A little worn and dated. Strong smell of Lysol in carpet (pet in room?). Toilet tissue too far away for children or shorter people to reach.
Review 106:The staff was helpful and the room functional. Two pools although outdoor was not open yet. Continental breakfast pastries were nice.
Review 107:Nothing.
Review 108:Everything, I couldn't fault this hotel for the price we paid. Some paintwork needed but given the price we paid it was excellent. The staff were so friendly and helpful.
Review 109:The bed was uncomfortable and the noise from the people walking back and forth in their room above us was rather annoying
Review 110:The staff was the friendliest we have encountered over the years of travel. Very helpful and respectful.
Review 111:The alarm went off and scared the living daylights out of us. There was smoke coming from a mechanical room. After the fire deprtment came and veridied there was no fire and cleared out the smoke we were allowed back in our rooms. Maybe an hour total inconvenience. The staff was so apologetic and wonderful where everything else was concerned. The alarm could not be helped My son did hurt his back from jumping out of bed but we still had a wonderful stay.
Review 112:3 out of 5 of my family were here to work at a charity event. We are not familiar w the Cape at all so selected this hotel ramdomly. I am so glad we did. The location was so close to lots of shops, resteraunts and entertainment. The pool and hot tub got a lot of use while we were there. The continental breakfast was on the light side, i would have been thrilled to see some fresh fruit, but it was enough to start our day. The biggest plus was Cliff and the front desk staff. They took care of every question and request. Super friendly! I asked directions to something at least 10 times and they new the best place to send me and gave excellents directions every time
Review 113:WiFi was a bit slow.
Review 114:Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. It was nice to have tea and coffee during the day. I also liked indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi.
Review 115:The beds were not so comfortable, but ok for a short stay.
Review 116:Location, location, location. The staff was great, so helpful and nice. Cliff made us feel welcomed as soon as we arrived and gave us great suggestions of places to eat and visit.
Review 117:Trouble with plugs not working, finally fixed. Wi-Fi didn't work for the most part. Found out hotel was having trouble with it. Caused me issues with trying to book tours, hotels.
Review 118:Liked everything but what I put under what didn't like.
Review 119:Walls seem kinda thin, our upstairs neighbors like to stamp around like oxen and it was very irritating late at night and early in the morning. The shower needed a little work too- hot was cold and cold was hot, and sometimes the hot water went away mid-shower
Review 120:Everything was pretty much in walking distance, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast everyday was very good, although it was a lot of bakery products and no meat, but the amount of selection made up for it. Hot tub and pool kept clean.
Review 121:Nothing
Review 122:Liked Location and everything else about this property. Staff were outstanding regards hospitality and advice. Beds were super comfortable and motel was quiet. There were indoor and outdoor pools and jacuzzi. Also liked small touches such as makeup wipes. Highly recommend this property.
Review 123:The rooms were very clean, staff very helpful and friendly. Easy access to Main St where we could walk and sightsee and take the duck tour. Wonderful day
Review 124:Patrick at reception was a star, couldn't have been more helpful and lugged my suitcase up two flights of stairs. We really enjoyed our stay at the Hyannis travel inn before going to Martha's Vineyard. As reported in other reviews the poolside breakfast is a very novel experience! We will recommend to any friends travelling to cape cod.
Review 125:Could use a little TLC. It appears they may have started as corridors, bathrooms appeared to be newly painted but a few minutes to fix drapes, chipped paint would go a long way. Could use more towels in rooms.
Review 126:Location, value and staff - especially front desk were great
Review 127:Could hear walking from room above.
Review 128:Overall very good for the money. Breakfast selection was very good, muffins, bagels, waffles, turnovers, danish, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cold/hot cereal, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, juice. Hot tub was good. Bathroom was clean.
