Reviews for Judy's Bed and Breakfast

Review 1:Judy is a wonderful lady, will go out of her way to make you comfortable and cooks a mean breakfast!! It is not the Ritz, nor was it close to Ritz pricing. Comfortable, cozy and welcoming!

Review 2:The primary bed is very plush and comfortable, but the small sofa bed is much less comfortable. The accommodations were fine for my cousin and me, but if I wanted to spend a romantic weekend in the wine country I'd probably opt for one of the more traditional B&Bs.

Review 3:The hostess was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was hearty and delicious, and was served in our room. The room has a private entrance, and is large room in the hostess's residence. We went for walks in the vineyard behind the house and along the paved trail on the street.

Review 4:It's like staying at grandma's. The room is a converted garage, one thin door from her living room to the bedroom. Bathroom is old.

Review 5:Judy is very nice. The location is quite good.

Review 6:The TV might be small for the size of the room, but its no big deal.

Review 7:Staying at Judys was a highlight to our trip around Napa. She is amazingly considerate and accommodating with everything, recieving is at night, preparing breakfast in our room, even suggesting where to eat. The bedroom was very big and cozy, we had our own exterior access so that we could come and go and still feel at home. Its a less than 5min drive from downton to have a great dinner. Breakfast is better left to Judy, with great french toast and classic bacon n eggs :) Loved it there, loved Judy, definitively recommended.

Review 8:Judy is great and the facility is nice. We really enjoyed our breakfast. Judy gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner. Staying at Judy's Bed & Breakfast was one of the highlights of our trip.

Review 9:We had a fine experience, but if you need to be within walking distance of downtown, you may find Judy's place to be a little remote. We also missed the mix of guests that you might find at a larger B&B, but we felt like we got a very good value.

Review 10:The proprietress, Judy, is a delightful woman who made us feel well taken care of while also being respectful of our privacy. It felt like we were staying with a friend. The fact that her property is bordered by a winery meant our stay was even more quiet and secluded that we'd hoped for.

Review 11:Judy wait for us with a big smile even when we arrived at 11:00pm. She prepared to us a good breakfast with french toast, scramble eggs, bacon and coffee in the room. She is awesome!!

Review 12:Nothing

Review 13:Very nice and helpful landlady. Great kocation opposite vineyards. Just beautiful. Big room with ensuite bathroom. Wonderful breakfast made for you fresh in the morning

Review 14:Shower was a bit small.

Review 15:We did not arrive until rather late at night-- however, Judy was very accommodating and friendly. Had a great night's sleep and excellent breakfast (prepared by Judy) the next morning.

Review 16:Everything - Judy is a very nice and friendly lady, very willingly providing information and assistance. The room, is more like a suite in its size and comfort. Breakfast is rich and Judy makes it to the guests' personal requests and taste.

Review 17:We were a group of three women, and we chose to have our breakfast with Judy every morning. It was like being with family and her food was super yummy- but truly she was grand. And the beds are very comfy, we all slept so well.

Review 18:The bathroom is dated and a little cramped.

Review 19:The location is in quiet location but not far from downtown St. Helena. Judy is very helpful and nice and provides a good breakfast served in the room. The room is large and a great value for visiting the wine country on a budget. Queen size bed is very comfortable.

Review 20:Bathroom a tad bit small, and ill arranged. But for a short stay it's fine.

Review 21:Location was close to where we wanted to be in the Calistoga area. Judy was very friendly, sharing, kind, and a wealth of information about the history of her area. Visited with her for a couple of hours during breakfast.

Review 22:There was nothing I did not like. I did my homework ahead of time so I knew what to expect. Judy's B&B is not fancy or those who think they need to be fancy. Judy's is for those who appreciate a cozy, clean place to rest their heads at an affordable price. Breakfast is a bonus!

Review 23:Judy was extremely friendly and very accommodating. It is evident that she really enjoys meeting people and finds her Bed and Breakfast a pleasure to serve her guests.

Review 24:Judy's B&B is a great find! What a sweet lady and made us feel right at home but in a quiet beautiful vineyards. Place is cute, cozy, clean, and the breakfast was awesome! Will come back here often.

Review 25:Flushing the toilet while someone else showered made the shower water extremely hot. Learned to avoid this and it worked fine.

Review 26:The location was perfect. It was a few miles from the Castello di Amorosa (one of the best wineries) and the Culinary Institute. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Judy was extremely welcoming and flexible with our two kids (6 and 2). We definitely recommend this place!

Review 27:Everything was awesome!

Review 28:Judy was the sweetest host one could imagine. She was attentive to our needs and served an awesome breakfast while providing us with a very warm experience. I would definitely recommend Judy's if you are coming through Napa Valley.

Review 29:No complaints!

Review 30:Judy was a delight and made our stay comfortable and inviting. Our room had everything we needed, down to a log for the fireplace. She made us a great breakfast, and chatted with us about her experience living in St. Helena for over 50 years. It was a real treat.

Review 31:Nothing. Loved it all.

Review 32:Judy is thee kindest person EVER! Just like being w/family. My husband wanted to take her home,I almost cried at r departure. Her food is great. Hospitality is wonderful. We will definately stay w/her again.

Review 33:Would of like to be a little closer to Main Street. It's just under a 1mile walk.

Review 34:Judy is a lovely lady who's very accommodating without being intrusive. The room was very spacious and antiquely decorated. It's a bargain for this area and you get a delicious home cooked breakfast! Beautiful quiet (neighborhood) setting. You should know that this is not a bed and breakfast with multiple rooms. You are the only guest and it feels a lot like staying with grandma. Which for us was great! If we come back we'll be staying here again. Thanks for everything Judy!

Review 35:We had a wonderful stay at Judy's Bed and Breakfast. The room is quite large, and very clean, and it was very nice to be able to just relax and enjoy a quiet evening. Having a fireplace in our room was excellent, and kept us toasty warm. The location can't be beat. It's in a very quiet part of town and surrounded by vineyards, but we were still able to walk to main street in St Helena for dinner in less than fifteen minutes. Judy was very kind and accommodating, and made an excellent breakfast. Staying here was probably the highlight of our trip to Napa Valley.

Review 36:I think the mattress needs to be replaced but other than that everything was great and worth the price.

Review 37:Judy was very attentive and a very pleasant person to be around. I wife and I love walking to town what we both drank wine and didn't have to have a cab. I would stay here again.

Review 38:The home is somewhat long in the tooth, when looking at it from the outside, but parking is good and location is near enough to town, yet out in a country setting surrounded by vinyards.

Review 39:Judy was very nice; very friendly, with great stories and extreemly helpful. Accomodations were spacious, and comfortable. Were able to off-load our canoe and bikes, so we could drive down to Napa to take the Wine Train. Over-all a very pleasant stay.

Review 40:bedroom was converted garage and felt like it with it's tacky 70's fake wood panelling, but interior was tempered by some fabulous antiques. Small bathroom outdated, and worn, including the towels (and dishwashing soap for hand cleanor??). Breakfast was ok, unfortunate as this is located in the heart of foodie-dum in CA, and was served mediocre coffee (not freshly ground), store-bought white bread, and no fresh fruit. For the price and the reviews I was disappointed.

Review 41:quiet location, owner very sweet and knowledgable of area with a bevy of local history to discuss

Review 42:Judy was such a lovely and charming woman. We had a very relaxing stay at her home and felt very well cared for. The guest room is very cozy and comfortable. Loved it.

Review 43:That we had to leave and go back home!!

Review 44:Felt like I was in my own bed!! Judy is nothing short of AMAZING! Breakfast included and home cooked. We love Judy and her hospitality. Thank you!!!

Review 45:Although we kind of knew what we were getting into, it was like staying in an extra room at Grandma's house. Things aren't new and updated and are reasonably clean. It's just and older house and room

Review 46:Judy was very sweet, very welcoming and we felt extremely comfortable. It was the best deal in the area and I was with my sister so it wasn't a romantic getaway or anything special. We just needed a place to crash and for that it was perfect.

Review 47:There is only one room attached to Judy's home. The room is very dark but if you open door it's not bad. The bathroom is very small. The room is a bit outdated but I expected that. A couple cobwebs but overall a clean room. The bed is very noisy b/c frame is wobbly. Not exactly romantic b&b you would normally expect.

Review 48:Judy was the best part and of course breakfast. The room is a converted garage with plenty of room. We had our own entrance. What you must expect is a "grandma like" decor. It's a clean room with Very fresh linen. We opened door to a nice view. It was very quiet and private. Great Location in St. Helena (20mins to Napa Main st). The price was about $100 less than other normal b&bs,

Review 49:The room could benefit from a remodel, but Judy's warm hospitality more than compensates for the "vintage" decor.

Review 50:My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Judy's B&B. Despite the accommodations being a bit more humble than we had anticipated, we loved "grandma" Judy. Her sweet personality and warm hospitality made our stay truly memorable. She also had wonderful recommendations for wine and dining. We tried Market and Farmstead and enjoyed them both. The B&B is very conveniently located to many popular wineries. You can even walk to Beringers.

Review 51:The room is darkly paneled with a single window, so it is relatively dark. If you were staying in one of the fancy and popular Victorian B&Bs it would be equally dark and your room would be about 1/3 the size. The bathroom is small, but clean and all the parts were working..

Review 52:Judy's B&B is a separate room with private entrance in Judy's home in St. Helena. If you, like us, want to investigate Napa Vally wines, te location could not have been better because Judy's is at the epicenter of hundreds of Napa Valley wineries. Your hostess, Judy, is great. She adapts to your needs and desires vis a vis time and food for breakfast. Breakfast is conveniently served at a table in your room. The room has plenty of maps and local information, 2 Mbps WiFi, cable TV and refrigerator. The room, which was probably a garage, is huge, about 350 square feet total and richly decorated with high-quality old sturdy oak furniture. Judy is a delightful conversationalist and quite knowledgeable about the area, but is not a wine-lover. But a lifetime of living in the area has given her some interesting insights on many of the individuals whose names on on the labels.

Review 53:Absolutely nothing.

Review 54:We enjoyed Judys stories about the history and people of St Helena. She had so much insight about the area and fantastic suggestions about the best wineries and restaurants to visit, plus she was a delight to talk to. No need to refer to travel brochures with Judy around.

Review 55:Bathroom was a little small, but functional and clean.

Review 56:Breakfast was delicious, nice to have our own door out so we didn't disturb Judy, Judy was a pleasure!

Review 57:The breakfast was especially good. Served to us in our room. Coffee was especially good. The eggs were cooked to perfection!!!

Review 58:Judy is wonderful. The space is clean and comfortable.

Review 59:Judy is a total delight. Room really comfortable and bed excellent.Seperate entrance to house. Nice breakfast with great French toast

Review 60:Cozy, comfortable stay! Judy is great.

Review 61:Judy's house is my dream house, I like everything right there. Judy is very hospitality.

Review 62:Very basic breakfast - no juice or fruit. Bathroom needs overhaul. Bed worn out.

Review 63:Great location- pleasant host.

Review 64:Judy is a really lovely host. We really enjoyed our stay at Judy’s BB and the beautiful surroundings. Katrin and Ronnie

Review 69:Nothing to not like.

Review 70:Very nice 1 bedroom property. Judy is a very pleasant hostess and the breakfast served in the room is wonderful.

Review 71:Very quiet, clean and comfortable.Breakfast was very good and Judy was very gracious.

Review 72:Only minor observations: Could have room-darkening drapes and more secure door lock.

Review 73:The hostess and her place are a treasure.

Review 74:We didn't have anything wrong.

Review 97:Judy

Review 98:Really lovely breakfast and an excellent hostess

Review 99:Hospitality

Review 100:This was a quiet location but close to the wedding venue. Very comfortable.

Review 101:Bath room needs to be updated - but very clean.

Review 102:Breakfast good. Judy - very nice lady.

Review 103:Judy was friendly & helpful & accommodating. Her home was minutes from all our wants. I especially enjoyed morning walks in the neighborhood.

Review 104:Good value B&B on a quiet road, opposite fields. Judy, the owner, is helpful but doesn't intrude. Wineries and restaurants are nearby so its a useful spot to stay for a day or two when visiting the local wineries..

Review 105:The bathroom needs a serious cleaning especially by the shelf in the corner.

Review 106:Judy was very friendly and the breakfast was great. The bed was very comfortable.

Review 107:Judy was a great host, very knowledgeable about the history of Napa valley & the wineries. Her house is in a quiet & serene neighborhood a few blocks away from St Helena's shops & restaurants. The room is large, has it's own entrance & includes a sofa, dining table, bed & bathroom. A very enjoyable stay!

Review 108:A bedroom in a home is very expensive and cost is on par with some 4 and 5 star hotels with much better facilities.

Review 109:Opening the bedroom door to see rows and rows of vines, smell the crisp fresh air, hear the birds and see the early morning sun.

Review 110:Judy was a great host. The room was clean and in a nice location close to St. Helena. Breakfast was also prepared and served in the room which was fantastic.
