Review 1：My boyfriend and I come to this motel often. Its quaint and clean, updated, and let you stay a hour longer if needed! Much better then the 2 motels on each side of this one to.
Review 2：The carpet seriously needs to be cleaned!!!! I went barefoot for a few minutes and my feet were black!

Review 8：A friend had knocked on my door in emergency late in night. Management made her leave after knocking only once regardless of reason. After making her leave he almost kicked us out for it, saying no visiters aloud ever. Couldn't believe it...we pay for the room!

Review 10：For the price, this so far is my favorite budget hotel on Beach Blvd! Good sized room, good conveniences in room (refrig, shelves, etc), great air conditioning. It is not fancy, but the price is not fancy either. I was very pleased for the price. Mgr was very nice also. Be advised that they are becoming a Rodeway Inn so you will see that sign, not Starlight sign, at night.
Review 11：I didn't like that the Indian lady that lives there came out in her pajamas and she look like she didn't shower in a few days it was gross.

Review 13：Well-located at a central city crossroads, on the main street of Beach Boulevard (which was a bee-line between the 405 freeway and the ocean) but also on the block at the intersection of Main Street, made it easy to get "everywhere". The motel was freshly redecorated and everything was clean and nice. The bed was quite comfortable and the air conditioning perfectly took care of the 99 degree heat outside.
Review 14：This is quite possible the worst place I have ever stayed. I was dirty, mold in the bathroom, holes in the wall stuffed with toilet paper. The staff was rather surly.

Review 16：The name of this sh...hole isn't even Starlight, it's changed to Rhodeway(probably due to poor reviews). Room was filthy,dark, no lamps only one indirect light in the corner, no phone, TV didn't work. It felt like a pay by the hour room. I hope I didn't catch anything!

It was an old Rodeway inn that was 3 stories without an elevator and you had to pay for ice and the maid didn't do our room and the Wifi was so slow it was impossible for my husband to do his on line professor work adequately.
Review 31：No one at the front desk at check in, rang bell twice had to call in order to be helped. Paid cash and asked for a receipt and the clerk at front desk yelled at me.

Review 36：The name of the hotel I booked was called starlight inn but when I arrived it was actually called rodeway inn! Bathroom was dirty didn't look like it was cleaned before I got there. There were chunks of hair in the sink on the floor and in the shower! So gross!!!! I was having trouble with the TV I called the staff for help and they were rude and didn't want to come up to help me out!

Review 38：We had a reservation here for a king sized bed and they put us in a two bed room and to top it off my wife had trouble walking up steps so i kindly asked owner if we could transfer downstairs for the week we were there and he kept blowing me off like he did not care, said i will get with you later [ya right].

Review 47：Doors looked like they were kicked in and taped back together. Paint was pealing on the bed headboard and bathroom wall, ceiling and door. Cable would shut down and the staff would have to come and reset it gave up on tv.

(These may be available for checkout from the office but I expect them in the room for the price they charge.) The bathroom was so small I had to step in and stand to the side of the toilet in order to close the door. I was going to stay 4 nights but left after the first night.

Review 60：1: No lifts, so if you have any larger suitcase then good luck carrying them up and down. 2: No drinking water, every hotel I have stayed in has provided with a complimentary bottle of water but not this one. 3: No iron. Had to ask for an iron at the reception. However after walking up to the 3rd floor it turned out that the iron didn't work. 4: electric points were behind the bed and had to squeeze my arm in through the back of the bed to plug my fone charger in 5: wifi signals were shocking. Couldn't connect at all. Had to stand next to the window to connect

Review 62：Location was good, not too far from the beach and all main areas of Huntington Beach. Parking was available, WiFi was very poor barely able to load a web page at the best of times. Would stay there again but it really is only a place to sleep and leave straight away in the morning.

Review 64：Clean,!!!! And none of the scary clientele that you would find on Newport Blvd. area. I felt safe. Great access to beach (~ 3 miles), freeway (~1mile), and all kinds of shopping or food/restaurants off of Beach Blvd was nice. Manager/owner is polite, effective, helpful. Digital TV & wireless were adequate. Building appears to be a walk-up, as I never found an elevator to my top-3rd floor area room, which is fine for me... But not for my Dad, in his eighties'. I will be definitely staying again at StarLight for this type of trip. 2 star rating is accurate, but no b'fast room amenities, but plentiful options 1-5 mins walk nearby. No complaints!

Review 72：Being a less expensive hotel, I was prepared for it to possibly be of 'inferior' quality, but it was very modern, updated and comfortable and was centrally-located to where we needed to be (we were family members attending a family wedding down the street at Newland Barn; this location proved to be ideal!!) and close to restaurants, etc. My in-laws even had a Thai massage at a nearby venue. Also, we needed extra pillows (for 4 mature adults who need 'extras') and extra towels and they willingly obliged.
