Review 2:this is an out dated hotel TV were not working clear the bath rooms need to be upgraded
Review 3:Beautiful old style hotel, great food at the restaurant. Plush decor in the lounge was surprisingly elegant. Decent breakfast, safe off-street parking.
Review 4:Efficient but cold and unwelcoming check in experience. Couldn't get a bar snack at 16:30 on a Sunday afternoon. Very average restaurant fayre but friendly service.
Review 5:Super room, good location.
Review 6:Room 117 was disappointingly small, and with no outlook at all via a small window. It should not have attracted the same price as your many larger rooms. Breakfast was unimaginative with no porridge offered, or pastries. Television picture hopelessly poor, and could not be rectified by the staff.
Review 7:The old world ambience of the hotel, with all the historic pictures and suchlike. The dining room was good, with attentive staff.
Review 8:The food in the restaurant was excellent. The location and parking facilities were also very good. Overall, it was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay!
Review 9:Excellent location to visit all shows of the Klein Karoo Klassique Festival and the hotel provides transport to the shows. Staff were very friendly and the Jazz with Shiraz dinner at The Colony at the Queens was very good. Rooms were comfortable, historic Victorian hotel building beautiful and elegant.
Review 10:The double bed is not big enough for people used to a king size bed at home. And the lady at reception could not move us to a room with two beds.
Review 11:Location is great and the embience is good.
Review 12:Its a bit noisey in the room. Passing motor traffic and noise from room next door
Review 13:Loved the location. In the main road. Opposite spur and shopping mall is a 2 minute walk away. The breakfast at the hotel is very good.
Review 14:Although we got the last room everything was arranged with a extra bed and cot ready for us .the qaulity of the coffee, homebaked bread and rest of breakfast was very good .
Review 15:Maybe they can do with more parking space.
Review 16:Everything you need under one roof. Breakfast staff and cleaning staff very friendly & helpful. Food excellent.
Review 17:Aircon was faulty Wifi was available but very poor connectivity
Review 18:Old style set up was great Friendly staff Good breakfast Clean and comfortable Perfect location for Oudtshoorn
Review 19:Air conditioner didn't work (heating setting) after reporting it, staff told me they will notify maintenance but when my son chatted to staff, they informed him that 90% of air conditioners in hotel is not functioning properly... When ordering a well done sirloin for room service I received the toughest chewiest piece of rare beef I have had in my life! Under NO circumstances use the "Rooibos" shampoo, etc. unless you like the smell of ammonia! (I am sure that the bottles are filled with something other than Rooibos shampoo)
Review 20:Breakfast was good
Review 21:Not much, Front rooms face onto main road so early morning traffic wakes one up. Back rooms will be better
Review 22:Ambience Friendly staff Very good fittingd and fixtures Excellent food Value
Review 23:The grubby carpets in certain rooms. No drinking water in the room. Even backpackers in Oudtshoorn provide it! The room service menu is virtually non existent - could only supply you a starter or main meal at tea time? We requested a sandwich & no one could wing it and just provide a service by making a cheese and tomato sandwich! The Cafe brûlée down stairs was also closed on Saturday afternoons. No shoe cleaning kits available upon request- it is a dusty part of the world! Nor any hair conditioner with the little shampoos available from reception upon request If It is becoming costly to supply each room - good Idea for a four star establishment, would be to have a few emergency kits down at reception when requested by a guest. You are in a hospitality industry after all. The tables at breakfast were not always properly laid and on a few occassions no waitress to assist on the floor. So guests have to get up and 'find the sugar' or a napkin etc. The ladies serving are real gems and have been there forever and continue to be pleasant and cook nicely. It is just you are four star and competition is stiff!
Review 24:The lobby, the white linen, the swimming pool. The dinner & ambience at the Colony restaurant was good & tasty and the service by Marlene good. Felicia at reception was good and able to give us a room with a more comfortable bed and less manky carpet - I think this only applies to the budget rooms as we have visited on a number of occassions and had a very different experience? The bathrooms were clean, plenty of hot water with good pressure, white towels.
Review 25:I popped my head into their laundry room and it was a mess. There was food lying on the floor and the shelves were so untidy.
Review 26:My husband and I love the location as it is so central. We use this hotel at least 15 times a year. We love the breakfast and the ladies that serve at the breakfast are our favorite people as they are so polite and so friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are also always fabulous.

Review 71:The breakfast was not cooked very well and the staff in the dining room - not up to standard. Did not enjoy the dining experience.
Review 72:The extra bed in the room for my son was a bonus. The location - excellent. Good value for money!
Review 73:A very well-appointed and well-run hotel in an excellent, secure location in the centre of this charming rural town. Good private parking behind hotel. Spacious room. Comfortable lounge and elegant dining room, serving good food and offering possibility to eat "al fresco". All staff were very professional and welcoming.
Review 74:The bathroom was clean but lacked sufficient space for toiletries and hanging clothes. The shower in the bath was powerful and most of the bathroom was sprayed with water from the shower head.
Review 75:Room was comfortable, with a quiet outlook onto the inner courtyard. Parking was convenient. Staff were helpful. and the catering staff were discreet and attentive. Wifi was efficient. The Victorian building was interesting, showing the history of the town and the establishment. The location was ideal for a town centre stay for a small provincial town.
Review 76:Lift could have been decorated in a softer light. It is harsh and unfriendly. Not what i would expect in a old world hotel. Too business bland feel.
Review 77:Olde world charm. Large spacious rooms and bathrooms. Lounge is inviting and restful super sofas and plump cushions lots of side tables, staff even moved one for us when there was one right there. Peaceful outside courtyard and pool area, being entertained by all the resident birds! Sweeping Staircase.
