Reviews for Harvest Inn by Charlie Palmer

Review 1:Housekeeping woke us up. We needed to put the "do not disturb' on the door.

Review 2:The bedding was plush and comfy. A good nights sleep! The brick fireplace was beautiful. The shower was wonderful and stylish. We enjoyed the hot tub and heated pool and took a walk around the beautiful grounds! Such a gorgeous place to stay. The breakfast was a great send off on a beautiful patio surrounded by trees! There was also a docking station in the room so we could play music while we enjoy a bottle of complimentary wine!

Review 3:Food was excellent but I would personally prefer a less sophisticated menu. I like gourmet food but not necessarily with all the trimmings. Especially when eating late. Desserts were fabulous and portions just right. Breakfast was excellent

Review 4:Location is beautiful. Rooms comfortable. Good place for a celebration. Will definitely return.

Review 5:Late housekeeping one day and had to call to have the room done up.

Review 6:The care and attention to details inside and out. The staff was very helpful and cordial.

Review 7:The overall experience was terrible, the bed was awful, the curtainswere torn, zero maintenance. We didn't stay, we left, such a sad, disappointing and uncomfortable experience.

Review 8:Our room was comfortable and quiet in spite of the busy highway being nearby. We had noisy "neighbors" upstairs on our last night, but my call to the Inn staff resulted in prompt staff action to tell them to turn down the sound. Breakfasts were great, and all staff were helpful and pleasant.

Review 9:. The restaurants menu offerings. The breakfast buffet should have better supervision of the food offerings. Too much waiting time for food delivered to the buffet tables and in general, cleanup after diners left for diners who were waiting ti be seated.

Review 10:The building layouts were excellent. Very well landscaped and east access from the buildings to the lodge from well laid out paths.

Review 11:we liked the size of the room with the window facing the vineyard. We enjoyed looking out morning, noon and night. Despite the HW29 not far away the room was quiet. Liked the location. We love the breakfast though the warm items such as eggs and potatoes were lukewarm. The fireplace and the bottle of wine were the icing on the cake.

Review 12:Amazing location easy to get everywhere in Napa from here. Even though it is on the main road the hotel set back integrated with trees and charming landscaping and overlooking vineyards. The food is great. I highly recommend.

Review 13:All was good.

Review 14:Nice place, friendly staff, lovely restaurant and good food. Room was spacious. The place was overlooking amazing vineyards. Would stay there again quite happily.

Review 15:Rooms were comfortable and clean, but they could use updating. Especially, at the luxury price point.

Review 16:The breakfast buffet, which is included in the price, was very nice. Very good quality, and variety. New Charlie Palmer restaurant, very attractive with great food.

Review 17:The price seemed high for the room-A view of the adjacent vineyard seemed more appropriate than the parking lot.

Review 18:Quiet. access to more quiet. grounds and amenities.

Review 19:Check-in & out are young adults, not thorough or professional. Took 3 phones calls to obtain our receipt, rooms average.

Review 20:Location is excellent!!! Inside staff wonderful servers & bartenders, housekeeping very quick to please.

Review 21:We got there at 7 pm. 3 employees were sitting down together talking. The woman who checked me in talked so fast I couldn't understand a word she said. I had to keep asking her to repeat herself. She circled our rooms on the map and we wandered around in the dark for a good 10 minutes before I finally went back in to ask for help. Same 3 employees in there sitting down and talking. Only when I asked, did one of them offer to help me find my room, which isn't easy to do if you've never been there before. All the rooms are in secluded, separate buildings located on winding stone paths with lots of shrubs and trees - which is awesome, but not when you have no idea where you're going in the dark.

Review 22:I loved the location and beautiful grounds. The rooms are nice, the bathrooms are exceptional. Free bottled water everyday was a bonus. Bed was super comfy, I slept very well. Going to bed with a fire going in the fireplace was a treat.

Review 23:I´d have liked to stay longer.

Review 24:Great location next to a vineyard. Comfortable and very spacious cottage style rooms. The tasting menu at the restaurant was excellent. The special midweek price made it even better.

Review 25:Our only complaint was the mattress on our bed. Sagged terribly. Needs to be replaced.

Review 26:Loved the vineyard view from our upper unit! Quiet and peaceful...

Review 27:hopefully the liquor license will come soon!!

Review 28:Loved the location, the spacious room (although it was a little smokey from past use of the fireplace) & the beautiful well maintained grounds!! Cannot wait to get back.

Review 29:When we checked in on Saturday, we let the representative know we wouldhave to leave a day earlier than we had reserved. She said we need tolet the gm know on Monday. On Monday, the gm was not particularlyhelpful and was outright disdainful of the fact we had booked through an"online broker" (Booking.com) and said we could not berefunded for the last day if we didn't stay. Besides the fact thatbooking through the "online broker" wasn't any lessexpensive than directly through the hotel, it took 3 calls from thebroker to the property to get a clear answer. The broker also felt thegm was not helpful or pleasant. Will not stay there again and will notrecommend.

Review 30:Most of the staff seemed friendly. It was well located to the winerieswe visited. Food was ok.

Review 31:We loved everything about Harvest Inn! The location was great, the grounds were beautiful and well kept, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room and bathroom were clean, cosy and spacious, breakfast had plenty of hot and cold options, and all the wineries and restaurants were only a few minutes drive away. We will definitely be back to Napa and will absolutely stay at Harvest Inn again next time!! The complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch and the bathrobes were also amazing!

Review 32:They forgot to make up our room on the second day but when we called it to their attention they were right on it.

Review 33:The setting is beautiful and location perfect.

Review 34:I' did not like the new restaurant, it's too loud and very cramped. Food is food though. Our bed was very uncomfortable although one I had last year was great.

Review 35:I love the location of this unique hotel. The grounds are very well maintained with beautiful plants.

Review 36:A little pricey --- but what isn't in Napa... Some of the waitstaff at restaurant were a little over eager...

Review 37:Beautiful property, great environment to decompress and relax. Proximity to town, vineyards and CIA.

Review 38:The young driveway check-in lady was rather bland and could have been more welcoming and explained that the checkin process is completed while you are still in your car ... I mean, how cool - and who knew?? The rest of the staff were incredible!!

Review 39:Pick your room carefully and get a magnificent view over the vineyards

Review 40:I love the little touches that Harvest Inn provides. From being able to check in without getting out of your car, the complimentary 1/2 bottle of wine in the room, the complimentary juice and water in the fridge to the pool being open 24/7.

Review 41:Parking! It was a hassle to find parking upon arrival. The staff was very polite and moved a car so that we had a parking space. The entire parking fiasco took about 30 minutes to complete and caused us to be late for an engagement. The problem was that you hosted a wedding party who took up all your available parking spaces which you shifted from "your" problem to "my" problem. One other small complaint. Some of the flooring in the bathroom is beautiful but painful on the feet. How about grinding the few sharp stones down a bit so the floor isn't hazardous to the feet? Last complaint is that the hvac system works well but needs a better control system. All in all, I will be back the next time I visit your area.

Review 42:The staff was helpful and pleasant

Review 43:I chose this hotel because the promotional materials and website say it has a spa and I really wanted a spa. This hotel does not actually have a "spa." They have a relationship with service providers that come in and three rooms. There is no locker room, no relaxation room, no real spa. The claim of a spa is just wrong. The hotel staff couldn't even say what the hours were. And the staff was quite defensive about their lack of knowledge. Also, the decorating is very tired and dated. The prices are in the luxury realm, and it is not a luxury property.

Review 44:The restaurant was good, and the staff there excellent. Room was clean and comfortable.

Review 45:Loved this hotel. The rooms and grounds are beautiful. The restaurant was fabulous. I would definitely stay there again. The hotel provided a split of wine for your stay and a fridge stocked with bottled water.

Review 46:Location was central to everywhere we wanted to go. Room was cool and comfortable. Staff was friendly. Extras like breakfast, wifi and wine in the room were nice.

Review 47:People on top of us were constantly walking back-and-forth we couldn't sleep the facilities need to be upgraded the walls need to be insulated . Room was dark and gloomy only had one window . For $500 a night definitely not worth it .

Review 48:Restaurant was supposed to be the big draw, totally disappointed, waiter was horrible, couldn't get a glass of wine, left after appetizers.

Review 49:Great location, rooms are nice and comfortable.

Review 50:There are two pools. The pool area on the south side of the property needs significant improvement. The jacuzzi surface appeared to completely covered in algae or was permanently stained. There were also broken bottles in the dirt by the jacuzzi. I did bring this to the attention of the staff upon leaving and they seemed like they took my feedback seriously, but you never know.

Review 51:We had a fabulous two story room with a view of the vineyard. It had two fireplaces too. The view and location was fabulous! I would note that the decor is somewhat dated. A lot of brick and browns. The bed was okay, but a little soft for me. Perhaps time for a new mattress. Nevertheless, the view and the romantic factor was incredibly high. Some of the units have hot tubs on the porches with a vineyard view, but not as good a view as the upstairs units. They also have a patio area that would be wonderful for a wedding or party. I was also very impressed by the staff and found people to be incredibly friendly and accommodating, Unlike some reviews I read. They also have a car service with free rides to nearby places. Would definitely go back.

Review 52:The room was quiet, clean AND VERYspacious. the grounds were very well kept. The staff were all great and always appeared happy and enjoying their job. We will greatly recommend it. Next time we are in the area we will stay there.

Review 53:Bed was too soft and hurt my back. Breakfast food is inside a working kitchen. People are working all around. There was a tub of almost rotten leeks behind the food. I think they should re-think where the hot breakfast food is served

Review 54:Excellent location, great facilities and friendliness of staff.

Review 55:had some problems when we arrived finding us a twin room. the gym is very basic and small.

Review 56:we were given a great room with views of the vineyard. only a small walk to the beautiful restaurants of St. Helena.

Review 57:I haven’t noticed any negative aspects. Had a perfect experience in my 2 days there. Would definitely go back.

Review 58:Harvest Inn is a resort in the middle of Napa valley. But it does not fell like a big resort. It is extremely comfortable and calm. It feels like home, but better. The rooms are big, clean and very well equipped. Staff is friendly and breakfast is very good (with health options and not just eggs, bacon and packages like most places). They offer local wine by the pool from 17 to 19. Common facilities are very good and never crowded. Pools are clean.

Review 59:Restaurant staffing and organisation was chaotic. The seating area is simply too small for the number of guests and this gives rise to conflict and chaos at peak times, especially breakfast. Breakfast choice is very poor by modern international standards.

Review 60:Very well designed and positioned centrally for Napa Valley wine land.

Review 61:Bad seating at restaurant each time. As two women we were the only couple seated at a small table for both dinners. Rude waitress. Refrigerator broke. It took many efforts to get it replaced including getting a replacement that was old, filthy and also broken.

Review 62:Beautiful location.

Review 63:Mattress too soft. Maids ignore "do not disturb" sign. Blah interior of the room. Breakfast lacking seasonal fruit (cherries, strawberries). Steep price. Slow wifi. Could not print boarding passes - no printer available for guests.

Review 64:Beautiful grounds, room is large, clean, comfortable. Soft towels, bath robes. Large bathroom with good ventilation, mirrors for dressing and makeup. Good breakfast

Review 65:The concierge told us that there will be a free wine tasting tonight, so we changed our plans and wanted to take part. We arrived in time and they just told us that the manager cancelled the event. Very frustrating!!

Review 66:The room, breakfast

Review 67:The service and staff were amazing. The food was outstanding and made your palette scream for more:) The grounds and the decor are something right out of Sunset magazine. My husband and I can not say enough wonderful things about this hotel. We LOVE it! We are planning on returning in the near future. The general manager treated us very special and Lisa in charge of guest services was so professional and took customer service to a whole new level. Bianca, who worked in guest services and new to the property, treated us wonderfully. Outstanding experience!!!!!!!

Review 68:Check-in was a bit awkward with new technology that was not working well yet. Bed was too soft. Distance to rooms a bit far from parking for elderly parents.

Review 69:Great location in the heart of the wine country. Large room. Incredible complimentary breakfast. Lots of amenities. Very clean.

Review 70:Bed sagged in middle and was too soft for my bad back. I woke up in pain. Booking.com listed this as a non smoking property inside and out. Smoking is allowed outside. My neighbor was smoking a cigar on the balcony next to mine (they did stop when I complained).

Review 71:Location, atmosphere, very attentive staff

Review 72:We were situated on the far end of the property - so getting to breakfast in the rain was a drag. Also, we were in a room long the highway. A bit noisy early in the morning when the large trucks were barreling down the road.

Review 73:Terrific cozy room with a bed I wanted to take home with me. Great bathtub. It was so much better than a typical hotel room. I was happy to lounge in it all morning.

Review 74:Construction work going on the property, which we weren't made aware of. The garden right in front of our room was being worked on.

Review 75:Super pet friendly. Food and water bowl and comfy bed ready and waiting for our furry one.

Review 76:Maids wanted to be tipped daily so the service started much better then it ended. Grounds were under construction and were a mess.

Review 77:Wonderful rooms. Perfect wine country setting.

Review 78:This hotel tried to rob me from booking to check out. They just could not because I asked the intervention of Booking.com´s customer service, which made a great job. I made the reservation several days before and had to make a change. I sent an email to the hotel 17 days before the host. They answered 4 days later saying, "changes requested 15 days prior to hosting are not allowed." Why the delay to answer me? My request was just to change the stay from 3 to 2 nights. We agreed after the intervention of Booking.com but the hotel did not change the price, continued charging me the 3 nights. The night I checked in, to my astonishment, my reservation contained 3 nights for 485 USD each. I said nothing and wrote to Booking.com. When I checked out, the problem was fixed. It´s useless to be in a beautiful hotel, with spacious and comfortable rooms, if you can´t relax. Walking through the region and talking to other tourists, I saw that there is nothing to justify the extortionate rates of Harvest Inn. Another point - the hotel has nothing walking distance and the restaurant was closed (thankfully because, judging by the big picture, should be extortionate and an unprecedented arrogance). If you like wine, will be required to take the risk of driving or do like me - do not drink in wine country). In short: if you want to relax, stay away. At Harvest Inn, you will take a “degustation” of special bouquets of tourist traps.

Review 79:Big and comfortable room.

Review 80:The hotel is located very centrally, the grounds were beautiful, staff friendly, breakfast delicious, evening wine tasting relaxing and rooms stunning. Even though there was quite a bit of construction going on during our stay due to them getting ready for "season", we were never inconvenienced and never heard a sound. Spent 4 glorious nights!

Review 81:Loved our stay! We were in a king room in the fountain area. Used the electric fireplace in the room every night while we luxuriated in the comfy, plush bed. Outstanding breakfast included and the absolutely beautiful grounds only added to the experience!

Review 82:The fireplace may have needed a chimney sweep as we had poor air quality even when it was not used.

Review 83:Charming brick work throughout. Lovely heated pool and spa. Beautiful views everywhere. Great staff. Delicious quality breakfast.

Review 84:Really just the air condition system and the hotel room soaps and shampoos... which it trivial. The Inn should have better toiletries in each room and open a gift shop, selling the wines we tasted, spa stuff and snacks. Big buisness for tourists.

Review 85:4-7 wine and cheese tasting. The piano player. Staff was extremely sweet. Best location - could walk to multiple good wineries and shopping. Easy to use driving service... Just call the front desk. Giant bathtub!

Review 86:My only complaint is the "spa"- on theirwebsite they claim they have a renown spa, however I booked a very expensive massage at 930 am to find out that I had to wait outside in the cold for the massage room to open which is literally a room. The masseuse was very nice but everything was just a bit odd about the situation. They also booked me at an incorrect time and I believe I lost 10 minutes off my message for thisite (not masseuses fault I think). I wouldn't recommend a spa visit but because everything else was great I found it hard to complain.

Review 87:the service was excellent. The staff brings bottled waters to your room each night and the rooms are immaculate. Bathrooms are spacious and cater to a romantic escape. Beds are comfortable as well. The grounds offer a pretty landscape and the complimentary breakfast was great. At night they even provide cheeses and wine in the main room overlooking the patio. We loved it there and I would recommend this place to any couple. We went off season in February and had a great rate!

Review 88:Current construction made it a little messy but that is nitpicking really.

Review 89:Great layout and very inclusive features like water, breakfast and WiFi that often you get nickel and dimed elsehwere. Most comfortable bed I've slept in for quite a while

Review 90:Staff was friendly and worked to get us a room that worked for us since my "special request" had not gone through. Even the sofa bed was comfortable. All the extras (like free beverages) were much appreciated, and breakfast was great. We only wished we could stay longer.

Review 91:Construction work going on was not disclosed prior to booking. Front desk personnel unprofessional

Review 92:Beautiful grounds, large suite, accessible to a variety of wineries & restaurants, unique setting.

Review 93:Harvest Inn is perfectly located. The town of st. Helena is so charming, and the restaurants are fantastic. The little shops are so cute! Visit Wood House Chocolates, lunch at V Satui Winery and Gotts! Plus the Harvest Inn is beautiful, clean and great staff!! I highly recommend staying and playing here!!

Review 94:The cleaner they use smells very strong, had to air out room upon arrival. Lost hot water to our room as we were trying to get ready and leave on our departure morning....still haven't heard from manager regarding our complaint.

Review 95:Our room size was nice. Breakfast was very generous and views were great.

Review 96:The staff from the front desk Shelia working on making my husbands birthday one to remember! To housekeeping and even the ground keepers welcoming us and thanking us for staying there, ownership and pride in their beautiful inn will have us coming back. This is our 3rd time visiting and we will be back. Thank you Sheila for making our little get away so wonderful

Review 97:Our water pressure in the bathroom was almost zero at the sink and double strong in the shower.

Review 98:The Harvest Inn is centrally located if you are visiting wineries. Our room was very large and comfortable! Beautiful setting and friendly staff. We recommend you have your complimentary breakfast on the outdoor patio with a view of the vineyard and fog. Certainly one of the nicest places to stay - We will return!!!

Review 99:the walls of the rooms are thin and you could hear noise from other rooms if the people were noisy. Fortunately we only had one night with neighbors and they were not bad, but that could be a problem if the place was full.

Review 100:the location of the Inn was perfect! the grounds of the inn were beautiful and picturesque! the room was lovely, roomy and well appointed-- bed very comfortable--good shower. The breakfast was great-- good variety, plentiful and all fresh and well presented. The lobby was under construction while we were there, but it did not matter a bit! the staff was warm, friendly and helpful

Review 101:Pillows are too soft. Piano was a bit too loud at the evening wine & cheese reception, but it was a nice touch nevertheless. These issues are very minor in the context of a very wonderful stay.

Review 102:Everything - the accommodations, buffet breakfast, the hotel and kitchen staff, the price, the amenities, the delightfully warm pools, the wine reception.

Review 103:We weren't notified of some construction. We were looking forward to hanging out in what appeared to be a beautiful lobby and bar (on their website) but it is unfortunately being replaced with a restaurant. This may take away from the quaintness of the property in the future.

Review 104:Beautiful property! Very quaint and the staff was very polite and helpful. The hotel price included many unexpected details like a bottle of wine, bottled water, wine tastings and an evening shuttle service. We wished we had planned a longer stay there.

Review 105:The front lobby was under renovation so the staff was a bit distracted. But nothing too major.

Review 106:Room was spacious and welcoming. I loved the fireplace and huge bathtub! Very cozy. I slept like a baby!

Review 107:good location in Napa valley, there are several excellent restaurants just 1 mile nearby. The room is quite comfortable and service is very nice, too.

Review 108:The included breakfast could include more choices but it isn't bad at all.

Review 109:Excellent option to stay in Napa, very clean, comfortable and near most of the mainstream vineyards

Review 110:This was a fabulous place to stay. We would highly recommend. Originally we were to stay at the Westin in Napa, but the pricing and location did not live up to the standards at the Westin. The breakfast was great and the staff was amazing at the Harvest Inn. 5 stars all around!

Review 111:The check in time is ridiculous! You change this ASAP. Most people would to check in and go tasting. The workout room is embarrassing. The fire flu was stuck and flooded our room with smoke when we lit the fire. Fix those things and you have a winner... Don't and be poor to average.

Review 112:The breakfast was good and convenient. Staff were all great. Location is solid

Review 113:Spiders near the fireplace

Review 114:Beautiful grounds

Review 115:Very cozy we like the fire place!

Review 116:No

Review 117:Location is good

Review 118:The accommodations and the site

Review 119:An amazing stay, staff and property! Can't wait to stay again!

Review 120:breakfast could offer more alternatives

Review 121:concierge was very helpful in many ways; the dinner was excellent.

Review 122:the upper management staff need to be over hauled it seem one one person knew what to do and was over welmed

Review 123:work staff and location is awsome

Review 124:Everything !!

Review 125:Dated, noisy room. Could hear conversations of people next door, footsteps of people above, road noise. No bathtub. Poor room layout, dark.

Review 126:Very expensive no whirlpool in bathroom

Review 127:Location was great Car and driver use
