Reviews for Riverdale Inn - Jacksonville
Review 1:Not having control of the AC in our room. It was actually located in a different guest's room.
Review 2:1st time at a bed and breakfast. It was soo comfortable to have a place to come "home" to every night. It's as if you were staying at a friend's place.
Review 3:One was treated as a friend not a patron. Bar on the honor system. Freshly made breakfast, excellent. Location, within walking distance of parks, restaurants, museum and the "Riverwalk".
Review 4:Comfortable bed and reading chairs, nice bathroom, many places around the house to hide away and read or sit and chat. Breakfast was excellent, and the price quote reasonable. We were upgraded for free to a room that was almost double the price. Gracious host. Nothing bad to say about the place. Highly, highly recommend.
Review 5:Very welcoming from the start. All the comforts of home, but someone else preps and cleans! Secure and situated nicely only a few steps from Memorial Park!
Review 6:We were in the carriage house and the room was big and spacious but needed a new rug.
Review 7:Perfect breakfast served to our taste. Nice rooms to relax in. Loved the front porch and the rocking chairs. In walking distance to Memorial Park and Cummers Museum and Gardens.
Review 8:Huge house in a superior location & we were given a nice upgraded room, however it is showing its age with sadly faded window treatments, couches/chairs and art prints. There was mildew on the inside of glass of some art. In our room there were large cracks in some walls (caused by the sagging building - the house is old and wooden & in Florida: sagging is to be expected but should be repaired.) Wall repairs had been made in bathroom but were hap-hazard and amateurish - Repairs which had been made were repainted with mis-matched paint which ended up looking like dirt on the walls. In actuality, the entire bathroom sorely needed an new coat of paint to cover the dirt/grease streaks on the walls that had been exacerbated by the steam. As to breakfast - at best it was very lackluster & there was a limited selection & certainly would never be considered gourmet. The ever cheerful staff was however, less than attentive to service in the dining area. Requests for no grits yielded no bacon but still had the grits... some tables got jelly & some didn't for their 1 slice of very cold white un-buttered toast - no choice of breads, meats or starches. There were no spoons available for cereal without asking for them on one of the rare appearances of the staff - while waiting for the staff to reappear one did have time to notice what a slipshod job had been done painting the dining area - the sloppy trim work was actually painful to see - really this old gem deserves so much better. Considering every thing - even with the upgrade - this inn is highly overpriced and extraordinarily disappointing.
Review 9:An extremely well stocked honor bar (wine/beer & top shelf liquor)- charming enough to make you want to stay there to enjoy your adult beverage. Entire staff was consistently warm & friendly. Wi-Fi was both strong & secured- well done. New mattresses & bedding-aahhhhh.......
Review 10:No bad experiences to be had
Review 11:The couple that own the Riverdale Inn were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about their area. Everything we needed was within walking distance, restaurants, coffee shops & shopping. Memorial Park and the St John's River were a hop, skip and jump away. The house was very well kept, clean & neat. The bed was fantastic, slept like a baby
Review 12:If you can't do stairs, this is not the place for you.
Review 13:Beautiful old building, large, well decorated rooms, comfortable bed, and tasty breakfast. Good coffee.

Review 18:Awesome bed and breakfast. The staff was great and made you feel like a guest in their home. It is in a very good location with reasturants and shopping in walking distance. The breakfast was wonderful and it is only a few miles to the downtown area. Would give it two thumbs up. Better than any hotel for the price

Review 36:The staff was lovely! Very laid back. It was like staying at a relatives house. They let you help yourself, breakfast served in the morning, and the decor make you feel like you were at a home and not a hotel. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone! Wonderful stay; my boyfriend and I can't wait to go back again.
Review 37:I thought the price per night was a little high, but that being said, I was very comfortable.
Review 38:Great location next to park and several restaurants nearby. Easy access to I-95. Breakfast which was included was wonderful. They prepared it after you order from menu. Bed and bath were both great. Family that owned the house were very courteous and helpful. I would stay here again.
Review 39:A delightful stay! A warm welcome upon arrival, nothing stuffy, like checking in with an old friend. My room was very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect, the water down the street, beautiful waterside park a block away, and Elizabeth st a five minute walk. There you will find several great resturants to dine. Publix and Starbucks are right there too.
