Reviews for Postcard Inn Beach Resort & Marina at Holiday Isle

Review 1:I didn't like that we paid for a 3 nights stay but were charged the $25 resort fee 4 times. Apparently, they count the day you check in after 4pm and the check out day that you have to leave by 11am as full days. We didn't enjoy hearing a dog barking which echoed through the hallway. Overall, we thought this resort was too expensive. I understand there are renovations going on at this resort but you could tell there were standard maintenance items that have neglected for quite some time.

Review 2:We liked the beach, pool, DJ and fire pits. We enjoyed the food and staff at Jaws Raw Bar. Our room was nicely updated.

Review 3:The bathroom door was almost all the way off it's hinges. Couldn't open it at one point. Had to sort-of fix it first. The tub faucet leaked constantly.

Review 4:The place was beautiful and you can tell there is a lot of effort put into it. For the most part, it was well maintained.

Review 5:Handle on shower fell off, no extractor fan in bathroom and window did not open, was woken up at 7:45 by someone drilling and banging with a hammer on the property they are renovating next door

Review 6:We were unaware that the resort was under construction, previous amenities were unavailable, way over priced as the advertised bars, restaurants, etc are no longer there. Due to the high price and low accommodations the staff provided us with a 75% refund which made it worth it. Our ocean front room was no where near the ocean, we faced another building that had a huge hole in the wall.Tiki bar and rum runners bars are gone. They should be advertising a remodeling price until the resort is redone, not charging over $300 a night at this time. They are trying to draw a young 20 something crowd and their choice of DJ's made this evident. No New Years Eve festivities

Review 7:Newly remodeled room was nice, location of resort was nice.

Review 8:The Tiki bar was closed for renovation, the other beach bar torn down. They had posted a flier of New Years activities, the day was great filled with beach fun but at night there was no band as promised, the raw bar wasn't serving food. Our room was clean and renovated but the outside not so great. Our patio leaked water from above the entire stay which made it impossible to sit on. The toilet was clogged for a day and a half( they did attempt to unclog but was temporary.

Review 9:The beach staff was great. Very clean beach.very helpful with activities. Nice that you could use the sister hotels amenities also.

Review 10:Rum runners bar torn down, Tiki bar under construction. Some buildings being rebuilt so maybe better once complete but paid price as if it was done.

Review 11:Private beach that surrounded pool was very nice best part of the resort. Free beach towels, kayaks and other water toys.

Review 12:Small rooms and under construction,no laundry on site and needs more vending machines.

Review 13:The area was ideal,Great weather, pet friendly, nice pool and beach.close to shops ,restaurants and fishing charters on site.

Review 14:All the rest. The place is dirty, the price is a joke and the staff, when you can find them, is a joke too. I really don't suggest to go to this place.

Review 15:To chill out on the bridge with my girlfriend in front of the sea.

Review 16:No area to jog or bike. No free breakfast.

Review 17:Nice looking, comfortable room. Near restaurants, boating and shopping. Kayaking and bike rental included.

Review 18:Exterior needs renovation. The hallway to room was dark and very utilitarian. Renovations, although in progress, were not as far along as we hoped they would be. There was no indication of work in process on the Tiki Bar. Our room (in Bldg 3) was small, basic and had a view of the parking lot.

Review 19:Location was great, the staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and looked to be recently renovated. Appetizers at Raw Bar were good.

Review 20:We stayed in a two bedroom cottage, it could use an update, I feel it was a little pricey for what we had. Also the sand went right up to the door.. There was sand everywhere, it was hard to keep it from getting in our beds. The sand is great but it would have been nice it there was a porch/deck with a little rinise off for at least your feet. The drinks at the bar are ridiculously expensive!!

Review 21:I loved that we walked out our door and there was the water and the wildlife. The three guys that worked in the activity hut were great! We tried all the water activities they had and they made sure we knew how to use everything and that we were safe, very helpful and friendly! The ladies did a wonderful job making sure the place was clean and we had whatever we needed, again very friendly!

Review 22:Read above

Review 23:Well they were renovating so it was torn apart , but my wife got bite a couple times from spider , we looked and the porch was dirty and had insect pods on the ceiling , we complain and staff were good about it !

Review 24:They play dance music in the afternoon and well in to the night. Probably better suited to play something quieter.

Review 25:Location - beautiful waterfront spot. Great views, drinks, and food. I'll be back.

Review 26:Just one small note. They could place more street lights in the parking lot. It was quite dark when we arrived. Couldnt see much.

Review 27:Liked everything in this nice resort. The room was superb. Spacious and clean. You can see that all rooms are very new. Have this nice balcony and nearby the private beach.

Review 28:Rooms. A little pricey. Lack of. Raw. Bar. Items. On site. Food. At reasonable. Prices. As well. Just. Because. You pay so much for a room. You shouldn't. Have to. Pay. 14$. For. A hamburger And 10$. For. A beer beautiful. Views. From. Ocean front room

Review 29:The staff. Very. Accommodating Location. To. Other resources. Was. Very. Nice. Grounds. Kept. Very. Neat. Room. Was. Cleaned. Every. Day. Of our. 5 days there. Bedding. Was. Very. Comfortable. Cold. A C. Plenty of. Hot water. Lots. Of activities. On site. Staff. Tried. To keep locals. From. Enjoying the property. Which. They. Did. Not pay. For

Review 30:Place was REALLY run down! Pillows were musty & moldy smelling. Facilities were needing MUCH repair! It used to be a good well maintained facility 10 years ago but NOT NOW!

Review 31:Location

Review 32:The whole feel of this resort was pretty poor from the moment we first arrived. It was massively overpriced for what you get. We stayed at some lovely places along the keys but this was well below par. The rooms are basic at best and we were given rooms right by the beach rentals desk so had no privacy. There was also loud music blasting out from the rentals counter so absolutely no chance of relaxing! We had paid extra for a beach view with lanai as a special treat- this consisted of a bare patch of concrete outside the door, nothing special about it! The place was awful so we ended up checking out and they were happy enough to give us a refund. Made us wonder if this was a common occurrence?

Review 33:They were doing refurbishment work so can only hope the resort improves as the location is superb but the current resort is very dissappointing

Review 34:killed a cockroach within 1st.hr.... water in sink backed up.... pipe leak from overhead outside door..door to bathroom jammed against vanity....floor filthy....not a single chair in room...furniture appears to be from the time of leave it to beaver...no info on facility such as laundry etc. orange extension cords hooked to lighting... this would rank as the worst room I have ever booked..room 214. discusting. I left a day early as not to sleep with cockroaches etc.i had the house keeper look and she basically showd no interest... what a discusting waste of time and money.and yes...the housekeeper did see the cockroach.i would use other language, but shame on you . simply pathetic.

Review 35:the ac worked

Review 36:All was great. I just wish the beach was with proper sand ..but that's no fault of the hotel.

Review 37:Excellent location, service, cleanliness in the room, the views as well. Even though we did not have a direct view of the beach being in building 2, still we had our little view of the bay which was perfect.

Review 38:The tiki bar was closed and it was a little quiet in the bar/restaurant onsite in the evening

Review 39:Lovely, big, clean room! Amazing view, get an oceanview room, it's worth it! Lovely pool area and lots of water activities

Review 40:With the wind many of the offerings for the resort fee was not available. There should be substitute offerings to help maintain the value of the resort fee.

Review 41:The rooms where very nice and the pool was heated so made the wind not so bad

Review 42:The only reason I booked this place was because of the historic tiki bars. We arrived and excitedly headed out to enjoy happy hour in one of them only to find they were both closed for renovation...they looked like a bomb had hit them! We decided to buy a drink from the pool bar where we were charged over $25 for 2 run runners in plastic cups. Due to the wind we were unable to use the watersport facilities (paddle boards etc) so essentially we paid a $25 per night resort fee for wifi. The staff were not nonchalant and the pools were dirty and cold. I wouldn't stay here again.

Review 43:The rooms were lovely having been recently renovated but that's about the only positive experience we had!

Review 44:Website says not pet friendly. Also called and told your jot pet friendly, but everyone had dogs and they weren't service dogs. Also guy breakfast server at shulas serves with attitude the whole dining experience

Review 45:Gregory at FD is great. Same with Jose by the pool. Room nicely kept. Raft out in the water so cool

Review 46:The beach.. The photos on your website are very deceiving! Very noisy due to construction

Review 47:Staff was friendly and very helpfull Beautiful sunrise Good activities for my teens Great food on Shula's restaurant

Review 48:The Tiki Bar was closed for renovation but we understand it is being remodeled.

Review 49:This place is awesome. Despite the renovation work it was clear that this is a prime location, and the work being completed is high quality. We can't wait to come back when all the renovation work is done.

Review 50:The fact I only booked 1 night, I should've booked 2! Will definitely be back.

Review 51:Lots of things to do, included with price. One of the best places I've ever stayed anywhere. Room, and grounds were very clean and comfortable. Would recommend this place and can't wait to go back

Review 52:Construction activities was our major issue as we were in Building 3 overlooking the parking lot and next to the demolition of an existing building....Also, we were not advised at time of booking that the TIKI Bar had been shut down for renovations.....which was part of our reason for going there.....The bed had a depression in it (room 337) and there was no table on the deck for convenience of having drinks and/snacks......The room safe was not working and required a battery (2 visits from staff).......Not having Happy Hour on the weekend was a disappointment.

Review 53:The property was well taken care of and the staff (office, pool and beach) were very friendly and helpful. The location in Islamorada was great for us as we were close to several restaurants in the area....The room was spacious and the bathroom newly renovated.

Review 54:I had first booked my stay over the computer , as soon as I had finished I called the resort to make sure that we could have a room that overlooks the ocean. The woman I spoke with assured me that we did intact have a room overlooking the water but when we arrived we only had a standard room. I explained to the woman at the front desk about our situation and she was not very attentive and pushed us toward the other woman at the desk. The second woman was very understanding and apoligized for the misunderstaing and gave us a room overlooking the water. Unfortunatly it was right above the boat docks and there were bloody towels upon the rooftop and it was very unpleasant - none the less we did not spent any time on Islamorada we decided to go to key west for our short visit. We defiantly will not be returning.

Review 55:the rooms were awful. Small, cheaply "refurbished" and over priced. Front of the buildings look like cell blocks. There was also construction going on. Tiki bar shut down, Raw Bar had kitchen problems so limited menu.

Review 56:nice location with pool, beach, etc.

Review 57:The main pool is oceanfront. Beautiful views while you swim either in the pool or ocean. Tiki bar available. Resort fee includes the use many resort amenities. The hotel is currently under renovation. It did not impede our enjoyment during our 2 day stay.

Review 58:Everything. The simple, rustic style rooms, the staff, the tiki bar, the live music, the beach, the pool, the water sports. EVERYTHING was fabulous. I will tell everyone to go!

Review 59:Due to the renovations, they moved the front desk. There were no signs directing you where to go. Very confusing. Check in was too late. I asked for a late check out and they said I could check out at noon. Then the morning person at the front desk said I couldn't. As the rooms were renovated. They forgot to buy new mattresses. They were horrible. Rooms were clean yet outside of buildings were dirty.

Review 60:The hotel will be nice once renovations are complete The staff that took care of the towels and water activities were very friendly As well as the bar. The front desk was friendly but I don't think they really knew what they are doing.

Review 61:We frequent both PCI locations and booked a small group for my husbands 40th. The others in the group paid less than we did for the room and had upgraded, larger rooms than we did. Our room had not been cleaned when we arrived, and had to wait an hour for housekeeping to "clean" the room with all of our stuff sitting on the balcony. And it was a very poor cleaning job on top of that, leaving the people before us' garbage, hair rubber bands, ice bucket water, and to go Chinese food behind.not appreciated Shower was clogged and grimy and bed was very old and sunk in. Very disappointed in this trip.

Review 62:Room smelled like patoilli - maybe from the staff. No rugs in room - floor was uncomfortable. Sink in bathroom didn't drain

Review 63:New room renovations parking was convenient after you went through the maze lot

Review 64:Only problem was with the sliding glass door to the balcony - the glass was shorter than the frame so mosquitos got in the room.

Review 65:Loved eveything about the resort!!!

Review 66:The room was good but the hallway was dirty and there were boarded up windows and broken doors. The hallways were tiled so every sound was amplified all night long.

Review 67:The room was nice and seemed recently updated.

Review 68:THe telephone in our room was not working. Had to call front desk from my cell phone to report barking dog on our floor. Front desk asked us to tell them to identify the room instead of sending someone over to our building. Later that evening we realized TV was not working either. Facililty is undergoing renovations that once finished will be improve the facility. The staff is courteous but unable to deal and resolve issues.

Review 69:Location - good access to beach and highway

Review 70:Noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Wedding DJ pounding the walls until past midnight. The next morning Haitians yelling at each other, running leaf blowers outside my window at 7:30am. Maybe I'm too old? And the $25 'Resort Fee' was ridiculous!

Review 71:There really was no nightlife at all. We were looking forward to some activities after dark and it seemed everything shut down early like before 9 which meant we had to go off the resort for some fun

Review 72:Great value for our money and most important it was exactly as advertised with no bad surprises

Review 73:Bathroom shower still needed a little updating, but the rest of the room was great and the ocean views were breathtaking!!

Review 74:The staff was amazingly accommodating and friendly.

Review 75:Its a party hotel. Very young people or "still young" people. Loud music until 1 am and some drunk people around.

Review 76:The view from the room. Directly to the atlantic ocean. The Restaurant for Burgers.

Review 77:Building work taking place which was quite noisy first thing in the morning. Also we were not aware that the Tiki Bar and Rum Runners bar would be closed.

Review 78:Beach location, friendliness of staff

Review 79:It isn't that I didn't like it, but I would like to note that while I know they are performing many renovations at the property, I hope that they will focus at some point on the exterior of the buildings. The look when you first pull in is disappointing - the place looks old and not kept up well. Once inside, you see a tremendous difference and you know they've worked hard.

Review 80:The staff at the property was wonderful. From the moment we checked in, until the moment we checked out. Especially wonderful was Anthony, who I believe may be a manager at the resort. He talked with my husband and I at length about upcoming renovations and more.

Review 81:hotel room bathroom had several pretty significant leaks that had steady water streaming from faucets. bathtub was in pretty bad condition

Review 82:friendly staff, great view, easy location to key's hot spots

Review 83:Our room was too far from the beach and amenities. I would have liked to have known that before and I would have requested a closer room to our friends.

Review 84:The updates in our room were done very well. The room was fresh, very clean and bathroom update was modern.

Review 85:Slapped us with a $25 resort fee because they have activities like a pool party, but when we got there, there was no party! Just people looking for a party. Plus if this is a resort, why do you allow pets? Our neighbors 3 doors down left their dogs alone & they barked for 2 hours before the front desk could find the owners.

Review 86:Rooms were beautiful & bed was comfortable.

Review 87:Our room was not in the main building and therefor not renovated. It desperately needed upgrade. It was very poor soundproofing. The room was connected to the next room by a door, and you could hear every conversation from the room next to us.

Review 88:Close to beach. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 89:Very deceptive advertising. It's nothing like whats pictured on thewebsite or the "Property Key" you're given @ check-in. Notonly is the Tiki Bar & Rum Runner closed "for renovation"but they've been closed for years - according to the locals. AndShula's - no ambiance and overpriced food.

Review 90:The location

Review 91:The water activities that are included in the resort fee make the whole trip worthwhile. We all had a great time, and enjoyed the fire pits and live music at night. Lunch at Shula's was delicious!

Review 92:It's not clear where the hotel entrance and lobby is! We walked around for a while before finding it! They key is to not stop at the first buildings and go through into the larger car park. Hotel reception is practically on the beach front.

Review 93:We ate at adjoined restaurant Shula's 2 which is superb. Bar staff at Tiki Bar were friendly Various watersports are included for free and the beach is exclusive to hotel residents Good price

Review 94:I did not enjoy the fact that the tiki bar was closed and all of the other bars/restaurants were not open either. The only thing open was the raw bar outside and when we arrived at a little after 8 the bartender seemed very interested in getting us to go somewhere else. We just wanted to have a few drinks by the water before bed and we felt very rushed to cash out.

Review 95:The room we had overlooked the marina and the view was tremendous. The size of the room was good as well.

Review 96:Water too hot. Shula's restaurant not that good.

Review 97:I was referred to your facility by Captain Charlie, Tiki Tiki boat, AKA Key Largo Adventures. He made our stay great by showing us the waters around.

Review 98:What I liked most was how friendly the staff was there was a man named Dave who gave us the low down on all the local stuff and good places to eat and see. We only stayed one night but are already makeing plans to go back next year!

Review 99:The room floor and rugs were extremely dirty and it was in the new building.

Review 100:The kayaks available. The Hotel manager Aymee was very nice and did try to make everything better.

Review 101:Our room was close to the elevator which was very loud in the middle of the night. The sofa bed was broken and our bathroom wasn't cleaned thoroughly. Also no wastebaskets in the kitchen area. We had to use the small wastebaskets in the bathroom. Another disappointment was that their tiki bar is under construction so there was no nightlife. We weren't told this at the time of booking.

Review 102:Our room was beautiful! Very spacious and the decor was nice.

Review 103:The room had 1970 windows that you heard EVERYTHING outside all night long! :( the bathroom needed serious repair and updating. Beds were okay. Decor was beautiful. The fact that you have to pay for everything & can't bring a cooler to the on site beach. Drinks are $20 a piece ouch!!!!

Review 104:The beach and grounds are beautiful. The on site water activities that are included in the $35 a day resort fee is wonderful!

Review 105:We were moved to the Pelican Cove Resort, a sister resort to the Postcard Inn, due to renovations. The Pelican Cove was fantastic!!!! We stayed 2 additional days and will go back!!!

Review 106:I was eaten by bugs and had a rash after spending less than 12 hours in the room. Could not understand the billing. Manager would not return calls. Staff was rude and lied to get out of dealing with additional issues.

Review 107:The location.

Review 108:Only had 2 small things I didn't like: 1. no room service - would make the place complete 2. Not enough choice of food on the grounds.

Review 109:Grounds were fun and nice. I like the free use of boats, snorkel equipment, paddle surf boards and bikes Staff was friendly and helpful for the most part.

Review 110:The price for our Saturday night stay was 2x the amount of Sunday and Monday night. Its how it is, but it would be nice if it wasn't so much.

Review 111:The property has 2 pools. 1 that no one really used. We had it to ourselves for most of our stay. Having Restaurants on property is a plus we didn't have to go anywhere for our meals if we didn't want to.

Review 112:in my 5 days of staying I could not swim at the beach, because it was full of weeds and no body did anything about it at least to clear the entrance to have an accest to it. thank you.

Review 113:the location ,the pool ,the fireplace at night and the comfortable location of my room.we love it. Will come back and recommended to my friends and my family.

Review 114:Tiki Bar was closed for renovations but the raw bar was open as well as the Pool bar.

Review 115:Setting was excellent. The pool area was great. Staff very friendly. We arrived at noon and pre-registered. Room was ready by 2 pm. Room had been recently renovated. Ground floor. Just walked out and we were on the beach. Free use of Kayaks, Paddleboards, Paddle boats and a daily Cornhole competition.

Review 116:I wish the on property bars would stay open later. I really wish we could have stayed at the pool bar longer.

Review 117:I love the fact that all of the water activities were located right on property.

Review 118:The guy at the tiki bar is over charging for drinks with a attitud horrible service, nasty drinks tiki bar is a good idea but the service is hoorrible and in a place where you supposed to relax you don't need this. Is like the guy had to argue with every custumer

Review 119:I like the beach set up with the pool is nice to relax the rooms were clean and the guy from water sport has a great attitude.

Review 120:Room had bugs, smells, service,no breakfast,no entertainment, most places closed down, not anything like it used to be.will never stay there again.

Review 121:Two employee were friendly

Review 122:walking up stairs with luggage, we were there in July, first part of the week and there was no band. Pretty dead for summertime. Tree house bar was closed. Kind of disappointed.

Review 123:Close to activities, water ,music and bar. Been here before and it was a fun and busy place.

Review 124:Maybe because it was off season, it was disappointing that rum runners was closed. The gift shop (going out of buiness sale) was misleading Finding out when we checked out that we could have gone to other properties as well. Litter late

Review 125:For the price it was great. People were friendly. Wish that someone had said that we could go to other properties. Would have been nice

Review 126:We were allocated a room in a block where there was construction. Staff were great, they did move us which was good - PCI should close a block until construction complete.

Review 127:Pools, location, service, food was great

Review 128:There was'nt any ice machines on floors

Review 129:Staff was excellent and the fact that though we book for the post card in we were sent to the sister facilities down the road pelican cove we were able to use both facilities

Review 130:I had purchased the king room with a view, and was given two double queens instead. The facility was still under renovation, which is great for the facility, but would have been nice to known that before staying there. The facility is boat friendly, yet when you come back from fishing you have a place to clean your fish but nowhere to cook it. Not one grill on the facility.

Review 131:The facility is nicely kept. Great views, and a lot of water activity options. The boat slips were great and easy to access. With perfect location to the sandbar and to the gulf side.

Review 132:uncomfortable bed, facilities being renovated,

Review 133:Great location, clean rooms, quiet atmosphere. Close to Key Largo, and a short trip to Marathon. Lots of nearby restaurants and activities.

Review 134:Rooms and some areas of the resort were worn. Just needs a little TLC

Review 135:Everything was convenient and the staff was always friendly. We like the location. Shula2 pricey but good

Review 136:We made a one night reservation. After arrival we told the guy in front desk that we wanted to add one more night, and he was okay with that. But in the second day, they just called me and said our room got sold and we had to leave or change to a $300 room which was too much for us. They ruined our vocation...

Review 137:The room is clean. Location is good.

Review 138:Restaurants in the area could have had higher standard, especially the Raw Bar situated by the ocean with excellent view but only selling fast food, having plastic glass, plastic forks and knives. The same food is served at the Tiki bar next door, which is a nice bar in the evenings. The Shula's steak and sport bar was ok food to decent prices. Bathroom was a bit poor since all water from the shower was all over the floor long after taking a shower. AC was vey loud and a bit disturbing when you should sleep.

Review 139:Great location, very nice beach and pool area next to the ocean and a lot of water activities included. Room is ok standard with a balcony and ocean front view right on the beach. WIFi included. Nice little harbor and diving/snorkeling center arranging nice trips to the reefs close by.

Review 140:Did not dislike anything. It was perfect.

Review 141:We got there and walked around and were blown away by the property andall it offers. Emily at the front desk got us an even better room andbecause of her great service and kindness we decided to stay one morenight but could not stay in the same room. The staff moved our stuff toa new room as we went out for breakfast. When we got back we got thekeys to the new room and...WOW!!! We had a corner room with wall to wallwindows, our own large patio and pretty much our own pool! Emily killedus with kindness and made our trip just that much more special! Theentire staff was great and the stay was perfect! Highly recommend thisplace for the value.- Gil and Laura. Chicago
