Review 2：Location next to the lake in the pretty town on Brienz. Easy access to the Jungfrau region, Ballenberg, and great views of the mountains and the lake. Super friendly staff went out of their way to make us welcome. Food is the best of Swiss cuisine. Spacious room with a view of the lake.

The staff spoke enough English and were very cheerful. Elevator on site. Breakfast and dinner were fabulous. They have an excellent chef!! Review 23：Very near both the boat and train stations in the middle of the small town. The rooms were large, the beds comfortable and the restaurant was the best we found in Brienz.
Review 24：Service in the restaurant was poor. It started well, until we received our main course, then it dropped off. It wasn't busy, but we had to chase the waitress to get the dessert menu and we were not asked if we wanted coffee. Then I had to chase again to pay. It left us feeling a bit hollow and let down, when it should have been a special treat for my wife. Needless to say we did not eat in the restaurant on the second night. You only get two sachets of shower gel, no shampoo or conditioner, which is not what I expect from hotel charging these prices. WiFi was sporadic at best.

Review 44：Brienz is a charming and peaceful town with stunning views across the lake. Hotel Steinbock is well located in the town centre with plenty of car parking, access to shops and short (5 min) walk to train station. We took an excellent day trip via train to see the Eiger mountain. Hotel is family run and very friendly. Our room whilst simply appointed was very clean and comfortable.

It has private parking site. The hotel has a restaurant on the ground floor which is popular in the town with good food.

Review 48：The whole area is a lake surrounded by snow covered Alps. Room 22 is actually on the 3rd floor and is the only room with a huge front private balcony looking over the beautiful lake and Alps. The whole area is very romantic and just what I was hoping for. The bed gave me the best nights sleep on the whole trip! The free breakfast buffet was usual for Europe. The parking in the rear was large and could also fit car/trailer combo if needed.

Review 54：Traditional stodgy food with enormous servings, very offputting. Also expensive for the large helpings. They did kindly wrap half my main course up and I had it for lunch the next day. My husband is Gluten intolerant and it is practically impossible to find anything on the menu without Gluten except steak and pomme frites with a salad. This is indicative of Swiss cuisine, fine dining is hard to find ! Would not return.
Review 55：This is more a large very busy restaurant with a few rooms above. The room was modern and spacious, double aspect with a large balcony with a lake view. The bathroom was good with a large shower with a pebble floor.All spotlessly clean. This was their top room and exactly as shown on the internet. We were there in cool wet weather and It was quiet with the windows shut. However, the room would otherwise be extremely noisy from the busy road and a gully with rushing water from the mountainside. Breakfast ok but lacked choice of fresh fruit.
Review 56：We were disappointed that our room did not overlook the lake. 'booking.com' should be careful ... the photos for the 'standard' room are the same as for the upgraded room and clearly show a balcony (which we did not have) and a lake view.

Review 65：The hotel is set just across the street from Lake Brienz and offers amazing views of the lake and its surrounding mountains. The restaurant on the ground floor is wonderful, too.
Review 66：We booked as the Booking.com said the room had a lake view and a balcony. This was incorrect as we were on the side of the hotel and had to lean out of the window to see the main lake. On checking with the management our room was a "Standard Double Room" and only the "Comfort Rooms" had balconies.

We spend one nice morning to walk around the beach of Brienz see and mountains, deep impression for the unbelieve nice view, it's recommended place for vacation!
Review 70：We came into the hotel restaurant 40 minutes before closing time and thewaitress was really unhappy to see us. And she let us know this clearlyby sighing and walking around angrily. She might have had a bad day orsomething, but we where a bit uncomfortable with this.
Review 71：The best hotel we ever visited. And we saw a lot of hotels. The room andthe entire hotel in general was beautiful. The room and the bathroomwhere very spacious. The design is modern, although it has a real swissfeeling to it. We felt like they thought about everything whiledesigning the hotel.The shower was really nice. The shower area is large and has special massage stones on the floor. It is only separated by a glass wall from the rest of the bathroom.
