Reviews for Sun Castle Resort

Review 1:The houes is not same as the picture on the website. The inside is very old fashioned. Need be repair and update.

Review 2:The location is excellent right on the beach with great view.

Review 3:Be careful about what you see in the pictures and what you actually get after you get there. Maybe some of there properties are better, I don't know, but the "villa" we got was nowhere close to $450 dollars a night. It was from 1950's with hall bath even older and like a cheap motel.

Review 4:Not bad, but the cook-out that was offered at The Inn at Erlowest on 08/31/15 could've had a bit more options.

Review 5:Loved the townhouse, little more updated from the one we had last year, no disappointments. Loved the view and amenities. We really enjoyed the kayaks!!!

Review 6:We have stayed in one of the condos twice. Both times there is no shower caddy in the master bedroom's bathroom. I don't understand why. You have to put the soap on the floor, which is nasty. Their doors are out of alignment, don't close. The front door doesn't really lock well. In our most recent trip last week, we stayed in a condo that was blocked by another condo and our view was not great. But we also booked in July so that could have been the reason we were stuck there. It is expensive, but you are getting an entire house to stay in.

Review 7:The condo is very clean.

Review 8:I wish they had more seating on the beach and hammocks on grass area.

Review 9:The view was spectacular. I liked that they had free kayaks- many to choose from. The service was great, any issue they came right away and the place was very clean. I also liked that you could book less than a week in the summer.

Review 10:Wifi was spotty which was annoying as my husband was trying to work remotely.

Review 11:The townhouse that we stayed in was very comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The view can't be beat!

Review 12:Place was very nice, beautiful scenery...... Close to the water..... Town home was great, had everything you would need.... Walls are very thin and we had a family next to us that we're extremely loud and inconsiderate... Stomping up and down steps and dragging chairs and Taking our chairs from our side of the deck and rude.... So that kind of ruined it a little for me.... Sleeping was difficult with noisy neighbors....... Would be great if the decks had separation...... I would prefer to be in a town home closer to the water since the hills are very steep.... But the place itself is great and clean ..... Location is wonderful.......

Review 13:Location of whole complex.....- Town home was lovely as were the grounds..........friendly staff

Review 14:The only complaint we had was the wifi was poor. Not a big deal except that many people, including us, rely on smartphones for locating restaurants, tourist sites, grocery stores etc.

Review 15:The view & location are phenomenal! A beautiful resort with exceptional accommodations. Our unit was spotless, well equipped and very comfortable. The decks were amazing and we spent most of our time out there.

Review 16:I wish they could have a small beach with chairs

Review 17:The townhouses are really good and spacious. The view from both balconies is good. Away from the highway so don't hear the cars

Review 18:Small glitches like TV remote that wouldn't work in Bedroom; Hair dryers in both baths were not working...one replaced promptly.

Review 19:location was perfect. Docking facilities on site made it easy for our boating day on the lake. Would definitely return!

Review 20:One of the main reasons I booked here was the huge Jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom. It overlooks the lake with a ton of jets. I brought a nice bottle of wine....ahhh. But there was the sign by the tub, " please do not use. We are working on the problem". We called the office and we were told the tubs all leak and they are working with the company that installed them. Obviously a on going problem. I felt we should have been told. There should be some notice on there web site or a little discount. There was also a power outage for maybe an hour, not sure why. If everything worked I would give it 5 stars. Oh well

Review 21:It was a very clean, comfortable and well furnished. The water views were beautiful. Very peaceful.

Review 22:Need a non stick frying pan in kitchen along with more coffee cups.

Review 23:Liked that it was quiet, away from downtown. Sleeps six comfortable and had all the bedding we needed. Plenty of towels and bathrooms were clean.

Review 24:No privacy on the Decks (they could use something as simple as an arbor to block direct view of neighbors. Wifi only worked on the Deck not inside.

Review 25:Townhouse was very nice and accommodating for our family. Waterfront is excellent.

Review 26:Wi-Fi was a bit slow...but not that big of a deal, when you have nature at your doorstep.

Review 27:First trip to Lake George, and it was a relaxing and fun experience. Looking forward to next year already!

Review 28:The outside facilities (pool, beach) were not that great. Need outside seating/chairs by the beach, on the lawn and by the lake to enjoy the beautiful location! BYO lawn chairs!

Review 29:Great location! The townhomes were very nice and clean and the staff was very accommodating.

Review 30:Loved that we could launch and dock our boat right at the resort. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Staff was very accomodating. Can't wait to go back!

Review 31:only minor issue was internet down ...

Review 32:lake views varandas infrastructure lake front with dock small private beach canoes and kayaks available everything ... it was fantastic ... we were able to get to know this place through a booking opportunity they usually take reservations for a full week ... we initially planned 2 days ... but ended up extending the stay due to the quality time we were able to spend.

Review 33:No cellphone reception. Which is good for some travelers.

Review 34:Fantastic resort. Clean and cozy. Free kayak and boats outside the resort. We were fishing and found more than 50 fishes in 2 days.

Review 35:They advertised a whirlpool tub which I was told was not working and could not be fixed. That should come off the website or the renter should be told in advance as that was disappointing. There was a huge , high rock at our dock space #4 which was not marked and ruined our boat prop upon putting the boat in the water. We had to take the boat out immediately and go to a boat service facility and get a brand new one to the cost of over $200. We were not expecting that and the rock should have been marked. Wi-fi and phone service practically non-exisitent from our townhome.

Review 36:The view! The townhome was lovely and clean and very comfortable. The amenities were great, including the kayaks, canoes and pool! We would love to come back. The staff was very nice and professional.

Review 37:Great view

Review 38:Beach area could be bigger.

Review 39:Great location, decks and size of the townhouse.

Review 40:Pull out couch was very uncomfortable.Reported it to front desk.

Review 41:I liked spending time with my family.Watching the big boats come through.

Review 42:Very clean and well kept facility and beautiful view

Review 43:Quiet and a lovely location, glad we were there in time to beat the season!

Review 44:Expensive on site restaurant.

Review 45:Fantastic location. Comfortable, well equipped accommodation. Great for breaks throughout the year.

Review 46:very plain

Review 47:location view

Review 48:Jacuzzi didnt work. There were a few light bulbs out and it was pretty dusty

Review 49:Location and the few

Review 50:Beautiful place, we enjoyed it very much! The house is clean and spacious!

Review 51:Beautiful townhouse with a nice view of the lake.

Review 52:Not much. Price, though we went In Season in August so the rates were competitive. No direct view of lake from the Carriage House. Note: nearly every other unit here has views, really nice views of Lake George.

Review 53:We rented the "carriage house" lower floor, for three days in August. We did it short notice and knew we'd have great weather. The Carriage house is large, but not on the water. There was so much space though that it was worth not being right on the water (we rented a boat and had jet skis so it we'd had enough by 4pm every day). There are two floors in the Carriage House, one is plenty for a family of 6. Extremely easy to launch jet skis or boat right from their own facilities, which was very convenient. Dock space cost extra but was in excellent condition and in working order. The pool is nice too, especially the slide is heavy duty and fun for kids of all ages (me, too, 46 yrs young and 230 lbs), though I'm more of a Lake swimmer, especially at Lake George. Location is superb, though I grew up in Bolton and know that area better, I really like seeing this part of the Lake--far enough from the riff-raft of the Village, near some other nice houses on the lake. And being slightly narrower, the waves aren't as bashing for the docks in the pm. Great stay, especially for a short notice trip. Look forward to staying again.

Review 54:Upon arrival, it is a bit difficult to find the check-in office, as the sign is to the side and not especially visible. In addition, the staff at check-in was business-like, but less than outgoing or friendly. That did not bother us though.

Review 55:The location of the Sun Castle Resort is superb. Our townhouse had a direct view of the lake from the balcony and many of the rooms. The resort also has a pool and a small lake-front beach. It was perfect for what we were looking for. The resort is located a few miles from Lake George Village, and it is thus early to go into town and back by car. The townhouse was very well appointed and clean. This was a great find for us.

Review 56:Nicely landscaped. Outside fireplace on patio.

Review 57:No basic supplies to make coffee and no breakfast available on site.

Review 58:Fully equipped townhouses with a great view of the lake.
