Reviews for Makai Club Resort

Review 1:We had the apartment downstairs so it was a little bit dark. Otherwise really nice.

Review 2:Nice, clean apartment and very friendly and helpful staff. We could store some luggage there while hiking for a couple of days.

Review 3:Outside carpeting on steps to room. Slight musty smell in room. Roosters keeping me up at night.

Review 4:Place was clean and lots of space. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Review 5:we did not use, but the pool is pretty small. anyways i do not see the reason of a pool at all with all the nice beaches around you. but if you like pools, just know that this one is pretty small.

Review 6:The staff was amazingly friendly and welcoming. we could rent beach chairs and umbrella and this made our beach visits even nicer. you can also rent snorcheling equipment for 6 usd a day or 20 per week if you wanna see some turtles in anini bay. The have some dvds (around 25) including many with relation to kauai (movies not documentaries) or hawaii in general.

Review 7:Bugs in room 601. Sheets were worn and.uncomfortable. Furniture and drape were dated and in need of upgrading. Strong chemical odor in room. Didn't know if it was cleaning solutions or insecticide.

Review 8:Location

Review 9:No breakfast

Review 10:Location, size of the apartment (which includes kitchen and laundry), activities provided by the hotel. There's a supermarket next to the resort (where you get discount) if you feel like cooking. The area is beautiful and the restaurants around are really good (specially Dolphin and its sushi). The island is very small and quiet, a true paradise Is highly recommended that you rent a car since is the easiest way to get around.

Review 11:Going home

Review 12:Everything!! They had everything you could need either to go to the beach, or stay in and play games. We love this place and won't stay anywhere else. We had a day where the adults went to the beach and the teen walked to the grocery for ice cream. I felt safe enough in the area for that to happen.

Review 13:3 teenagers in pool were very loud, smacking "noodles" against each other. Didn't appear to be guests. I left pool area due to loudness.

Review 14:Bathroom and laundry accessibility

Review 15:If you are staying on level 2 or 3 at a Multi level block please be conscious of the noise you are making and consider the people below you.

Review 16:The staff were great at check in. The room was clean. and comfortable. The whole area was beautiful.

Review 17:When we arrived I was told there would be a $5.25 daily service fee in addition to what I had already paid. The Pool was tiny, as was the jacuzzi. The cleaning service on Wednesday, replaced our bath towels and kitchen items, no new sheets!

Review 18:The condo was well worth the price for the week. Location was excellent for traveling the north coast of Kauai. You will however need a car to get to almost everywhere. The staff was very helpful, when our DVD didn't work. They replaced the unit.

Review 19:personally, in hindsight, I would have preferred to look for a place in Hanalei itself closer to the beautiful beach and surf there - but your mileage may vary, if you prefer something more quiet, or if you're into golf then this may be better for you. In any case it's right around the corner (10 min drive), so it's not a big deal.

Review 20:nice apartment with lots of privacy

Review 21:The lower level unit. Be sure to request a higher level unit when you book.

Review 22:When we arrived, late in the evening, we were given a unit at the ground level of a building which was like staying in a damp walkout basement. We asked to move and the next morning we were moved to unit 804. Up high, no damp smell, great view, WONDERFUL. Staff always friendly and helpful, location quiet, we loved it once we were moved.

Review 23:Nothing!

Review 24:Staff met every customer service expectation. Appreciated the cleanliness of room and grounds (have a shoes-off "policy" at my own home; ergo am respectful of same). Being from a hot/dry mainland area, LOVED having A/C! Appreciated the privacy AWA available support if needed. KUDOS!

Review 25:Nothing important.

Review 26:Air conditioning. Laundry inside our apartment. Very roomy. Near everything in Princeville. Nice kitchen. Well maintained property and pool. Comfortable and quiet. Responsive maintenance.

Review 27:finding our accommodation was very frustrating & confusing as we eere lost & not easily identifiable on our travellers voucher. the name on our voucher was that of the agents office & not the actual name of the accommodation hence not user friendly... not happy

Review 28:It only has one bed.

Review 29:The apartment is big

Review 30:Amazingly spacious

Review 31:Room felt like a basement, smelt mouldy and damp, wifi was slow.

Review 32:Eco friendly products, easy to find

Review 33:Nothing.

Review 34:Great stay, wish we could have stayed for longer. Thanks! Home away from home.

Review 35:Staff was cold Plastic smiles They seemed impatient angry Annoyed

Review 36:Location Roominess

Review 37:Linen was only changed the day before we left.

Review 38:Location, staff, and facilities were very nice.

Review 39:Steps to room.

Review 40:Recycling. Free coffee, cookies. Bch mats. Space.

Review 41:Too brief a stay, didn't use facilities.

Review 42:The A/C was wonderful as it was very humid during my brief stay.

Review 43:have to drive to beach

Review 44:The staff and unit space

Review 45:The resort, staff and accommodations were great.

Review 46:The room was very spacious and comfortable and it cost much less than a lot of other hotels in the area.

Review 47:Not beachfront, but its only .25 from the beach.

Review 48:It was great, nice resort, lots of gear to borrow from the reception for the beach.

Review 49:Staff was amazing.....

Review 50:No doors in one of the bathrooms, very strange

Review 51:Beautiful bedrooms, great kitchen, extremely spacious

Review 52:the incredible rooms, balconies and the closeness to everything. Loved jogging along the trails.

Review 53:Really uncomfortable sofa bed. No cleaning at all, even once mid-stay??No exchange on towels just because there was a very small washer in theroom. Pool was just okay, and check out time was way too early.

Review 54:Proximity to Hanalei Bay!

Review 55:I didn't like that while checking in to a place I was paying for I was being trying to be sold a time share. When told no, the service was no longer good.

Review 56:Each morning we discovered ant invasions in our bathrooms in the toilet and sink area. I had ants crawling all over me before I realized that the toilet itself was covered with hundreds of ants. They coated the walls around the toilet and also the ceiling. I ran to shower them off and was happy to see that the ants did not coat the shower stall. They did cover the ceiling over the sink and some were on my medicine bottles. I phoned and reported this ant invasion. No one phoned back and nothing was done. We were there three mornings and on all three mornings we had to kill ants as best we could in order to use the bathrooms.

Review 57:I loved the location, the scenery and the large size of our "condo." I did not know what to expect when I ordered two separate rooms for myself and my brother. But I was amazed to see that we had a small house with a dining room, laundry room, dressings and bath rooms, large bedrooms, a living room and lanai. The place was cool with nice furniture and a full kitchen.

Review 58:There were only 2 faults for us. Firstly the ceilings are paper thin and there was a young family upstais with 3 children. The 6 and 4 years olds ran u and down like baby elephants and it was quite disturbing. The second fault was the wild roosters whoch crowed at all hours through the night and kept us wake quite badly one night in particular. Desite this I would not hesitate to recommend it to other travellers. As I previously stated, you will need to have a car to get aroudn from this place.

Review 59:The Princeville Wyndam Makai Club stay was very good value for us as a couple at $149 per night for a self-contained unit with a good kitchen and laundry facilities. You do need to have a ar to get there with ease. Everything worked very well and the staff were very helpful upon check in and also later when we had some queries about the location of light switches in the unit!. The unit was located in Princeville, but it was inland and close to the golf areas. It was a 5 minute drive to the shops which was very convenient. It did not have any sea views, but it was only a 10 minute drive from sea views, and most of the hotels with sea views did not have beach access anyway and cost more than twice as much per night. The pool/spa/bbq area was lovely and well kept - used the pool, spa and bbq with satisfaction.

Review 60:It's totally auto-oriented, with stores and St. Regis hotel a couple ofmiles away.

Review 61:Our suite was a huge facility, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, etc.completely furnished -- lots of space for four people

Review 62:Sheets were pilly and comforter was scratchy.

Review 63:cozyness,close to things you could do.

Review 64:A bit noisy since 501 is just across the swimming pool.

Review 65:Very spacious, clean and comfortable.

Review 66:big, nice place.

Review 67:First room assigned had horrible mold smell. Requested and quicklyreceived a much cleaner and better room.

Review 68:Kitchen, laundry facilities.

Review 69:A kitchen and clothes washer/dryer was huge! Plenty of room foreveryone, comfortable and pleasantly decorated.

Review 70:third floor..no elevator

Review 71:close to our family

Review 72:It was all good.

Review 73:Very comfortable for the price. Well maintained.
