Reviews for Lakeside Inn and Casino
Review 1:Room is spacious. Nice restaurant with super nice staff and great service. After full day of skiing, the delicious $20 steak and lobster dinner was wonderful. My son loves their prime rib dinner.
Review 2:The people in the room next to me kept smoking pot and cigarettes in their rooms and it came under the connecting door or from somewhere. I called Security to report it.
Review 3:Nice room and casino. There for family activities.
Review 4:None
Review 5:Super friendly and helpful staff. We didn't have a fridge and microwave in our room so we went to the front desk and they put one in our room within 20 minutes. At the casino one of the cashiers helped us to get $30 off of our room because it was my boyfriends birthday. So we got an amazing deal! It's a cute small little hotel and casino plus super close to all the big casinos and attractions. The casino has two restaurants both of which are very good. Plus you get your first drink free at the casino. Overall a wonderful experience.
Review 6:The room wasn't ready for check in at 4 pm. We had to wait around and wait. She gave us 2 free drink coupons, but considering that drinks are complimentary when gambling that was not overwhelming. You can hear your neighbor even when the are speaking normally, not good. There is not a refrigerator or microwave so you have to eat out every meal and left overs go to waste. We would have saved tons of money if we could have reheated our food. Dinner service was just ok at The Timbers. My bf had to wait a long time for his entree. Other tables who sat down after us got there food first. He was not happy about that so they comped our drinks. I'm seeing a pattern here.
Review 7:I liked that it was pretty cheap relative to location. It did have a hot tub. Good bread and butter during dinner at The Timbers there.
Review 8:The majority of Americans are non smokers. Why would management allowing smoking in casinos where non smokers don't have a choice but to inhale second hand smoke. This tells me that the management is catering to the smoking segment of the population. Smokers have the option of going outside to smoke but non smokers are forced to inhale smoke even if they want to do a simple task like check into the hotel. Do you think this is a sensible policy?
Review 9:The room was nice
Review 10:They need to upgrade the TV to an HD flat screen, and bed linens to a down comforter. The complimentary toiletries need to be a better quality.
Review 11:I was in room 166. I had direct access through the glass slider to the pool and hot tub. The mattress was really comfortable, and I liked the non-down pillows.
Review 12:Family with 2 kids (10yrs old & 3yrs old) first time to South Lake Tahoe in winter. Room is clean. Location is good closed to Heavenly & Lake, small shopping town & food everywhere like Mc Donald , kfc, sushi bar, CVS, safe way,.....
Review 13:The television was horrible. I got a discount on the room for that price the TV reception should be Hi Def or at least viewable. The room was close 80 degrees. The people next door started fighting next door and I could hear everything through the walls. I have paid $30 for room that was better in Stateline.
Review 14:Location was great for skiing. The restaurant was reasonable.
Review 15:The food was awful. We checked in late, ordered a quesadilla, burger with fries, and loaded baked potatoes. Instead of the quesadilla, we received an egg omelette thing... We shared the potatoes and fries, the only things we could even look at. We should have made the drive to the nearest pizza place.
Review 16:Very close to a trail we were able to bring our dog to. Spectacular views.
Review 17:It was perfect for my last minute need! My brother was there having dinner. He had been on a road trip a d it started snowing - he was tired and I said I am booking you a room!! I live in New Mexico and don't see him Much so it was a nice gift to him!!!
Review 18:That the hotel was not attached to casino. The tv was old and not many stations.
Review 19:Rooms were clean and location was good. The restaurants were very good.
Review 20:Old, run down, in need of serious upgrade. ToOk forever to check in. About 20 minutes with only 2 people in front of me.
Review 21:The dealers in the poker room were very friendly and helpful. Made for a good time.
Review 22:I liked the closeness to major casinos and major shopping centers etc.. I liked the way they accommodated my requests. Comfortable room. I wish the shower head was better. great price value. They received me well upon arrival at front desk.
Review 23:The room was not ready til 5:30. Two hours past our check in time. The staff was not on the ball and they were cleaning other rooms while ours was undone. The help/mtce crew were dressed very sloppy & one of the cocktail waitress's was very rude.
Review 24:The bed was very comfortable and I like the small size of the facility. Less people. The Timbers restaurant was very nice except for the rancid tomatoes in my omelet.
Review 25:bbathtubs need to be unclogged.
Review 26:I stayed 3 days and decided to stay one more day. Got to different rooms. However, I noticed in both rooms that the bath tub (s) clogged up. Over all I had a great time and would recommend it to a friend
Review 27:Bathroom not redone very old smells moldy in tub. Astro turf on deck is smelly and old. The exterior is awful I am sure people decide not to stay based on exterior but the interior is better. They still need to do a lot of upgrading but it is conveniently located and great staff. Parking lot is not well kept.
Review 28:Inside of parlor room redone with new carpet, nice beds, flat screen tv. Staff excellent and responsive. Great location for event we were going to and to the clubs. Not quite walking distance in inclimate weather.
Review 29:The entry drive was being used by the staff as break location. They were sitting on milk crates staring at the people coming and going. It made this hotel seem low brow
Review 30:The bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean. The location was very fair
Review 31:For the price of the room the breakfast should have been included as well as a microwave and a refrigerator. The TV was probably 10 years old and had minimal channel
Review 32:Breakfast was excellent at the restaurant.
Review 33:I didn't win enough. Lol. No 3 card poker. Total bummer. I did most of my gambling at hard rock.
Review 34:We had a fantastic stay and the food at Latin soul was amazing and the staff there made out weekend fabulous!!!
Review 35:We booked late and took a 2 queen bed room when only 1 was needed. Our fault of course, but it would have been nice to have had breakfast coupons.
Review 36:The breakfasts that we paid for were delicious and you had good variety to choose from.
Review 37:Bed was supposed to be king was a queen and hard as a rock, very uncomfortable.
Review 38:Room had sliding door that opened into pool area with ️️sitting patio, comfortable chairs, free HBO on tv, easy access to casino and restaraunts.
Review 39:There was a lot made of the daily specials at the two restaurants, but when we actually dined at the restaurants the daily specials were not provided and when the staff was asked they didn't know (but they did find out).
Review 40:The staff from the front desk to the casino floor was really attentive and nice
Review 41:The rooms are old and tired they need to be upgraded with new carpet, beds, etc. Looks like the upgraded the casino and restaurants but not the rooms.
Review 42:Location is great you can jump on the new Bike path and get to two beaches easily. Nice clean pool and spa. The restaurant is good.
Review 43:Neighbors with kids shouting into the late night and starting early again the next day. Thank goodness we brought ear plugs. Room not as nice as the one we had last year in the building next to the pool.
Review 44:Great location, walking distance to Harveys, quiet, next to walking path to beach. Not fancy but clean and nice. Timbers restaurant was very good. Perfect for what we needed.
Review 45:Needs updating, pillows flat , need new ones. Other guests made visit miserable with their loud partying in their rooms until early morning. Not hotels fault but could be more aware and have their security guard make more rounds. Partying should be done in bar or casino.
Review 46:The Mexican restaurant , employees were friendly and helpful.
Review 47:Noise and Traffic from side streets. Condition of roads in the parking lot and the stairways to the 2 floor.
Review 48:Restaurant and house keeping staff are doing an outstanding job.
Review 49:We did not have any bad experiences.
Review 50:Our room was convenient to pool area, beds and pillows comfortable, very quiet and Lakeside Inn provided easy access to,locations area has to offer!
Review 51:I don't like the mattress and pillows those were uncomfortable and guess they have a cover parking.
Review 52:I liked how clean it's the room and fast for check in and check outtoo.
Review 53:Didn't know, and should have asked, if we could use the pool that was adjacent to this hotel. Could use a more updated tv. No smoking in the casino.
Review 54:We liked it better than a big hotel. It was nice and quiet, no elevators running all nite long and no guests lvg. at all times.
Review 55:Our dinner at Timbers.it was about 8:30 p.m.Service very poor.We were seated in the bar and forgotten about. Bread and meal came late. No one checked on us. Didn't care for steak and shrimp. Once we ate I had to go to the hostess area to tell her we were ready to pay.
Review 56:Great breakfast.
Review 57:I did not like that there is no microwave or refrigerator in the rooms. There was an issue with the shower water turning super hot and then cold while showering. The WiFi signal did not reach our room.
Review 58:I enjoyed my stay in just about every aspect. The staff was awesome and the rooms were very nice and clean. It was overall an almost perfect experience.
Review 59:Didn't really enjoy the mattress springs popping in my back. Slept horrible. Will not be back. Booked last minute, my original choice was appearantly overbooked. Not the greatest experience as a first time booking.com customer.
Review 60:Ummmm
Review 61:The entry door was very hard to open. Key would indicate it was open but getting in took multiple tries. The bathtub drain was very slow.
Review 62:The staff in the was very good for the most part.
Review 63:The room we were in was very clean. Very restful, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Food in the restaurant was excellent, and prices were well within our range since we are a retired couple.
Review 64:When we got our rooms we happen to. Notice the windows unlocked and we didn't get the king size beds requested. And would be nice with a mini fridge
Review 65:There was no deadbolt so 16 month old grandson kept opening room door. Booking.com incorrectly listed cribs available upon request and there are none.
Review 66:Location great! Staff friendly. Easy, short walk to main casino and restaraunts within hotel.
Review 67:Room 157 has fleas , we both have been bitten and the beds are hard and very uncomfortablel.needless to say that it was aur first and last time in staying overnight.
Review 68:The casino slots were tight.
Review 69:Our first time staying here, won't be the last! We totally enjoyed it. The staff were so friendly. The food was great, especially the steak & lobster for $19.99! Can't wait to go back.
Review 70:They need to get flat screen tv's in the rooms I will not stay here again until they upgrade TV Also the reception of tv was poor.
Review 71:Nice old school lodge atmosphere
Review 72:Wi fi signal wasn't so good. No complimentary breakfast. Bed springs seems to be poor... I could feel them while sleeping.
Review 73:Sierra-at-Tahoe complimentary shuttle bus and free parking.
Review 74:The hotel room totally reeked like an ash tray and the shower was like standing under a garden hose. Other than that, great place....the friendly staff and dealers really saved the day. We would stay again if our room was non smoking.
Review 75:The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The dealers were our favorite, very social, informative, and made us want to stay as well as come back. It was nice to have the hot tub and free parking/wifi. The restaurant was an incredible value. Impressed.
Review 76:The lighting in the bath area was very poor. They have track lightinghighlighting their paintings but poor lighting in vanity area. Norefrigerator or microwave in room, for the price they should haveincluded those. The food in the restaurant was over priced and notthat good.
Review 77:The location was good, bed was comfortable and room was clean. Mybooking price was worth the room but my extra night that I had to payfor was way too expensive for the room.
Review 78:Price i paid was a bit high for just a two night stay but was also better than the surrounding hotels.
Review 79:clean, comfortable and quiet room. Our sliding door lead to our own little patio. Hotel room, restaurants, and pools were all clean and enjoyable. It was right down the street from everything and also off the main strip so not a lot of street noise.
Review 80:This didn't bother us but some light sleepers might be annoyed by the big trucks that come clunking through the parking lot early every morning (we were in the Marla Bay Building). But we understand that food and beverage deliveries have to happen every day as well as linen carts being pulled and moved about the area. If you're fussy about this sort of thing, you might want to find another part of the hotel away from the main back parking lot. For us, it wasn't an issue.
Review 81:The rooms were very clean and comfortable for the great price we paid. Location was excellent for us as our son and family live only a quarter mile way! Meals were great...especially the $5 breakfast specials! All the wait and hotel staff were helpful and friendly. We requested a fridge and got it in moments. We requested and received some extra blankets and pillows to make a floor bed for our little granddaughter. We enjoyed the pool and jacquzzi several times during our six days there. Casino was fun as always. Great stay!
Review 82:We felt the room temperaature was rather cold and we were unable to adjust it but the colder temperature made for a great night sleep.
Review 83:My granddaughter and I enjoyed the room decor and the comfortable beds. We especially liked the in-house restaurant for breakfast, some unusual choices!
Review 84:Meals were reasonably priced & excellent-highly recommended--air conditioning in the room was quiet & very efficient-no hidden fees when checking in- great value for the money
Review 85:the walk from the hotel room to the casino.
Review 86:it is conveniently located near the ski resort and the food was great and priced reasonably

Review 88:Location. On site restaurant.
Review 89:Bath tub clogged when showering. A little outdated overall.
Review 90:Located in great area fr our trip.Timbers restaurant was great.
Review 91:Location to the Tahoe/Reno bus. Room was fine - nothing fancy. Value was great for our last minute need.
Review 92:Out dated bathroom, new carpet needed inguest room
