Reviews for Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront

Review 1:The drink machines on my floor didn't work, had to visit another floor and it only had water - and was only taking cards.

Review 2:Staff was very friendly and helpful, location was beautiful! Loved it!

Review 3:When we checked in the woman behind the counter gave us a key for the rooms and a parking key. The parking key didn't work. We had to take a paper one. We went back and we were not the only one, the girl laughed and handed us the proper key. Parking isn't that close. It was almost like we did something wrong. I did not like that.

Review 4:The pool the atmosphere was nice. Conviently located. Awesome view of the harbor.

Review 5:I reserved a king deluxe room when I checked in I was assigned a king with two queen beds. I was given a king deluxe handicap room. If room was not available I should have been notified

Review 6:Staff was cordial and helpful

Review 7:Toilets are way too low. I have bad knees and back. It was difficult to get up and down. Housekeeping did not clean room until we call and asked if housekeeping worked on Sunday.

Review 8:Friendly and courteous staff. The bell boys and valets were wonderful.

Review 9:I reserved a king bed room but all they had were double queen bed rooms when we arrived. It was a special get away for my husband and I so that was a little disappointing.

Review 10:They staff was very attentive and the view was beautiful!

Review 11:The service at the sports bar was extremely bad! $4.00 for a bottle of water in the room was something akin to price gouging and the vending machine wouldn't take bills and the card scanner was inoperable.

Review 12:Nice room and the lady who checked us in was very helpful. Room was fine and the shuttle service to the concert we were attending was great!

Review 13:see comment with what I liked. Also, too prices breakfast menu because we do not eat that much and they did not have a senior menu.

Review 14:room very nice but the guy out front (I guess a doorman) was loud and fusses because our shuttle lady let us out in front because we both had to use walkers. He hollared at her for " blocking the doorway" I felt so sorry for her !

Review 15:Breakfast server was a little bit stretched so things requested were slow in arrival to the table and took a couple of re asks !

Review 16:Rooms were very modern and nice. View over the river was lovely and the hotel was very clean, staff very friendly and the location was good

Review 17:The experience was so unexpectedly bad that I actually made a list. There was no food or drink at the pool in the middle of the day even though signs on the elevator said they were serving from 12 to 7; there was no food or drink in the lobby when I arrived hungry and thirsty at 3 o'clock; I was told that in order to get food I'd have to leave the hotel and walk two blocks to the nearest place;there was no spa, no nail salon; no robe & slippers. The pool area was stark and unfriendly; the halls were like an inexpensive Holiday Inn; there was no sign or number out front when you drive up so I actually had to ask the valet if it was the Hyatt; the registration was at the far end of the lobby from the entryway; the view was ghastly (barren gravel roof); the car valet was very slow and understaffed; couldn't stop the air conditioning from blowing on my face in bed, couldn't turn it off and couldn't adjust the temperature - it was way too cold. The elevators seem to not be working for the most part. I eventually took the steps down because too many people were trying to go on one elevator all at the same time. This is not the experience I would expect from a Hyatt Regency. An investment of time and money and amenities could make to this location a real find for the weary traveler. As it is, it's an extreme disappointment

Review 18:The staff on the first floor of the building did smile and welcome a lot.

Review 19:The booking said "two queen beds" but they were definitely full size. The pool area was nice but could use some updating.

Review 20:Very nice hotel! Super convenient downtown location. Rooms were very clean. The river view was really cool!

Review 21:Internet was unusable

Review 22:Wonderful experience...courteous staff, beautiful facilities, great breakfast...gorgeous view...Will definitely be returning to room #744!

Review 23:Loved the location, the friendliest staff, very professional, accommodating, parking was awesome, Food at the Bar was excellent as well! We were there for the Jagz vs Lions Game! Bar very accommodating for our little Lions Fan Hangout! Will come again, will recommend! Very Nycely Done! Eric Blanks

Review 24:The television in the room seemed small. During the morning breakfast hours there was a long line for an omelet. I felt like there should be an additional station for omelets.

Review 25:All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was perfect. The pool was very clean and just the right temperature.

Review 26:I didnt like the foreigners or the variety of channels offered. I'm not prejudice but it was difficult to understand the language of the receptionist and vice versa. I was told that I was given certain deals and a list of other things but what we were given were the total opposite of what was promised. However, overall the good absolutely outweighed the bad.

Review 27:I loved the look, cleanliness and comfort of the overall facility. I ordered room service and the food was very delicious. I will definitely order from them again.

Review 28:Only frustrating thing was parking garage

Review 29:Great location along the River, we have made this a tradition to stay here the last few years for July 4th fireworks.

Review 30:Not really any cons. For some reason I thought the balcony would be bigger but it wasn't. Just a sliding glass door and a railing. Great view though!

Review 31:My wife and I really had fun for the short time we were there. Went to dinner late and didn't check in until 11pm. It was her birthday and I had reserved a king bed with the river view for around $200. When I checked in the lady at front desk informed me there were no kings left and two queens was all they had. She knew I wasn't too pleased hearing that so she offered to comp $20 valet parking and gave us a $100 in credit for anywhere in the hotel. That was very nice of them and extremely accomodating. Breakfast buffet was outstanding! Thanks again Hyatt! We'll definitely be back.

Review 32:The room was nasty. The carpet so dirty you could see the dirt in the shower when you stepped in. The carpet was atrocious. The water was turned off at 8am to noon during a large conference. Certainly not worth the 180.00 a night price. Could have stayed at a 39.00 a night place and had a better, cleaner room. To top it off they attempted to double charge my credit card. Worst place I have ever paid to stay at.

Review 33:Nothing

Review 34:It took almost two hours to get our rooms. Once we got our rooms, we were never told renovations were going on daily from 8am-7pm so the noise was ridiculous

Review 35:I could take my pet

Review 36:Friends and I had plans to leisure by pool in the afternoon and then attend concert in the evening. The rooftop pool was closed which we didn't learn until arrival. We were out after the concert and didn't go to bed until 4am. We were awakened by construction noise around 8am.

Review 37:Facilities were very clean. Location excellent for walking about downtown Jax. There were several restaurants and bars on site.

Review 38:No small refrigerator in the room. It need some update remodeling. The carpet in the hallway was nasty with stains all over it.

Review 39:I love the river view in my room The customer service was excellent.

Review 40:Furniture was very old and in poor condition, bathroom door needs oiling, squeaked terribly. Restaurants only opened at five, had requested early check in and had confirmed two days before but was not given room key until after three, as I stood soaking wet in lobby having been caught in storm. Too expensive for the room, needs serious updating.

Review 41:The location

Review 42:City view room was roof top view. 4 th floor was not as clean as one would think for being on a Hyatt property. Weather shortened trip and was still charged for extra note I couldn't stay.

Review 43:Location

Review 44:Water pressure was HORRIBLE. Gift shop needs to carry sunscreen & aloe! Waterbottle in rooms is NOT worth $4!

Review 45:close enough to walb up to fl theater & all along riverfront.

Review 46:Food options limited. Sports bar was small but good food. Only restaurant was pricey. But only a short walk to the Landing for food options and entertainment.

Review 47:Rooms very clean and large and beds were comfy. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Walking in area safe and wide open by river. The Landing had great bars and restaurants and shopping close to hotel.

Review 48:I pre paid for my room and later found out that my group received a lower rate. I called the hotel and they were unwilling to cover the difference. I will never stay with you again..

Review 49:I fell in the shower, slipped and broke the soap holder, had some serious cuts, two needing 38 stitches. Upon arriving back to the hotel the housekeeping manager called me and told me they were charging me 150 to clean my room cause of the blood. I explained the situation but he was very standoffish. Anyway I requested a manager and Bobby Miller arrived and we talked and he took off the charge. Anyway, the rooms lack luster for the price and river view was lackluster.

Review 50:The furniture in my room was old and outdated.. The shower head did not work well.

Review 51:The food was great, the staff was friendly. the bed was comfortable, the room was very clean.

Review 52:Every person on staff acknowledges your presence and asks about your needs at all times. There was a convention meeting there, the NCAA basketball tournament was in town, and a big concert going on, and the staff acted like it was business as usual. I have worked in the business, and this is the best staff I have ever seen.

Review 53:Price was a little high but the river run & elton john were in town so that could have been the reason

Review 54:Hotel had very friendly staff. Excellent location and Proudly Served Starbucks :) Did not have breakfast but the buffet items we saw looked fresh

Review 55:room was hot on arrival since our a/c wasn't working. They did fix it pretty quickly when we left for dinner. Room was pricey and had to pay $15 to park in their garage.

Review 56:We had a nice quick trip. great location with everything we needed to do in walking distance.

Review 57:the "deluxe room" was pathetic. $258 for a classic shotgun style hotel room. I checked out early and found another hotel. Staff was great but HIGHLY over priced u pay for the name. Serious upgrade charges at the desk as well. Oh so not happy. I seriously want my money back I feel like I was lied to but I stayed their the night but after 7hrs on the road I jus wanted to shower and eat. U shld make hotels give u a layout of rooms to show customers and we shld be able to publish actual pictures. This was a shame

Review 58:I know you all don't control the gift shop, but when you compare your staff to theirs it was painful to have to go in there to buy somethings, find a new vendor or take it over with your staff.

Review 59:From the moment I checked in; to the final exit the entire stay was amazing primarily do to the efforts of the staff, Thank you Donna For the amazing job.. you all should give her a raise. in fact give the entire staff a raise, the worked very hard and ensured i had no troubles during my stay.

Review 60:Did not have a bad experience. However, the steps from the parking garage into the building were a bit of a pain without a ramp for rolling luggage. A hotel of this stature could afford to put a ramp in, so you do not have to luge heavy suitcases up the steps. Also charging me for both parking and Wifi was a bit ridiculous, as well.

Review 61:Cleaniness and the views of the river and the city.

Review 62:Nothing particularly bad to write home about but rather average for the price.

Review 63:I had a strange and unexpected experience on the first night, almost out of body, but definitely the highlight of the stay.

Review 64:- security is not good. The hotel can be accessed through many entrances that have no security guards or any secure doors! A homeless guy entered the hotel in front of me and got into an elevator then disappeared! - so many homeless people in front of the hotel on the river walk

Review 65:- The hotel is very good, the river in front of it is great - don't miss a quick Jacksonville water taxi trip!

Review 66:Hotel needs a facelift, updates, etc. It can use new carpeting, curtains, furniture, etc.

Review 67:An central location for business in Jacksonville. The hospitality from check-in to check- out was excellent. The staff is to be commended. Everyone from Valet, reception, housekeeping to security were courteous and attentive to the needs of the guest.

Review 68:The pillows were a bit too mushy for our taste and we thought the food onsite was a bit over priced. However, the restaurants nearby had AMAZING food!

Review 69:We came to go to the TaxSlayer Bowl. It was right near everything we wanted to do. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We ate in the hotel to watch the games the night before and they had huge big screens set up for us all to enjoy.

Review 70:There is no indoor pool.

Review 71:The staff was very gently and very helpful...The food was excellent... The fireworks in front of the hotel for the New Year was amazing, perfect...we recommend

Review 72:Now for the negatives. First cost of parking very expensive.Weekends we had 2 men involved with moving bags from car to room.My understanding from staff is that only the bellman does this job. On this day the doorman got involved by moving it from car to entrance of building, only feet away then bellman took it from there to the room. What was the point of this??My thought is for You to pay more tips. Not cool! No refrigerator for room, additional cost of $25.Lastly,My hubby &i stay up very late. The temperature of water is barely lukewarm from about 2-7a.

Review 73:Location,view,location,view!!!! I upgraded on site to a view of St. John's River. I also liked the quietness of the facility on the weekends.Peaceful,We were not disturbed while sleeping by cleaning staff.

Review 74:Service was a bit slow in restaurant, and there were not a lot of healthy vegetarian choices.

Review 75:The hotel is beautiful, and quite grand. Service was excellent, and everyone was very helpful and friendly. Our room was large and immaculate, with a nice view of the river.

Review 76:They gouge you on the price of food. The $19 buffet is a rip off. The quality of food was not that great. It's breakfast for crying out loud! I asked the staff where there might be a local coffee/diner shop they said you would have to walk 2 miles across the bridge. We didn't believe him so we walked a block and found a little cafe and breakfast for 4 for about the same price as the over priced buffet at the Hyatt.

Review 77:room was nice, clean, and comfortable

Review 78:Water took a while to get hot. Two of the restaurants were near the entrance and the winter air oft found its home there. Valet parking was $20 a night, given the location paid parking was a given. This where I was given to write about my dislikes, I disliked the $20 parking fee.

Review 79:The location was amazing! The view (water side) was great day or night. Customer service was good. Ability to eat at any time. Valet parking.

Review 80:Room 601. I know this sounds crazy, but my friend and I both felt like there was a presence in the room. I don't believe in that stuff, but staying in 601 might have changed my mind.

Review 81:Great location. Great staff

Review 82:Average decor, expected more from Hyatt. Carpet water stained and dirty. Our parking pass didn't work had to go back to reception to have it fixed.

Review 83:Most of the staff friendly and helpful.

Review 84:The confusion with my reservation it was mixed up with another guest and I had difficulties checking in. Once the problem was fixed, I left my room for dinner came back and my key wouldn't work because they really didn't fix the problem. We were given a free breakfast for our inconvience, but I still had a bad taste in my mouth. I will not stay there in the future.

Review 85:There was nothing that we didn't like! We can't wait to visit again!

Review 86:Your staff! My daughter and I were there for the Garth Concert. It was a part of my husbands' and my graduation present to her! She graduates from GSU in December!

Review 87:The surrounding area didn't have a lot going on during the weekend I was there & most restaurants were only open during weekdays. Jacksonville Landing was a nice area, but not in itself an attraction.

Review 88:The room was a good size & was updated nicely. The pool with the bar & view was nice. Went to attend a concet at the Arena, so the hotel was in a good location for that purpose.

Review 89:I asked if there was a water front instead of a city view room. I was immediately accommodated but was not told there was an upcharge. I am often upgraded without a charge so I thought I should have been notified prior to paying $100/night extra.

Review 90:I guy named Alex that worked the Omelet station. He not only made one of the best omelets I have ever had but he was efficient, courteous and provided great conversation while he cooked. Please recognize Alex for a job well done.

Review 91:I thought the condition of the room was not up to Hyatt standard, especially when I consider the room rate being charged. It was a handicap room and the shower head, besides being broken, was something I would expect to find at a motel. The bathroom counter was chipped. Overall room needed general upkeep and updating.

Review 92:Location was great for UF/UGA Game. Staff do a great job with all the masses of people. Everyone was reasonably friendly considering the business volumes.

Review 93:The rooms were smaller than expected and no fridge. But getting out was what it was all about.

Review 94:The staff provided above and beyond service. Tiana customer service and Tony and Bryan concierge service went out there way to make my birthday and stay at the Hyatt remarkable! Thank you and I will see you again.

Review 95:Breakfast was just to expensive, sat down and couldn't make myself order.

Review 96:Building was great, treated really well by staff and loved the fact that restraunts were open after the concert. the Nachos were best I have ever had.

Review 97:The facility was not up to Hyatt standards. When we arrived, the parking garage had a "full" sign out front, but we learned later that it was only full to non-guests. Also, our bed did not come with a fitted sheet, which made it uncomfortable to sleep as we thought we would accidentally end up sleeping directly on the mattress (eww!).

Review 98:The location was excellent! Right next to the Landing, a place with restaurants, bars and live music on the weekends. Attended for a Jaguars game and walked only 20 mins to the stadium. Very convenient!

Review 99:I can't believe you did not have FREE wifi in your rooms. I have stayed at hotels at a much much lower rate and had free internet in our room. I will not stay at your Hyatt again because of this.

Review 100:Cost of breakfast buffet was to much for what they offered. Food was over cooked, Omelet station was good.

Review 101:Staff was attentive, fast check in. Room was clean. And they were pets all over, maybe next time mine will go with me. Enjoyable stay

Review 102:Was upgraded to a room ,that they charged me $70.00 more for then the reserved price from BOOKING.COM I was held up a check out and had to prove I had a BOOKING.COM reservation for price I was quoted. Treated me like a liar even though the were given a copy of my reservation from BOOKING.COM upon check in.

Review 103:Location to Arena

Review 104:The room was dirty and they don't even have a refrigerator or a microwave. Thereal was a half full bottle of coke behind the curtains that was missed the whole time and dust blanketed a lot of things. For 140 a night I expected better...

Review 105:The location was good for the game.

Review 106:Didn't like that so many of the front desk clerks did not speak clear English. It was very hard to understand some of them.

Review 107:We loved the location. It was close to the concert venue. The price of everything was very reasonable. We definitely enjoyed our stay. The food in the restaurant was also good.

Review 108:The price :-( But a very nice hotel

Review 109:We loved our view, staff was very friendly. Have already recommended this hotel to friends and family. We will be back

Review 110:Great location for football game. Sports bar was awesome, great service, drinks and food. Was pleasantly offered an upgrade to a mini suite at same price at check in.

Review 111:What's not to like!

Review 112:Arrival, valet parking, check in we're all great. My room was superb, high attention to detail. The bathroom was spotless with everything you'd exoect and a little more! A great night sleep followed by an excellent breakfast. Thank you Hyatt Regency

Review 113:The downside was they charge 14.95 a day for internet $20 a day for Valle parking or $15 a day for garage parking for the money you pay for the room some of this should be included for free

Review 114:Room was nice slept awesome the pool on the roof was so nice the view was amazing they also have a gym the hot tub was also on the roof

Review 115:Used dental floss on towel rack, spots on towels. Room smelled like something burnt. Extra charge for internet. Was not what we expected from an Hyatt!

Review 116:Close to stadium

Review 117:My room was outdated, looked like last remodel was probably in the early 90s. The bed was way more firm than I prefer. The towels must have been new and needed a few more washes, they left fuzz all over me which was very annoying.

Review 118:The staff was excellent and the food at Trellises was good. The property is located right on the river walk which was very clean and well maintained.

Review 119:In addition to a fairly expensive room, then having to pay extra for wi-fi was a bit rich.

Review 120:Location was excellent. The staff very friendly, courteous and helpful. Great breakfast buffet.

Review 121:No free wi-Fi unless you enroll in a FREE membership. Just make the Wi-Fi free then. $4.00 water bottle seal was cracked, but was still full...not really bad, just wierd Parking 15.00 a day for hotel guests? Would be nice to have a mini fridge. $19.00 for the breakfast buffet? It was free with my room, but still. I have been to other hotels with more expansive selections that were not as pricey.

Review 122:Great room. Nice view of the river. Great location within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions. Mei at the front desk was very helpful. Comfy beds. I did not have to pay $19.00 for the breakfast buffet. LOL. Very good food! I really enjoyed the stay at this hotel and the every staff member I saw was amazing and asking if we needed anything. I would definitely visit again.

Review 123:We often stay at Hyatt downtown. Decided to stay here on our wedding night even though our family was staying at the renovated homewood suites because we like the room we get. We listed it was for our honeymoon and wanted a riverview. Ended up on the catering side of the hotel where all the ballrooms were, had a room that felt like an office, no refrigerator for our wedding couples food, and there were ants. We have never been put over in this area and I can only assume it had to do with booking thru booking.com because we usually call to make the reservation. I would highly recommend calling the hotel for special occasions b/c you get it for the same price.

Review 124:The guest services forgot to call and make my reservation at a restaurant. I was surprised to have to pay for parking for the hotel... The hotel has no control over it but I was surprised how run down some of the surrounding area was and all of the begging on the streets.

Review 125:If you want to be on the river front, this was definitely the best choice. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 126:The facilities in general look a little run down, could use a renovation.

Review 127:We found the hotel to be very quiet at night and we were able to get a good night's sleep. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Review 128:The water had a weird taste at the pool and in the rooms. We had to actually use the bottle water

Review 129:Loved the room. The comfort and the staff was friendly...

Review 130:Pool and hit tub were closed for maintenance, we weren't told when booking or at checkin. Have back injuries, after getting in later that night, we put swimsuits on and went up to relax...all locked up with sign on door, very disappointed!

Review 131:Location to Everbank Field where attending concert

Review 132:During the fireworks for 4th of July we could not find any parking in the garage that we had already paid for as a guest at the hotel.

Review 133:The staff was incredibly inviting and on top of there game. The room and view was BEAUTIFUL! We will definitely be coming back !

Review 134:I a hotel of this quality, was not pleased that the water in the room came with a hefty price tag. I hate the nickle and dime approach towards guests who stay with these hotels.

Review 135:Being right on the river front and in the center of the city activities. Warm friendly staff that bent over backwards to accommodate our needs. What else could their be? Yes the well appointed rooms and comfortable beds sums it all up.

Review 136:They tell you the Riverfront is busy with things to do,when really the Landing area is a bust because of all the closed businesses

Review 137:The staff was very helpful, and the Breakfast was wonderful

Review 138:First check-in person was a trainee - nervous, unfriendly, and assigned us room on smoking floor. We went back and was given another room - that first person said was not available.

Review 139:Friendly staff.

Review 140:We made reservations but they went up on the price once we arrived. We also had to pay $15 a night to park when we could have parked on the streets for free. The bed linen was not changed while we were there.

Review 141:The hotel was nice and clean. The people was awesome.
