Reviews for The Vineyard on Ballito
Review 1:The Vineyard on Ballito is a well run professional guesthouse . I would venture to say that it is a rather excellent boutique hotel ! The management team and staff headed up by the two twin sisters Desiree and Lynell are a formidable team who run the establishment like clockwork. Our room was cleaned and made up while were enjoying the wonderful breakfast . What a pleasure to return to a lovely fresh , clean made - up room! The breakfasts were divine every day , with all fruit and baked items freshly prepared daily. A different dish was offered each day in a very flexible and personal manner , catering to special needs as required . Best of all was the freshly baked cakes which were found on our return from a hot day at the beach , which I really enjoyed with a cup of tea! The facilities are beautiful , the garden and pool area is stunning and very well maintained . The rooms were very private and quiet despite us being there during peak season, with the hotel being booked up solidly for the week . I would recommend The Vineyard on Ballito to anyone as a superb break away venue with excellent service and facilities!
Review 2:The people could have helped carry our luggage 3 flights of stairs up.
Review 3:The twins were awesome. They went out of their way for us. One of the best guest houses we ever stayed at. Clean, professional and personal service. The complimentary snacks were out of this world, best carrot cake ever!
Review 4:Excellent service...no request was ignored or found impossible....beautiful view and a little gem.Even the afternoon tea and cake was outstanding...loved it
Review 5:Friendly staff, great breakfast, healthy light lunch, spacious room, tranquil surroundings, tasteful decor, nice finishing touches (like cheese cake for that late-night snack, and a small jug of sherry topped up every day)
Review 6:Emergency contact numbers in room out of date, eg. hospital. Perking facilities not great.
Review 7:Location near beachfront and shopping centres. Good website access. Good in-room facilities.
Review 8:None
Review 9:Excellent location and comfortable surroundings. All the staff were professional and helpful and additional touches added something special to our stay. Highly recommended overall.
Review 10:I loved my stay, short as it was.
Review 11:Great place to stay, easy to get to, gated parking (though very safe area I felt. Service was friendly and some good advice about where to eat and they organised a taxi for us. Recommended highly. The best omelettes ever!
Review 12:Ballito may not be the best choice for those looking for good restaurants and night environment. It is small location with a few restaurants and the best choice to eat may be pizza. Near the sea it is expected to have good seafood and at this level there was no great choice.
Review 13:Nice beach
Review 14:Personally I would have preferred a large bath but the newlyweds had no problem with the lack thereof. I would have also preferred a late checkout but the guesthouse was fully booked and this was not possible.
Review 15:I booked this accommodation for my brother and his new wife as a gift on their wedding night. They thoroughly enjoyed it and said it was the perfect getaway before their actual honeymoon. The staff were excellent, room large with a beautiful Seaview. The ambience was perfect and Lynelle went out of her way to make their first night as newlyweds extra special. Hats off to you guys. Thank you I especially appreciate the arrangements that were made to accommodate the couples very late arrival at the guesthouse. Lynelle is an absolute star!!
Review 16:The barking dog next door.
Review 17:Overall impression is impressive. Everything is superb, there are not do's & don't lists that attack you around every corner and there are pleasant surprises such as mood candles next to the bath, fruit and cherry and quality rusks in the room. There is also cake & tart in the dining room 24/7 and even sometimes pastries. This and honesty bars (nothing is locked up) gives a feeling that you are welcome, trusted & free to relax & enjoy.
Review 18:Amazing beautiful old feel modern house. Gorgeous fittings and decor. Friendly staff and delicious breakfast. Great security. Lynell was very helpful and accommodating. Best part was the jar of musili and chocolate chip cookies on the dining room table! I was addicted lol Definitely book your next stay here, you won't be disappointed.
Review 19:Liked absolutely everything.
Review 20:Impressive attention to detail. Outstanding service from Lynell. Carefully prepared and presented food. Excellent view.
Review 21:i didn't like the fact that there is no shampoo provided.there were also stains on the face cloth and the bed covers.small marks but unsettling..
Review 22:the best part about this stay by far was the view from our room and the wonderful breakfast
Review 23:I was worried about luggage and stairs but we had a lot of willing hands to assist us. Again Thank you. It made a big difference.
Review 24:The best thing about our stay was the friendliness of the two young women running the lodge. They were willing to meet every request and very helpful in terms of suggestions for sightseeing and the safety of beach and other places. The breakfast was tasty and the carrot cake outstanding. Thank you.
Review 25:absolutely nothing
Review 26:EVERYTHING about our stay was incredible! we felt like we were in a 10 star paradise. The view was incredible, breakfasts were amazing and very filling, the room itself was the best! awesome bed, spacious bathroom and a very convenient mini fridge at very reasonable prices. Parking was never a problem. Coming and going as we pleased was made really easy with keys and a remote, and lastly, the 2 ladies that run the house supported by their staff were more than willing to help with anything, really friendly and in general a pleasure to be around.
Review 27:> location is in residential area. Compound across the street has several dogs which barked loudly and often. Objectionable especially in the early morning. > lots of monkeys in area which get the dogs barking….
Review 28:> spacious room, excellent bed > bathroom luxury - shower & tub > breakfast menu changed every day & was the quality was exceptionally good > wine & snacks available at all times > service could not have been better > secure parking > good nearby dining & beach
Review 29:The bed was a little short, we're both quite tall people, extra length bed/s should be considered.
Review 30:Quiet and peaceful setting/neighbourhood. Very neat and tidy. Breakfast menu thoroughly enjoyed
Review 31:What is there not to like every one is friendly and helpful and the best view to wakeup to. Elke kamer het sy eie persoonlikheid dit is baie rustig mooi skoon en netjies jy kan voel jy het 'n goeie nagrus gehad dankie
Review 32:Had problems with Wifi while we were there but staff were very helpful with printing boarding passes and the like. Absolutely everything else first rate!
Review 33:Beautiful, well-maintained property. Staff exceptional. Linell and Desiree efficient, friendly and amazing attention to detail. All the little extras were very much appreciated....the port and fruit in the room, the well-stocked wine fridge, the afternoon tea and cheese-platter. Excellent value for money. Stayed in three B&B's in area around Xmas period, by far the best and not the most expensive.
Review 34:Parking on premises very restricted.
Review 35:Rooms lovely with lots of extras. Excellent breakfast. The owners very helpful. Yes, we would book this guesthouse again.
Review 36:The only thing I would change is I would have liked the pool to be heated so we could swim in it.
Review 37:A beautiful room with view of ocean and the staff were extremely accommodating. It was an honor to spend time with the owner
Review 38:Not so close to the beach. The bedpost obscured the TV.
Review 39:The facilities were beautifully appointed with love and attention to detail. We felt like honored and appreciated guests and received the best service possible. Our room was spacious clean, comfortable and welcoming. Our hosts love baking, cooking and caring and our breakfast was amazing - the best I've had. The bathroom and shower was great.
Review 40:Very small issues that did not detract from the stay - parking is free but is a bit of a squeeze, and it is not really possible to walk comfortably to the beach since there are no sidewalks on the road. Ballito is full of roadworks at the moment at the top of the town near the shopping malls.
Review 41:Comfortable rooms with bathtubs as well as showers, and lots of complimentary extras including fruit, water, afternoon cakes. Towelling robes in rooms also. Nice views over the coastline. Wonderful breakfasts. Nice staff.

Review 101:Incorrect info re the honesty bar downstairs

Review 107:as a guest I felt we had to organise our schedule/time around the availability of the reception(i.e. person booking us in). Not welcoming, just going through the motions of providing accomodation. I am aware we went there to sleep but a bit of warmth and tolerance would have made the stay/ambiance great. It is apity considering that it is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location.
Review 108:beautiful area, lovely hotel, serene and peaceful.
Review 109:water temperature and pressure needs to be fixed, light bulbs need changing, cupboard knobs etc fall off- poor maintenance. limited breakfast menu, bread kept along side the toaster was not very fresh, neighbours' dogs were noisy at times, management staff need to chill and relax more- refrain from repremanding subordinates loudly or in the presence of other guests. honesty bar pricelist not updated, when you get to reception you need to cough up more. this is adverised as 5 star but upon arrival, inspected certificate and found only 4 stars from tourism board.
Review 110:the jacuzzi and spacious rooms, double shower, peaceful atmosphere, balcony, management assisted by finding and booking a nearby spa treatment, the homely atmosphere and decor.
