Reviews for Montbleu Resort Casino & Spa

Review 1:The pool was closed & that was our purpose to stay there to enjoy the pool there was a dirty (really dirty) hand towel soon Arrival

Review 2:Great location great staff

Review 3:The smell of cigarettes, the wet carpet, remote to tv didn't work, the employees didn't refill the complimentary coffee, had to request it to be refilled. I made an 800 toll free number call and still got charged for the call. Was charged about $100 more just because I requested the lake side

Review 4:Close to everything, nice view

Review 5:The room was stuffy and hot. The fan was too loud so we couldn't keep it on to cool the room off. Also the lighting in the bathroom was very dim.

Review 6:The food and the casino.

Review 7:On our first night it was pretty noisy with guests from upstairs. I guess the insulation is not good for sound proofing the rooms. Also some guest are just rude and don't realize that it is 1 am and they are not the only people in the hotel. We had to call the front desk and after that it became quiet.

Review 8:We had the room with two queen beds (mountain view) and it was nice and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom and the shower were supper nice. I also appreciate the fact that I asked for a coffee maker and they gave it to me. it was in the room when we arrived. The wifi was also pretty good. We spent a couple hours in the gym and the spa. The spa time was the highlight of my trip. It was very clean and well kept. Since we went in the morning, we practically had the whole place to ourselves. I would definitely come back to this place, if anything for the spa.

Review 9:the food was mediocre and pricey for the area, the air is so dry and smoke-filled my whole party ended up with bloody noses and respiratory infections when we got home, heater in our room did not work, beds felt much smaller than queens

Review 10:Something did work properly or poor maintenance a bit high on price value

Review 11:Everything i need was close by Staff was friendly and helpful Great environment

Review 12:the A/C was not working, had to call mainteniance 2 times, one matress was very old you could hear the springs and feel them, the other one was new, we asked to change the old one, it was fully booked, so they did not have it. we paid high rate due NYE week, and was not worht it,stay if it is under 120 per night. we paid arround 400.

Review 13:The location casino and staff

Review 14:There was too much smoke in the hallways and the common areas where kids were allowed. We were assigned to a smoking room (apparently that was the only one available) and the smell of cigarettes was overpowering. Even the ionizer that the hotel staff provided didn't quite help. The bed was not the best. I could feel the springs. The safe was too small to hold anything bigger than a phablet.

Review 15:The hotel was close to all of the ski slopes in the So. Lake Tahoe area and the downtown area. The room was clean and well maintained.

Review 16:The rate I was charged when the previous week I was charged half of that and the girl at the front desk could care less

Review 17:I can only book through booking.com I have stayed at the hotel repeatedly asked for the AAA rate which I was refused told Internet was included when I booked Thru booking.com and then the hotel charged me for Internet

Review 18:Woke up each day with a sore back as did my husband. Horrible mattress. Unfortunate as our reason for getting away was to sleep since we have a newborn who was being taken care of for the weekend. Also didn't appreciate the half naked santa dancers in the lobby.

Review 19:Dining

Review 20:Water leaked through the closed window, all over our stuff, including a laptop - keep your bags far away!!! Front desk didn't seem too bothered when we told them about it.

Review 21:Pool is great, if a little cold - keep in the hot tub! Huge bathroom, great bed.

Review 22:The smell of smoke in the lobby, hallways and one of the restaurants we went to was horrible but not as bad in other hotel across the street. Pillows were horrible, couldn't get comfortable or able to fall asleep for 2-3 hours which is unusual for me.

Review 23:The hotel was clean and updated. The bathtub and shower was nice. Room was clean.

Review 24:Only thing my girlfriend didn't like about the room was lighting but other then that it was a nice stay

Review 25:The rooms are very clean and well kept. Happy hour tacos are a must try and shuttle to heavenly was perfect

Review 26:Key did not work, locked out of room with bags, called front desk and security shows up to inform me I need to go to front desk to re-program keys, unacceptable.

Review 27:Restaurants were not very good. The only upscale restaurant we were interested in dining was closed. We were disappointed by the food options available.

Review 28:Hotel accommodations were great. We were updated to a suite when our original booking was unavailable. Rooms and bathrooms were beautiful.

Review 29:The beds and pillows were not very comfortable. The pool deck area was a bit messy but that was mostly due to the guests being messier than they should have been.

Review 30:The pool was great though just a little cooler than it should have been. The rooms were nice. No smoke smell on the room floors.

Review 31:Poor services, we had waited for our food for more than 45 min. Uncleaned bathroom. Besides the room, everywhere else is full with cigarette smoke odors.

Review 32:Location and room size

Review 33:Limited restaurant selection. Adjacent properties similarly limited. Tahoe isn't a food destination but more choices would have been nice.

Review 34:Nice property. Well located. Easy access to rest of South Lake Tahoe. Stunning indoor pool.

Review 35:The construction was the only downfall, but it's understandable with the discount and right before the winter rush.

Review 36:I just love the location, and the rooms are very nice since the renovation. Amazing shower.

Review 37:I didn't like the security my neighbors next door were making a lot for noise all night long drinking , smoking marihuana and nobody from the hotel helps me , they told me they don't have another room to move , also my sister got bite from an animal and she had all rash very bad services I'll never come back

Review 38:While I've enjoyed staying here a couple times in the past and it seems to always be under construction which makes things a little dirtier. I also would prefer more dining options at the resort. Plus the pool was closed.

Review 39:The rooms were spacious and clean for my 2 night stay. The friendly staff helped when I had questions about restaurants and the weather.

Review 40:The prices can be a tad lower, other then that nothing to complain about. Oh yes, there is. I hated that the 25cent horse game is no longer there!

Review 41:The staff was very nice and the room it's self was clean and beautiful. I love the new upgrades!!!!

Review 42:Room was small, I had requested a top floor with lake view and did not receive it, although the clerk told me they were available for a fee.

Review 43:Needed a microwave and refrigerator.

Review 44:I did not like the front desk people on their rudeness. I booked a room online with the option for a smoking room, but upon checking in they said they did not have any smoking rooms left and we are stuck with what we have non-smoking. The front desk told me it's a request not an option, so I was mis-lead by the site. They didn't even try to accommodate me or my family for this. We also request more towels because of the number of kids we had and never received them.

Review 45:I liked that the location had an indoor swimming pool, and the staff of the pool area were great. Liked the restaurant and how the food tasted.

Review 46:Booking.com charged more than to make a direct booking plus the fees were higher because of booking.com. What a rip off.

Review 47:Nice people despite being burned and over charged by booking.com

Review 48:The one odd thing I found was the TV remote did not work so we had to use the controls in the back of the TV to change the channels and volumes.

Review 49:Absolutely loved the spaciousness and comfortable accommodation. The price was perfect as was the location.

Review 50:The room had no drawers and storage for our clothes. We were going to stay for 2 weeks but there was a $20 extra charge per night for a fridge. We moved to the Hard Rock Hotel

Review 51:Good location and the restaurants were outstanding.

Review 52:Wish there was more selection in the restaurants. But overall....it was all good!

Review 53:Affordable, convenient, nice place to stay. Loves how CVS 24 hour pharmacy was next door....and our hotel was very convenient...walking distance to other casinos. The slots have good payouts too!

Review 54:No bathtub in the king size room. Pillows were the worst pillows I ever laid on.. so uncomfortable. For $250 a night... I want a heavenly bed! Price was up alot since pervious years, I guess due to renovation. However was disspointing.

Review 55:We went for the annual freakers ball. This was our 4th year. It's always fun entertainment. Last year (2014) the hotel was in major need of a cleaning and update. Was happy to check in and see new carpet, decor, total makeover.

Review 56:I didn't like that the rooms didn't come with the fridgerator and microwave, you pay enough money for the room they should have those amenities in them. after two nights at your hotel I went to the Holiday Inn Express because your hotel couldn't accommodate me for one more night stay in advance. They had refigerators, microwaves, indoor spa and a free breakfast in the morning for a lot cheaper and the rooms were nice and comfortable.

Review 57:The best part of the hotel was the pool and spa area and the bathroom in the room.

Review 58:I thought there would be a bathtub not just a shower.

Review 59:Absolutely loved the bathroom, especially the large shower and mirror. The spa was amazing as well!

Review 60:The rooms were all remodeled and like new. The bathrooms in the rooms were fabulous! Shower built for two! Clean and comfortable beds with down comforters. REAL NICE

Review 61:We ordered a refrigerator for 2 days of our stay and it never got sent up. Seems like something that should just be in rooms of this cost anyway, but to not have it arrive when ordered (there is a $20 per day fee) kind of sucked.

Review 62:The room was beautiful and clean. loved the shower! Bed was comfy. The restaurants were great. Yummy food. It was a good jumping off point for our visit to Tahoe and was a fun place to hang out when we didn't feel like doing much outside (pool, spa, casino).

Review 63:Your person at registration (Brenda) seemed as it was an inconvenience to wait on us. She did not give billing details, and even though we were a 1/2 hour before check in she wanted to charge us an additional $20.00. Is this your policy? We also stayed at the Peppermill in Reno. We checked in at 10:45 am no extra charge. We were given a full explanation of all the billing, we were treated with a friendly and helpful manner.

Review 64:The remodel of the rooms and Casino.

Review 65:Shower wasn't working when we arrived. It was fixed very promptly however. No DVD player in room.

Review 66:Nice comfortable room with large shower. Modern and stylish feel.Indoor pool and spa. Free parking. Good food.i

Review 67:I didn't like the food options...there was no cost efficient options. The buffet was over priced and the cafe over priced for the standard breakfast. In Las Vegas, that same breakfast in a hotel casino would have been cheaper.

Review 68:The rooms were fabulous! The remodel of the rooms were very nice.

Review 69:The Check-in experience was an absolute NIGHTMARE!! We were told that our Debit card would not be charged until check in. I planned on using a credit card for the cost of our room. When we arrived at 1:00 PM I was told that our Debit card was charged and the charge was $95 more than we were quoted. I asked them to reverse charges from my bank so I could use the CC and that took 4 hours of our stay in Tahoe!! WE had to stand around with our luggage in hand while someone figured out how to do it. They had me call my own bank like 3 different times just to finally find out that the charges $360 will not be credited back to my account for 7-15 business days! SO Montbleu had to charge my credit card also for our room!!! Now I was out $360 from my bank account and $360 from my Credit card. Our social activity and plans for a "nice" anniversary dinner was changed immensely! WE were very upset and wasted a lot of time standing at the front desk just to be double charged! Did the Hotel do anything to apologize or try to make it up to us you might ask... NO!!! And I heard the manager even tell someone on the other end of the phone that "she (other clerk) accidentally debited our bank card.

Review 70:Location and convenience of having pretty much everything in walking distance.

Review 71:Could not open the windows, restaurants mainly closed as it was Monday. My 80 year old mother had difficulty w the elevation and we needed a wheelchair which was unavailable though security was able to help.

Review 72:The staff was helpful

Review 73:I paid a premium price and expected premium amenities. What I got was no tub, a buffet that was hardly ever open and having to pay extra for a mini fridge when I was already paying $300 a night to stay there. I'll never stay at this casino again.

Review 74:I liked the staff. That's about it.

Review 75:Requested specifically a better view from room after reading negative previous review where views were of other building roofs. Unfortunately seemed like we got the same exact room with poor views of building roofs. Also it's location was one of the furtherest of all hotels in the area.

Review 76:Clean, smoking rooms, parking facilities, cafes and restaurants inside.

Review 77:The remote in the room needed new batteries, we had to ask for another set of bath towels even though we had specified double occupancy and when we requested room service the delivery attendant did not notify us the tip was included in tab so we tipped cash and at check out we noticed it was included. The mentioned items are NO big deal Montbleu will continue to be our location of choice! We already booked our next stay!

Review 78:We enjoyed the location, it was walking distance to all our intrests. The Montbleu team was very accommodating, can't beat the happy hour, will stay here again!

Review 79:The staff's unwillingness to match booking.com's "guaranteed" rates after they lost the reservations and booked us as "walk-ins". We paid $10 more. Cigarette butts in hallway and elevator. Booked a deluxe king, upon check in they suggested two queens...? Worst customer service I have ever encountered.

Review 80:Shower was nice

Review 81:Bed was too hard When the doors close it's very loud, could hear my neighbors doors closing all night, made it hard to sleep. Also the tv reception was not good some of the time

Review 82:Bathroom was big, loved the huge shower

Review 83:No bathtub, shower only, but it was huge. Bedroom view was towards the parking.

Review 84:Beroom was very nice, decorated and comfy. Friendly Concierge, restaurant staff. Big pool and hot tub

Review 85:Only bad thing was the pillows were feather so very very soft and became totally flat by the middle of the night.

Review 86:Great stay! Worth the little extra for a nicer room.

Review 87:The half hour of alarms at 2:30am!

Review 88:The friendly staff. number one, the swimming pool was to die for. We are not gamblers and we suffer in cigarette smoke so we were pleased that the gambling area was small with very little smoking.

Review 89:Arrived with cash only and was almost impossible to find an ATM machine to deposit money in Card in order to check in...took 30 mins to finally get our room. Also we ordered a smoking room, but fire alarm kept going off every 10 mins and that became veeerrry annoying...

Review 90:Staff is extremely friendly!

Review 91:Casino was dirty and out dated but with all the remodeling I'm sure that is a plan at some point. The staff could have been more welcoming at check in and check out.

Review 92:The location was great and the rooms were great. The rooms were new and clean and comfortable. The sports book was very nice and had plenty of action. The casino staff were very nice.

Review 93:There was constant junk laying around from remodel. Hardly any table games open at all. When asked why they had no PaiGow Poler open they said it was because they have an employee shortage. Too small and the machines were tight. Several bars not open. Sort of depressing. Used to come here when it was Caesars and it was wonderful. We wont be back probably.

Review 94:Friendliness of dealers

Review 95:When i drove up I was very disjointed with all the construction being done...i don't mind the work but when i booked the room there was no mention of the remodel. I would have stayed at a different hotel if i was aware of the construction. Nice place but no one wants to go on a weekend getaway and see and hear construction work.

Review 96:The rooms were good but the Casino needs to be remodel.

Review 97:Shower should have had a bench as well as maybe another shower head. a tub in the bathroom. We wish there was a fridge so we could have kept our drinks cold. The bathroom needed more light.

Review 98:The bed was great.

Review 99:1st room was not cleaned properly. Had to change rooms. Ran out of hot water in the shower. Noisy because of all the construction. Signs everywhere inc. in casino misleading because of all the construction.

Review 100:The staff at the front desk were very nice, and accommodating.

Review 101:Breakfast buffet had little selection several entrees missing . Omelet cooks claimed they had no experience and did not have all items as posted to make omelets. Construction in progress this was not mentioned when booking rooms.

Review 102:Staff very nice . Food st Cafe Soliel good. Good drinks in casino

Review 103:That I wasn't informed of the construction being done on the hotel, No handicap entrance was available, and as I was trying to lift my aunt from the curb, into the hotel I nearly dropped her. The shower handle fell off the wall. The handicap room I requested did not have a walkin shower, therefore it was difficult showering my aunt whom is wheelchair bound. The towels were old The beds were fullsize, not queen The air conditioner was poor, poor ventilation The lighting in the bathroom was poor Although Andrew (frontdesk) was very kind and took off the early checkin charge, he offered for us to move to room 732 with a walkin shower, we were already unpacked and ready to attend the reception. I was told I was in a renovated room. OMG! Room 1132 was not worth $291.00 I would have stayed at Harveys or Harrahs however my aunt chose to stay in the same hotel as our wedding reception for easier access and convenience. IT WAS NOT.......

Review 104:The Wedding reception we attended in the convention room and the spa lady that did a great job waxing my aunts facial

Review 105:Very awkward for disabled persons. Never saw a casino host or manager in the floor. Menu selection at cafe and buffet limited and pedestrian. Food tasted like you had no chef to oversee food before it was taken out to guests. Taste uninspired and presentation really unattractve. Video poker pay schedules very poor.

Review 106:Responsiveness of maintenance to our multiple problems with the room

Review 107:Perhaps a ceiling vent fan in the bathroom area and a either brighter illumination around the bathroom mirror to make it easier for the men to shave and the women to apply their cosmetics.

Review 108:I was extremely pleased and proud of of the way the booking customer service team members adjusted and adapted to the numerous changes that occurred with my daughter's wedding guest list- they allayed all of her nervous fears that everything was going to be perfect and it was. From my Family to the Montbleu a Family, Many Thanks

Review 109:Deposited in Tahoe fund at the casinos, nothing anyone can do bout that.

Review 110:It was overall a great getaway weekend, was in Tahoe for Sammy Hagar concern, all went very well.

Review 111:The free wifi was SO SLOW that it forces you to have to pay to get the up grade. Also a lock on the restroom door would have been great.

Review 112:the room was spacious and the bed was amazing!

Review 113:The smel of cigarette even in the not smoking rooms is terrible. In the webside didn't tell us the hotel was under construction and the place looks updated. Really bad experience.

Review 114:I didn't like how I couldn't connect my chromecast to the wifi. The bathroom was awesome but it would've been great if it had like a rain fall type shower.

Review 115:Cleanliness off the room and location of the other casinos. The bell hop service was nice and friendly.

Review 116:The front of the hotel was under construction, this provided some confusion for our check in--hard to find and they staff was a little disoriented and couldn't find our reservation because booking.com faxes them and their fax machine was in a different part of the building.

Review 117:The updated bathrooms were very nice...but needed more light. As a woman it was hard to get ready.

Review 118:Upon arrival told there would be a charge for early check in. When I asked why? told because that is what we do. What I was not told was this applies from 10:00-2:00 (checked in at 1:30. Front desk was not very helpful. There was also construction at the main entrance never received any information regarding that. Although a minor issue it was unclear where check in was. Done enough travel in my time and stayed at many hotels and resorts, just bothers me to no end that a hotel has to nickel and dime customers to death. Regarding the early check in fee, its not like they had to hurry up and get a room ready, hotel was not full.

Review 119:Pool and Spa

Review 120:Staff pushy for tips especially vallet parking after delivering car I ran to the restroom the valley got stood there the whole time waiting with his hand out very unprofessional....

Review 121:Clean room great service and a great place to just get away

Review 122:Raw sewage backed up in the sink about three AM, we were forced to use the shower faucet instead of the sink(not to mention it was disgusting) the next morning and when we checked out a little while later, they made it seem like it was our fault for not telling them sooner. There was no offer of a discount in spite of this

Review 123:Good location near stateline

Review 124:They tried to charge almost double the rate. I pointed it out they said the fixed it and then still over charged me. They said whoops we mixed it up it's all on computer a total scam.

Review 125:I didn't like that it was under renovation. We were not told that beforehand and it seemed most inconvenient and dingy.

Review 126:The rooms and shower were lovely and bed was very comfortable. It looked over a parking deck with not much view.

Review 127:Front entrance under construction and no previous warning... Very big eye sore and inconvenience for such a big price for room. Hotel parking garage attendant wouldn't allow use of luggage cart...stated hotel rules...so I had to carry heavy things to front desk.NO refrigerator or microwave in room which was 250 a night.

Review 128:The swimming pool was beautiful... The steakhouse restaurant was wonderful... Shower in room was wonderful.

Review 129:You need to pay for wifi. The free wifi is awful. The gym/spa costs $10 a day for guests. I understand the spa being $10 but a fitness center should be free. My rooms service order was also messed up.

Review 130:The rooms were nicely renovated and the spa was nice to relax in.

Review 131:bathroom door did not have lock. no fridge to keep drinks cold. we stayed two days and no maid. came 1st day. after we left for the day.. no bathtub

Review 132:room nice. bed comfy big shower

Review 133:Construction made it difficult to find entrance. The elevator was hard to find no signs? Could not find restaurant does it have one? Gambling was poor went to another casino... Maybe better next time...

Review 134:The Room was far beyond expectations!

Review 135:The lighting in the bathroom was very poor.

Review 136:The staff were very informative about the area and the fabulous Steakhouse at the hotel. The food was amazing and staff were very attentive! The decor of the room was very nice and the view of the Tahoe mountains was beautiful.

Review 137:Hotel was remodeled. Tubs taken out (one of our favorite things). Overall, hotel not as comfortable as our previous stay before the remodeling. We booked for three nights, left after the first uncomfortable night.

Review 138:On the 6th floor facing the lake side lots of noise From the exhaust fans on 1st floor roof.ran all night, lots of noise, wife complained at front desk and they were rude

Review 139:Yes on 6th floor

Review 140:The safe was almost on the floor. Very low light. The safe means on your hands and knees and flashlight. The del Soul restaurant for breakfast was over cooked food.

Review 141:The restaurant Ciera is excellent.

Review 142:We had no towels in our room. Just small ones for handwash. Did not find out until I was in the shower :-( We got a small refund. Expensive. No breakfast buffet. Old smoke smell in our room.

Review 143:Pool was nice. Walking distance to shopping area/ dining. Secure free parking, free Wi-Fi. Kids loved the arcade game room.
