Reviews for Loews Philadelphia Hotel

Review 1:The TV in our room was not faced properly. We had to sit on a side to watch our shows. That would not be a major thing since we would watch TV only for an hour or so but it's something the hotel managers should be aware of still.

Review 2:Loews is losing its luster. The reception staff and valet staff are miserable. The room was fair. The hallways were dirty and the same large dust bunnies in main corridors remained for days. Apathetic concierge staff. We've visited for Christmas for the last 5-6 years. Time to chose another property next year.

Review 3:The gym (and staff) and The Bank and Bourbon restaurant (and staff)

Review 4:The view from my room was a construction site.

Review 5:The staff was very accommodating and friendly.they gave me an early check-in and a late check out.. They even told me where to wait for my uber driver.

Review 6:The parking attendants will tell you one day "please call down before you need the car" and on the next day they will say "we're too busy, you need to be present to get your car" — which results in you waiting on the street for 20 minutes. It needs better coordination and a more customer-centric experience.

Review 7:It's a beautiful and historic property, centrally located.

Review 8:Arrived around 9pm in the evening after a 7 hour flight from UK. I was told at the reception desk that my reservation had been cancelled due to problems between Booking.com and Loews. I had no idea there was any problems, and fortunately they managed to find me a room...

Review 9:great location, super rooms, great bar and good facilities

Review 10:The room was very nice. The bathroom was very large with a very good shower head. The room had a good study desk. Complementary internet speed was good. The bed was comfortable. This was the best hotel that I have stayed for a long time. It felt like a 5-star hotel.

Review 11:Cleanliness could have been improved. There was mold in the grout in the bathroom and layers of dust on the miniblinds!

Review 12:Nice location, cool early modernist skyscraper converted to a hotel. Comfortable.

Review 13:Was woken up at 4:00 in the morning to someone drunkenly singing Prince's "Purple Rain" in the hallway. In other circumstances, I might have laughed it off, but not at this price.

Review 14:The location was perfect.

Review 15:I had a room on the 26th floor with a spectacular view, but there was a tremendous amount of dust and debris throughout the interior. The room should be remodeled and updated. There was dirt and food behind the dressers. The carpet was extremely dirty. The windows were even dirtier. For the amount of money I paid, I am ashamed to even mention that I stayed here.

Review 16:The breakfast was expensive, but very delicious. The hotel is centrally located and near plenty of places to eat. The hotel looks nice on the outside, but the room....

Review 17:The restaurant was ok. A homeless man stumbled into the bar while I was having a drink. It was nice they gave him a water, but it seemed strange he choose that place because it's kind of fancy. But that's the neighborhood, it's a little rough.

Review 18:The view of the city was nice. The proximity to everything was great! It was within walking distance of the liberty bell, Chinatown, and a lot of other stuff! Great places to eat all around.

Review 19:I can't tell anything bad about this hotel. It was 10 out of 10. Maybe they could put steam bath also next to the fitness center. That would make the hotel 11 out of 10 :)

Review 20:I loved that I got a corner room on a high floor with a beautiful view. Room was spacious and clean and bathroom was excellent as well. I loved that the hotel offered free Wifi. Also I am a fitness buff and I love working out and this hotel had a fantastic gym for a hotel. They had treadmills and leg press and legcurl machine, hip abductor, hip adductor, kettleballs, free weights, cable machine, squat machine etc. Also the hotel has an excellent location and great restaurants were close by and all shopping facilities as well. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and kind. Bellmen were nice too. Bed in my room was very comfortable as well.

Review 21:Staff wasn't as friendly as expected, service was decent but far from great. Price of room I expected something more with a wow factor.

Review 22:The location it was very excellent

Review 23:It felt luxurious, from lifts that were plentiful to brilliant robes provided in the bedrooms. And the fitness area is the best I have ever seen in a hotel.

Review 24:Elevators kind of slow but that's a maintenance problem

Review 25:I stayed for the made in America music festival the staff was very accommodating very nice I would stay again in the drop of a dime

Review 26:We loved absolutely everything about the hotel - the location, the view, the room, the staff, the amenities, etc. It's a fantastic hotel, and well worth the money. We enjoyed a beautiful weekend in the city, and are absolutely going back.

Review 27:The hotel had no record of my reservation, although I had the print out from Booking.com showing two rooms. They did have the other room but not mine. I may not use Booking.com again because of this glitch. It could have been a disaster.

Review 28:Entrance did not have sufficient luggage carts. Had to wait for that. Room service grilled cheese should NOT have 3 pieces of bread. That's crazy...no one told me. I would have asked for 2 pieces of bread

Review 29:Housekeeping & room service & bellman were v friendly and excellent Housekeepers should get the $35 charge for pets, please!

Review 30:The room rate was a little high.

Review 31:The staff was extremely helpful. Having never been to Philadelphia before, they made terrific suggestions for our visit.

Review 32:Though we liked the restaurant Bank & Bourbon, it would have been nice to have a less formal option to get something to eat. We had eaten a late lunch so we were not starving for dinner and their menu didn't really accommodate a light meal. The bath towels were too basic to be in this nice of a hotel. With no fan in the bathroom, one shower turned the bathroom into a sauna and made it hard for the next person in line to fully utilize the room. The M&Ms in the minibar were priced at $9. Outrageous. Getting our car out of the garage during check-out on a Sunday was a bit of a road block.

Review 33:This hotel is centrally located, which was perfect for walking to spots in both directions. Proximity to Reading Terminal was also a plus. The room was beautiful and we loved the desk space component. ATM in the lobby was helpful. We needed extra pillows and a staff member quickly brought them up to the room when we requested. The bathroom toiletries were excellent. We never heard outside noise from other rooms or even the corridors. We loved the option of getting a beer at the bar downstairs and taking it up to our room.

Review 34:The restaurant is great for breakfast, but a bit over-priced for dinner. Tons of good places to eat within a few blocks.

Review 35:We spent a long weekend at Loew's, and it was great. If you want to be treated with respect and have friendly, professional service, it would be hard to top it. The location is excellent. We were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go, and cabs were always handy if we needed one. The room was clean and comfortable. Overall, a very nice visit to Philadelphia.

Review 36:Valet, with the exception of the morning we checked out, Was extremely slow and several could easily be seen joking around while we were made to wait leading us to be late for our event.

Review 37:Most of staff and service was outstanding.

Review 38:Small lobby, no things to do there, no space to sit an relax. Giant tvs and people drinking all the time. Housekeeping service was done very late .

Review 39:Comfort in the bedroom

Review 40:Nothing bad at all. There was room for improvement, but only minor things.

Review 41:The bed was amazing, the location is perfect for visiting historic philadelphia and other downtown locations, and the lounge was excellent. Everything was truly great!

Review 42:They held $750 to cover extras and it should have been $250

Review 43:Latoya the person who checked me in fixed the mistake and sent a bowl of fruit to the room. The staff is excellent!!!

Review 44:The lobby was extremely cold. Did not like that I had to pay an additional $25 a night for a small refrigerator. The charge seems accessive.

Review 45:The bed was very comfortable. Loved the highspeed usb charge in the desk. Liked the desk with 2 chairs to work at. Loved that I was offered a bottle of water when leaving the parking garage for my trip home.

Review 46:It was overpriced. The reserve desk staff were (2 of the 3 I dealt with) mechanical and could not adjust to any of the questions we asked.

Review 47:The room was just as pictured.

Review 48:The side entrance by the valet is showing wear and tear and that just shouldn't be allowed first impressions count

Review 49:Great location close to everything

Review 50:None

Review 51:Location is great, not very close to the tourist spots( which I find is actually annoying, especially stay in place like Philly's old city) but very easily to get around, transportation is very convenient. The room is large and clean, bed is comfortable.

Review 52:The room was very comfortable, I recommend requesting a high floor for an amazing view. The location was fantastic and walking distance to many sights. I was attending a conference at the convention center which was only a block away.

Review 53:Having to leave...

Review 54:Location was perfect for conference and general exploring. The fastest checkin I have experienced in the U.S. Extremely friendly staff everywhere.

Review 55:The hotel was well located so we could walk to all the cultural and historic sights of the city. Facilities, including the pool and excellent gym were ideal. The bar was convenient for a quick bite, and all the staff were efficient and friendly/

Review 56:We had such a great experience here. Close walking distance to shopping, museums, restaurants. Beautiful hotel, over the top wonderful staff. Clean modern room with a very large bathroom.

Review 57:We liked everything: the size of the room, the amenities in the room, the location. But we loved how great every staff person was with our doggie! Way beyond friendly--they were helpful, engaging. Won us over!

Review 58:I was given a handicap room. I understand the need for them but I think a guest should be told ahead of time if they're going to be assigned to one.

Review 59:Great service. Clean. Best location for center city.

Review 60:Parking is a little pricy. But if u are willing to walk a few blocks down, you can save some money.

Review 61:This was exceptionally, we had a fabulous time. We were upgraded to bigger room and a later checkout. We had a great time for our 1st time away from home with no kids.

Review 62:Loews Philly hotel is a honeymooners dream! :) my husband and I felt so special from initial check-in, with our front desk rep, Ida, our first contact with the hotel, made us feel so welcome from the get-go. We also got a great honeymooners' perk of a $50 voucher in our room. The hotel bar is wonderful with real food served until 12MN, and on our 2nd night, we got free champagne from our server. What great service and excellent staff all around! Our room was a perfect king-size room overlooking the city! Location of this hotel is perfect around Market st, close to shopping, visitors center, liberty bell, etc. Everything is walking distance OR, no joke, a 10-minute cab ride away. just good vibes all around from our trip, thanks for making us so happy for our minimoon in Philly!!! :)

Review 63:We ate in the restaurant and the food and service were great. Reception staff and concierge were extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and spacious.

Review 64:Located steps from train, restaurants. Bed was perfect! Staff extremely helpful and accommodating. Thank you concierge Kevin for safely holding our bags while attending graduation at the Kimmel Center!

Review 65:We ordered room service one night, and no one ever came to our room. Not good service!!!!. We also wish the beds were as comfortable as the Marriott, didn't realize the Marriott was right across the street, they give free water to guests, at Lowe's we had to pay $4 a bottle, a bit ridiculous for a bottle of water. It felt like being nickled and dimed, we paid enough for the room, water would have been a plus!

Review 66:The bathroom was great, two women can putt makeup on at the same time was a big plus.

Review 67:Room was cleaned very late in the day frequently after I returned from activities. I machine was not working on my floor and it was difficult to find the location of another one.

Review 68:Staff was very friendly and always helpful!

Review 69:The room could have been a bit more clean. It was dusty in places and I found hairs behind the bathroom door and in the corners.

Review 70:The room was nice and big and overall very comfortable.

Review 71:My wife needed to stay in the city after surgery to be close to the hospital. The staff accommodated us with an early check-in even though the hotel was completely booked. The hotel brought snacks and a card signed by the staff with to my wife's room which brightened her day. An overall excellent experience.

Review 72:bartender needs to go to public relations school. First night there, Thursday, did not talk or give us the time of day but was more than happy to present us with the bill. thumbs down to him.

Review 73:It's very hip and modern in terms of decor (e.g. red, black and white furnishings, dark cavernous lobby, etc), which isn't really my thing (I prefer cozy). Also, there was lots of audible door slamming from neighboring rooms. I think it's just the engineering of the doors themselves. Otherwise, fantastic stay.

Review 74:Every one of the staff persons with whom I encountered was incredibly nice and accommodating. The even allowed me both a rather early check-in, which was tremendously appreciated as I'd arrived on via an exhausting red-eye flight from the west coast. I also was able to check out an hour late- all without extra fees or hassle.

Review 75:Everything was so good. The gym they had is one of the best i have seen till now. Its not a gym but an complete fitness centre. The mojoto drinks which were at the lobby were so refreshing and available all the time. The staff were cooperative.

Review 76:The cleanling of the rooms was unreliable. One day they didn't come to our room. The next when I spoke to the staff down the hall, they were cranky about me requesting that they make it to our room - it was very late in the day.

Review 77:Rooms were lovely with comfortable beds and wonderful baths. Desk staff was extremely helpful and went above and beyond. Lobby and bar as well as the fitness center were some of the best I've experienced in quite some time

Review 78:I have no complaints about this hotel.

Review 79:The staff was absolutely wonderful. We arrived shortly after 1:30 pm, prior to the assigned check in time, the person at the reception counter offered to store our luggage while he went to have some lunch. However, they called my mobile phone before I could even exit the hotel to tell me that another, even better room had become available. Later that same evening the staff gave us excellent reccomendations to some terrific restaurants and great direction to the ones that were in walking distance.

Review 80:The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The facilities are modern and well designed. The overall experience is superb. We will definitely stay at Loews on future visits.

Review 81:The only complaint I have was the free wireless - there is a reason it was free is because it was too slow to conduct any serious work.

Review 82:I stayed here while attending my son's graduation at Wharton. The location was perfect area to play tourist and still participate in all the graduation activities. The service and staff was wonderful. I highly recommend Loews.

Review 83:Rooms weren't ready. Got it at 2:45. Other couple's room/name was not in computer. Booking.com screwed up their name. Had to wait for it to be fixed. But desk people were very accommodating and pleasant.

Review 84:The upgrade breakfast, corner room, bar area, convenient parking. Excellent flat screen tv.

Review 85:the front desk staff at at night very rude snarky and uppity! I had interaction with one of the ladies at the front desk , she wuestion the validity of the deposit I put down on the ! comes to find out the guy who checked me in I guess didnt charge me the right incidental charge , she was on a power trip and a few other staff members were rude I live the loews as a whole but ill never say at the one in philly again

Review 86:the facility was great door guys were awesome!! .

Review 87:The bed wasn't facing the tv, so when we watched a movie it was super awkward having to face directly left for a couple hours. Room set up didn't make tons of sense. Also view from our window was basically of nothing. Saw the building across the street, no river or city views. Overall overpriced given those two things.

Review 88:Great staff, beautiful gym and pool. Very clean and great location.

Review 89:I didn't like the extra short shower curtain because it didn't keep the water from going all over the bathroom floor. Parking shouldn't have been so expensive if you were staying there overnight. Otherwise, everything else was great.

Review 90:The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and bed was comfy. The robes were the best.

Review 91:Very expensive daily parking rates. There is a garage a block away with cheaper overnight prices. Also the room was a bit on the smaller side but very well decorated with a decent view.

Review 92:Great location. Helpful staff. Highly recommend.

Review 93:The only complaint was that the red chair in our bedroom looked like it was covered in pet hair and had not been sufficiently cleaned.

Review 94:This hotel is in a good location and was easy to get around. Most places were within walking distance. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was a decent size. There was plenty of space in the room to put suitcases which was a bonus. Staff were friendly and willing to help. Also had a nice view of downtown.

Review 95:Two (male & female) of the 5th floor personnel (for our workouts and messages) were abrupt, & less friendly than the rest of the hotel staff.

Review 96:Overall, the staff was plesant.

Review 97:Everything!! Facilities, employees.,, the whole experience was incredible! The reception, restaurant, spa/gym, viewing area 33rd floor, housekeeping staff, concierges, doormen...everyone was so kind and helpful. And loved the cookies & milk & welcoming nite from LaToya.

Review 98:What's not to like? I could not fault anything

Review 99:The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, the beds were so comfortable and the wifi was perfect.. The bar and restaurant downstairs were buzzing and that created a great atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful and after mentioning that we were there for my daughter's birthday, they sent a cheese platter and bottle of wine to the room - very impressive Loews. I loved this hotel and would stay here again without hesitation.

Review 100:My friends and I appreciated a man named Anthony who took us and our luggage to our room. He was very detailed when telling us all the amenities of the hotel. And was friendly and welcoming. He housekeepers were also very nice.

Review 101:The wifi was good but would have been nice to have it on more than 3 devices

Review 102:Our short stay in Philly was amazing due to the staff at this hotel. The rooms were decent sizes for 3 of us and had amazing views out to the city. We had some issues with our flights out of Philly due to bad weather and cancelations and the concierges in the hotel were amazing with helping us find new flights and calling up airlines. We actually made it to the destination before we were supposed to :) We really appreciated everything so thank you :)

Review 103:I booked my room through booking.com, which gave me a guaranteed price for two nights. My bill at the end of my stay charged me $100 more. There was a -$100 listed on the bill, but so far, that $100 still has yet to be deposited back into my account.

Review 104:Hotel was great - very modern. I didn't get a chance to check out their restaurant, Bank and Bourbon, and I wish I had because it looked very nice. Reading market is literally a block to two away. The staff is literally the best!

Review 105:Walking distance from Independence Hall (about a mile) and across the street for The Reading Terminal where you could find some of the best food in Philly. About 2miles from the museum.

Review 106:Shower was a bit weak in pressure and took a while to heat up, Some rooms don't have a great view, hotel take $100 extra at start of stay for 'extras' which we thought was a bit much for two people, free wifi in the lobby kept dropping out..

Review 107:Free WiFi in room was very good and quick, Amazing bed, Great big TV, Modern look and feel to the whole hotel, great lobby bar, staff couldn't do enough for you, full and varied in room mini bar, good central location.

Review 108:business center was not really a business center. a Fedex outpost with high rates for self service copying and printing and use of internet.

Review 109:design, size of rooms, friendly and helpful staff, great gym, good location.

Review 110:Right near City Hall and the Reading Terminal Market, the hotel provides a perfect location for visiting Philadelphia. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the staff is unusually helpful.

Review 111:We didn't enjoy our meal at Banks & Bourdon. It's restaurant week which we enjoy often at many new places. The food wasn't tasteful at all small portions even the drinks where bad. Our server did try his best.

Review 112:We really enjoyed our stay. From the time we arrived every need question or request was meet. The staff where very knowledgable and friendly.

Review 113:Everything was great!

Review 114:We liked everything: huge room, comfortable huge bed, beautiful view, very good location! They have amazing gym with pool and 2 different saunas, which included in room price!

Review 115:Nothing, really nothing.

Review 116:The property is clean; the staff attentive. You escape the concrete and noise just steps away. It like dipping your toe in the water while staying dry until you are ready to immerse yourself.

Review 117:The wifi is very slow. U can't even watch YouTube. Even after I paid 15 bucks to upgrade the Internet. Unacceptable

Review 118:The location is great. Staff is very helpful. And the bed is super comfortable.

Review 119:Nothing!

Review 120:Classy,stylish yet comfortable. Great bar area next to lovely restaurant which provides food for room service which was Fabulous! Will definitely stay here again.

Review 121:No complaints!

Review 122:The restaurant was s pleasant surprise. After driving for many hours, we were happy stay on the premises the food was excellent and the wait staff was wonderful.

Review 123:The staff was extremely helpful and accomodating. The fitness center was fantastic and the beds were extremely comfy. The location was perfect, close to lots of restaurants, bars, and attractions including the Reading Terminal Market. I will definitely stay here again.

Review 124:Everything !great room with fab views doorman full of vibrant personality desk staff so helpful and design of building memorable. One of our best stays ever Great to see pets too

Review 125:Initial room may have been as bad as hotel offered. It was right next to elevator and very small ... with limited view. Really unacceptable.

Review 126:location and changed my room to accommodate concern

Review 127:I understand it was NYE and there were weddings in the building, but the elevators could barely keep up with the crowd. The construction outside was a bit annoying when they started at nine am. And I wish there were a reasonably priced restauraunt in the building.

Review 128:Three friends traveled to philly together for nye had a spacious room and a great time! The BEST part was the free gym and spa on the fifth floor. After shopping and seeing the sights (none which were far from the hotel) on cold winter days and luxurious steam and sauna were wonderful! Also detoxing on New Years day in there was a necessity! Thanks for a great stay!
