Reviews for Mesa Mezona Hotel

Review 1:Very large bedroom with ample space for lots of luggage, extra chair and small table and yet additional space for the lavabos. Breakfast, served until 10!, is simple but enough. Location in centre of Mesa with ample parking space; tramway stops just in front of hotel.

Review 2:Rooms have a mismatch of furniture. There are colored bed spreads on the beds. The tub has no gripper mat (almost fell in shower. The towels had stains and the bath mats were the most disgusting gray color. Instead of holding $50.00 hold on credit card you actually charged the money to our card, It has been several days and it hasn't been returned to our account. Furniture is set weird, desk should be near door for business men to plug in all their devices. I could go on and on but it is going to deaf ears. Your breakfasts are a joke no variety. The 2% milk was sour. Hope you make some changes, I know we will never again be a guest and my husband is going to spread the word about your establishment to all ,stay clear of your place of business. FYI anybody and everybody knows that 5 pillows on a king sized bed. I had a fall a couple days before checking into you Hotel. Only 3 pillows on bed and upon asking for extras room service showed up with 2 more. I needed to prop up my legs and elevate my head, my husband needs 2 pillows too, needless to say I had two very painful nights of just sitting up because of the lack of supplies needed to relieve my pain from a fall.

Review 3:Pool and grounds were impeccably kept. Hot tub was immaculate. Maids were friendly

Review 4:Could use better pillows and hot tub jets not working full strength. TV was funky until I got list from front desk.

Review 5:The front desk staff was.very helpful and greeted me by name. Great service. Great location. Nice restaurant next door. Clean, good sized rooms.

Review 6:Mezona is so convenient to downtown-- the museum, the convention center, and the arts center. It was great to leave the car and just stroll to all the spots we wanted. Breakfast was excellent and the hostess was extremely pleasant. We liked having the small fridge in the room, and the mini-water heater for beverages. Tea bags would have been even better--not everyone is a coffee drinker.

Review 7:The guy who checked me in was quick, friendly and explained everything well. I didn't have room cleaned, and could here the cleaning staff rolling the cart around and yelling at one another both days I was there. The cart didn't really bother me, the outside is all cement. Yet, seeing the "do not disturb" on my door it would have been nice if they didn't yell. However it didn't last too long. The hotel is located close to almost everything, yet pretty much in downtown Mesa (which is small, but I wouldn't take a walk at night). I live close and wasn't "visiting." I went there to have alone time and write, so I didn't need to leave to walk or drive around. The room I got was at the end of the building so I didn't have a lot of neighbors. However the ice machine and stairs were just outside the room with the smoking area just downstairs. Had I thought more about I would have asked to move before getting all settled. I stayed two nights and heard a domestic fight pretty much outside of my room. Once I considered making a call, it was over. I could see/hear the woman was the instigator and not getting hurt (from what I could see/hear). Reality - not the first time when being at a hotel, this can happen any place. The room was large with a nice recliner and a small desk. The bed was comfortable (and I'm a bed snob!). I have food intolerances, so I didn't eat the breakfast there. Overall I felt safe and comfortable. I would recommend the hotel.

Review 8:I asked for a first floor desk clerk said none were available. Hotel was practically empty all weekend. Lots of shady looking people in area

Review 9:The rooms were lg. Bed was comfortable.

Review 10:Great staff.Cleanest breakfast room of any chain we've been to. Joylynn kept the food hot and the place spotless! Direct access to Sky Harbor airport from the new light rail station right in front of the hotel.

Review 11:No shampoo or cream rinse in the tub...both ice machines not working

Review 12:The bed was very comfortable the room was large, refrigerator in the room was an added bonus, breakfast room was large and well appointed with good selection

Review 13:Since they didn't tell us about the times for the breakfast than we should have been offer free juice or donuts or even a Continental breakfast.

Review 14:I never ate my free breakfast, no one told me the breakfast was only until 10am. I try to go there at 1045am, but they were close already. We need better communication in the future :(

Review 15:Breakfast could stand some updating.

Review 16:Lite rail stop in front of hotel to downtown Phoenix and Tempe. Convenient to other nearby suburbs like Chandler, Scottsdale, and Gilbert. It was apparent that the owners are trying to update the hotel. Price was great and staff responsive to questions or needs.

Review 17:Only restaurants were taco places. Need a bar and grill. More pillows on king beds.. we smoke so a closer area would be good. .

Review 18:Rooms were big and very, very clean. Breakfast was ok..need more variety. But come with cheaper room prices so that was good.

Review 19:No fault of the hotel but why is there always some boor who plays his music way too loud and at all hours. I give credit to the maintanence man who told him what to do with his music.

Review 20:Good location , several good places to eat within walking distance. Main St Mesa has been fixed up a lot in this area . The light rail Metro right out front is a bonus. Good breakfast , always kept clean and replenished. Friendly staff throughout. Room was cleaned very well.

Review 21:There was hair on the bathroom wall, the pillows were made for tiny heads, they call it a hotel or an inn, but let's face it, it was a motel. The people in the motel and around the motel were sketchy and the Taco Bell next to the motel was an undercover homeless shelter. It's a good thing we only stayed for 2 nights. I don't know what would have happened if we stayed longer.

Review 22:Nothing at all.

Review 23:Had a little difficulty in getting enough clean towels from the room service

Review 24:Nice quiet location and fairly close proximity to all the highways. Clean facility and friendly staff.

Review 25:Shower drain was clogged up with human hair and I noticed around 11:30 pm so I fixed it myself. Didn't want anyone in there waking up my 9 month old Baby. Plus we were tired from driving 7 hours

Review 26:Price and staff were ok

Review 27:A little far from the freeway; and we got lost trying to get back on the freeway the next morning; we should've used our GPS rather than using our poor sense of direction!

Review 28:Great breakfast! Nice poolside (and jacuzzi!) rooms.

Review 29:I liked the location of the hotel which is right down the street from the performing arts center where my convention was being held. Also, I liked the refrigerator and microwave units in my room.

Review 30:I tried to check out early and the desk clerk insisted that I be charged for the two nights I would not be there. He said that he needed a fax from booking.com or else booking.com would charge the hotel. I called booking.com and they resolved the matter and had the hotel credit me for the two nights. Thank you booking.com.

Review 31:The individual that check me in was very help and pleasant. There was a mix up with what was required when checking in because the reservation was placed on booking.com. He explained the policy and resolved the issue very well .

Review 32:They first put us in a non-smoking room that we requesting, but it reeked with tobacco smell and the floor was filthy with stains.

Review 33:The breakfasts were good

Review 34:Our non smoking room had a faint odor of cigarettes and tho the thermostat was set at 68 the temp was 80 degrees until after the sunset and it finally cooled to 74.

Review 35:Breakfast was more substantial than the usual "continental "

Review 36:We checked in around 7pm it was really hot in the room ..so we turned the air on and left for a couple hours .. when we cam back it was still very hot in the room air was not working we called the manager told them it took them till 2 am to get us a fan that's all they said they could do .. I also had my 15 month old baby with us and was not a good place to be

Review 37:The beds were comfortable

Review 38:Non Smoking rooms smelled badly of smoke. Ashley, our very nice reservationist moved us once and when the second room smelled no better, we went and bought some Fabreeze.

Review 39:Each room has a fridge with freezer and a microwave. The room rates are very reasonable.

Review 40:This hotel looks like it is being upgraded! But why put people in a room that is not completely finished!

Review 41:The room was basically clean and there were newer fixtures in the bathroom!

Review 42:I did not like that I purposely picked this hotel for their pool and itwas closed our entire 5 day visit. The owner said he thought there wastoo much algae. It was our holiday week in Arizona over the 4th of July.I live in Minnesota, so not going in the pool one time in az was verydisappointing.

Review 43:The staff was friendly and the rooms were pretty clean.

Review 44:Mesa Mezona Hotel is very clean and quite place. Mesa Mezona has the best breakfast with a good selection. All the staff is very professional and friendly.

Review 45:I did not like that booking.com did not say this was a non-smoking hotel. But that isn't the hotels fault. Very nice property!

Review 46:The pool and the jacuzzi were excellent and very clean. The bed was very comfortable! This is a 100% non-smoking hotel but very convenient smoking areas.

Review 47:I was not told about a 50 credit card fee on bookin.com It said I could pay cash or with a card at a total of 68.14. So we traveled four hrs dwn to mesa and had nowhere to stay at 11pm family of 5

Review 48:Not being able to take breakfast back to your hotel room to eat..we just like to grab a muffin and go!Qu

Review 49:The bed was so comfortable, The room had everything a more expensive hotel would have and the breakfast was great!

Review 50:No bad experience..just was not crazy about the neighborhood it was in.

Review 51:The lobby was clean and smelled good. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.

Review 52:My first problem was that I needed to change the date (I input the incorrect date online accidentally, to one month early). I called and tried to change and was told that it was too late and that I would be charged the full amount of the room. I explained my situation but the woman manager that I spoke with was very cold and unmoving, not to mention just plain rude. I even called the umbrella company (Choice) and their customer service told me it would be fine, then called the hotel themselves, only to come back and apologize that the manager would not move and that they have last say. Because we had a nearby event and I wanted the reward points, i still booked for the later date. When we arrived I was told that they were changing from Choice Hotels to something different and that my reward points would not be honored. The facilities were on the lower end of what you would typically get in the chain. This is also the only time I have ever been given a ticket to get breakfast. It was as if they were trying to make sure you did not go down and get a second breakfast (which was by no means much of a breakfast). This seemed cheap and untrusting. For me, right from the start the customer service was terrible, and continued to be from that point forward. I would not recommend, they have no sense of how to treat the people who are giving them business. Worst experience I have ever had.

Review 53:At bedtime, other guests were noisy for some time but eventually settled down..

Review 54:Very courteous and efficient staff. For our purposes the location was convenient..

Review 55:Bathroom fan was loud & appeared to be broken. I needed an elevator & didn't think to ask if you had one.

Review 56:Quiet, (except for the bathroom fan) good food, nice employees.

Review 57:The only thing that should change is the time breakfast starts. 7am is a little late for travelers getting an early start.

Review 58:The bed was very comfy and the pillows were so soft!

Review 59:The room was large and comfortable and even included a lazy boy chair. Huge bathroom. The free breakfast included an ample selection, way better than most hotels.

Review 60:No complaints.

Review 61:Walking distance to shops and dining. Very comfy but supportive bed.Mellow older folk not party animals around :) Had great lotion andshower gel too (and I am picky!!!)

Review 62:Rooms need a facelift. The carpets were very stained. Shower head needed replacing.

Review 63:Very good for our purposes. We did not spend much time in the room or around the pool. Quiet and exterior well maintained. Nice pool area and hot tub/spa. Complimentary breakfast was a great addition and decent quality.

Review 64:Unfortunately, I received 4 bug bites, I'm assuming they are bed bug bites. I will be contacting the hotel directly as well so no other guests are affected.

Review 65:Breakfast was good.

Review 66:Main Street is under construction for a Trolley system, so getting in from the Main entrance was a bit harder. But not impossible.

Review 67:The room was nice and large. Beds were space apart with plenty of walk way. Beds were NOT right against the window, like some are. Comfy beds.

Review 68:Construction on the road getting in and out! But was still fairly easy to get to! Ima smoker and wish I could have smoked in the room.

Review 69:The staff was great! They were very accommodating! Wifi service was excellent!!! Ease of access!!! Easy access to smoking area!!!

Review 70:My mom is handicap, and doesn't like eating in the dinning room with everyone. Ok so I'm getting my mom , my kids and I,some food to take back to our room. And your kitchen staff there, said no you have to eat that in in the dinning, I told them about my mom being handicap, and they were all we'll let it go this time. Ok so we called the front office and complained, to them, she said I'll let them know, you can take the food back to your room, because of your mom. So the next morning, the lady didn't know anything about it, I explained it to her, she said ok, but she was watching me, like looking at every piece of food. Ok so, I can only take so much at a time, I told her I'll be back, and she, was all like oooook. Not cool at all. They made it seem like we were taking all the food.

Review 71:The room door did not lock and could easily be entered. The door also dragged on the door frame while opening and closing. The had to be slammed in order to close. The road construction was awful on the main street.

Review 72:The bed was totally comfortable. The facility was clean and the staff were very helpful.

Review 73:This is a nice clean Best Western. I found it a few years ago when looking for a place to stay in Mesa the night before my flight. I now stay every time I go to AZ which is 3 or 4 times a year. Staff is helpful and always willing to answer a question or point me to a good restaurant or shopping. Always clean public areas... like pool area. Plan on staying there anytime I'm in Mesa!

Review 74:nothing.

Review 75:They met every one of our needs. The staff was very helpful and the pool was clean and refreshing. It may be an older bldg but it wasclean and well kept. We have stayed there before and will again.
