Review 1：No hot water and they were too lazy to prepare breakfast! Very untrusting attitude as they require full Payment upfront even so that they suspect you will leave without paying!

Review 3：Was expecting more, the description of the accommodation was misleading...we actually received a room inside a house? Felt very awkward. If I had known, I would have booked into the Protea hotel.

Review 7：Not enough information regarding ordering of meals or booking for lunch... Came to attend a funeral, difficult to fit in with dining room hours, a sandwich would have been nice to order in. With the cold weather warm milk would have made a lovely warm drink (thus request for microwave in future)

Review 9：Reception could not allow us to enter the room until 14:00 the day we arrived but contacted us later to say that we could take up the room! When my partner arrived at the room they wanted my credit card for payment or a cash payment before entering the room. This was not possible because I was busy with appointments and could not go back to the room to make payment. My credit card details were given on booking so do not understand why this should have been a prerequisite before entering the room. Payment could have been made later on my return but this was not acceptable to management, so we went to another lodge where we were welcomed.
Review 10：TV was not working. The staff immediately attempted to reectify the problem. Would prefer a softer pillow.

Review 12：Guests are allowed to smoke in front of their rooms and their smoke came into our room, upon complaining to management we were told the smoker were within his rights to smoke. The guesthouse is also located in a very poor area, we were concerned about the security of our vehicle and there was a lot of noise from the street. Lastly the room and bathroom were not properly cleaned before our visit, we found hair in the shower as well as t he bed.

Review 14：When we arrived we were not welcomed by the host lady. The whole stay she has not greeted us or said a word to my wife. As we came in she asked us when we would have breakfast. We told her 8.30am which she even confirmed later on. The next morning 7.50am one of the workers knocked at the door, woke us up, and shouted the breakfast is ready. We decided to go out immediately to find a cold breakfast on the table. When confronting the host lady this was not the agreement she didn't apologize. Even when we asked her to heat up our plate she was reluctant in doing that. But when our neighbors came out she was friendly and smiling and asking them how they slept and seemed interested in them. They even got hot breakfast served while they were sitting at the table. In the whole time we were there the service was bad. Besides the service the location was also not good. Far from the centre and not a great area. Also the children in the yard making noise and bothering the guests was not nice. We would definitely not recommend this place. There are better and more quiet places in George to stay that are closer to the centre.

Review 16：Located in a downmarket area. Staff not trained & uncommunicative. They did not know where to advise for nearest place to go for meals. Did not explain gate operation or anything else on arrival. Not service orientated. Breakfast was cold and plonked down without a choice of anything beforehand.

Review 18：First of all the location is not good. We cancelled our breakfast well in advance but they do not refund although we did not eat a thing. Wi-Fi is not free and the room had a bad smell especially the fridge that reeked of garlic. I do not at all understand these 10 ratings and I think they should be investigated.

Review 20：1. Double bed size small for two persons. 2. Bed mattress was uncomfortable, I couldn't sleep on it. Finally, I had to sleep on floor. Worst lifetime experience in a hotel room. It was like sleeping on roadside. 3. Room size very small. 4. When we arrived at lodge, the gates were close and we call at few contact numbers to inform owner about arrival as apparently nobody was available to receive guest.

Review 22：When we remarked on cold breakfast it was taken away & micro waved warm ! Not nice. No Ceylon tea not available in room or at breakfast, we were simply given Rooibos tea without be offered the alternative.

Review 24：The rooms were clean Everything we needed was in our room. The setting is perfect. it is safe and secure. The price is unbeatable. The service outstanding. Management caring and involved - it added to the memories of an unforgettable weekend.
Review 25：The part I slept in is right next to the kitchen. As the family lives here and this is a shared kitchen and someone was in the kitchen the first night until about 01h00 the next morning banging cupboards and using the microwave. Maybe B&B’s don’t care about such things anymore. The second night I was so exhausted that I passed out. Don’t know if there was noise as I was just too tired to know. For me what was a little embarrassing was when Nigel went in for breakfast the next day (we were going to pay in cash) he was told it had not been booked and paid for so he couldn’t sit down. I took him and my other guest to a lovely tea room and we had a super breakfast. Interesting enough it also only cost R40 per person. On my return from breakfast to the B&B I went to the kitchen to hand a coffee cup in for washing. The same lady who runs front of house and cooks the breakfast was … wait for it …….. cutting someone’s hair in the kitchen. It appears she runs a hairdressing facility from the kitchen! Would we stay there again …. NO!

Review 32：The room is has everything one would need for a stay, comfortable bed, excellent shower, bar fridge, kettle, tea and coffee. The Lodge has an enclosed patio which is nice and sunny, quiet and a lovely place to sit and read or have a cup of coffee/tea, or just relax.
