Reviews for The Windsor Suites Philadelphia
Review 1:The view from the window wasn't too impressive, you could only see tall buildings all around. The room was poorly lit.
Review 2:The room was spacious and clean, and the location was within walking distance of the main tourist attractions and the bus stops/train stations. We also enjoyed the expresso machine in the kitchenette with complimentary coffee and tea. Good wifi signal. Well equipped kitchenette, saved us a lot of money. Overall, I wouldn't mind if my apartment looked like this.
Review 3:Didn't like tht I paid $42/day for parking which was attached to hotel. Tht there was no comp breakfast or even breakfast area for coffee/juice muffins..bathroom small
Review 4:Nothing, we have no complaints.
Review 5:Spacious and clean, with excellent facilities and a prime location near many of Philadelphia's attractions, the property was an excellent choice. In particular, the exuberant good humour of the front office staff (Zarena, I'm especially talking about you) added to the experience.
Review 6:I HATED that I was made to pay $42 day for parking, that information was not presented prior to booking this property. $42 is very expensive in addition to the room rates. It should be offered complementary as a courtesy to guests or ATLEAST at a lesser amount.
Review 7:The customer service, facilities and location were outstanding...definitely commendable.
Review 8:The staff at the restaurant for the break fast were not as good as those at the reception.
Review 9:The staff were very professional and understanding and quite helpful. The hotel room / apartment is big, clean and well equipped.
Review 10:The building had an older heating system and the entire building is either being chilled or heated. I actually took the heat off and cracked the door open a bit to get a comfortable temperature while I was there.
Review 11:The location is great for a tourist. I stayed on the 14th floor facing the road with an amazing view. The room was clean and well equipped.
Review 12:The hotel parkway is too expensive.
Review 13:The hotel is Beautiful, clean and big. They have a great location in the city and everything is near and can be done by foot.
Review 14:I didn't like how we got a noise complaint from a boring neighbor I guess lol it was NYE I feel like they should have been a little more understanding
Review 15:Loved the 1 bedroom suite it was HUGE perfect for a group of friends for a night out. Will definitely stay again. And will tell others about it
Review 16:Hotel's parking is rather expensive $42/day, but there are cheaper parkings in 5-10 min walking distance. We parked in hotel's parking just for taking our luggage in and had to pay for a day when checking out. The oven's door also didn't close properly.
Review 17:Kitchen with necessary utensils, Walking to most of the attractions, View of Billy Penn, Bathroom, lots of closets, The bed
Review 18:Issues with wifi code but they resolved it.
Review 19:The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The 2 bedroom suite was huge and perfect!! Largest suite I have ever stayed in for the best price!!! Highly recommend!
Review 20:My room was not cleaned one day. I killed a roach in the room. (Should have taken a picture ) The handicapped bathroom was not appropriate for my senior mother. (i.e. no bars near the toilet , a step into tub,) The cost for parking was not mentioned prior to my arrival.
Review 21:The night maintenance man was friendly and helpful. I liked the kitchen facility. The bed was comfortable.
Review 22:Great location. Needed emergency lodging to be close to Hahnemann hospital. Staff were kinder than kind. I told them the purpose of my visit (caring for a sick relative in the hospital) and they went out of their way to help me find places to pick up some items, and they put a beautiful plant in my room with a sweet note of support. Really, this happened. Oh, it was quite, comfortable and clean as well.
Review 23:TV stations limited - no Pay Per View
Review 24:perfect location - we did a City Pass - and went to all the best activities - we walked the city at night and enjoyed every moment - The one bedroom suite had three walk in closest, kitchen - living room - was perfect for our small family and 5 year old to play
Review 25:The water pressure in the shower was low. Seriously that was the only issue.
Review 26:Great location in the museum district, blocks from Center City. Literally dozens of bars and restaurants in a ten minute walk, including two attached to the hotel. A longer but very comfortable walk to the Rocky steps. Hotel room had a full kitchen, lots of closet space and was plenty roomy for the two of us. Will definitely return here for my next trip to Philly.
Review 27:Can be nosy during rush hour. Quite during the night tho
Review 28:Great hotel in great location. Had a king studio room with totally equipped kitchen. Location is right in the city centre walking distance to many restaurants.
Review 29:Excellent location - within the "museum" district - but just a few minutes from "Love" Park, near to City Hall - very well located for people visiting the city. The staff were always friendly and willing to help - and the room/apartment we had was very spacious, well kept and everything was clean. Made for a perfect stay in Philadelphia! :)
Review 30:The hotel is well located between the museum area and downtown Philly. The room (suite) was spacious, clean and comfortable. A special thanks to the crew, they were all helpful and very friendly.
Review 31:I didn't like the fact that there was road work being done ALL NIGHT LONG. Very noisy. They really need to invest in some really good sound proof windows.
Review 32:The staff was very nice and so were the parking attendants.
Review 33:The sofa bed was not very comfortable. The springs were so hard and I had a horrible pain in my back at the next day. But it's ok since the rest of the room was absolutely perfect!
Review 34:The personal staff were so nice, and the guy desk was so kind to us! Also, the effectiveness of the service.
Review 35:What I didn't like is our party booked two suites and due to a huge mess that a previous guest left, our rooms were not ready simultaneously at checkin and so we had rooms thankfully on the same floor but several suites apart. One of the suites had an odd lingering odor ( maybe cigarette smoke, though we reserved non smoking rooms). I felt more effort should have been made to clean this suite or we should not have been given it.
Review 36:I absolutely loved the location very close to shopping, museums, and restaurants.
Review 37:The shower was a little hard to operate and burned me at first. The room was only surface clean as behind the dressers were filthy. The price to park overnight while staying at the hotel was too expensive.
Review 38:I liked the location and the people I encountered at the front desk were very nice.
Review 39:coffe machine available in the room but no milk suger or tea. Poor breakfast in the morning served in the pub nearby.
Review 40:location and the big king size room
Review 41:Very noisy refrigerator in the kitchenette. But you can unplug it. ;)
Review 42:The concierge was extremely helpfull. Good location. Nice lobby. Spacious room
Review 43:Wishing for a hot tub. Dim lighting for putting on makeup.
Review 44:We stay here because we can walk to our daughter's apartment on Spring Garden easily as well as everything in Center City. Like the little kitchenette too, although we rarely use it.
Review 45:Huge room, esp considering the price I paid. Kitchen included. Lovelybalcony with a view. Big comfortable bed, and a clean gym. Staff isfriendly and helpful.
Review 46:Clean, comfortable, quiet room. Good wifi. Communicative, helpful, informed staff. I did not cook in the kitchenette but would have been able to prepare meals easily with the stove top and microwave.
Review 47:The parking charges at €42 per day was not welcome. The hotel should try to negotiate a better price like they did with breakfast.
Review 48:Location, price of hotel, We like Con Murphy's Bar and the arrangement for breakfast at a good price. The receptionist was helpful and the hotel was a good modern hotel
Review 49:When we got there, we heard a scream. It seems that someone had thrown a bottle from one of the balconies down on to a girl seated in a bar area below. She was hurt. This was not properly and immediately handled by the staff. There seemed to be a lack of urgency. In addition, since their computers were down, they mistakenly gave us a room that was already occupied! The whole night was a mess.
Review 50:I did not like the fact that the entire building temperature was dictated by one person. The building is old an unable to run heat and air at the same time. Coming from Florida I did not think it was necessary to have the Heat on. I was very uncomfortable and unable to cool my room sufficiently to allow for good sleep unless the window was left open which meant more noise and dampness due to rain. When inquiring about it I was also met with rudeness and questioned "What would you like me to do about it mam?" Also, the room I received was not like the room pictured when booking. Originally was going to bring the family, had I actually done so I would have needed a different room.
Review 51:The cleaning ladies that visited the room were both pleasant, helpful and did a wonderful job insuring my comfort.
Review 52:Slight plumbing issue with the shower/bath drain and bathroom sink. Water took a very long time to drain however we did not raise this issue with the hotel as it was a minor inconvenience.
Review 53:Great location and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a king suite and loved the fully equipt kitchen and spacious room. The Irish Pub and Asian restaurant attached were both excellent, the food was delicious!
Review 54:Nothing. Just loved our stay.
Review 55:Everything you need and central to the best of Philadelphia's Museums. Huge suite. Food market a ten minute walk. Desk staff gave us tourist details and directions.
Review 56:We waned a nice getaway, and we had a nice relaxing time away from kids and the neighborhood. place is close to art museum and reading terminal and some nice restaurants. It was a nice romantic night
Review 57:Only complaint was poor quality of extra beds. Main bed was fine, but sofa bed and roll-away bed were really very lumpy and uncomfortable - should be replaced!
Review 58:Location was great. Staff was very pleasant. Space in room was quite nice for a week long stay.
Review 59:Restaurant/bar located inside the hotel could've been better.
Review 60:Very friendly and helpful staff. The location was walking distance to good restaurants and bars.
Review 61:Hot water situation. The water was very hot . I had facilities check it out , but it was still very hot , although better.
Review 62:Location was great & having an apartment was a great feature
Review 63:Only criticism was that Con Murphy, the bar/restaurant adjacent to the Windsor Suites served mediocre coffee. Tried their coffee three times and it was always very poor. I always look forward to great coffee in U.S. and this was a get disappointment
Review 64:Good location,in city centre so easy to get around on foot. Would recommend staying here.very friendly staff.
Review 65:The ONLY minor suggestion I would make is a larger Coffee Mug in the stocked Kitchenettes. The ones supplied are a wee bit too tiny for the morning.
Review 66:EVERYTHING!
Review 67:As so often in US the Aircon was not possible to fully control and we were cold in the rooms. We were not the only ones to have this problem.
Review 68:Its actually an appartment block Convhyerted so the rooms and studios are big and well equipped. The Con Murphys Irish bar and restaurant does great food.
Review 69:Bugs in hotel room told front desk did nothing. Killed multiple million legger bugs in room. Also told front desk heat would not work, they said they have two pipe system and not to turn unit on because cold air will blow out because their heat wasn't turned on. It was cold at night and nothing was done. Maid service did not come til after 5/6 pm.
Review 70:Bed comfy
Review 71:Only one thing: was not able to turn heating on in room.
Review 72:Central location down town walking distance from the train station and convenience stores to stock up on food; nice local places to eat. Very spacious room; clean airy; and very courteous staff.
Review 73:The bar is not as intetesting as I would prefer
Review 74:Having no life plan of any kind, I landed here for the typical overnighter. However, I coincidentally overheard another party making an inquiry re Extended Stay; Apartments for rent. I jumped at the opportunity to rent but could not then, rather took an Extended Stay option until a unit is ready. I am sold!
Review 75:The location is terrific! Walking distance to the Barnes Collection, other museums, Rittenhouse Square, Center City, etc. And the Windsor Suites staff is amongst the friendliest ever! Our thanks to manager Jared and Zarina at the front desk. Very accommodating. Our one-bedroom suite was very spacious and comfortable.Very good value.
Review 76:The room was serviced after the 1st night but not cleaned thoroughly and no water bottles were left like we had the first day.
Review 77:Nice large rooms that have been recently redone. Great location with views of the city and a short walk to city hall. Rode the Phlash bus for free as a senior to get around.
Review 78:the parking attendant-enough said
Review 79:The front desk staff went above and beyond! The housekeeping staff-I swear the rooms appear cleaner every stay, but they've been immaculate every time.
Review 80:Because of the Pope, and road closures, we had to walk several blocks to reach a street with taxis. But I imagine this wouldn't normally be a problem for this location. One other quirk was the fridge door opened the wrong way...odd
Review 81:Location and space.
Review 82:Parking is outrageous! I live in Los Angeles and it's cheaper here. Also, the pool was supposed to be open until 7pm, but it was closed and there were no chairs/tables. And NO SPA!
Review 83:Great locations and very friendly staff.
Review 84:Everything was great
Review 85:Love the staff and facility, room was more than wonderful.Nice and spacious...we both enjoyed..kitchen was clean and very accomadating.Bed was sooooo comfortable, and balcony was perfect.
Review 86:Parking. To expensive, if we are staying at the hotel a discount would be a plus.
Review 87:The front desk was very helpful. They made sure our stay at the hotel was memorable and pleasant.
Review 88:This hotel bit over priced we were not told the pool was closed before 14 sept or would of booked some where else The woman on reception very rude when complained.
Review 89:The beds were comfy. Good location. Good bar We had a free breakfast.
Review 90:The location was very convenient to all the art museums we wanted to visit. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were even able to walk to a nice restaurant for dinner.
Review 91:Sofa bed was nothing but hard springs. parking is no fun, as entry drive space is extremely tiny for dropping bags and/or having car parked.
Review 92:very accommodating staff and HUGE suites. kitchen was very useful and well stocked, including even a dishwasher! The location was also fantastic for walking about (the City Hall building is amazing!) and getting a few good meals.
Review 93:Sad to see so many Homeless people in the surrounding streets. Obviously not the Hotel's fault but were are our ever increasing tax dollars going?
Review 94:The Beds were so comfortable with soft sheets.
Review 95:family was all together even though we were in separate rooms but next to each other breakfast was fun sitting on a dining table home to home comfort.
Review 96:i paid 99.00 to park to cars overnight. This information was not communicated prior to checking I'm, and once there I had no choice but to accept it; it was too late to get another hotel. They gave me a room with sleeping accommodations for 4 people and there were 5 in my group. I asked for a rollaway bed and they to.d me that was a 20.00 charge. They were aware there were 5 people booked for the room, yet I was going to have to pay extra so everyone would have a place to sleep! I insisted on a room change and it was granted begrudgingly. Upon getting to the new room the pull out sofa did not have lines. I called for linens and was given sheets only. When I asked for a blanket no pillows the response was one of exasperation!
Review 97:The location, and size of the room
Review 98:No maid service for 2 of the five days we were there. Long wait, at times for car retrieval. Pool was very cold and not heated.
Review 99:Staff was nice. Room size was generous.
Review 100:Cons: Hard to keep the room cool as the thermostat is right over the air conditioner. Kitchenette is poorly equiped. We needed to ask for basics.
Review 101:Pros: staff were excellent and helpful. Location was first rate. Price was very good.
Review 102:Everything was fine. The only problem we had was the wifi was not strong enough.
Review 103:The staff were great. The location was convenient close to a lot of places. The suite was very spacious. Overall a great weekend at windsors
Review 104:set up room Roll out bed was ridiculous - needs new mattress Dinning space needs abeyance - Picture or stenciled saying - plant another chair - four people room not enough chairs for cards Suggestion - 2 folding chairs in closet
Review 105:Location
Review 106:Parking was only available at high costs ($85 for 2 nights) but this was not mentioned anywhere on the website so it came as an unpleasant surprise.
Review 107:Nice and comfortable rooms. The swimming pool was also a big plus.
Review 108:Expensive parking at $42.
Review 109:The location was perfect! The hotel was very clean and the staff was very professional, especially Wade who was very helpful with us selecting bars and clubs in area; even made us a map!
Review 110:We did not have something we didnt like. All were as described.
Review 111:The staff, especisally at the reception, were very polite and provided excellent service to every request. The room was big and with excellent facilities The location was excellent.
Review 112:Our suite was beautiful - big room with the most comfortable bed in our life, kitchen, bath, two closets. This is very nice hotel in the centre of Philly. We every evening looked forward their bed.
Review 113:Long wait for elevators. Beds were small. Mattress and pillows uncomfortable. Felt more like a residential building than a hotel.
Review 114:Very helpful and courteous staff. Room was spacious. Nice view from our room.
Review 115:Awesome staff, very helpful. Hotel was perfectly situated close on the bus route, walking distance to all attractions(if u up for walking). Rooms were spacious
Review 116:- Receptionist definitely was not a warm and inviting type. When your job as the receptionist is to be the face of your hotel's hosting committee, perhaps you should be just a tad more welcoming. (She wasn't awful, by any means.) - Although this is not anyone's fault, the pool doesn't get much sun until late in the afternoon. Having booked at this hotel mainly because of the pool, this was a diaaapppoontment. Again, not their fault... Also, SO many kids at the pool, running around, yelling, and shoving each other in-- did not make for a relaxing atmosphere. (Perhaps the "pool rules" should be improved in that regard.)
Review 117:- The room was great: large, full of closets, and nicely laid out. - The location
Review 118:I just wished I had realized before booking that there was no free parking. Spent about $100 in parking fees at hotel and meter parking in just 2 days.
Review 119:Comfortable and clean.
Review 120:Extremely clean. Very helpful staff at front desk. Relaxing roof top pool. Amazing and helpful administrators when I had to resolve a problem with parking garage who are separate company
Review 121:The kitchen could have been a little better equipped. With one saucepan and a frying pan, cooking a full meal would have been challenging!
Review 122:Great location - within walking distance of many attractions and very close to local station and bus routes. Also a very comfortable, large room which was very clean. There were two good restaurants at the entrance to the hotel and many more within a very short walking distance.
Review 123:The pool was VERY cold!
Review 124:Really helpful and friendly staff who found us information and a shuttle to the sightseeing bus tour and great advice on places to eat.
Review 125:Parking was a bit of a pain. Couldnt just go get something out of the car, had to have the Valet get it or bring it up.
Review 126:Friendly, clean, great location
Review 127:The hotel position in at the center of all tourist attractions. We entered before check in and we got immediately an excellent room with all facilities. We enjoyed a big pool on the roof, will recommend this hotel.
Review 128:Great central location, great price. A little dated, but surprisingly spacious and comfortable, especially for the price. All staff were quite professional and very friendly. Most importantly, I left a small tablet and charger and didn't call to check for several days after checkout. The housekeeper had turned the items in and the staff went out of their way to find them and send them on to me, very well packed.
Review 129:Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and spacious. LOVED having a balcony! Price and availability was acceptional. Will definetely be recommending to friends and family.
Review 130:Nothing bad.
Review 131:We had a late check in, and the night counterman was an absolute delight. The bellhops were extremely pleasant, as well. The room had a king mattress, full kitchen, full bathroom AND a walk-in closet. For the price paid, this was more than enough. We also only stayed one night, had not included breakfast, and did not make use of the kitchen... but everything was at our fingertips should we have wanted to use them. Even the view was quite nice. Overall, wonderful hotel and staff.
Review 132:Our stay was lovely. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The staff was also very attentive to any of our needs. A perfect stop to end a week vacation with 3 small children or just the perfect stay any day
