Review 1：The room was not fully made up and the pictures on the wall falling apart. A bit shabby and not very clean.

Review 3：I didn't like the fact that I was put into a room that was for a single person , when I paid cash the full amount when I arrived. like the toilet and bathroom was all open plan and that room was really small but after requesting to speak to someone who was higher than the black guy that was there , that manger the black guy changed my room . Can't understand why he did that

Review 7：The total standard of the rooms and hotel does not correspond with the price per night (if you compare with similiar locations and room standard in RSA). This was my second time at Canelands.

Review 15：Rooms too light for our taste at night. The pilot lights on the switches were too bright. Also, sadly, the mirror in room 6 should not face the bed. A bit disconcerting. The bath in room 6 is a bit dangerous for us oldies as it is not easy to get in and out of, and is slippery.

Review 16：The friendliness and efficiency of all your staff. The atmosphere of tranquillity and cleanliness and the unobtrusive room servicing. Your showers are super and the beds very comfortable. The champagne, rose petals and chocolate muffin, with candle, for a birthday surprise was the icing on the cake. Thank you.

Review 17：- staff were polite and friendly but it lacked that special touch from a manager. No-one made us feel really special, which I think is needed in a small boutique hotel - it lacks atmosphere - breakfast was fair - cappuccinos made with long life milk - step broken for all 3 days we were there with a sign saying "caution step broken". Why not just fix the step?

Review 47：This is a magical place, and the service was more than excellent.

Review 48：I didnt like that we found 2 bees in our bed the first night, they were dead but given how cold the weather was when we visited... those bees did not arrive there on the day or the day before we arrived. those bees were there for a while. the same with the shower... there was a bee in the shower and it seemed as if the room was not inspected before we stayed there. the place does need some maintenance the chairs were tearing from wear and tear and the blinds were scrambled also, there are quite a few dirt marks in the cupboards and curtains and against the walls... some dry cleaning would help.

Review 50：The guest house is very modern and have huge open space, with double volume, which makes the space VERY noisy! Every morning at 6am I was woken up by the staff talking loudly and moving furniture. Was not a great experience.

Review 53：The location of this guesthouse is perfect - veranda with 180 degree sea view right on the beach. All in one service - we had drinks and meals at this guesthouse and could truely rest since we did not have to drive around.

Were given others but they were still a bit too hard/thick. Food was V-good, personell very helpful. Because of the weak Rand, everything was WAY cheap! Close to good shopping, the airport, Durban itself and loads more. Saw dolfins from the breakfast table on 3 mornings. View from the deck and the sound of the waves crashing 30 meters away is just great!

Review 58：Room too small. Only 1 tiny dustbin in bathroom (and lid was broken). No soap dish on the bath vanity top, so top was slippery and untidy. Had to ask for extension cord for the kettle. (Received a huge one that sat on top of the dresser) Only 4-5 programmes on tv. No bin to throw the teas/sugars/coffee papers. No hairdryer. Overall, small touches not good enough and just a little inconvenient for the price charged.
