Reviews for The Ridge Tahoe
Review 1:The resort itself is great. However booking.com says I can check out 12pm instead of 10am since I booked as a genius (stated so in my confirmation email), but the resort says they never allow late check out.
Review 2:It feels home.
Review 3:The pull out coach is not suitable for sleeping adults and should be upgraded. Roll - away was awful.,need new mattresses ( and difficult to come by as well) Property should have assigned parking (1 spot per room - had to park in the street 4 out of 7 days during snow storms) . Property should disclose they cannot sell Heavenly lift tickets on site - ( we suggest you to buy through the Sierra club for extra savings !)
Review 4:The property location , amenities and extra transportation is excellent ! The amenities and staff were all friendly and helpful. Definitely would return!
Review 5:Facility didn't feel clean, lack of amenities and poor customer service when called to report broken coffee pot and desire for more coffee. Complete lack of organization when alarm went off causing evacuation of building.
Review 6:location is only convenient to heavenly only. really expensive and over priced. poor snow plowing meant that chains / four wheel drive was pretty much required to get to the resort; the whole place needs updating
Review 7:room had a microwave and a fridge; snow shoe rentals and trails available on site; hot tubs in every building.
Review 8:The water temperature was too hot to the point that it is dangerous for kids. Even when we just used the cold water, a burst of super hot water would come out, and it nearly scalded us! The thermostat was not accessible in our unit, so we were sweating bullets until staff came to correct it, which by the way took at least 1 hour for them to come assist. When we asked, a staff lady suggested to open our window. Open our window?!?! In the middle of winter with freezing temp outside and we are about to sleep (incl our young children who had colds)?! Seriously? She suggested this, saying that there were no staff past 9 p.m.... Wait... in a 24 hour hotel... no staff past 9 pm? That's unheard of! Also, when we checked in, the lady who registered us told me that we had a small kitchenette, and I specifically asked her if there was a sink (separate from the bathroom), and she confidently said yes. There was no additional sink. No kitchenette either. They need to train their staff better about the definition of a kitchenette: a microwave and mini-fridge does NOT constitute a kitchenette. Please please please know your services and amenities before you look like fools to the guests!!!
Review 9:The hotel is 15 minutes drive from the city up the montain. If you want to go out it is a far drive coming back and forward.
Review 10:The hotel was great. The room was comfortable and big. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you can. think or need. The bathroom amazing with private Jaccuzi. Thr facilities of the hotel were great: the swiming pull indoor and out door, squash court, tennis court, ping pong. And in every building there is small spa with Jacuzzi and sauna.
Review 11:No balcony's to enjoy the great views.
Review 12:We were impressed with the room. Very well maintained, clean, comfortable. We can not wait to come and stay again.
Review 13:Reservation was messed up. resort claims they did not receive the amendment we made through you which caused a huge problem with check in and check out.
Review 14:The view
Review 15:They could not find my reservation somebody messed up but I had the confirmation to show them
Review 16:They could not find my reservation they upgraded me to a larger beautiful suite at same price
Review 17:Service and the room
Review 18:Very disappointed in the service and our room . I happen to be an owner there , and was very disappointed in both the service and our room .
Review 19:The room overheats with the chained window in spite of the very good ceiling fan and an additional fan working
Review 20:The view and the spacious granite bath rooms
Review 21:The Ridge is an amazing place to stay. When we travel to Tahoe this is our #1 choice. The staff, the facilities, everything about The Tahoe Ridge is fantastic.
Review 22:There is No Air Conditioning at this hotel. The windows are semi-operable but when opened there is a loud whistling noise so you must choose between cooling the room and sleeping. Very remote location. Room lacked shampoo and coffee. Wall had a hole in it.
Review 23:Views are OK.
Review 24:WiFi was spotty. We arrived on a weekend when there were weddings and so the bar "happy hour" was confined to a couple of tables and a makeshift bar. Nearby restaurants are few.
Review 25:Location near hiking but 15 minutes from the lake. The staff was very friendly, especially the waitress at the bar on tapas night.
Review 26:More updating in the Lobby and other Hotel buildings would be nice.
Review 27:The hotel rooms were upgraded very nicely in "The Plaza" building. The amenities are extremely nice.
Review 28:It is for young families and not for seniors hoping for a nice quiet dinner and spectacular view…got neither.
Review 29:We got a room upgrade after a long wait to check in. The restaurant was closed and there was nothing to do. Very crowded/
Review 30:Wi-Fi was very slow. "Jacuzzi" at the main office was broke and has now been renamed to a "soaking tub." Fix it.
Review 31:Good views, nice pools and hot tubs, good parking and an excellent fitness facility.
Review 32:The restaurant is only open a few days a week. So have to make the 20 min hike to South Lake Tahoe if you want a nice dinner.
Review 33:The room was great. All comforts of home that are needed on a vacation.
Review 34:In room, only 1 regular coffee, no decaf. Left a note with some money,to leave a decaf also. As asked, left only "dirty" towels onfloor in bathroom. Because of the 4th of July, no housekeeping, not evena change of towels and no coffee etc. I did not really expect this.....
Review 35:Nice accomodations.
Review 36:Pushing 90 degree days with no AC made it a little uncomfortable.
Review 37:Nice quiet away from the strip, tons of stuff to do on site. Large enough unit for relaxing like being at home!
Review 38:Check-in time was 4 pm and check-out was 10 am. We arrived at 1 pm and checked in. Room was not available and came back at 3:30 and still wasn't available. And finally came back at 4:10 and room was still not available. The young receptionist got on the phone and gave us the keys and told us by the time we drive to the room, it should be available. She also gave us an attitude that check-in "starts" at 4 pm. Wow. We triple check and they didn't think to call and tell cleaners to work on our room since we were waiting.
Review 39:The 1 bedroom suite was nice. TV, bed, and large room was nice.
Review 40:Very late checkin an early checkout. Can be a bit hard finding the right property out of 5-6 and if you go too far the loop is one way so you have to circle back.
Review 41:Great location with nice views. Fully equipped kitchen.
Review 42:The room wasn't as described so didn't even have a window that opened never mind a balcony. Nor did we get a full kitchen just a mini kitchenette that blew a fuse if you used the microwave and coffee machine at the same time, the room was spacious though with sofa and dining chair, matters on bed was adjustable and the bathroom was large and luxury, though dated. didn't like that the room was a connecting room as though the door was locked felt a loss of privacy. There were enough facilities to use but there was plenty that were shut for the season, thought we did well to enjoy an upstairs lounge in main reception building where we could relax nr the bar area watch tv enjoy the ambiance but its restaurant was closed and they shut off the whole floor the next night for a private party. in outdoor pool was ok but would benefit from a deep clean on wall of windows. but enjoyed the roof top hot tub and BBQ on our building and the underground car park. felt very expensive for reduced facilities though.
Review 43:The facilities that were open were fine or good, for end of season
Review 44:Everything was perfect but a complimentary breakfast would have been cool for what we paid. No complaints though! Our room was spectacular!!!
Review 45:This was the best vacation my boyfriend and I have ever taken. The Ridge was the BEST place we could have stayed for our visit. I felt like the president when we walked into the room and was so grateful about everything in the Ridge! The staff was extremely friendly and the view was absolutely breathtaking!! I highly recommend young couple and even all couples stay at the Ridge. We will be coming back to stay here in the future.
Review 46:Wifi unreliable . Have constantly to re enter password and disconnected very often . Very busy Pools and jaccuzzis always packed
Review 47:Health club amenities
Review 48:Indoor spa was not filled with water in the building where the room is at. Locker shower room, exercise room, and swimming pool can be updated.
Review 49:Clean room and comfortable bed. Free shuttle service.
Review 50:The room smelt a little funky and was unable to open the window to air the room out. Bed did not want to agust with the sleep number system.
Review 51:Room was nice, good location, spa with a great view, great staff.
Review 52:The bed was a SleepComfort but the remote to control the comfort wasn't working and the bed was way too hard for my needs. Also, extra pillows available would have been nice.
Review 53:Very clean, nice roomy room, liked the two separate bathroom sink/vanities such my friend & I could each have our own. Really appreciated the free Shuttle Bus. Didn't have to do any driving while there.
Review 54:Didn't like the late check in, and early checkout, especially when u only stay one night, and the pools, hot tub and lounge should stay open later
Review 55:The bed was a sleep number bed, couldnt really adjust it right it was weird, comfy at 1st then would randomly be really hard . But cant complain it was clean.
Review 56:The big bubble tub:) good size . Clean.
Review 57:I would have preferred a different coffee maker, only downside, if not having a more modern coffee system. The market in the club house could have more variety and lower prices.
Review 58:Everything about the two-bedroom suite was comfortable, spacey and very comfortable. The staff is very friendly.
Review 59:Needs updating. Sleep number bed didn't work well. Should extend hours for on site activities such as out side spa, indoor tennis court etc.
Review 60:On site amenities and free tram to casinos
Review 61:Heater makes horrible noise when it turns off. Noising children running up and down hallways. Thin walls to hear people in the next suite. Not good when on your honeymoon to be placed next to a loud family with uncontrollable children doing what they please. Would like more resort bathroom accessories, they only provide soap and not any lotion which is greatly needed with such dry weather.
Review 62:2 bedroom suite is very comfortable. Staff is very friendly, except for the front desk at night. Didn't feel welcomed when I had requested a higher floor unit and to make my honeymoon special for my bride. Nothing was done to welcome us as honeymooners.
Review 63:Two parties stayed in our 2 bedroom condo. Would like to have been able to Park both cars inside vs one outside.
Review 64:Convenience, clean and comfortable. Will definitely use again. Location near Stagecoach Nevada side entrance, restaurant, spa, market store, shuttle, express tram, video rental and ski rental were all convenient. Stayed in Nagle 10 tower and thought it was great.
Review 65:The wifi was spotty.
Review 66:Staff was very helpful in getting our two units together. Housekeeping checked on us every morning to see if we needed anything. The units were very nice and had enough kitchen items for all of us.
Review 67:late check ins and too early are the check outs.
Review 68:I have stayed many times at the Ridge. I think I have stayed in every complex. I love having the hot tub just outside my room. I love the fact that it has covered parking, could use a few more parking places. If I never want to journey back down the hill, there is plenty to do right there.
Review 69:No snow. Tried to extend our stay at the same rate for a Monday night and staff not helpful or interested
Review 70:Location is unbeatable. Amazing vistas and who doesn't like an outdoor hot tub. Well worth the cash
Review 71:I liked everything.
Review 72:I liked our stay, room was very clean with awesome view. We saw sun rise from our room, which was different experience. Bathroom was good too. We had huge tub. We enjoyed each moments which We spend there. I highly recommend this hotel specially for couples.
Review 73:The only bad things were no AC so the Condos can get really hot and that the Trash trucks arrive at 6:30 am on Thursday Mornings and the Trash dumpsters were placed below some of the condo Master Bedrooms. They should relocate the Trash bins for the guests comfort!
Review 74:There are pools and Jacuzzis every where and the layout is very Family Friendly!
Review 75:Location is far from summer activities with limited things to do on site. If you aren't a timeshare owner at this property, you get the un-remodeled units which aren't nearly as nice as the photos. The restaurant on site is only open 2 nights a week, the other option is a deli counter with limited hours. We rented a hotel room, which was supposed to be newly remodeled but the bathroom showed considerable wear and the toilet rocked back & forth. We also traded a timeshare week for a condo and the carpet was so filthy you had to keep shoes on all the time or the bottoms of your feet became black. When we notified staff, we were told the unit was scheduled for remodeling so nothing would be done about it until then. The furniture was equally dirty and worn. This is supposed to be a premium resort, on par with Marriott and Wyndam, it isn't even close.
Review 76:Staff are well trained, polite and very pleasant.
Review 77:The contradicting manner in which the staff members tried to over rule eachother and the harrassment of security
Review 78:The rooms...bed...cleaning staff...shuttle staff...front desk staff....C.J. the concierge...Nina the assistant manager...the director of security and Dan the general manager all were awesome. Jeff the assistant manager and Carlos of security were arrogant and on a major power trip...and were very harrassing...if you have toys do not take them with you because some of the staff will make it very inconvenient for you
Review 79:I waited 20 minutes on hold when I called the front desk. Ridiculous!
Review 80:We enjoyed all the activities there was to do. We had kids ranging from 17 to 8 and there was something for everyone. Our room was big. We had a 2 room suite. Very clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend hit.
Review 81:Check out time was 10:00 a.m., I wish we have had more time to pack and shower.
Review 82:Very comfortable. Great for big groups. Free shuttle. Fun recreation room for the kids.
Review 83:Early checkout
Review 84:Location and value great
Review 85:The view! Nice rooms, quiet. Nice pools and hot tubs.
Review 86:Great recreation options. Great value.
Review 87:The location is a little bit old and old-fashioned.but everything was nice
Review 88:Our room was beautiful with a fantastic view.everything was clean.
Review 89:No air conditioning
Review 90:Great view
Review 91:We love the location, as we had our wedding reception there 5 years ago and enjoy returning on our Anniversary.
Review 92:The sleep number bed was deflated on one side
Review 93:Shuttle was great, location was also
Review 94:The pool a little bit small
Review 95:The place its so beautiful!
Review 96:The only thing have to complain about is the fact that you have to pay for wifi and on top of that it doesn't even work very well
Review 97:Everything
Review 98:No air conditioning Paying for wi-fi
Review 99:Location various offerings. Nice large room
Review 100:The views and the pools!
Review 101:There was no option for a two-bed stay without paying MUCH more for the 2 bedroom suite. I just brought an air mattress, instead.
Review 102:Nothing bad here.
Review 103:Beautiful facility. Room was outstanding. The bathroom itself was worth the fee!
Review 104:Service
Review 105:View
Review 106:I guess I am an early riser, the breakfast at the Clubhouse didn't open until 0730hrs. I couldn't wait!
Review 107:The tons of ways to relax
Review 108:I loved the view, the Jacuzzi in the bathroom and the sleep number bed! Awesome!
Review 109:Mattress
Review 110:Need to take a shuttle to Lake or drive
Review 111:Two pools, restaurants, theater...
Review 112:everything was very nice in my experience.
Review 113:No AC in room. Internet should be free for paying guests.
Review 114:Rooms were clean and awesome views!
Review 115:We could hear our next door neighbors late until the night :(
Review 116:Great amenities.
Review 117:Everything was great.
Review 118:Staff went out of their way to make us comfortable.
Review 119:Not your fault. The weather was horrible.
Review 120:Beautiful location. Would like to stay for a longer period of time to enjoy.
Review 121:Having to pay for wifi and cleaning services. Size of room and amenities could have been better for price paid
Review 122:They couldn't find our reservation so we had to wait a while. However, they worked it all out and everything went well.
Review 123:Lack of chairs and table.
Review 124:Friendly, professional staff. Classy room, great bar and good food in deli.
Review 125:Our room had no full length mirror, could have used a couple more way finding signs.
Review 126:Great view and so much to do.
Review 127:Kitchenette, Waiting to check in.
Review 128:View, Room, Bed
Review 129:Only one elevator for the entire Tower, 11 floors and early checkout time is horrible. I have a bad back and needed to ask for help to get my belongings to my room on the 8th floor when I arrived and then when I left. 10:00 AM is too early for check out, especially when there is only one cart and one elevator. I asked for a courtesy late check out for 11:00 because I knew trying to get out and use the elevator would be a ridiculous wait, especially when I was on the 8th floor.
Review 130:Housekeeping was amazing. Very caring in needs. View was amazing, I was there for a wedding and the entire event was just beautiful. The reception buffet was the most tasty I've ever enjoyed.
