Review 1：Carpets in room very dirty and stained Guest (youngsters and some older guest) makes a lot of noise at the pool area up to 12 and 3 am(lots of drinking and misbehaving) thus disturbing the guest There should be a curfew of locking the pool gate at about plus minus 10pm and a security presence around.

Review 3：Staff was very fiendly and helpfull, absolute value for money. Swimming pool is very important and was always clean. Like the new daily menu for lunch and dinner options. Staff sorted problem with noisy swimmers very quickly.

Review 12：The air conditioner is as noisy as a helicopter...terrible. Disputes the bed being comfortable, the pillows are the hardest I've ever experienced...why must they be rock hard? Windows were very dirty as well as the window sills. Chairs in bedroom full of stains. The bath is the smallest I've ever seen in an hotel. Safe was faulty. I reported it and it was not repaired. View from the bedroom was directly inline with the hotel entrance canopy...so no view at all.

Review 13：We found the undercover parking very useful. The bed is a king size and fairly comfortable. The room is very big, with lots of waisted space.

Review 14：The room was not prepared as there were no soap etc. The bed was drawn when I entered the room at 15h00. I also did not receive a receipt and was told that I can only get it once I book out. This did not happen and I am still waiting for the receipt.

Review 15：We unfortunately had a large school group staying at the same time..... they were unbelievably noisy; banging on walls and doors at all hours; TV on full blast etc etc. Teachers were not around to see, hear or to discipline!

Review 16：1. wish u have a lifeguard on your pool 2. we expected someone at the entrance at least to welcome us wth a smile instead was a security guard who cldnt evn replied to our greeting. 3 I wish there was someone to take guests to the rooms as we had problmes in opening doors fo the 1st time. We struggled and there was no one to help.3 Hampshire Hotel is on the highway yes, but its difficult to see the sign from the highway bcz of trees. Hence making it so hard to locate it. Jst try and put sign evn on the highway.

There were guests that were very noisy from 22:00 until 01:00 & if I didn't contact the front desk to complain, nothing was done about it, however, 5 minutes after my call, it went quiet! Also missed having dinner in the Hotel. When you've been working all day, you don't still feel like looking for something to eat & the delivery meals are inevitably horrible & ice cold by the time you get it!

Review 22：We wanted somewhere convenient for an early morning flight and this was ideal. Just a 15 minute drive to the airport on a fast road. It is what I would call a business hotel. Large rooms with fridge, microwave, tea/coffee making facility, iron, safety deposit box and air con. The place was clean and there was little noise from inside the hotel. While next to the main highway, traffic noise was not an issue. The staff were most helpful and pleasant. Free wifi in the room and plenty of free secure underground parking. No restaurant for evening meals, but there are several in the shopping complex a couple of minutes drive away. Overall, a good find.

Review 23：1. I didnt like the area too close to the freeway it was too noisy for us. 2. I didnt like that you didnt have your Hotel information booklets(with numbers) next to your phones in the room, so we had to use our cellphones to phone reception. 3. I didnt like the breakfast,food was cold, bacon was burnt and i also think you need to buy one of those big rotating toasters they are very quick instead of waiting in the que to make toast

Review 25：There are obviously new staff, who were certainly not friendly - just doing their jobs attitude - no passion. The check in process was an abortion -- i booked through bookings.com. I checked in late - there were still lots of people to check in and I and others were told there are no rooms. Even though we had confirmation. They "made a plan" and then booked & charged me for 1 night when staying 2 nights. Which they had to rectify again after I brought it to their attention. Not impressed.

Review 26：I have stayed numerous times at Hampshire, and the only thing that Hampshire has going for it NOW is the room size and the fact that some rooms have 2 x dbl beds which cater for families.

Review 33：I found the shelf above the taps in the bath really grubby. I have a photo. the carpet was full of marks. To shower in the bath for us being over 50 was really dangerous as it was so slippery and we placed a towel over stain marks, We loved the complimentary breakfast but found items depleted and what was over dried out, like the bacon. We having to get in the car to go where we wanted to go, was stressful, we wish to park and be able to reach restaurant's easily.

Review 59：Only reason I booked this hotel was because of the free airport shuttle so when arriving at the airport and finding out there isn't one then risking taking a taxi that cost R375 is ridiculous, this needs to be taken off the website if it's a lie. Then it was only about 8pm and I was told the Kitchen and cupboards were locked so I wasn't able to get any food, not even a bottle of water! Not impressed.

Review 67：The filthy, dirty bathroom. There was old urine on the floor which stank. There was hair in the shower. Our towels were old and looked grey. We asked for a quiet room. They gave us a room above the pool area where the ANC were having a party for Human Rights Day. It went on into the early hours of the morning. At 6am, the party resumed again. The people were swimming in their underwear and underpants. Shocking and disgusting.

As a lady traveling alone security was a concern as there are only one security guard outside the hotel and You can access the hotel from underground parking via an elevator directly onto your floor. Review 76：At first the aircon didn't want to work i phoned front desk after ringing for 5 min someone finally answered. I informed them of the aircon and they said that the maintenance worker has gone home already but they will se what they could do. She said she would phone me back now. Roughly 10min passed and all of a sudden the aircon started on its own, but stil i couldn't operate the temperature pannel that was still not working. But atleast the aircon was on. So I phoned the front desk again to notify them that it is working now. And they totally forgot about my previous call. She then said do you still want to change rooms??? I never asked to change rooms and she never offered it on the first call. So i just said no.

However the shuttleservice meant that the reception could book a taxi. Duh, we could have done that ourselves.... The coffee and amenities was still from previous people that stayed in the room. The iron was replaced, the hairdryer never got fixed and the toilet broke several more times.

Review 98：Large comfortable bed and room. We used Hampshire Hotel - Ballito as a stopover from Northern Natal to Durban. It is not too far from the airport and we were able to catch an early flight the next morning. There are also a number of places to eat close to the hotel.

Room size was way to small yet the hotel has bigger rooms, the camp cot requested was squeezed in, in the middle of the walk way just as you open the room door. Air conditioning was leaking yet it had been fixed by maintenance leaving us with a damp carpet. Bedding was not changed just reset every day. To many flying ants lying dead in the corridor and was not attended to in 3 days. Pool had many insects as well. Wifi is extremely slow.

Review 117：I did not like the fact that I could not change the bedroom (2 queen size beds). I was told that it would cost me more than what I was quoted to change - this was months before the date of my arrival. Surrounding area of pool can be improved with some shrubs/greenery etc to soften the "barren look" and make attractive. - shade needed. Staff do not have much knowledge or interaction with booking.com.

We arrived late at night and although there were some staff in the lobby, we had to lug the suitcases to our rooms in the large hotel trolley ourselves. The wifi did not work in the room. To change from the large King room to a twin rooms we had to pay a significant extra amount.
