Reviews for Grand Vista Hotel

Review 1:Nothing negative

Review 2:Loved the evening front desk employee, Kathleen! Room was wonderfully clean and loved the bed and pillows. Everything is just so nice!

Review 3:the pool needs to be warmer. the first step on the hot tub is very awkward to step into way to deep of a step could loose balance and fall and get hurt. when trying to get out I have to crawl out on my knees and then try to step up, very slippery!!! I come to this hotel all the time, and have the same problems every time. could use more towels.

Review 4:I like having the pool and hot tub. I have come to this hotel many times and this is always my choice.

Review 5:Breakfast was not included on the room rate. However, an additional of US$ 8,95 per person for a full breakfast buffet is a bargain!!

Review 6:Close to most of the wineries and to the Colorado National Monument.

Review 7:I after staying for over a month at the Grand Vista my debit card didnot work upon check in, I offered to give cash for the incidental$fifty$ dollar ghost charge. So instead of working with the payingcustomer, they sent me out in to the cold. The Ramada took care of meand have a nicer place to stay.

Review 8:I love the location to the airport. The shuttle service is prompt and fast. I have stayed at the Grand Vista Hotel before and it is always consistent in price, cleanliness and comfort.

Review 9:The hotel was very dated - and our room, while clean, seemed to be in fair condition. Peeling wallpaper, poor housekeeping practices in the bathroom left hairs and dust on the floor.

Review 10:Staff was very friendly and helpful. Close to I-70 and a number of restaurants and services. Parking lot was well lit and in a nice area.

Review 11:Wifi was intermittent. The wifi signal from the hotel next door was actually stronger. Dining options were expensive. Funny smell in hallway and room. Bed comfort was not terrible, but not great either.

Review 12:Nice spacious room. Clean interesting lobby area

Review 13:Out of all the hotels we visited. This one smelled like smoke the most. But then again it is Las Vegas. Just a heads up, even non-smoking has a sent of smoke sadly.

Review 14:Hotel room was nice, and location is good

Review 15:King bed lower than most beds. Small flat screen tv. Shower head was lower than usual. Good lighting in the bathroom but the fan was connected to the lights and was loud.

Review 16:View from my room. Quietness of the air conditioner. Good size room with a king bed. Plenty of hot water.

Review 17:Check in person didn't smile, greet me in a welcoming manner - asked who I was, said she needed to see my ID - not hospitable upon arrival at all.

Review 18:Very comfy beds, nice rooms, refrigerator, microwave , good lighting.

Review 19:Just an old facility that needs a lot of updating. Mattress was lumpy and we could feel the springs. The refrigerator was extremely noisy every time it turned on. Light pouring in from hallway all around the door to the room as if the door was too small for the frame. Food at breakfast buffet was atrocious.

Review 20:Reasonable rate and clean.

Review 21:Would have preferred a vending machine with candy so we didn't have to walk to the store downstairs. But not big deal.

Review 22:Staff was very nice, greeted us with a smile and was very helpful in finding the college. Pool was very clean. Asked for more towels and got them almost immediately. The beds were comfortable and the rooms quite.

Review 23:Male started to take my luggage to the shuttle in the morning without asking, mistakenly believing I was taking the shuttle.

Review 24:Very nice room. Comfortable bed. Friendly, courteous staff.

Review 25:Very beautiful place to stay. I hope to stay there again when I am traveling through Colorado. It was such a reasonable place to stay also as a budget travel. Very clean and well kept facility. Amazing view of the Colorado Junction and the nearby mountains from my 6th floor room too. I will highly recommend this place to friends and family.

Review 26:Room was quiet, bed was comfy, shower was hot, noise from room next door was present, but not invasive. Shuttle to Airport was fast easy, and a very courteous shuttle driver.

Review 27:The train going by right next tohotel The . But it was rare, and they did a good job dampening the noise.

Review 28:We loved it! Almost stayed another night just because we liked it so much.

Review 29:I would recommend everything but the breakfast. It was over-priced and the food was of poor quality. The server was grouchy and patrons had to inform her when the meager choices on the buffet had run out and then wait for more to br served.

Review 30:The room was large and comfortable.

Review 31:The hotel provided little in amenities. Shower was built for a pygmy. Towels were threadbare and probably made in the year of the flood. No shampoo or other typical amenities in bathroom. Staff abrupt and unconcerned.

Review 32:We got the room we asked for.

Review 33:Shower pipes would make a really loud vibrating sound. Woke up my fiance. Toilet wouldn't flush properly (had to hold the handle down until everything went away). You could hear everything going on outside, in the hallways and the open patio at the other hotel across the street. Good thing we brought earplugs.

Review 34:You get you what you paid for. Didn't expect anything less. Glad i did't waste $250 on a nearby hotel

Review 35:Arrived before noon and was checked in, no problem! Room was more spacious than anticipated. Very comfortable beds, clean and quiet. Less than 5 minutes to airport, lots of places to eat closeby, and free parking. Very friendly check-in girl. Would absolutely stay here again. Excellent quality and value for money!

Review 36:Very little I did not like other than the hotel was a little dated.

Review 37:Staff very friendly and helpful. Check-in was quick and easy. Very nice to have a restaurant/bar there on-site and the food was good.

Review 38:Can not think of a thing.

Review 39:Airport drop off and pick up and parking at the hotel. Very comfortable bed, great friendly staff and price was very reasonable.

Review 40:Really?? No complimentary breakfast??? Everyplace we have stayed this last year of traveling has had great FREE breakfasts We will not return.

Review 41:Our housekeeping girl was wonderful

Review 42:N/A

Review 43:Everything was amazing, especially the staff. The staff went above and beyond their job duties to make sure that their guests were receiving the optimal experience.

Review 44:Entry way not clean; tile spotted with what looked like chewing gum, but not sure what it was. carpet looked worn in lobby.

Review 45:Clean, quiet room. Very adequate. Great staff. Nice hot tub.

Review 46:I had requested on extra blanket and it wasn't there, I was too tired to back and bother someone about it. There was enough regular coffee for only 1 serving, not enough. Breakfast was not included

Review 47:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean

Review 48:The pillows were less than comfortable. A rock might have been better The floor of the bathtub/shower was cracked and split.

Review 49:The location was easy to find with quick access back to the interstate.

Review 50:The toilets are old and don't flush well. Some rooms have replaced the old dingy curtains with white plantation type shutters. What a difference. Bright and airy.

Review 51:The hotel is clean and the staff is helpful and so courteous. The free one week parking and airport pick up is well worth the price. The bed is very comfortable. the towels are small and thin. Again for the moderate price, it is well worth the value. We can walk across the street to a very good Italian restaurant. Again another plus.

Review 52:We didn't really have a bad experience; however, we were a littledisappointed that we had to pay for breakfast (although at a discountedamount), when other locations had complimentary breakfast. We were alsoa little surprised that the dining room wasn't open on a Saturdayevening! Extremely disappointed in that respect. Also, the loungedidn't open until 4:00 in the afternoon. Couldn't even get acocktail or even relax and enjoy a football game.

Review 53:All the staff was extremely friendly. They also made every effort tohave the room cleaned prior to the check-in time.

Review 54:Easy check in and out, very pleasant counter person (Denise?) A no-hassle overnight stay at a reasonable price. 6th floor room had a beautiful view of grand valley. We travel there once or twice yearly and will stay again.

Review 55:I Travel with my Motorcycle usually i stay in Motels ans the reason is you can park you motorcycle just right outside of your room, this time i choose to stay in the Grand Vista due the location very close to the H/W and ease access to the city ... The whole experience was fantastic, extremely clean all the staff very polite and willing to help in any possible way, very quiet and the rooms are really big, one of the coolest things is they let you park your motorcycle in the main entrance so no need to walk with all that heavy / compact side cases i use in my bike.. .awesome +

Review 56:Very cordial staff in the restaurants and at the hotel desk. I waited a long time for a meal over miscommunication and they comped my meal. At breakfast mIssing sausage/bacon at the buffet, these were not a regular item on the buffet but I had no idea. The waitress very kindly gave us both, complimentary! Staff overall went out of their way to make things right and to make our staff effortless.

Review 57:The breakfast buffet was not very tasty and people shouldn't have to pay extra . The pool had way to much chlorine.

Review 58:The rooms were nice and quite and clean.

Review 59:Would prefer a spa with jets next to the pool, instead of the hot soaking tub.

Review 60:There was only one room left as I approached the desk. I registered, but as I walked away, the front desk clerk called me back. She had just received a cancellation for a room that would be much more accomodating for four of us. She easily could have sold the room to the next interested party. I appreciate that she took the time to provide for our comfort and needs. A housekeeper was working on the top floor even though it was late in the evening. She had what we needed on her cart, saving us a trip downstairs. She was cheerful and offered her services even though the hotel was full and she was very busy. Air conditioning was critical on this hot summer day. The room was cool when we walked in. Ahhhh...

Review 61:We understand that the value for money depends on price - which may vary from time to time and from booking to booking. For us the value for money is good enough on the occasion of our stay with the hotel.

Review 62:Convenient location just far away from I-70, no traffic noise. Very nice views from hotel. Good menu, unfortunately had to leave before they opened for breakfast. Picked up a "lug" of Palisades peaches before we departed. Great side benefit!!!

Review 63:It was a great location for our purpose and we could go where ever we wanted. We were there for five nights and we looked forward to coming "home" in the evening.

Review 64:Needed some physical plant upgrades

Review 65:The room was what we requested, the bartender was very nice and the Italian restaurant within walking distance was a plus

Review 66:Fleas Bed to soft. Pillow worse Just plan old out dated nothing like advertise. For a few dollors more Brand new holiday inn across the street which I have stayed at in Califorina

Review 67:Bar although over priced in lobby again nothing like pictures

Review 68:It was the last leg of a 15 day road trip to the northwest and Canada. It was by far the best single night stay of the trip.

Review 69:We found you on line and it lived up to the feel of a hotel rather than a motel. It was a treat and the cost was more reasonabe than the motels we where we stayed.

Review 70:Breakfast was not included in the room rate (which we knew at the time of booking). It is quicker and more convenient when the hotel provides a continental breakfast. My husband was not impressed with the on-sight restaurant breakfast.

Review 71:Everything in the hotel room was fine.

Review 72:Was disappointed that the jets in the spa did not work. Equipment in exercise room was marginal. Felt breakfast was overpriced for what you got. (sausage and bacon being above and beyond the $9.00)

Review 73:Very comfortable and nice for the price. Loved the fresh fruit at the breakfast bar and the quiet comfort of the seating. (Not like usual breakfast seating in hotels.)

Review 74:For some reason, I could only get internet connection in the lobby. They have nice desks set up with computers in the lobby so I sat at one of the desks with my own computer.

Review 75:Very friendly staff. Very pet friendly. Housekeeping professional and thorough.

Review 76:The location is very convenient . The beds are very comfortable,,,,due to a bad knee, it so appreciated that they put us close to the elevator, thank you!

Review 77:Breakfast was pay only. Nothing free. Ac took hours to cool room, eventually did cool the room tho. Wifi was functioning but very slow. Only two pillows per bed, :(.

Review 78:Location. It was a clean room. Staff was friendly and helpful. Price of room was good.

Review 79:I requested non smoking room & clearly from the smell of the room, someone had smoked in it & the air conditioning unit was so loud you could hardly sleep. Hotel did not provide conditioner, only a basic shampoo & a barely there soap. Shower head was awful, trickled & you could barely wash off and you got lucky with 3 little towels, one washcloth & hand towel. . Front desk staff was rude to my mother when asking if there were any queen size rooms available and the other lady couldn't figure out how to read a drivers license. Not to mention they charge a $50 deposit for what they call incidentals. I do NOT agree with this. I would not stay here again.

Review 80:Hotel was in a good location & the breakfast buffet was great, that's the only good thing I can say about this hotel.

Review 81:The WIFI was poor; couldn't connect in the room. We had to do all internet work from the lobby. The hotel itself was difficult to get my dog down the hall, down the elevator, through the lobby, and across the parking lot without someone, other dog, or circumstance disturbing her and triggering an accident.

Review 82:No hotel cart to get luggage to room. Requested help never came. Only 3 handicapped parking spots. Had to walk about 300 feet to lobby with my oxygen. Had to move furniture to get to wall outlet to plug in portable oxegen.

Review 83:bed was very comfortable

Review 84:The door was propped wide open when we got there and there was a review page from the previous occupant telling us about their stay. (Which didn't sound great)

Review 85:All the space in the room.

Review 86:place was OK, way to much money per night for this place, might have been better off across the street! had a happy hour sign telling me the beers were $2.00 each, which they weren't! if i wanted all the trash american regular beer they were but the micro brews were not! disgusting!

Review 87:My child only wanted pancakes and I was told I would have to pay for a buffet. I asked for coffee and the coffee was very bad tasting only took one sip. Decided not to stay.

Review 88:Front desk staff was very friendly & helpful. The pool was very nice and the room was clean and comfortable.

Review 89:The buffet is not worth the $7.00 discount price.

Review 90:The value with booking.com made the stay exceptional. Easily found and centrally located. Great super clean hotel pool. The indoor pool is large enough for several families.to enjoy at once.and out the way from the hotel guest traffic.

Review 91:The bed was okay but the pillows were not comfortable, I could hear the neighbors laughing and talking. I could also hear a mouse scratching in the wall under the window.

Review 92:I liked the price and the look of the hotel and the swimming pool

Review 93:We stayed on the 5th floor and there was a bad smell on the floor as well as in our room. You cannot open the windows for fresh air and the old dated air/heat/cooling is a venting system by the window. The pool and hot tub were closed for repair which we did not know when booking as we always use the pool/hot tub on our stay.

Review 94:The price was reasonable, but that is because of the condition of the dated hotel facility. We do like the check out time of noon, and the buffet breakfast is pretty good.

Review 95:small lumpy pillows, pool out of order again, refrigerator interior style not roomy enough for keeping drinks or foods. returned for second night's stay and maid had left pile of dirty rags in bathroom and took my swimsuit cover-up which was hanging on the wall - would suggest hanger on door instead. Contacted front desk, didn't find my clothing item. a bummer 'cause I used it all the time after showers & for swim cover-up.

Review 96:price, location, clean room, friendly staff

Review 97:Clean, modern and safe hotel! I realized the hotel built-in hair dryer was broken. I called the front desk and within 5 minutes, maintenance was up in my room quickly installing a new hair dryer .

Review 98:No complaints!

Review 99:Staff was friendly & helpful. Room was clean & nice. Pool & restaurant were great. We have no complaints. We would definetly stay again next time we are in grand junction.

Review 100:I requested an extra bed in our room (it was listed as something you could request when you booked the room), never happened. I requested an early check-in, never happened. Pet policy ist you can't leave your pet in the room unattended. At all. Lame. The hotel room doors have about a 1.5 inch gap at the top because the hall is slanted. Wouldn't be a big deal, but the bar in the lobby does Karaoke & live music on Saturday nights so that's all you can hear while laying on your full size bed, not even queen...Upon checkout; I was walking out of the lobby and the 2 customer service agents behind the desk just stared awkwardly while I walked down the hall and through the lobby. I finally said 'GOOD MORNING' - their faces -----> O.O My daughter had a late band concert in Junction and I thought it would be fun to stay the night. Couldn't use the pool since the dog couldn't be alone. No continental breakfast. Spend an extra $20 and stay out of here

Review 101:The price.

Review 102:The wi-fi was free but unusable. It was so slow that I was unable to do the work that I needed to accomplish without my own hotspot.

Review 103:It was good value for the money -- though make sure you bring your own body lotion and hair conditioner! The room was very clean. And the bed was really comfortable -- I loved the pillows.

Review 104:the bed was a little too firm, inside the shower wasn't real clean and no covered parking

Review 105:wifi, swimming pool, staff, elevators, restaurant, microwave and refridgerator,

Review 106:Desk clerk on duty was very rude to other lady in training, I am a desk clerk my self and I could not believe how she talked to her co worker in front of guest , jets in hot tub don't work like taking a hot bath, the fridge on floor makes it hard for some one with back problems

Review 107:Room was big, very clean

Review 108:Really - there wasn't anything that we didn't like or that was a disappointment.

Review 109:Everything about this place was wonderful. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was great and the pool area was a lot of fun for the grandkids. We plan to stay again next time we are in Grand Junction. Loved that they had live entertainment in the lounge.

Review 110:The shower head was terrible not a good spray. The toliet kept sticking and running water. The place needs some simple matainance.

Review 111:We stay here every year when we come to Grand Junction to Christmas shop.It has nice rooms and a great bar and resturant.

Review 112:Staff wasn't extremely accommodating. No tv guid, USB port or extra blanket in the room. Only one hand towel. The breakfast buffet (not continental, I paid for it) had a very poor selection.

Review 113:Comfortable, clean and inexpensive stay. Very impressed with the cleanliness and quietness of my room.

Review 114:I was a bit worried that for the price this place would be a dive and it wasn't. My room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was courteous and accommodating. It had a very homey feel to it. I'd stay again.

Review 115:We used the pool which was nice and very warm I liked that a lot lol but when we used the hot tub we couldn't fine the control for the jets not sure if it doesn't work like that or idk but still enjoyed it lol

Review 116:It was a nice hotel the staff were fairly nice. It was clean and when we need plates for our dinner they let us use some from there kitchen that was very nice of them. I have stayed here before and I would stay here again.

Review 117:The internet did not reach to the room and we were too tired to sit in the lobby.

Review 118:We had many hours and we were bone tired. The desk staff were careful to get us a quiet room. We slept great!

Review 119:I did not like that there was only one entrance to the hotel which isused by everyone, including non-hotel staying bar goers, which made finding a parking space hard in the small lot.

Review 120:I like that it was pet friendly and still clean. The bar and the restaurant were nice comfortable places to hang out, sometimes it's hard to figure out what to do in Grand Junction and this made it easy.

Review 121:Bed pilliws were not comfortable. Hallways are somewhat dreary. Could use updating.

Review 122:Good value. Staff was helpful and pleasant. Rooms were clean and comfortable, just a bit dated.

Review 123:Water pressure in the shower was terrible. A 5 min. shower requires 10 minutes. Needed to do laundry, however, no quest self laundry available. No power outlet for laptop charger in the room located near the work desk.

Review 124:Staff at check in/check out was friendly and helpful. They helped me send outgoing fax (long distance) no charge !

Review 125:This hotel is located right off of I-70. very easy to find. The hotel is in good condition and I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of my room. I had a king size bed, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee pot. Parking is free which is always a plus. I like this hotel so much that I will be staying there this Monday for another business trip.

Review 126:This is the fourth time I have stayed at the Grand Vista, and each time it was a great value for the price I paid. The rooms were clean and neat, and the staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. The restaurant and lounge areas were attractive and the meals were good. I would go back again.

Review 127:My wife has stayed at this location several times and suggested it to me for a place to stay since it was located near the airport. They were able to answer all my questions and handle all my issues with ease...the airport shuttle was available at a moments notice and had me there very shortly. The check in process was very expedited and helpful for me. I arrived early for my reservation...they had a room ready and available for me. Thank you for the wonderful stay!!!!

Review 128:Considering the low cost, the beds, bedding, bathroom and overall cleanliness was excellent. I really appreciated being allowed to take our prized mountain bikes up to the room for safe keeping.

Review 129:We booked a king room, but were put in a room with double beds. Fortunately, we were immediately moved to a king room.

Review 130:Everything was great. Wonderful value for the money. Friendly employees, nice room, easy access.
