Reviews for Capitol Plaza Topeka

Review 1:There was what appeared to be mold along two areas of the caulking in the tub (I noticed in the morning when taking a shower) and the bathroom ceiling had an area that was peeling off. I notified the lady when we were checking out. She wrote it down and spoke to a maintenance lady walking by asking her if she was on duty. The lady replied yes and she notified her of the mold and the ceiling. The maintenance lady stated she was aware. The lady checking us out replied "Yes, she's aware and it's on her list". I questioned why you would place quests in a room that had mold when someone was aware of the issue. She replied they probably shouldn't have put anyone in that room. The person I was traveling with has a respiratory illness and mold could potentially be a major concern. No apology was given at any point.

Review 2:Didn't use the pool because you had to walk thru the lobby/eating area to get there. Uncomfortable.

Review 3:The room was great. Everything was so clean. Staff was great.

Review 4:I booked this Hotel online not knowing a thing about this erea or hotel& wow when we walked in we felt like royalty. Everything was sobeautiful! Staff was wonderful, breakfast was wonderful. Woulddefinitely stay here again if ever in the erea. Very pleased witheverything.

Review 5:The TV was a bit confusing. There was also no fridge in our room.. I don't know if some rooms are equipped with them or not but a hotel of this type should include one in every room especially since they cater to dog show folks

Review 6:We were staying at this hotel because of the Capital City Dog shows. First night the tub drained very slow. Let the front desk know the next morning and it was fixed that same night. Beds are very comfortable and the location was excellent for our needs. Restaurant on site is also very good and not over priced. The staff was very professional and responsive. One evening when we reported a guy pan handling out front between the hotel and the Expo center 2 of the hotel employees immediately ran out to find him.

Review 7:Being there the same time as a dog show...smelly! Beds were made up on second day but still someone else's q-tip and rubber band on bathroom floor!

Review 8:Where do I start? From start to finish, a completely awful experience? And I'm not an amateur traveler. The check in staff were completely RUDE. Never making eye contact with anyone standing in the line(s). The check-in desk is deceiving.. looks like 3 kiosks. When it was the National Finals week-end for cheer and there's a banner behind the desk and 2 ladies standing there (seemingly passing out bags), one might not realize THIS is where you actually CHECK IN. After asking another guest, I got in line and waited approx. 15 mins only to be CUT off by someone who walked in off the street, strolled up to an empty kiosk and INSTANTLY got checked in. When it was finally my turn - I let the front desk person know that I had been waiting prior to someone else being helped - to which she ignored and proceeded to begin the check in process. No apologies. She then proceeded to walk away and look for assistance, only to return and let me know that my room had been given away. She mumbled something about someone messing up the date - put in 2015, rather than 2014 and they could have at least called her to fix it. She said she'd have to call a manager to see what could be done. Fast forward another 10 mins and her leaving and coming back to the front desk area and she says "how many keys do you need?".. Uh... does this mean I DO have a room. No apologies, nothing. To top it ALL of, went to check out of the hotel, was overcharged by $30, only to be told by this front desk person (who also witnessed the events of day prior) that unless I could prove my $99 rate with an email, she would have to charge me an extra $30. BULLS*&^!!!!! This place is awful. THE WORST customer service & experience. I didn't even mention the screaming kids in the hallways till well after midnight. I expected some noise, though - due to the fact it was Nationals for Cheer week-end. Oh and the primary reason I stayed here...

Review 9:There wasn't much to like - other than the fact that the room was adequate.
