Reviews for Harrah's Lake Tahoe
Review 1:Wifi limited to two devices, breakfast was in-room and very basic. No bars that you could have a child with you due to gaming machines. No baby sitting service.
Review 2:Location, great service very clean and organised. Staff helpful. Rooms massive with lots of space. Great value
Review 3:Worst fitness center I have seen in a major hotel. Dirty with grease and oil on carpet, only 4 machines, 3 treadmills which only 2 worked, a worn out bike and a few weights. So bad we didn't go back after seeing it.
Review 4:Rooms with 2 bathrooms and large rooms
Review 5:Hotel room was spacious with two bathrooms which is good. I also used the hot tub and gym. Hot tub was hot enough and good for winter days. Walking distance to gondola.
Review 6:There are no more non smoking room at the time we check in even though I did request for a non smoking room at the time of reservation. The cost seem a little too high
Review 7:The best thing I like about the room is There are 2 separate bathroom, the room seem a little bigger than other hotel casino that I been stayed at before. We call the front desk for more blanket and we got it within a few minute.
Review 8:bathroom leak which they repaired. Shower needed more force. At the Fridays restaurant they gave away my wife's end cut prime rib which was disappointing. But they made up by comping the entire meal.
Review 9:We had to ask 4 times for bedding to be provided for sofa bed. Also, my wife left a toiletry bag full of expensive cosmetics in room and we were told nothing was found.
Review 10:Room was awesome. Clean and modern. Valet prompt.
Review 11:Slow Internet connection
Review 12:Great value! Perfect location. Amazing views. Service was great with a smile. Clean & comfortable. Well equipped. Thanks will be back
Review 13:No chest of drawers in the room - nowhere to unpack suitcases. Threadbare towels. Smelly bathrooms. Cursory cleaning service, felt like the most they did was make the beds and change towels. Terrible food and service at American River Cafe; bad quality food with room service. Starbucks was a savior, but they ran out of all the popular pastries very early in the morning.
Review 14:Location is great. 2 bathrooms a huge plus. Comfortable beds, pillows, bedding. Kids enjoyed the arcade.
Review 15:Front desk staff were just ok. Seemed to not be too happy. This is a smoking optional hotel which means you will have to put up with cigarette smoke. They are remodeling some of the floors so noise and chemical smells can be bothersome.
Review 16:Location is great. Valet free indoor garage parking was good. Bell Captain was nice. Front desk staff were just ok. Seemed to not be too happy. This is a smoking optional hotel which means you will have to put up with cigarette smoke. They are remodeling some of the floors so noise and chemical smells can be bothersome.
Review 17:The hotel hallways are stuffy, and smell like a nursing home. The room doors lack a door seal, so the stuffy air comes into the room. Bathroom floors are cold. Bed is too soft. No room service for lunch.
Review 18:Convenient location.
Review 19:The casino area was hot, needs some a.c it was very crowded and very stuff/hot, the smoke filled air definately needs to be AC flown thru the vents so it hopefully wont feel so prominent. It was hurting my eyes, so we continued to walk from harrahs to harveys back and forth.
Review 20:Love the holidaydecorations, very well greeted at the front desk. The room was beautiful!!! and a nice touch to have two bathrooms . We were here to celebrate our 7 year wedding anny.
Review 21:Room was next to the elevator. Could hear them throughout the evening and into the night. Shower did not provide shelf or insert for storing shampoo or soap.
Review 22:Customer service and clean room.
Review 23:The $20+tax resort fee is ridiculous, no value at all for money. Also the Starbucks is extortionately priced because it is owned by the hotel. Overall the hotel is a bit outdated and tired, the matresses were not comfortable and sagged in the middle.
Review 24:Location is great, next to shops and restaurants. Free parking is also a perk. Rooms are spacious and have two bathrooms.
Review 25:The hotel looks it's age now. But that's fine.
Review 26:Almost everything. I came back with my whole family because I was happy with Harrah's in Dec 2014 when I visited with my friend.
Review 27:Didn't like 2 of the door personnel at the night club. I had been stamped for return enterance, person attending line check let me pass and then 2 other attendants stopped me and wouldn't let me in. They were very rude! I was sitting near by as group after group of returning guest were allowed in without any hassles. Overall the hotel stay was good, but the furnishings could use some updating and it would be nice to see the view through clean windows.
Review 28:It seemed like they nickle and dime little charges. Like you have to pay resort fees even if you don't use them. Online they say it's $20 dollars, but it was $22.95.
Review 29:When we arrived we found the Jacuzzi was out of order. We asked the desk about it and the person we talked to didn't know and said she would check. We came back a while later and she had forgotten to check. We came a little later again and she obviously made up a story that it was going to be a week. We came back much later and were told by someone else it would be fixed the next day and it was. Missed it for one day.
Review 30:Stayed at the best casino of the 4 in the immediate area. Food court was handy. No noise from people or other TVs at night.
Review 31:We checked in at 8:30 and needed dinner everything was closed already and we had to walk over to the hard rock just to eat.
Review 32:The rooms are fantastic! Huge and live the two bathrooms. Really clean and the bed was so comfortable!
Review 33:no view and no breakfast included
Review 34:room with individual bath rooms was great not having to share with other person bed was not as comfortable as other places but was okay.
Review 35:Hot water in the toilet and faucet in small bath. Exercise room is now down to 2 working treadmills and one bike. Sad.
Review 36:Best location in Tahoe and the two baths are great.
Review 37:The front check in guy had no personality, didn't smile and when we talked to him he didn't even respond. Change out front desk clerk to someone happy. Also we couldn't find water anywhere. I realize were in a drought, but a couple water bottles in the room would of been great
Review 38:It was our honeymoon and they gave us a suite.
Review 39:My room was noisy. No wet bar was a number. I felt the room was over priced for the product provided.
Review 40:I liked the gaming staff, wait staff, and house keeping staff.
Review 41:Very quiet in room (15th floor), The bed was good slept for 10 hours one nite. the shower was great! House keeping was very good. Great view from window.
Review 42:I think the American River Cafe could have been open longer than 2 p.m. It would have been nice to have dinner there, aside from the Buffet.
Review 43:I had the Privilege to stay in a Luxury Room at Harrah's. The room was very clean, roomy & comfortable! My room had a nice, partial view of the lake and mountain side! The indoor pool & jacuzzi was very nice-spacious and heated! I was very impressed by the Arcade they had there! Very big and Entertaining for kids!
Review 44:Some moderate noise from surrounding rooms very late night, early morning. Walls were thinner then we would have liked.
Review 45:Good room close to everything we cared to do. No smoke smell on our floor or in our room.
Review 46:Attitude of Hotel Staff when asking about places to eat. Food court far away from hotel side. Room Service Food was way over priced and Not good. They did take care of that for us.
Review 47:Room. Beauty salon and restraunts the only time it was available during our stay.
Review 48:Lack of live entertainment, however, there was a show nearby.
Review 49:Size of the room and the two bathrooms. Also clean rooms. Friendly staff that responded quickly to our requests. Good view at the hotel buffet.
Review 50:Our room was located near the elevators and we heard the whir of them going up and down the hotel all night; needless to say, we did not get restful sleep. Our lake view consisted of looking at a mirror to see it.
Review 51:When we notified the front desk about the elevator noise the young man was not friendly. But he did move our room to the other side of the hotel on a higher floor. We were much more pleased with the new room. We could actually see the lake. It also had a Keurig which our original room did not have. We love Lake Tahoe and will return, but most likely stay somewhere else.
Review 52:A bit of a long wait at the steakhouse on the top floor. I made a reservation 2 weeks before and requested a window seat for my wife's birthday, but the concierge never made the res.
Review 53:The room was nice, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Loved the two bathrooms :) Had a nice view of the lake. Appreciated the free valet and friendly staff, got a discount on jet skis and although we had a 30min + wait time for the Fridays steak restaurant, the food was delicious. TIP- go to Red Hut for breakfast, food was amazing especially the pancakes!
Review 54:The room cost was high, and despite ordering a non-smoking room, the smoke smell was very strong coming in from somewhere outside of the room. Also the doors do not block a lot of sound.
Review 55:Room was very spacious, and had two bathrooms. The hotel definitely showed its age, but was clean and well maintained.
Review 56:Cigarette , cigar smoke was kinda of thick in one area in the casino, few people playing slots were very upset my wife and I just left to another area of the casino, other than we had a good time.
Review 57:The room was awesome and the band played the night we stayed riff raft was great would love return for a stay again.
Review 58:Slow internet. No phone reception at restaurant in basement. Smoky casino. Slots did not pay off.
Review 59:Loved the 2 bathrooms!!! Great location! Walk to shopping, restaurants, Heavenly ski lifts, and more!!
Review 60:Buffet was closed for maintenance the week we were there. Tram was closed down for maintenance the week we were there. Restaurants were too pricey in their menu's.
Review 61:Enjoyed going thru the newly remodeled casino. Dinner at Harrah's on 18th floor.
Review 62:Property is old and has not aged gracefully. Rooms are very dated with dirty drapes, worn carpet, and a strange odor to them. Much better choices in South Lake Tahoe
Review 63:Parking was good
Review 64:The small things in the room show effort to cut cost rather than go the extra mile for the guest.
Review 65:Employees went out of there way to be available and friendly.
Review 66:I didn't like that rooms had view of a parking garage that had very bright lights shooting in the room all night. Also I was charged a $21 fee for Wi-Fi and something else that I wasn't informed about at check in but check out clerk said I was told about it and argued with me. The pool area was nice too much chlorine smell and windows surrounding pool are filthy
Review 67:I liked the rooms and the way they were setup
Review 68:The hotel didn't have any restaurants when we wanted to eat. We had to go outside the casino to find a place to eat. Room service had limited hours. Nothing was open 24 hours. Our Room service delivery person was dishonest about the gratuity. The service in the casino was awful. The Casino Drinks Server came around every half hour if lucky. I was disappointed.
Review 69:The front desk employees where helpful and nice
Review 70:The lady at check-in was stiffed-face, unfriendly, unwelcoming, and she wore a name placard with position as Team Lead or something of that sort??!! On the contrary, another lady at check-out was wonderful with a warm smile...just right.
Review 71:The location is excellent. It's walking distance to all the restaurants, cafes, and other casinos. The price value is great. Love that there are two bathrooms in the unit and everything is very very clean. Nice!
Review 72:bathroom had gum stuck on the floor, water in shower stall was barely a drip, carpet was patched and dirty.
Review 73:Buffet was great, waitresses were attentive, bell hop was immediately there when called, able to check in right away. Two baths.
Review 74:My wife, stepson and I were there to celebrate his 21st birthday and none of the bartenders carded him. I guess it was his full beard, never the less we all had a great time!
Review 75:The hotel staff was very friendly and very accommodating, any problems or needs were handled promptly!
Review 76:A bit pricey for the one night. Has resort fee that will pay for wifi for 2 devices only, gym and pool use. Cannot opt out of this fee. Food in the buffet was mediocre.
Review 77:Two full bathrooms in the suite. Great view from room. Staff friendly and helpful. Valet swift and reliable. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. Room was big.
Review 78:That you had to pay on top for Wi-Fi. Would rather it was a part of a package price. It always seems a bit petty to me when the hotel starts adding on extras. Also in this day and age when you can get wi-fi in any Starbucks and McDonalds for free it seems a bit much for a hotel of this calibre to charge for it.
Review 79:Room was great - spare bathroom very useful with a teenager in tow!
Review 80:We weren't able to check-in until 4:02. I know it's only couple if minutes late but at least make it punctual. We were a bit early but u would assume the room should be ready 15 mins earlier.
Review 81:Rooms where very clean and we'll kept. Originally we booked for one night but ended up staying for two nights since we had so much fun. Indoor pool was awesome for my young daughter. Arcade was huge and fun. View from executive king room was spectacular.
Review 82:I don't like paying for Wi Fi because its free in so many other places around. Wasn't really an issue though as I had data on my SIM
Review 83:Clean comfortable room and great value in package
Review 84:Only one small very measly complaint about the shower head in the stand alone shower-----needs to be raised. Not good for a tall man of 6'4". Swings awkwardly. That's all.
Review 85:Loved the two bathrooms and newly renovated rooms (room 840). Staff were all friendly, helpful and have worked there a long time. That told us that they make their customers AND staff happy. Says a lot to us! Kudos to Joe (bell hop), Mike at Friday's Station and to Desmond, our good luck charm in the casino as we took home enough to ay for our entire trip!
Review 86:coffee pot brought to room wasonly half full, but cost $ 14.00. bottom cafe breasfast ok, dinner very poor. bread was dry on sandwich. should have been fresh. Pool area, no one beleived in signs, no running, no kids unatenned glass by pool, chairs by pool. ect.
Review 87:WiFi was not included in the resort fee
Review 88:We were impressed with the location of the hotel and casino, there were amazing views of Lake Tahoe! Stores and restaurants right inside the casino and out the door. There's a shopping pavilion right out the door as well as the ski lift! Very clean, and were overall pleased.
Review 89:The lake view and premium room that I paid for had a very partial view of the lake for which you had to squeeze behind the sofa to see. No shampoo and one of the soaps was previously opened. The room overall was very average.
Review 90:The bed.
Review 91:Would not honor rates quoted by booking.com. Mandatory $22.60 per day "Resort fee" for "services" that were not requested or used. The only "services" according to the consierge - a workout room across the street (like you really need a workout room after skiing all day) and Wi-Fi you didn't use.
Review 92:Good location, convenient to gondola. Two bathrooms were a plus getting ready for skiing.
Review 93:Did not like the fact that there was no coffee in the room...had to getdressed and wander to starbucks for coffee..........the first day weordered room service....had to wait an hour and 2 telephone calls beforewe got a pot of expensive coffee.....that sucked big time. Also heavyset female concierge said gondola was 1/2 block walk....try a bitfurther....guess she doesn't walk much............
Review 94:Did not like smoking in the casino area.especially if you were out infresh air all day
Review 95:The garage is only for valet parking.
Review 96:Free parking. Near the Gondola from Heavenly where you can take a free shuttle to go to Heavenly Main Lodge to ski/snowboard. The Forest Buffet is the reastaurant on the top floor (18th floor). It really worth.
Review 97:they did not accommodate us AT ALL! we rented 2 queen rooms with 2 beds each. they didnt even let us have joining rooms even after we requested prior to paying. the cable t.v. wasnt working for 1 of the days. the windows in the room shake and whistle really loud when its windy. overrated!
Review 98:I loved that they have a 24 hour starbucks. the location is beautiful. the casino is good. restaurants are good. arcade is ok.
Review 99:The room said it had a mini bar but the area where the mini fridge was supposed to be was missing...= lots of trips for ice!! Disappointing!!
Review 100:Love the location..and the variety of things to do,eat and see!!
Review 101:Furnishings were a little dated and worn. Long wait to check in with only one staff member working the desk. Requested a non smoking room with a King bed and got a smoking room with 2 queens. Staff member was courteous but not particularly friendly.
Review 102:We were in an Executive Suite that had huge windows with a beautiful view of the lake and snow covered mountains. The bed was very comfortable. It was nice having a Keurig coffee maker and mini frig in the room.
Review 103:Bad service. Our rooms lock was broken and they could not fix it in the night. They said someone should come and fix it in the morning but no one came for it. Because of the broken door lock, we could not leave the room as there was no way of getting into the room if it got closed. We left a day early, very disapointed.
Review 104:The location is great.
Review 105:At check-in the receptionist asked if we want to buy the resort fee to get wifi and pool use. We did not want the pool and $22 per day for wifi was ridiculously expensive. We declined. At no point were we informed that the "resort fee" is compulsory. At check-out we had to pay $22.50 per day (per room) for something we never used and we had not been told it was compulsory. Very lousy treatment of guests - it felt like theft.
Review 106:First front desk clerk that assisted me wasn't very knowledgeable about checkin process. It took him 25 min. to find our reservation. furniture in room was very dated (tables).
Review 107:The second front desk clerk was extremely helpful in finding our reservation within seconds by scanning my credit card. Valet service was great! Downstairs restaurant food was great, but server didn't ask if we wanted more to drink or dessert.
Review 108:Expensive card games. How is a casual fellow like me to afford that? No working fridge
Review 109:Great location Fun hotel and casino Surrounded by tasty food Room service is actually affordable if you're feeling lazy
Review 110:The dinner buffet has slipped a bit and the breakfast at the resturant was greasy bacon and eggs. Cabo Wabo is showing it's age for breakfast was ok. Could use a quart of paint to spruce things up at bar. wouldn't take much
Review 111:Personnel were very nice always trying to help. Rooms were cleaned quickly would like to go up in winter but could not afford the room then
Review 112:cost is high when you add in the daily 22.60 resort fee. If you only use the internet it costs $14.
Review 113:size and comfort of the room is excellent. all the staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 114:Harrah's Facilities. Older hotel not being maintained to a higher level. Apparently hotel aspect of resort hotel/casino operation isn't the primary concern.
Review 115:South Lake Tahoe
Review 116:Coffee in the room I wish there was better coffee in the room
Review 117:My husband and I had a great time we just wished there was a little more information on what to see around the town a little more clear for everyone to see on your first day other than that we love our stay and highly recommend other couples to stay at this great place
Review 118:Would have like a coffe maker in the luxury room, not have to get up and go get coffee.
Review 119:Two restrooms, was so nice. Luxury space and small sitting area is a plus.
Review 120:the reception personals where extremely rude un courteous, the hotel is due for renovation like 10 or 15 years ago, food quality and value very poor.
Review 121:bar tenders where great.
Review 122:The free internet is limited to one device per room, it is ridiculous! The hotel itself needs some refreshment... it seems like you are in the 80's. some furniture was broken, the fridge wasn't cold, we prefer to put our milk in a ice bucket for the night.
Review 123:Great location, good indoor pool, although a small one.
Review 124:Dirty showers-sticky red gunk in the shower and stains on the carpet, old style rooms that look like they haven't been updated since the 70's. Don't waste your money. Main staff we dealt with was very unaccomodating and had poor customer service. Couldn't find our reservation for 2 hours. For the trouble they "upgraded" us to the above described room which was apparently a platinum/premium room. Can't imagine what the luxury room we initially booked would have been like since the room we got was so bad.
Review 125:I liked everything except nothing to do there except gamble and eat. More entertainment would be nice.
Review 126:The two bathrooms were great. Also the little sitting area with couch and table was quite nice for my son's laptop.
Review 127:Extra charges wifi etc, No tea or coffee facilities in the room. Poorly equipped fitness room
Review 128:Location good, rooms large and comfortable, great views. Easy parking.
Review 129:Need more 24hr food choices... Need to let hotel guests bypass line for Peek nightclub!!!
Review 130:Close to everything. Fun atmosphere, going to be sad when they loose all their business to the new Hard Rock casino opening soon...
Review 131:Nothing negative to say about Harrahs
Review 132:Overall a great hotel with good choice of restaurants and a pleasant environment throughout. Would definitely choose here again. The queen room with two beds and two bathrooms was great
Review 133:Outdated motif with many things in need of updating. I am to spoiled by other casinos rooms and service. Gambling experience far from the best. Next time I will go to Vegas. Harrahs and Harvey management need to review their comp system which is really outdated I don't need 50 cents off at a gas station when I have Costco and Safeway. Rooms need repair and refurbish. Maybe when the Hard Rock open I will try playing there, new digs and I hope better comps.
Review 134:Room service very good. Valet good service.
Review 135:Incompetent and rude registration clerk "Christian"! Dingy room, old, scuffed furniture. No coffee pot in room_had to call desk and request a coffee maker be brought up …for a tip, of course. LOUSY food at Forest Buffet, for too much money!! Couldn't wait to leave! (and we used to work for Harrah's! :c
Review 136:Able to self park. Quiet room, with 2 bathrooms.
Review 137:There was an additional "fee" put on my bill for services I did not use; such as the internet and the workout room. When I questioned the charge I was told it was a corporate mandated charge and couldn't be reversed. I resent being charged for something I did not use! The amount was not a lot but it's the principle. I was charged for services I did not use. I might recommend Harrahs to friends but I would tell them to check their bill AND that they will be charged for services not rendered.
Review 138:Very clean room
Review 139:Cigarette smoke in casino area. Non valet parking was difficult to find at times. I think it would add value to hotel guests if they were given priority parking over non-hotel guests. This could be accomplished with a parking pass and designated parking.
Review 140:Great location. Close to local activities. Nice rooms. We really enjoyed the American River Cafe.
