Reviews for Red Carpet Inn - Opelika

Review 1:the manager taking my money off my card before I arrive! I didn't like that at all. then I tried to tell him he wasn't suppose to do that and then he started insulting me and where I attended school instead of listening

Review 2:no towels in the room and when asked they acted as if we were lying and then only provided one towel and one washcloth for a party of two

Review 3:room was clean quiet and comfortable, very nice to get lil uniterupted rest in

Review 4:Forgot to realize that sleeping right next to the interstate was a loud experience.

Review 5:The location was great, the staff was friendly, and the room was clean.

Review 6:There is a limited availability of clean towels and washcloths, the curtains need to be removed. It is obviously a very old motel and the owner appearst o be in the process of renovating but I am not sure. It is a very low budget motel, but it is very inexpensive.

Review 7:1.They were very accepting of my pet 2. It is located right off of I-85

Review 8:Everything about this nasty facility. Booking.com should be ashamed to recommend it to clients!!!! Bad location in a hole off the highway. Unsightly with a foreign staff who hid behind a window and resented even our asking for a 2nd bath towel with two people in the room. There was no breakfast, one small bar of soap, no shampoo, no tissues and one role of toilet paper. We had to book 2 nights just to get a refrigerator and micro wave and would've been charged extra had we cancelled either night. They had no 'do not disturb' signs and whenever we left, they entered our room without permission both days. We deliberately set alert barriers they were unaware of. They spoke broken English and were rude. The health department should shutter this place!

Review 9:Absolutely nothing was likeable! There was no shampoo, soap, etc. and we had to ask for a 2nd towel to the dismay of the staff. They had NO Do Not Disturb Signs and entered our room without permission when we left to find a place to eat breakfast which was a McDonalds one block away. The bed pillows were nasty and worn out -- not fit for a person to lay their head on. There were blood stains on the sheets and the shower was filthy with an uncovered empty light fixture exposed in the shower.

Review 10:Really not. Problem unless u want pool. We stayed early spring and fallpool wasn't open and they have no bfast. Like I said restaurantsnear by its a nice clean, Quite hotel for money. If it's a littlenoisy just open door let your neighbors politely know they aredisturbing u or call there room

Review 11:Hotel is I think an d motel 6 : it's clean ,quite, close torestaurants, shopping and Auburn. We have stayed 3 times total 5 nights. Requested queen downstairs soft mattress because of hip and backissues. We got it! We stay two nights I put things outta the way theyclean room and put fresh towels and touched none! Of our belongings Iwill go back !

Review 12:The TV sucked the stations were static and nothing wanted to come in properly.

Review 13:the room was comfortable and clean felt safe there and every thing and the staff were very nice and helpful.

Review 14:Room was a bit stale. There was hardly any hot water. Had to take a warm bath. Not what I expected. It would be better for the staff to be able to communicate in English better. I was not overly impressed with the facilities.

Review 15:Location was ok.

Review 16:I didn't like that they weren't nice to me on the phone when I called after booking to ask a question about my arrival time.

Review 17:I liked how inexpensive it was and that it was clean.

Review 18:Sink pipes exposed shower had no step or lip to prevent water from going everywhere throughout the entire bathroom cops and ambulances in and out of the parking lot all night barley enough room to walk around let alone place luggage anywhere without being a saftey hazard

Review 19:The heater worked

Review 20:Some shady guests stay there too.

Review 21:This was a good bargain, only good for sleeping, but convenient for Auburn game with friends. The owners were nice and very accommodating though.

Review 22:First my card was not supposed to be charged until the day of the stay. It was charged one week prior. 2nd the bed was supposed to be queen size but it was full size. 3rd the smell of the room was horrible. 4th I was hung up on 4 times when calling about why my card was charged so early. 5th I will never stay here again.

Review 23:The staff was terrible. She charged my credit card before I could evencheck in. She was very very rude to me. She yelled at me and put me outon the sidewalk because I confused my check out date / time andwouldn't allot me two hours for my ride to come. The microwave inthe room didnt work. There is no hair dryer /iron/ironing board/ shampoo/ conditioner. And she kept walking into my roomwithout knocking. I was very very disappointed with the level ofcustomer service. She wouldn't even let me explain what hadhappeneded with my booking without yelling over me. This is the worstexperience I've ever had in a hotel. I will never return.

Review 24:The cost was decent. The wifi was good. The room was good for the price.

Review 25:I was assured on the phone that pets were allowed for $10 per night. When I arrived, I reminded the gentlemen at the counter that I had a pet and said it would be $20 for the two nights. I asked him to charge my credit car and said he preferred cash. I paid cash. The next morning, upon seeing our dog outside with us, I received a phone call ordering me to go to the office where I was questioned about whether I paid for the dog or not. He kept throwing the receipt on the counter and saying 'it's not written on here like these others'. He did everything but call me a liar. I didn't appreciate that and will not stay there ever again. Make sure you have a receipt if you pay for pets.

Review 26:Smelled cigarette smoke--probably from room next door as there was an adjoining door--closed and locked but not sealed at the bottom. Also, felt vibrations when someone was walking on deck--probably someone rather large.

Review 27:No loud, human talking or yelling

Review 28:Very poor customer service. It was down right awful. They didn't want to give us extra towels. The hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade.

Review 29:The location was very convenient.

Review 30:The price was great, but it was by far the nastiest place I've ever stayed in my 44 years. Air conditioning didn't work and all but 1 lightbulb was missing in all of the lights combined. My wife was the first one in and found the biggest roach she's ever seen in the bathroom. Never never never again!!!

Review 31:Price..........

Review 32:Room didn't lock, microfridge didn't work, outlets didn't work, bed was miserable and no where to sit in the room.

Review 33:I liked the fact that it was pretty clean and location was not bad.

Review 34:Quality of beds were both poor and old. Towels were limited to the exact number of guest and of cheap quality. Would only stay with similar or no other options. Would gladly pay for Hampton Inn or similar if availability were there.

Review 35:I booked a nonsmoking room yet the room smelled like smoke. The bedspread had cigarette burns. The sheets also had cigarette burns and stains. There was a washcloth, hand towel and another towel. They were old and I decided not to use them. No tissues in the bathroom. There was a half used roll of toilet paper and no replacement roll. The knob on the temperature control for the ac/heater was broken. The shower looked old and dirty and had a hole that was covered with electrical tape. I let the water run for a long time yet I never got hot water to come out. Needless to say I would not recommend this hotel or ever stay here again.

Review 36:Let's start with the room key we we're given was to a room already occupied! Next, the room had 2 midget double beds, when I had booked queens. No hot water and half a roll of toilet paper! The beds had a permanent crease. My bed was literally shoved next to the wall ac so I had freezing air blown in my face all night

Review 37:Absolutely nothing. Well I did like the couple in the room to which we were given a room key. I'm thankful they didn't shoot us when we entered their room. Seriously? How do u not know which rooms are occupied or not??

Review 38:I did not specified that I was not a smoker, only to find out that all available rooms were somokers and they really stink. I was sort of lucky that they had a room with a Queen Bed.mingot it, I asked the attendant to reimburse the difference, he said that it was my fault for not specifying. He didn't. The pillows felt like a folded sheet, almost non existent. Front desk was very rude. Be careful if you chose it.

Review 39:Location not far from Auburn, right next to highway

Review 40:The hotel leases to a low income weekly group of tenant's and those people where a bit scary. I would not take my family to stay at this hotel because of those tenants.

Review 41:I liked the nonsmoking room was really a nonsmoker room. The hotel management was nice and took care of switching my room because of a bad lock on 1st room.

Review 42:There wasn't enough towels in the room, so I went down to the front desk and asked for more. She didn't want to give us another towel. I wasn't going to sit there and argue with her. We were tired from the long drive. So we went an purchased our own from the store. So bring your own towels & tissue

Review 43:The room was clean & the location was good

Review 44:First, there were 2 officers in the parking lot when we pulled to"handle" something. Also, this hotel charged my card prior toeven checking in. The pool was drained and said closed for season (onSept 7 in 90 degree weather). Wifi didn't work. When asked for onemore towel, they gave me a line of grief. The mini fridge wasn'tworking and smelled. The ac couldn't cool the tiny room we were in.The toilet has the wrong sized seat on it (which is inconvenient forwomen). One washcloth in the room. The cops even told us to staysomewhere else, and had they not had already charged me, we mostdefinitely would have left. Horrible.

Review 45:Disgusting and felt like I was going to inherit some sort of disease while there. And that's if somebody didn't break into my room. Staff barely speaks english also

Review 46:The location is not the best area. Next door to a hotel that has high prostitution traffic. Pool had a sign stating closed for season, in the mid of July. Outside of location, good value for money.

Review 47:The hotel staff was courteous and the property was clean.

Review 48:dirty floor

Review 49:not much

Review 50:Not enough vending. No coffee.

Review 51:Clean room. Good value.

Review 52:Thank you for friendly staff. :)

Review 53:It was gross.

Review 54:The ac worked.

Review 55:Great value for the money.

Review 56:Staff. Cleanliness. Price for a football weekend was jacked up.

Review 57:Access to Auburn University campus

Review 58:bathroom was clean, bed squishy and sheets questionable... was cheap though....

Review 59:price

Review 60:Room was clean

Review 61:Internet was too slow.

Review 62:The price. Internet was too slow!

Review 63:Close to interstate.

Review 64:Pool closed over MML Day, no fridge in the room, staff treated us as a bother, towels were old and thin, the over-whelming stench of moth balls

Review 65:WiFi didn't work and staff while nice was not informed about local restaurants and events

Review 66:Room was clean and comfortable

Review 67:Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Good assortment of restaurant options nearby. Would definitely come again!

Review 68:For the price it's good

Review 69:Not clean

Review 70:Nothing

Review 71:No complaints. Was as advertised

Review 72:The floor and shower ...were the same!! OMG!!

Review 73:39 bucks

Review 74:The Inn was good for a personal two nights stay.

Review 75:It was filthy.

Review 76:Hear ppl up stairs/ bathroom light was like a disco light. Not enough parking space! Rude manager! No WiFi.

Review 77:Nothing!

Review 78:The staff was rude. The room was dingy. A number of things in the room were broken including the security latch for the door..

Review 79:Bed sheets were dirty and had to go to the office to get new set.

Review 80:Great overnight crash spot after Auburn game

Review 81:The staff was very rude. The hotel needs a extreme makeover. The free wifi doesn't exist.

Review 82:The location is very convienent.

Review 83:The dead roach in the bathtub.

Review 84:Run down

Review 85:Needs upgrading.

Review 86:The motel is run down and badly needs upgraded BUT clean and comfortable - got what I paid for!

Review 87:The pool was closed for the season already

Review 88:Their pool was drained. And you only got 1 towel per person. They actually came in and counted your towels. Cheap!!!

Review 89:Directions are dreadful. Why not just reference their location by the exit # on I -85.

Review 90:A bit difficult to find, access difficult at times due to traffic conditions so close to the on-off ramp.

Review 91:Simple accommodations

Review 92:Microwave oven did not work. Had no way to head water for my morning coffee.

Review 93:The price and the location were perfect for my stay.

Review 94:My only complaint was of the other people staying at the hotel, they were extremely loud all throughout the night and early morning.

Review 95:The staff was very friendly, and for your money, it is a very good value.

Review 96:There was no hot water to the shower. The sink water would only get luke warm after running for a very long time. I booked a smoking room and none were available when I arrived.

Review 97:Staff was hard to communicate with some. They charged my credit card even tho the booking website said they wouldn't and I had planned on paying with a different one.

Review 98:Location and price.

Review 99:Lack of iron, ironing board, coffee maker and hair blow dryer BUT for the price these items were foregone.

Review 100:Cost (price), which was our driving motivator to stay here.

Review 101:The bed was uncomfortable, the pillows were paper thin. It was very loud here with shouting and people slamming doors at all hours of the night. The ice machine was not operable.

Review 102:Close to shopping and dining.

Review 103:I asked for a front side room and they put us on the back, and there was some illegal actitivy going on back there thats why i wanted a front side room, and i asked about moving to another room and he said they were all booked and that was a lie, because i counted six (6) rooms that was empty, and with that being said i would not be renting another room at that Motel (EVER).

Review 104:It was colse to the freeway and had plenty of places to eat.

Review 105:-reservation was for two double beds; we were given 1 double -no coffee in the room -no free breakfast; bare bones provision

Review 106:the price the location (except for the 24 hour interstate noise)

Review 107:There was no shower towel, nor shampoo available in the room and the bathroom vent was hanging off the wall.

Review 108:The value for the money. All I needed was a clean place to sleep and a hot shower and that's what I got - actually, that's about *all* I got.

Review 109:I was more concerned about the other customers who were staying therethan the hotel. The showers were backwards but I read the reviews andknew that, no biggie. I felt like it was exactly what we expected.

Review 110:This is an old hotel. You get what you pay for. The towels andsheets are worn. The carpets were in good shape. The mattressweren't the best but suited our needs, one night for ball game.I would pay 49 rather than 300 for one night. Stayed the iron bowlweekend. Well worth it.

Review 111:Staff panhandles for money, room was disgusting, cameras monitor yourentire stay, the place reeks of curry and body odor, tv reception isterrible, towels not fit for use, owner rations towels and toilet paper, door locks are antiquated, pool area is disgusting, old couches arelined up against walls in outdoor areas, room is tiny for doubleoccupancy, owner watches guests like a warden, no hair dryer, no iron, pillows are worn slap out, comforter had burn marks.

Review 112:Really?

Review 113:Location is hidden, you have to drive through a gas station to get toit. I only found it after stopping for directions twice, and it was onlya few yards from the exit from I-85. Shower curtain was mildewed. Showerfaucet was installed backwards (hot and cold were reversed).

Review 114:The bed was soft and comfortable.

Review 115:Poor water pressure in the shower and except for a very few channels, TV reception was non-existant

Review 116:Room was simple, but clean. Did not have that horrible antiseptic smell in most cost conscious hotels/motels. What little interaction I had with staff, (just checking in) was pleasant.

Review 117:The stay

Review 118:There were no shampoo or blow dryers for us to use.

Review 119:It was only 7 miles from the event I was going to.Not too expensive.

Review 120:The price and value

Review 121:Location right on exit ramp so heard trucks downshifting all night

Review 122:Price, Cleanliness, Friendly Staff

Review 123:small pillows no phone
