Reviews for Zuider Zee Guest House
Review 1:Nothing really!
Review 2:We wanted to have a great place to go to the beaches, but end up spending time at the pool as well. The B&B felt very save and we enjoyed every minute. Loved the beers we could buy from the big fridge and the monkeys running around.
Review 3:the distance to the cottage from the parking lot.. Unavoidable I know, but it was a bit inconvenient in the rain with my mom in law!
Review 4:Neat, clean and tidy. The owners are warm and welcoming!
Review 5:Our stay wasn't long enough.
Review 6:The room was quiet, spacious, tidy and comfortable. We honestly got more than we expected out of Zuider Zee and will definitely be back.
Review 7:Gavin is an awesome host! He was always there to help with anything that we needed. Communication from Gavin's side was excellent. The rooms were well equipped (with only the essentials) and clean.
Review 8:The Manager, Gavin, was friendly and helpful and went beyond the call of duty when he fetched a guest in our "wedding" party who had missed the earlier flight. He was also most generous in allowing our day visiting family the use of his breakfast room with a pot of coffee before they left for their road trip back home. The staff were friendly and our room kept clean and comfortable.
Review 9:nothing...
Review 10:Friendly people ...Gavin was very helpfull and accommodating...the place look awesome...you did not need anything ...they even have a blowdrayer in your room...really a nice place to stay...what more can i say... Awesome!!! PS. Say "Hi" to Casper.
Review 11:The television could be upgraded. Very small and blurry.
Review 12:Beautiful room with comfortable bed and crisp white linen. Nice decor. Good value for money!
Review 13:Rooms were a bit small, but at this room rate one can't complain.
Review 14:Excellent choice close to Durban Int'l Airport. We flew in at night, and drove 20 min to this place before driving further north into KZN the next day. A good and comfortable and safe option; great value. Breakfast was good.
Review 15:It's not a criticism, just a fact that the lounge area in the 2 bedroom cabin is rather compact.
Review 16:We stayed in the log cabins which were comfortable and well equipped, nice views. The owner was very helpful and gave us good advice about places to visit and best places to park when out and about. All in all a very pleasant, low key few days.
Review 17:The owners are fantastic, friendly and make a great breakfast! Wifi was free and fast, and overall we loved staying there. Will definitely stay there any time we are in the area.
Review 18:We really like The outlay of the bed and breakfast, self-catering and private, quite and tranquil, Thank you I had overall a good stay. May you have a Blessed year.
Review 19:The parking is quite difficult (high slope and no space to turn). The breakfast isn't really recommended as it does not add anything (you can do practically all in the room as well) and part of the foods was long expired.
Review 20:Excellent location, walking distance to the beach and quiet at night. Bedroom, kitchen and shower are well equipped. Very nice view! Friendly host with nice dogs :)
Review 21:We expected two similar rooms and received one large/comfortable one and the other small and cramped; Beds very too soft and caused backpain; Kitchen lacked basic utensils and we had the ask the owners on a few occasions; We also asked for a 12h00 checkout and there was no flexibility by the owners (or even some measure of understanding), overall, it felt like it was a grudge for them - will not visit again.
Review 22:Location - within walking distance of the beach; Good facilities nearby - a clean beach at Salt Rock, good restaurants, shopping, nice neighborhood with established gardens
Review 23:Difficult stairs to bring luggage into room.
Review 24:Great first view of the Indian Ocean. Comfortable bed. Excellent water pressure in shower. Our host was very welcoming, even sold us a bottle of her own wine, as the stores were already closed for the evening.
Review 25:The description that the rooms have a view of the beach. The beach is actually quite far, and one can hardly see the beach.
Review 26:The cosy and homelike atmosphere
Review 27:Not enough hot water, wife took a bath and when I took a shower there was no hot water
Review 28:the unit had a lovely design with goor decor, plain and simple....
Review 29:As I definitely am an enthusiastic coffee drinker, I did not like the instant coffee on offer and especially overseas visitors would prefer freshly brewed filter coffee.
Review 30:We only stayed one night, but we felt very much at home and would like in future to stay longer. Nice setting on balcony to look over the valley and the ocean, while enjoying an excellent breakfast.
Review 31:Can't complain!
Review 32:Location was easy to find; close to major venues but a bit removed from the concrete jungle that has developed along the beach. yet one could hear and see the sea. Quiet, clean, private, good breakfast it is a place to return to.
Review 33:Nothing, but it was a little tricky to find at first

Review 92:We did exprience a bit of poor custormer serivce which was how the host welcomed us she was not friendly and that to me was a total turn off. Its a lovely place but we didn't feel welcomed at all even when we left the next day still no change. I would also like to point out a veiw we love pets but at the guest house they had dog poo all over the path to the guest rooms if they can just get someone checking the garden and paths if the are clean and clear. Thanks.
Review 93:Me and my partner loved the guest house, mostly the sea side brezze and its a place where one can just sit and enjoy. I would really go and stay there Again. The rooms where super clean and found everything we needed. I would really live there if I could. Thanks to all the hands whom put together such a splened guest house. We enjoyed our selfs and looking forward for another stay.
Review 94:I'm better off at another BnB. Never had such poor service at a BnB andthis puts a bad word for all the service providers in salt rock. I alsobelieve that the owners are too old to run such as they wont getanything from people coming in to do business. How does one open a BnBat 07:30am? Thats when most meetings start!
Review 95:The fact that it is a peaceful place facing the see ( which one cannotsee though, because of the trees infront of the rooms) is ok.
Review 96:The televisions are set too high on the wall so very uncomfortable to watch and the owners dogs that bark too early in the morning.
Review 97:Friendly owner and good breakfasts
Review 98:Everything was excellent, maybe they can consider putting aircons in the rooms.
Review 99:Very neat rooms, friendly staff. Quiet surrounding. Comfortable brakeaway at a affordable rate.
Review 100:The rooms were dirty there was rat droppings and frogs in the one room.I asked for a room with single beds and was given one with a double bedand then had to pay extra to have two single beds eventually we were putin two rooms, the second room the toilet had not been flushed. I willnot stay there again
