Reviews for Royal Century Hotel at LAX
Review 1:The room smelled awful and it carried over to your clothes. The bath room was disgusting I would not recommend this location to my enemy. Very worried about if the bed was a safe to sleep in.
Review 2:I like the fact that the location was close to the air port
Review 3:Crackpipe burn stains on carpet everywhere. Doors was so nasty youcouldn't even touch them inside the room. Very very digusting! Damnat least put some paint over the all that dirt! Wouldn't recommendthis to a dog to sleep in!
Review 4:The outside of the property
Review 5:got a 3 bed room with bugs on the table and in the bathroom. switched to another 3 bedroom which has 2 beds and one temporary bed you can't really sleep on. Not cheap either.
Review 6:location is ok
Review 7:Broken TV remote notified staff at 8 pm and nobody showed up to resolve problem also ac/heat is on timer and shuts off automatically after some time
Review 8:the staff is rude. The price is ridiculous for the room. The paint is chipping the restrooms are soo so poorly fixed, light fixtures missing, even blankets had holes. Not the price worth, not staying here again. And they didn't honor our reservation.
Review 9:The pool but it was too cold to get in.
Review 10:Barking dog, adjoining room blaring TV all night (hotel was empty, why that room for me?), no hair dryer, dirty walls, noisy refrigerator,
Review 11:I was exhausted and fell asleep.
Review 12:Just very dirty. A good clean would go a long way
Review 13:Location was close to airport and the pool was nice. Not the nicest place but you get what you pay for
Review 14:Room is very small. Bathroom is so small that the shower door touches the toilet. Very loud guests and lots of door slamming at night.
Review 15:Very cheap. Close to airport and close to places like CVS, Dollar Store, Subway, Burger King, and Pizza Hut.
Review 16:We were there for over 3 weeks my only complaint was for a 1 o'clock checkout and that was an extra 20.00. Considering we paid 74 a night we felt we could of at least got that with no charge.
Review 17:Housekeeping staff very polite. Always made sure we were taken care of.
Review 18:I reserved a second night for $62 dollars in person. They did not honor the reserved price when I aririved and charged me $68. I should have booked the second night through booking.com to stop them from ripping me off. The first night room was good. The room I stayed in my second night had loose faucets and loose toilet seat in the bathroom. The room the second night also smelled funny.
Review 19:has a great location near the airport and highways. has a gated garage for parking. lots of hotwater and towels. good value for the price.
Review 20:This place was filthy inc. walls, floors, ,carpeting and even elevator. Awful filthy Shower /bathroom.This place definitely needs refurbishment. Its not worth $10 even for which I paid +55$. Photos appear deceptive!
Review 21:Parking
Review 22:The doors were filthy. The paint was shopping. The box spring mattress, the filler underneath, was tearing apart and hanging down. Refrigerator needed defrosting. The carpet was ragedy and needed to be vacuumed. The comforter on the bed was torn. Gnats
Review 23:The TV worked
Review 24:This place was filthy. The walls, floors, and carpeting were grotesque. The elevator did not seem safe to ride. Breakfast was served in the lobby. This place definitely needs a makeover.
Review 25:It was close to my destination.
Review 26:Room had a old odor smell and I saw two roaches; one on the dresser and one in the shower. Both alive.
Review 27:Found easily on the internet. Price was cheap compared to surrounding hotels.
Review 28:aweful customer service. people in front desk was rude. room was super dirty. restroom was extremely dirty. you do not want to have bath on it. overall you don't want to stay in such dirty place
Review 29:location is okay. nearby restaurants and close to airport.
Review 30:I didn't like the place
Review 31:Room smells bad the young receptionist was rude shower running cold water no hot bath no iron in the room toilet disgusting
Review 32:My driver told me it was in a bad neighborhood. I don't know how much truth is in that, but it made me uncomfortable. My first room had a cockroach on the wall and a tick in the bed. The overseer didn't speak much English so communication was hard. No shuttle to/from the airport.
Review 33:The closeness to the airport.
Review 34:Have stayed at this hotel numerous times and each time my experience was progressively worse. Last time it was bed bugs, slow internet connection, noisy neighbors, and a broken TV remote. Never staying here again.
Review 35:What I liked most about this hotel was their rates.
Review 36:The hotel (my room) was in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint to hide areas where holes in the walls have been repaired. Cold water showers is not for everyone. There is the need for hot water option for travellers who need this. Apart from yellow cabs there was no choice of other cab/taxi providers.
Review 37:I liked the hotel's location to the airport, not expensive to go to and from the airport. I liked that there were local restaurants and other cooked for places around and a CVS pharmacy opposite the hotel. There was a AT&T shop not too far away too.
Review 38:Old, filthy, I would only rate this half star. Manager on duty was more interested in his football game than helping customers
Review 39:Only good thing about this place was the proximity to the airport.
Review 40:The bedbugs and resulting bites all over my body were not my favorite. Also, rather than doing actual renovations, the hotel just slathers bad paint job over bad paint job year after year. There were ants and cockroaches, as well. And the smell was somewhat nauseating. The neighborhood is scary and unsafe.
Review 41:Not much
Review 42:One staff member a women very well just say she needs to have better customer service and understand people from different English speaking countries
Review 43:It's near the airport and plenty of public transport the restaurants near by are good
Review 44:The bad things were worse than the things I've written The place is a rat hole
Review 45:This was the filthiest, dirtiest place I have ever visited. I was afraid to take off my shoes.Parking was atrocious, people were not friendly, I was there about 30 minutes and left. I wouldn't stay there if it were the last place on earth. Avoid it at all cost And this is the good I have to say
Review 46:If it was nasty, filthy, there were bugs and carpet was extremely dirty. Unfriendly staff at the reception. Scary neighborhood. Don't go there pay a little more and look elsewhere
Review 47:Breakfast was decent
Review 48:There are bedbugs! We were bitten and it's terrible! In addition, card terminal was broken at evening, so only cash payment was allowed.
Review 49:Breakfast was poor, but taste. wifi/tv functional eventually.
Review 50:They have roaches!!! Would not refund my money and told me to come to the office to get roach spray!! Are you serious! Never again
Review 51:Location, direct tv and the pool
Review 52:Staff did not know anything. We asked: where is the nearest metro? Where is the wifi connection storngest? Are there any clothes shops around? And the answers we got was "I don't know I don't live here, you can use this computer and google..." Smells funny.
Review 53:Room was spacious.
Review 54:Roaches! Opened the door saw a roach crawling on the wall, turned around, went back to the desk and requested a refund. The guy at the desk didn't look too surprised???
Review 55:Was not there long enough to find something I liked.
Review 56:Would have liked assistance with my luggage due to injury but had to lug my stuff myself did not have email enquiries addressed prior to arrival and public tspt directions to hotel were minimal
Review 57:room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were polite
Review 58:The room should have been refurbished 20 years ago!! Opened thenightstand drawer and saw 3 roaches running for their life.
Review 59:Nothing.upon my arrival on 9-28-15, inglewood P.D. was in the lobbyescorting a man outof the property.
Review 60:Promised free shuttle to airport online, but told no shuttle, no discount, basically....sorry, we got your money...fend for yourself. Terrible, horrible service.
Review 61:Our room was fairly clean. First room given reeked of smoke and had cockroaches in the bathroom.
Review 62:Bathroom- terribly old; terrible location-so many homeless, strange people, very poor area; terrible strong smell of cleaning chemicals outside
Review 63:Breakfast included, comfortable beds
Review 64:The lady at the desk was not so nice. The place is located in the hoodof inglewood. Didn't look too clean and she wanted a $100 deposit ifyou were paying for cash. Not sure why with the place looking like that.IT's definitely a motel not hotel. They should really change thename and stop tricking people. The breakfast served were donuts thatlooked very old and I would touch that place again with a 10 foot pole.
Review 65:Nothing.
Review 66:Extremely rough and scary area. Me and my other female friend were constantly approached and cat called, jusy seconds after leaving hotel room. Gangs hang on street corners at night. hotel unfortunately unclean, bugs, damp carpet.. but that was not our concern after realising the area we were in.
Review 67:Good wifi
Review 68:The place was overbooked. Apparently the only room available was theroom without tv, room 107. They offered 10$ off which I accepted. When Igot to the room. There's no lock for the sliding door, the doordoesn't have a safety latch and the shower does drain properly plusyou have to put a deposit for iron and board. I would it consider thisplace a hotel.
Review 69:Breakfast was really poor, we came at 8:30 and there was nothing to eat. Only milk. We had to ask for plates and spoons. The rooms are very old.
Review 70:Staff was friendly.
Review 71:The location creeped me out. It's not safe there, especially for a woman alone. Loud during the night, weird smell in the room, carpet has holes and dirt. I couldn't even sleep. The safely lock from the room was taken away. I didn't enjoy my stay at all and I couldn't leave the room when it was dark .
Review 72:the only good thing about this hotel was the location near the airport. Everything else was bad
Review 73:Facilities weren't up to what was claimed and what was billed for. Poor infrastructure and old building with paint peeling off several places and furnitures showing out the age.
Review 74:The guy at front desk was courteous.
Review 75:Wifi was a bit hit and miss, facilities old etc, but you get what youpay for. I literally needed to sleep for a few hours so it enabled me todo this in the cheapest way possible!
Review 76:It was close to lax but no shuttle bus or transport to and from airportso it was still a $20-30 cab ride. It was the cheapest in the area soyou definitely get what you pay for!
Review 77:The staff is unpleasant, the reception guy did not stop talking by phone while check in, as a consequence, the key did not work and they lost the registration document. The first room where they allocated us smelled like a sewer and the final room was dirty. The breakfast was in the reception hall without tables and chairs and it was just coffe, orange juicie and donuts.
Review 78:it´s close to the LA airport
Review 79:The young man at the reception wasn't helpful and. He hardly left his video game to give us our key.
Review 80:It is close to the airport and easy to find. Well located when you have a plane to take
Review 81:cockroaches all over... balcony was something out of a prison movie... airplanes were landing constantly and they were only a few hundred metres from the hotel very noisy... breakfast was pretty atrocious...
Review 82:The wifi was good...
Review 83:Everything was old. There was some graffiti on the furniture in our room. Bugs, very load AC unit, carpet was coming up, room needed to be painted. I just felt digusting staying there. I needed a cheap spot for one night close to the airport but I honestly would never stay there again.. I rather pay more for a better quality hotel
Review 84:It was close to the airport
Review 85:There was some kind of bugs inside the bed. I was bitten all over the body. My eye swelled until I was unable to open my eye. Than meant my holidays had been ruined..
Review 86:What décor? Clean but old and patched but for one night it was fine. I didn't know there were hotels that old in LA.
Review 87:Convenient to airport and inexpensive. Also reasonably secure. Very busy so clearly a needed hotel.
Review 88:The free WiFi was very inconsistent, but when it worked it was fast eunogh. The location was close to the airport, but far from everything else. Breakfast was a big boring doughnut, but was free as i recall.
Review 89:Nice staff, good parking availability, and the room was clean.
Review 90:Dirty sheets, balcony door wouldn't close, wi-fi did not function, room Oder was bad, mattresses very old and felt saggy, av unit loud and clunky.
Review 91:It was cheap
Review 92:No microwave or refrigerator in the room! We had to go down to the lobby to use their microwave, but then the next morning it's broken and they didn't replace it. Also, ice machine didn't work for one day, and when it did its $.25! I thought ice was free?
Review 93:Cheap price for a last minute trip.
Review 94:Damp spoors all over the bathroom, filth everywhere, damaged furniture, TV didn't work, AC noisy, dirty sheets, just an awful hotel.
Review 95:I guess I could say it was cheap, but really it was just cheapest. The hotel itself was awful.
Review 96:It's in a pretty dodgy neighbourhood, not nice for walking and it's a good mile to any healthy food or coffee. There's a complex with Target and Starbucks etc one mile east.
Review 97:The room was older but cleaned well, and the staff were lovely
Review 98:I have stayed in hostels in third world countries that were nicer than this. They take no pride in their facilities at all. Dirty, old, and decrepit. Fortunately no bed bugs which I heard many complaints about.
Review 99:- Convenient to LAX. - good price
Review 100:Half the time police cars were in front of or near our building when we came home at night. Airplanes came in for landing right outside our balcony, at least one a minute. The place is falling apart, wood paneling coming off, tiles cracked, light switches funky.
Review 101:The bed was comfy, TV nice. We liked donuts for breakfast, and we liked the touches of past glory: wood panelled elevator (but filthy), tiled spanish patio inside, gated garage. The room was actually pretty clean and the people were nice.
Review 102:generqlly unclean. The bed at least appeared clean and seemed okay. But carpets were old and gross. Paint was the same. Front desk was not friendly.
Review 103:It was the cheapest hotel I could find for my late arrival at LAX. Free wifi and cereal / donuts for breakfast
Review 104:Often queues at check in and very long wait. The staff are very slow and spend ages fiddling around with bits of paper, whereas other hotels seem to be able to check someone in in a couple of minutes,
Review 105:I have stayed here several times. Place is clean, even though it looks shabby. Place is being renovated - new beds in some rooms are very comfortable.
Review 106:Check in took a while. There was one person on the desk, and he was very slow. Paint was peeling in places - could do with decorating.
Review 107:They offer breakfast, but it is not that great - just doughnuts, a bit of cereal and imitation fruit juice. Bed was comfortable.
Review 108:Lack of cleanliness everywhere : lobby, Swimming pool , room bathroom
Review 109:Nice and quiet location near airport , architectural style of the hotel with palm tree around the Swimming pool , 2 interesting spanish style interior building yards ( but All these were dirty !! It' s shame ! )
Review 110:Shower only went to scorching or freezing, charged me $20 for early check in which I have never been charged anywhere for! No microwaves or refrigerators in room. Dog next door barked all night long into the morning. Wifi never worked.
Review 111:This is the dirtiest, filthiest, most diagusting, outdated place I haveever stayed, and I have stayed at a number of hotels and motels. Theroom is smelly, dark, has poor air circulation, a thick layer of dust onmost furnitures. The bathroom is so diagusting looking I had to laytowels on the floor for stepping. I didnt even take shower that nightbecause I was afraid I will catch something.... Stay away from thisplace..... The staff is rude and slow, took him about 30 mins to checkinone person, I dont know what he does behind the counter but he is justsuper slow. Please stay away. This is a nightmare.
Review 112:The only good thing about this place is they have fast internet.
Review 113:Most staff had poor English. Internet needs improving, the breakfast area was chaotic, could do with some trays so you can take breakfast back to your room.
Review 114:Cheap price, near airport. The basics are there and it looks like it is being updated, so when the update is finished it will be good
Review 115:Room definitely showed it's wear.
Review 116:The parking garage was gated and had plenty of space. Though breakfast was meager (coffee and cereal), you could have your fill.
Review 117:Everything was bad. From the staff to the elevator to the room. Room smelled like pee and bathroom was super dity. We rented five rooms and not a single room was nice.
Review 118:Nothing in the is place was well liked.
Review 119:It's nothing I can't say I didn't like about the hotel I like and enjoy everything about the hotel when I come get a room to stay. I enjoy the stay every time and rooms be 100% clean.
Review 120:I like the most about the hotel is the room and staff was pretty nice. I can't say not one thing I didn't like about the hotel I liked everything about it.
Review 121:For Inglewood it was perfect. I forgot my pillow and robe and they shipped it to my home for me. We saw Fleetwood Mac and that was our purpose for staying in this hotel.
Review 122:I didn't like the fact that after 15 days they they asked me to leave for a day or so and then I could come back and re-book another room. I don't understand why I was discriminated on and I couldn't check in again. I thought the longest stay was for 21 days or a month at a time. After I left, they overcharged me for a room.
Review 123:I liked the fact that Royal Century Hotel gave a free breakfast and their customer service skills were very very good.
Review 124:I wish I had listened to the rewiews. I should have paid an extra $40 and stayed at the holiday inn. Dirty. Nasty. Extra hard bed
Review 125:Nothing. It was horrible.
Review 126:The bathroom area was smelly and the room was not very clean. Thankfully the bed and linens/towels seemed clean.
Review 127:Location was close to my event, pool and courtyard area, staff helpful
Review 128:Staff took forever to check us in (had to look through a pile of print outs to find each reservation.. No computers?). Then the key card wasn't activated correctly for our room. Room is in desperate need of paint and carpet. The beds were ok. Wifi had weak access and cut out so much i just turned it off. You have to pay for ice. You pay for coffee.
Review 129:It was close to the Forum and freeways. The big vanity made it easy for two women to get ready at the same time. Secured parking. Nice TV.
Review 130:The room was disgusting with feces on the wall next to the bed and roaches crawling up the bathroom walls. Door to shared room was busted up and had no lock. Not safe at all. We checked out 15 mins after checking in!!!!
Review 131:We had been given wrong room as it was in description, when I madecomplaint - staff member sad it will tell the manager, but it lookedlike he already forgot what I was complaining about. The room wasterrible - very bad smell of the bleach. Didnt like anything about thisplace - do not stay here!!!!
Review 132:Nothing....
Review 133:Huge cockroaches in a room, disgusting and uncleaned restroom, dirty bedsheets and curtains, smell in a room, no WiFi at all - only on corridor, poor customer service, poor ghetto area - didnt feel safe, definitelyits not a 50$ hotel it should be 10$ room!!, Disgusting breakfast (itsdefinitely not continental - poor quality coffee and juice), I regret Ihave not cheked out straight away and called my ccard company - was tootired to fight - didnt sleep at all tho...
Review 134:The staff were very unfriendly. The young male clerk was very rude to guests that were in front of us before checking in, even yelled at them! He also wrote our dates wrong, after a day out we got back to a note on our door saying we needed to pay 2 extra nights. I went down to the office and showed them my booking and they couldn't charge us anymore as it was their mistake.
Review 135:The room was great as we had a balcony, although upon entering the room we found empty beer cans under the bed and dressers. The location was good(does look a tad run down but nicer as you go closer to airport)
Review 136:It is close to the Lax airport but it doesnt have shuttle. You may take a taxi and spend 20 bucks. The driver will become angry. There is no place to have breakfast. It's served at the lobby.
Review 137:The bed is fine and the wifi connection is good.
Review 138:this is the scariest hotel I've ever been to the room stunk so bad the shower was moldy the towels stunkthis hotel is way overpriced for the area and seriously outdated will never stay here again and would advise nobody stay here
Review 139:absolutely nothing
Review 140:breakfast only had donates and coffee. no place to sit for breakfast. no chair in the room to sit at the table.
Review 141:the bed slept well, secure parking, room was spacious, clean worn out furniture fixtures in bath and electrical.
Review 142:the wifi sucked the towels and the comforters had holes in them the toilet when it flushed the stuff came back up the light fixtures have no fixtures everything is just hanging out the room smelled like cigarette smoke and the staff was rude.
Review 143:NOTHING
