River View Cottages sells fast on our site. Located in the peaceful countryside of the Matjiesvlei Valley, these cottages feature panoramic views of the Swartberg Mountain from private verandas. Guests can relax in their lounge beside an open fireplace.
The River View Cottages feature simple décor with bamboo ceilings. Each cottage has a private bathroom stocked with free toiletries.
Guests can eat outside, on their balcony, or at the dining table in the living room. Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, refrigerator and microwave. There is also a barbecue for a traditional braai.
River View is part of the River Farm, Matjiesvlei, which guests can explore by bike or on foot. Fishing and canoeing are possible on the river.

Review 2：Scenery, tranquility, space and quiet. Great for walking and swimming. Even a bit of fishing. Unbelievable regional options for nature experiences. Time to relax and read! Very safe.

Review 7：The view is incredible, the houses are very nice and it is so quiet. (but very safe!) A very warm welcome when we arrived and during our stay they were also very friendly. Free use of kayak was also great. Hikes in the area are beautiful!
Review 8：Can be very hot in the Klein Karoo and lack of air conditioning in the cottages will challenge some visitors on hot days. Fan provided was a bit noisy. I slept out on the balcony one night to stay cool. Balcony should have moveable chairs to take advantage of shifting breezes and the best views to the mountains.

Review 11：Bliss!!!! We arrived after dark and when we awoke the following morning we were greeted with the most spectacular views from our room. River, mountains and fresh air filled with Karoo vegetation smells. We will recommend this little piece of heaven to anyone!

Review 14：If you don't like dogs this will be difficult as three dogs were with us majority of our stay. Move all your clothes at night!!

However we made a last minute spur of the moment booking and what a good choice we made!The location is beautiful,the cottages are perfectly situated and very tastefully decorated and furnished and equipped with just about everything you can think of.I wanted peace and quiet and I got it,to sit and read a book and watch nature go by,we were also treated to stunning starry skies.I even braved a dip in the river to cool off! Thank you to the Lumb family and their dogs for something very special!
